I’m delighted to announce that some of my music photography is going to be featured in an exhibition later this month in London. I will be exhibiting a few pieces of my work alongside fellow music photographer Chris Worden at Miss Q’s in Earls Court on the 18th March. Aside from the exhibition, there will also be some live music from Rubber Kiss Goodbye, 2000fastwomen and The Foxes which should all add up to an excellent night. Give me a shout if you want to come and I’ll get you added to the guest list. There is also a group on Facebook with more details.

I met Anthony a couple of months back as he was organising a night called “An Event of Some Kind” which a friend’s band, Witness to the Beard, were playing at. I was there taking photos of Witness to the Beard, but hung about to watch the rest of the night, which included the excellent band Don’t Tread on Spiders and comedians Tom Basden and Eric Lampaert. You can check out photos from the night here. Anyway, Anthony is putting together some applications to perform at Edinburgh festival and needed some photos for this, so asked if I could help. So, here is one of the resulting photos from a quick dirty photoshoot in the Balham Bowls Club last Sunday morning, which involved a lightstand, a shoot-though umbrella, at 580ExII, some Cactus triggers, a pint of Guinness and a large pot of coffee.

In other news, I’ve just booked a one day lighting course run by the wonderfully talented Adam Duckworth in February, which I’m very excited about. Hopefully I’m going to learn some wicked-amazing lighting skills and will be able put these to use on some new portraits in the new year.

I took a trip to a place called Bletchley Park earlier this week. It used to be one of Britain’s best kept secrets, as it was used in the Second World War to crack the Nazi secret coded messages. As a results, Alan Turing and others developed the world’s first programmable computers (called the Colossus), which they have a working replica of there. A truly amazing and awe-inspiring place – definitely worth making the trip for.
