So today i was getting majorly bored revising and decided that plaiting my hair would be the best way forward!

I deicded to try the french plait... well i think it took me about half an hour to master the art of plaiting, and then it kept coming undone when i went to the lower sections (y'know when you do the top bit, then add the next layer for a french plait). But i did it!!! I conqured the plait!

Now i want to try the side plait- as this (very pale) looking model shows. Anyone have any helpful hints about plaiting?

Also i think i did very well only refering to revision once! I do hope your all proud of me :)

My revision white board

Revision season is upon us. My first exam is on the 27th May on Health & Safety (Yeah its as boring as it sound) and i went down to WHsmiths purposly to buy my 'revision white board'...no i have not gone mad. In fact i do this every year when i revise.

My revision white board!

Basically i have a white board, not the huge ones in lecture theatres but those you can by from normal stationary shops. And the only way i can revise is mind mapping. So i mind map what i know on the white board, then i go back to my notes and see what im missing, then i wipe it off and start the whole process again!

It really works!! Honestly i do it every year and it works for me :) I think the white board cost me £4.00, and normally i would be wasting so much paper just doing the same thing. So it works out cheaper and its more fun.

Anyway does anyone else have a way to revise.
Oh and im thinking of doing a vlog soon? What do you all think of vlogs? Ive never done one before!

Finally got a placement

Seriously i must have the best brother in the world. I was home at my parents last weekend and my brother came to visit too. I told him about my difficulties trying to find a work placement,
as i have sent about 20 application forms to local authorities, and have so far got either: 'Sorry we are not taking anyone this year due to budget issues' or 'Sorry you were unsucessfull at this stage'. And i have to complete a years work experience in a local authority so i can complete an Experiential learning Portfolio, to become accredited to the CIEH. If i didnt do this i would come out of uni, without accreditation, have to take extra exams and start off with a lower wage (With the accreditation you start with £25,000. Without it you start at around £16,000-18,ooo) So you can see why i would totally love a work placement.

So on Wednesday, i call my sister after my lecture has finished to see if she wanted to go for a coffee after uni. Heres how the convo goes (bearing in mind i didnt know he was sorting out a placement for me):

Me: Hey Flick, its Nic
Flick: Have you heard the news?!!
Me: *Confused* um...no...
Flick: Chris has got you a work placement at Blackpool!!
Me: ...omg omg omg really?! *huge smile on face*
Flick: Yeah really
Me: Omg i cant believe it!

Happy. Me? Hell yeah!

The weekend in Scarborough

I went to Scarborough on Friday for the weekend to visit my friend who goes to University there and oh boy did i have fun! Basically we started the antics on Friday, where my freind decided making a cocktail that was 75% alcohol and the rest juice was an excellant idea! Within 1 hour she was seriously drunk- drunk enough to spill a bottle of purple nail varnish onto the cream carpet and then say the most randomest things.

We then went to a couple of bars, then by midnight we were all totally drunk, so decided a visit to maccy-Ds would be best so we can sort of sober up with chip and nuggets!

Flick (right) and my freinds flatmate in mcdonalds

Saturday: We went crab fishing, played in the arcades- and i decided i fail epically at any dance machines, seriously two left feet here *points to feet*, we went on a speedboat too, jeepers do they go fast, i was thinking "dont crash, dont crash, dont crash". It was 3 10-13 paged lab reports but collated together to make a huge 30-40 page report (i think this has got the be the longest thing i have wrote this year, surely).
Anyway by Wednesday(?) I got seriously bored of staying inside since Monday afternoon, as my Tuesday & Wednesday lecture was canceled, so at 3pm i decided to take a 'walk' into town and just window shop, and just get some much needed fresh air.

However this did not go plan... for one i ended up in Boots, don't ask how this happened, even I'm slightly confused of how i ended up on Boots and then near the Barry M counter picking up some dazzle dust. I ended up buying Block Blue (92), its really pretty on. And its not just a solid color, as when i first put it on it has different layers of colours that blend well together. Definetly a good purchase for £4.50 :)

Then i drifted off to the Revlon counter, though i don't feel too bad about this purchase because i really needed a new foundation, and i have heard some good reviews for this foundation. Its called Revlon Photoready and i bought 003, which is a pale color. Most foundations i have used in that past never got close to my skin-tone, but this on fits so perfectly, so I'm sticking with this foundation forever (hopefully haha)! It is quite expensive at £13 (Apx) but Boots were selling it at £9.99 :) Yaaaay for money off amazing products!

I also found myself browsing the isles in Zara, but i only bought a flowery top for £10, which i think is quite good for me. tehe...

Oh and i did end up finishing the assignment on time, in fact i had time to spare. Though please keep in mind i have no photoshop/any other photo editing program since i deleted half of my programs yesterday (i shall explain later). So in this case i used Paint, the trusty little thing!

The reason why i deleted photoshop yesterday and half of my programs? Well my laptop decided to be attacked by spyware, the worst kind i have ever had.
Its called Vista Antispyware 2010, and basically;

Vista Antispyware 2010 also known as Vista Antivirus 2010, Vista Guardian, Vista Antivirus Pro and Vista Internet Security 2010 is a rogue antispyware program that reports false infections and shows numerous fake security alerts as an attempt to trick you into buying the software. This program is installed through the use of trojans. When the trojan is started, it will download and install Vista Antispyware 2010 (Vista Antivirus 2010 or Vista Guardian) onto your computer.
-Source
It also decided to disable all .exe files, meaning i could not access the internet. I ended up having to use my iphone just to find out how to get rid of the spyware. It ended up taking me 3 hours, i had to type out on Notepad a script (.reg file) which allowed me access online.
Then i was able to download Spyware doctor, which within 5 minutes found the spyware (and 5 other spywares!!!) and deleted it basically. But i need to pay £35 to keep the anti-spyware program. Do you think i should pay £35, or do you know any good free anti-virus/spyware programs (Apart from AVG, which is rubish as it did not detect any spyware at all).

Can i give up guys for next lent?!

If waking up at 7am in the morning and having to catch a jam packed tram and then bus to silly Clifton campus just for a 2 hour lab session (Im normally situated in the City campus, i live in the city whilst Clifton is a 40 min bus ride in rush hour traffic at 8am) wasnt enough. Fate decided to throw me more things at me at full force.
I get this message this morning from Andy:

'Your profile pic confuses me, as it reminds me of a girl i use to fancy...'

I reply with:
'Use to?'

He replies:
'Yeah someone i went to school with'

Me again...
'Maybe you should get back in contact with her'

Andy: The guy who asked me out for a drink who i have known for a while, we shared a kiss and he walked me home. I then text him the next day to see if he wanted to hang-out, i get no reply- bearing in mind we always text or chat over Facebook. This happens for 2 weeks, until i decide to not bother with him any more. Then i find out he has a girlfreind- im thinking this is the reason why he didn't chat to me at all.

Ok so today i was rather suprised to get a message from him like that- i mean come on he is blatently messing with my head, who says "your profile photo reminds me of someone i use to fancy" to someone you kissed and made it pretty clear to her that you liked her ages ago.
[Note: Fancy- good grief it sounds like im back at school!]

Oh and he has split up with his girlfreind.

So what shall i make of this?

Stop-Go- Stop...

Guess who went running!! Though i cannot believe how unfit i am- i was out of breath within 5 mins of running. So i decided to run for one song (i had my ipod on) then walk for another and alternate between the two for each new song. It took me 30 mins to run/walk 1.5 miles.

Though i have only been once this week because i injured my foot- apparently new shoes are not good for running in to catch a tram two days before i started the training for the 3 miles i shall be running in 3 weeks. I am going running tomorrow though- my foot seems to be behaving today and is healing pretty well.

Look how pretty my running route is! There is even an outside gym that i ran past- but there were a few chavs hanging round there, and i don't want to get stabbed any time soon, so i ran on and i might see if its free tomorrow :)

Oh and my sister has sent me one of her Workout DVD's so that when i can't be bothered to go out in the rain running- i can stay in the warmth of my house and do a workout to keep my fitness levels up!

Run forest RUN!

Firstly i would like to apologise for the lack of posting, yes there is no excuse for the desterment of this blog for the past month but the ammount of work/meetings for univeristy work i have gone through this week is beyond crazy.
So this is a fresh start and im defo going to post at least twice in a week, i promise, and i will be including more photos into my posts because if im getting bored just reading articles/books without pictures for uni god knows how boring my posts are.

So i have NME radio blasting through my speakers, and a cuppa tea with some oreo's = One happy Nichola typing her new blog post!

I was home for the weekend and decided to do my bit for charity and do a 3 mile run in 4 weeks time. Yes you have read correctly- 4 weeks, bearing in mind that i have not ran a mile (never mind 3) in at least a year. So im gonig running as much as i can this week- though i forgot to bring back my trainers to run in on the way back to Nottingham, so i had to buy some crappy £5 fall-apart-in-the-rain trainers from ASDA. Though i admit they do look like they will last a very long time and they are comfy/warm- good for this weather!
Ive decided to go running every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. So if i do that up untill 4 weeks on Sunday i should be good to run those 3 miles! Hopefully...

But i havent ran by myself outside, so im going to be rather self-concious of running round a park (that i havent been in at all, so im going to get lost- its HUGE)so i might have a jog round my area- just to make sure i know where im going!

So i shall keep you all posted on my running, in fact i shall post tomorrow :) (See im keeping my word of posting twice a week!!) and i shall bring my camera with me and take a few photos of where im running.

Questions:
Do you feel self concious when you run outside?
Wish me luck?! Im gonna need it!

Weekend antics

Its the weekend, which means no Uni lectures to attend or work to do (can't believe i finished all my assignments). My flatmates have all gone home for the weekend, apart from one. So i decided out of pure boredom to go shopping.....

Now if you know me, i love going shopping on my own: i can go in any shops i like, i can spend as long as i like browsing, and i dont have to listen to someone saying 'no i dont like that' when i try on something, when all i want to say is 'I like this, now piss off' but can't so i have to say 'Yeah...me too, it horrible...'. I asked my flatmate if she wanted to come shopping with me, but she declined saying she had too much work to do. So it was just me :)

So i walked down to the uni library, returned some book (model student arnt i) and then tootled down to the town centre. I end up buying my flatmates birthday pressies- her birthday is this Monday. I bought her; Magnetic ladybirds (Inside joke), Student tin can money box (She is always going on about being in debt), Mug with hot choc sachet & marshmellows, Scarf, necklace. And a card of course :)

Next stop Primark! And guess what i see outside...

A man playing the violin whilst walking on a rope!? How freeking random is that? And he was rather an amazing violin player too.

So after seeing that, i decided to go to my haven: H&M- i found 2 tops i liked but decided on my green tunic top. It is so warm and cosy- definetly an item for this horrible permenant cold winter weather!

If you would like to see it in all its glory being modeled by yours truely on Lookbook Click here , hey you can even hype if you like, since im classed as a Noob on Lookbook and have zilch hype :( sad times! I must say a huge thank-you to Nicola for inviting me to Lookbook.

John Mayer dont gooooo!

Guess who decided to get ill this week? Every winter i get ill with colds at least twice (last year i was ill before Christmas break with a cold). So i was suprised when Christmas came and i hadnt even had a tingle of a cold or even a sneeze! So the week i get back to uni, my flatmate decides to get a cold and pass the virus onto me- thanks!
Ive been coughing a gazillion times a day (ok maybe not that much...), sniffling, fevers- haha i can remember i was at home for the weekend when i started getting feverish, and i woke up from having a scary dream (think plane crash with all your loved ones scary) and ran into my parents room saying 'is everyone ok?'. I obviously thought that my dream was real, but gosh was that night scary, i know every nightmare i may have in the future will definelty be about plane crashes. Yuck!
But i am getting better :) I went to the doctors yesterday and they gave me some antibiotics, and increased my inhaler dosage because i was finding it hard to sleep with feeling like i was going to have an ashma attack any second.

Also i bought some John Mayer (LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE HIM!) tickets for London in May, and they are pretty good seats as i got them on pre-sale on the day! So i rang up my sister who said she would go with me, who then decided to inform me that she has an exam on that date from 3-5pm. It takes 2 hours to get to london from Nottingham and thats even before getting from the Clifton campus to the train station! Then we would have to check into the hotel, put away our stuff and then find where the stadium is at. So so so annoyed- University ruins everything :(
So i have two tickets to either sell (Apparently they go for £150 on ebay) or just get my money back- i have 10 days to decide haha.

When it snows it rains!

Let me start this blog post by saying this little guy has saved me from freezing over yesterday!
Heres why.....

If your following me on Twitter you will know i have returned to my university flat to find a few nice welcome home pressies... No we do not have rats. We instead had (thank-god thats in past tense!) no bathroom light working- which meant i had to plug in my lamp into the hallway plug socket and then put the lamp inside the bathroom, which gave it some light but not loads, so i had panda eyes in the morning- not good! And my main light was not working in my room, which is odd because i changed my build before i left for home, but luckly my parents had packed some spare light-bulbs in my suitcase's, so i tried both lightbulbs (both brand new in a box) and neither of them would shine a light into my dark room :(
So i decide to call my landlady to tell her i think my light's wires might be broken, and she tells me she will come round tomorrow to see what the problem is with both my light and the bathroom as im right next door to the bathroom, so she thought it was linked. Oh boy was she right!...

The next worning i wake up and take a shower, then i go downstairs to the kitchen to get some breakfast, only to find that the whole of the kitchen floor is flooded, the kitchen sides are sodden wet and water is dripping down onto the floor. So i look up towards where i can hear some dripping sounds, to find part of the ceiling has damp and water is coming down from the damp spot. The kitchen is right below the bathroom and the damp spot is where the boiler is, so my first thought is that the bathroom is the source of the problem.

So my landlady gets another call from me to tell her the kitchen has decided to form into a swimming pool. So to cut long story short, the repair guy comes an hour later (yes an hour! It started snowing really heavy again!) and finds the boiler is leaking, and turns off the water. Which means the whole house gets freezing cold without the radiators working.

When he fixes the boiler, he cleans up the water in the kitchen :) and then thankfully my light decides to work and so does the bathroom light! Whhhhooooohooooo! So im thinking maybe the lights were ot working because of the leaky boiler?

So the story about the heater? My dad called me and told me to buy an electric heater for my room, because my radiator is not efficient enough and because of the boiler breaking he thought it best that i dont freeze to death :) I bought it from Argos for £23 its a tiny thing (size of a cat) but heats my room up in less than 5 mins to make it nice and cosy :)

Its all white!

Don't you just love waking up to a huge blanket of snow ? I know i do, so it comes to no surprise that the who of the UK is coated in snow within minutes. The BBC news and other news channels have their main news story of snow: snow related travel, snow related school issues, snow related business problems, snow related money problems, and snow related home problems.
Now i know that everything has been disrupted, but come on people, this is a little over-reaction for snow. When i lived in Buxton 2 years ago we had snow every other day (ok maybe not that many times lol) and our travel plans were not disrupted, we went to school even with snow as bad as it is now, my dad has been out and about in his car without problems dropping off packages for his business, and were suppose to be one of the worst hit with snow (he came home yesterday and could not believe how many people were not on the roads lol). But maybe its just that we are use to it, and so don't see what the big deal is.

Though i do know of three furry little critters that have been having some fun in the snow- our three cats (Jessie, Cassie and Sussie). Jess has just this min came back inside after going out for a few seconds to do whatever she does and then came back in soaking wet, and very very very cold paws to run manically upstairs and jump onto my sisters newly made, white duvet, bed with muddy paws (god knows how she got mud on her paws with the amount of snow outside). And is now fast asleep, much to my sisters annoyance!
Cassie has taken the opportunity to sleep 24/7 unless she needs to go out to do her business or she wakes up to meow at someone for food, or for a cuddle.
Sussie is being stupid and keeps scratching to go out every hour, she is the silliest cat i have ever known!

Hope you are all having a nice snow related week and are not too cold :) And if your lucky enough to live somewhere hot, say hello to the sun for me, i do dearly miss it.

P.S: I am starting a new project which will be up by this weekend....

Happy Christmas to all!

I hope you have all been good girls and boys because Santa came a couple of days ago (which I'm sure you all know), i must have been very good all year because there was no coal in sight. Though what i did receive was simply lovely. In fact i am going to list all i received just to make you all jealous :)

Soap and glory stuff- seriously the best thing invented since sliced bread!

A hat, but its dead cute: sort of like this but from river island and its blue. I call it my Amsterdam hat, just because they all wear hats like this haha.

Chocoloate- I get this ever year, im pretty sure you do to, and i never tire of recieving chocolate. The more the merrier i say!

This Urban Decay make-up. Which is soooo good, even if it is a bit expensive! It looks gorge on :)

a jigsaw puzzle- Now the story behind this: about a month ago i was chatting to my mum about xmas and what i loved getting for xmas when i was little, i mentioned i loved getting puzzles to do, because i was obsessed with them to be honest (haha), so she decided to suprise me with an xmassy jigsaw puzzle thats huge! I think it may take me a while to complete...

A new purse

benifit make up. I am simply in love with the brand, i insist you all buy some right this instant.

Novelty sock- what would i do without the novelty crap?!

Im saving the best till last: my wonderful sister suprised me with a card and perfume. I opened the card and guess what amazingly, wonderful pressie i saw! A lady Gaga ticket!!!!!!!!!!
Helll yes guys, i am gonig to see her in March 2010, i bet she will be amazing live, we have really good seats too apprently, because she got the tickets the day they went on sale.

My brother and his wife, Nuala came down for xmas too, so it was really nice to see them, and they drove my Auntie Jean down (she cant drive) to ours too. But my grandad decided that it was going to 'snow' again really badly, so didnt come down :( veeeeery sad because he has been down every xmas since i can remember!

How was your Christmas?
x

Stroke that popcorn!

Music on loud? Check. Most recent edition of Cosmo Mag? Check. Big bowl of Popcorn? Check. My night in a tea-cup! (Haha, tea-cup, i was supose to write nutshell, but i seem to have wrote tea-cup... its staying) I am basically having one of those 'Flatties have either gone home/ out/ havent the foggiest of whereabouts', though im sure Victoria said she was at dance till late, I know Emma went home for the weekend earlier today, as did Amy, and i havent the foggiest where Nicky is. So its me on my lonesome.
Though i do like those days where you just want the house to yourself, though today is not one of them.... it all too quite!

Yesterday i went to a party at a bar called Moog- thought it did take us 20 mins to locate it (we used my iphone google map in the end). Anyway, when we finally got there, my friend (Phil) band was playing, and i must tell you something before i say anything else- his other bandmate (and flatmate) is in his band to called Andy. Me and Andy have gone out on a date before and hit it off quite well, but we have'nt told Phil because it might be awkward. Soooo.... when i get there Andy comes over and says hi and we strike up convo as you do. Phil was in his depressed mood (as per) and hugging me every five seconds (ok maybe not that frequently!), when they had finished their gig, Andy did not once come over to chat or say hi, he did wave and nod in my direction ever once in a while, i don't know if i have done anything wrong that night? Or from our last drink we had together?

So now im stuck in my house, without flatmates, but a big bowl of popcorn and The storke on full blast is making me feel soooo much better :)

Ohhh, also i went xmassy shopping and bought so many nice pressies for my mum/dad/brother/His wife/ Sister. I was really happy when i saw Boots were having a 3 for 2 offer on Soap & Glory stuff. So i bought some of them for the girlies! I will post after xmas what i have bought everyone just incase my sister looks at this post haha. Felicity you pressie is simply awesome!

Does anyone shop in vintage stores such as COW (there is one in Nottingham and Manchester), as i was in one today browsing, but the shop assistants, god i always feel like im being judged going in there as if they are thinking "ohh, what is she doing in here? She doesn't look like the right person to shop here", does anyone else think that when you enter vintage/expensive shops? Or am i just being self-concious?

Much love and misiltoe kisses (i love those choccies!)
Nic xxx

Busy busy bee!

Honestly i really am wonedring where all the time goes, i have such a busy schedule at the moment. Especially with the workload this year, i have an assignment due in December 18th, which i have no started or even looked at yet. I might have a gander at it after i have wrote this post... emphasis on the might!

Its a Sunday- according to the bible that is the day of rest. Yeah well that is not going to happen is it, really. My plan for the day was supose to go something like this;

9am- Wake up/shower

10am- Breakfast/watch crappy Sunday morning TV

11-2pm- Write up all Law notes

3pm- Break

4-7pm-More work

7pm- Foooood!

Rest of night- watch TV with flatties/do work/interweb

What really has happened so far;

9am- Still asleep having a super scary dream about spiders growning in jam jars

11am- I finally wake up/ have breakfast

12am- Realise i have nothing in for tea tonight- go to ASDA/ get run over by shopping trollies

So you just know my day is not going to go to plan. But i am doing some work, i have wrote up some Law notes....though the presentation's are 60 slides each, with 5 presentations. So yeah its going to be a loooong day.

Yesterday was great! I woke up on a good time (i believe it was 9am), and me and Victoria (housemate) decided we should go out to the SU for the night, since all our other housemates ave gone home for the weekend. Then i get a call from my parents, telling me to find a Indian restaurant close to my house, as they are coming over in the afternoon to see me- now you must know that since i have moved into this part of nottingham, i have not had a look round to see what there is, so i had not the foggiest on good places to eat. So the rest of the afternoon was spent texting/facebooking freinds who live in nottingham and hence know good places. I did find a nice place, which was by chance, and its a 5 min drive away, SCORE! The curry was simply amazing, me and my Mum shared each of ours- i had a Rogan Josh and my mum had Saag Chicken (Basically a spinach dish), they were the yummiest i have ever eaten!
We ended up not going to the SU but instead watch lots of movies and fall asleep in the living room. All together a fun day :)

How has your day been?

Im here do not fret!

Hello lovlies!

I know, i know i have been a horrible blogger. I have not been present on the blog-o-sphere, for quite a while :( My fault of course! Simply put: i have way to much university work to get through... no seriosly, this is not just one of those weak excuses of "oh, yeah sorry....urm...too much work...can't do that at the moment" excuses. I have an assignment on HHSRS (Just google it, and you shall see what i have to put up with) split up into 4 parts, using a housing report (made by our tutor- meaning its utterly confusing, nothing is sectioned off like: exteriour/living room/kitchen etc), its 1000 words, and i have so much to write! I went over my word count for part 1 by 250 words, then realised i can put it in a table and then it doesnt count towards the word count- Seriosly what is the point of having a freeking word count?!

The other module's are simply amazing! Im loving the housing and regeneration one, its just so interesting how a house can affect the community, work, and basically everything, dont worry i shall not bore you with that nonsence...unless you want me too? :D
So im hoping, next year, when i have to do 6 months work experience, i can go into the housing market, working with those who help regenerate houses. Though i havent the foggiest where to start looking!

Ok moving away from university... last night i went out with my friends, freind. Ok i think i might have to explain this, so you do not get confused!
-Phil is a very good friend of mine, i lived next to him in my halls of residence last year. This year he lives with two guys both called Andy. One of the Andy's is super hot! And we sort of (ok we have!) have a thing for each other. A couple of days ago i was chatting to him about university and not being out for a drink or clubbing in ages (1 whole freeking week!), so he suggested we meet up for a drink on Sunday night, which i obviously agreed to :)
So we went out last night and it was so much fun, we chatted about everything, and he walked me home (holding hands i might add) and we are going out again this week.
However, Phil has a crush on me, and neither me or Andy want to tell him were dating (?!), so i have to sneak into his flat when i go over to make sure Phil does not know! Aha, what a mess, and to top it all off, i have to go over to their flat tomorrow night because it is Phil's birthday!

Right im off to do some more uni work, this seems to be never ending lol
- Oh and i am defo back! I promise as least one post a week!
xxxxx

Photos and phones

Im sure you all aware (if tyour a gossip fanatic, such as myself) that Perez Hilton has a few words to say about T-Mobile:
http://perezhilton.com/2009-10-09-t-mobile-seriously-screws-their-customers

I have been having my own vendeta about the T-mobile service:

My phone died about 2 months ago, according to the phone people (yes this is the technical term tehe!) it was due to condensation, or because its been in the wet. Firstly i love my phone dearly, that i would never put it in danger, secondly how can a phone that costs £130 retail value break due to condensation?! Its the biggest load of tosh i have ever heard!
So i sent if off to be fixed, a month later (2 days ago) they tell me they cannot fix it, so are instead giving me £130, and i still have to pay for my contract which end in Feburary.

Though i have a solution (or rather my mum does): My mum has my sim card as that is the one with the contract on, and puts it in her phone, instead of using pay as you go. Then i can get a new phone (Iphone please!!!!) and a better contract with the money :D

The moral of this story? Dont go with T-mobile!!!!!!

Also i will upload some photos of my new house tomorrow.

Oink oink!

Hey all. Im pretty sure that you all know about this swine flu palarvour, yet most of us (ok all) are in the mindset of "Oh it will never effect me". Thats exactly what i was thinking about 2 days ago, untill i got a phone call from my mum telling me that my sister has caught the dreaded swine flu, and has therefore gone to my brothers until she gets better!
When i last chatted to her she could hardly speak, which isnt exactly one of the worse things in the world! (Joking, joking!). My parents are in Cyrpus for a week on holiday, and Flick is supose to start her first week of lectures yesterday (which she obvs missed) so its a bit of a mess round here.

Now i have started feeling a bit ill, sniffling, coughing and genereally unwell. Hopefully i have not caught swine flu, im more than likely have caught a cold, as im not showing any of the swine flu symptoms such as feeling sick and a high temperature. Also my flatmates have started to show signs of being ill, so its not good.

Anyway just a quick update, and also does anyone know a good sorority names, our house wants to become a sorority (the only one in UK, Nottingham!).

An open letter to my timetable

Dear NTU timetable,

I know you must have a hard job just uploading timetables, changing the times/dates/lecture rooms/etc whenever needed. Though i have been waiting quite a while to recieve mine, you see Mr. Timetable i recieved a letter from my course leader saying: my timetable would arrive on the system by the 25th September, though apparently you have pulled a sickie and decided to leave my timetable till last. Heck, lets give the freshers their timetables; my flatmate who is a fresher recieved hers 2 days ago, and was supose to get it on the 5th October.
Everone i know so far has recieved their timetables apart from one class.... MINE! Now why is this, do you not think because there are only 15 students in this class, we would not mind? Prehaps, prehaps not, since i start lectures on the 14th (aparently from letters from my lectuerers) and its now 4th October. So Mr. Timetable would you pretty please like to upload within this week, i would rather appreciate it.

Yours Faithfully,
Nichola Isherwood

[Note to bloggers: im getting so pissed of about my timetable, just needed to vent :)]

Hello internet and lovely nottingham!

Warning: This post shall be very long since i have not blogged in over a week (Ive been very much deprived!)

Most of you probably know that i have moved back to Nottingham about 2 weeks ago (Whoop whoop!) if you are following me on twitter/facebook. I moved into a lovely house about 15 Min's walk away from the University or 5 Min's on the tram (i use that for lazy/hangover days), the only other housemate here at the moment is Nicky who is really nice and fun to be around.
Though the other 3 flatmates are still not here even though the house contract started on 16Th September, this is only because the other three rooms still have not been finished, which means me and Nicky have to put up with builders from 10am to 9pm every day since we moved on on the start of the contract. Though apparently my landlady told us that they should be finished by this afternoon (hopefully!).
Me and Nicky both has a sneak peek in the three unfinished rooms last night (doors left open due to paint drying i presume?) and they are so huge, one has a walk in wardrobe, another has an en-suite, though last year i had an en suite which i didn't like, i prefer shared. My room is the smallest in the house, but its nice and cosy and homely, don't get me wrong i would love a huge room, but i wanted a small cute one. In fact i shall post photos soon :)

So since i'm writing this, you will obviously know that i have finally got the Internet up and running; yesterday me and Nicky got back to the house after a weekend at home and decided to install the Internet... 4 hours later, 20 phone calls to virgin media and many cup of teas later the Internet was fixed (apparently all we needed to do was unplug replug). Now just the virgin media TV to do today and then we are a full pledged working student house!

Flick my sister is going to the same University as me this year, she moves into her halls tomorrow, so I'm nipping over to the Clifton campus (i live in the City she lives at Clifton campus) to help her unpack and of course to see my lovely parents :)
I have only been to Clifton campus twice and that was only going to the labs and that's the only place i know. So god knows where the halls of residence is, I'm thinking of pretending to be a little fresher and ask where it is lol.

Also has anyone found the wonder that is Skpye? Since my Internet decided to work yesterday, i wanted to chat to Flick but my phone was very much dead and charging from all those virgin media calls, so i remembered she has Skype and downloaded it. I didn't realise it was a free video call, so i think i will be using skype more often than my mobile to contact her :)

QUESTIONS:
1.Skype?
2. Your fave song at the moment?

Bye or hello

My landlady is super annoying, if you are following me on Twitter (@nichola09) or a freind on Facebook, you will allready know i was supose to move in today (16th September) as my contract starts and i rang my landlady asking when i move in and she told me the 16th September.

So a week ago i call her again to arange my moving in day:
Me:"Hi, its nichola"
LL: Hello Nichola how can i help you?
Me:Can i just confirm that i move in on the 16th September?
LL: Yes the Thursday, 16th September, what time will you be moving in at?
Me: [Slightly confused as i thought 16th was wednesday, but thought hey maybe im wrong!] Ok then is it ok if i arrange to move in at 1pm?

So when the convo ends i look at my calander just to check its the Thursday. Of course i find that its the Wednesday, so i call again just so she knows she has the day wrong and wont turn up on the wrong day.
Basically i ring up, and she tells me she thought the 16th was Thursday, they are still re-doing the plumbing/re-decorating and the radiators are not even in, and will not be ready untill that Thursday, because she thought the contract starts on thursday.
I had already asked my dad to take me on the wednesday, so he had to change his meetings around so he can take me on Thursday instead (tomorrow). What a load of hoo-haa!

Anyway i move in tomorrow, (finally) but there isnt an internet connection put in yet, so i will not be able to blog for about 3-5 days :'( So the next time i blog i will be back at uni in notts with my new flatmates!

Chat to you all soon! Nic xxx

P.S- Does anyone know any good internet providers?

Photo post :D

After my rant in my previous post about my dead phone, my mum had the idea of ringing up the insurance people and asking if they could get it fixed on the insurance instead of a market stall buisness in chesterfield that might/might not be able to fix it. The insurance people said yes but it will cost £25, because its the first time we are using the phone insurance, and that they will defo be able to fix it :) Whoohooo!
But i will have to use my dads old phone, which is obviosly annoying because its a boys phone :( Why cant i just magic a new iphone or a blackberry up, is that so much to ask for?

Anywho, i took a few photos this week, so volia....

Yes you are not seeing things. Cassie was asleep in a pink hoodie, she was totally cacooned, like a catipilar, twas rather cute!

Hah, i think these cats might go for me soon! Sussie (black cat) was at the end of my sisters bed, whilst Cassie was at the top taking up all the room. So Sussie looked rather pissed of, but im still unsure if shes annoyed at me for shoving a camera in her face, or at Cassie for taking up all the room!

And lastly, the most funniest photo i have ever taken! Jessie fell asleep between both my jewlery boxes (yes i have waaay to much!) on my windowsill. I was scared that she might roll over, which she mostly does when she wakes up and streches, and then fall off! But she slept there for about 3 hours. Very, very, very strange cat!

Ok thats enough cat related photos :) I think i need to take photos other than cats, but dont you worry! I shall be back at uni next week (so excited!) so i shall grace you with many different photos next week, especially of my new flat!

Phone you must die (oh wait you allready did!)

So with only 8 days till i return back to University, i went down to the phone repair shop (My phone display light has gone, and can only see the screen in total darkness). So i showed them the phone and told them that T-mobile said the phone got condensation in the battery or something, which has broken the phone, and will not give me a new one (even though im on contract untill January). So the phone repair shop basically said: It will cost £25 and even then they might not be able to fix it.

Just fucking great!

So now im stuck with a shitty phone untill January. I will be getting an iphone in january, when my contract ends, but i don't know what im going to do with this phone now.

Gah! So annoyed today.

In other news, i bough everything i need for university now (finally). It took 4 hours, but i did it!

How is everyone else today?

(I apologise for swearing and a ranting/ raving blog, ive just had a shit day)
