Some friends of mine got together and decided to throw a party at an old bank downtown. I wanted to help out in whatever way I could. I brought my camera and snapped away. Thanks to all the guys and gals that made this party a reality, helped raise around seven hundred dollars for the Red Cross. Thanks to all those that came to the event. It was a blast to do something so good, and have so much fun doing it. I hope that you can enjoy these photos.

Base Jump

This Last week I got to go on a rather cool shoot. I went with Garrett Smith of http://hammersincphoto.com up echo canyon. I got to shoot an extreme sport that I have not shot ever before. The sport is base jumping. For those that do not know what that is, It is jumping from any structure with a parachute to aid your landing. It was an excellent journey. Garrett and I had set off about an hour before the athletes just so we could spot out some angles and try to find the trail. Since it was our first time to that area, we did not know where the trails were at. We wandered around for about fifty minutes before we found the trail to the top of the cliff. The cliff is four hundred and fifty feet tall. The shots that I got were from the top of the cliff. Garrett not only being a pro photographer is as well a pro climber. He rigged up a rappel to descend about fifty feet below the exit point. I was sitting two feet from the edge of the drop. The legs of my tripod were six inches away from the edge. I had to be mentally strong and not focus on the fact that I am not tied down to the earth, nor do I have a parachute to slow down my fall.

The jumpers showed up at the top of the cliff we told them our game plan. We had everything setup, lights were ready, cameras were focused, and everyone was cold and ready to jump and get back into their cars. They each called their drops counting off from five, four, three, two, one, and away they went. My heart rate was skyrocketing just watching the first one descend toward the landing zone which was lit up my three glow sticks. It was an amazing experience. I now have a new goal on the bucket list. I will do some base jumping before I croak.

Well It was nice to go over to Molcasalsa tonight and show Hector Uribe the night manager the final product of the fruits of my neighbor. I have been working on a poster for his soccer team for countless hours. I have never been in photoshop doing a layout with this many layers. I had 40+ players of photos, titles, and other images incorporated into this poster. It is so nice to have it done. Now I can get ready for this upcoming wedding/Bridals/ receptions that will be over the course of two weekends. I will be in Rexburg Idaho this coming weekend, and Seattle Washington the weekend that follows. I am excited to get to shoot with the some new equipment. Thanks to Garrett Smith of http://hammersincphoto.com/ I will get to shoot with a handful of pocket wizards and some fresh new lenses.

Well I just got back from a trip to Kentucky. I spent most the time in the city of Louisville. It was great to be back into an area that I lived for two years as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It was awesome to go back and see some familiar faces, and visit places I missed when I was living out there. I tried to take some cool pictures. I hope that I can post more in the near future. I will be selling this panorama picture let me know if you would be interested in buying.

Skating in California

Venice Beach was one of my favorite stops in California. We were down there over spring break and we had a good time skating and getting to meet a handfull of the locas. There were many young talented skaters. I was blown away with there style.

The World Cup

After work on Saturday the first of February I went up and shot the World Cup Moguls event. It was awesome to see these athletes cruising down the course that is the length of about two football field. It would only take them about an average of twenty-five seconds. WOW that was fast. I was posted up at the bottom of the course shooting with a Nikon D200 with a 300mm f/2.8 lens (Bazooka Lens).

THE BLACK ALBUM

A couple weeks back my friends and I went over to the local middle school to do some snowboarding. My fellow photo partner Nate Sorensen brought some strobes to make some extre lighting. We played around and had fun int he snow. I did not Realize until just recently that we got some pictures that turned out really cool. Since it was shot at night we had a lot of black in the pictures. I thought the most appropiate name for the this post would have to be the black album. I wanted to emphasize the contrast from the black night and the bright riders… I hope you enjoy these pictures!
