Demonstrating Wisconsin - Now Available

I'm happy to announce that my newest book, Demonstrating Wisconsin, is now available for sale from Blurb. Demonstrating Wisconsin is a Visual History of the 2011 Wisconsin Protests, including both the Union Protests in Madison again Act 10, but also Occupy Milwaukee later that Spring.

Demonstrating Wisconsin is told from a non-partisan viewpoint, with the goal of allowing the reader to experience what happened at these events, and allowing them to interpret what they see for themselves.

It is available in Softcover and Harcover format. I may also make it available in an eBook format if there is demand.

I'm pleased to announce that you can now order Scott Walker's Wisconsin: A Fairly Conservative Perspective for your Kindle through Amazon. The book is authored by Cindy Kilkenny, and features photography from the Wisconsin Union Protests that I took during the early part of last year.

I went to Madison over a three weekend period, and captured a significant number of photographs of the protests. Cindy's book tells the story of Scott Walker, including the turmoil during that time, from a fair perspective. I was happy that I could be part of her project.

Website Updates

As some of you may have noticed, I've made some updates to this website. I moved it to a Content Management System called Umbraco, and also made some significant changes to the Silverlight gallery being used. One of the goals, of course, is to make it easier for me to update this site. Previously I hadn't been adding much in the way of new photography here because it was kind of difficult. Now it's much easier, and so you should see new photographs being added on a regular basis.

Unfortunately, as part of the upgrade, I didn't realize that the new contact form was broken, and I wasn't receiving any emails from it. So if you had previously tried to contact me using the new contact form, I apologize. It is now working again if you'd like to get a hold of me.

FIRST Robotics Regional

Recently I had the pleasure of photographing a Regional Competition for FIRST Robotics. For those that don't know, FIRST stands for For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology, and is a high school robotics competition that has been around for more than 20 years.

Team 537 from Sussex Wisconsin was a semifinalist in the competition, and you can see photographs which I took of the team and their robot on their website.

Welcome to the online home of Nick Schweitzer Photography Studios. This blog will be kept up to date with the latest news about where you can find my work, as well as any updates to the website, and new additions to the online gallery.

Both the home page, and the gallery utilize Microsoft Silverlight 2 in order to display my photography. Silverlight is a free plugin available for both Windows and Macintosh, as well as all major browsers. You can download Silverlight by visiting the Microsoft website here.
