A few months ago, our cow Juniper lost her calf. We couldn’t explain what had happened or take away her distress. But when she was reunited with her older calf, we watched her begin to settle. After losing a dear friend to cancer this week, I’ve found myself thinking about Juniper—and the comfort of being near someone or something familiar when life feels painfully different.

Coming back to this podcast is one of those things for me. In this episode, I’m sharing both stories and reflecting on Jesus’s invitation in Matthew 11:28–30 to come to Him when we’re weary and burdened. I’m still finding the words for this loss.
