En esta oportunidad les voy a explicar éste tiempo de verbo en el cual muchos alumnos se confunden con el pasado simple a la hora de hacer comparaciones.
El Presente Perfecto Simple se usa para:

Decir que una acción la cual comenzó en el pasado y tiene sus resultados hasta el presente, especialmente con stative verbs tales como be, have, like, know, etc. En este caso nosotros usamos for y since, por ejemplo:

Rachel has had the dog for three years. ("Ella has tenido el perro por tres años". Ella tuvo el perro hace tres años atrás y todavía lo tiene.)

Decir que una acción se llevó a cabo en un tiempo indeterminado, ésto ocurre porque el tiempo no es importante o simplemente porque no se sabe cuando ocurrió. Se enfatiza la acción, por ejemplo:

The Taylors has bought a sailing boat. ("Los Taylors han comprado un velero". El tiempo es desconocido o no tiene importancia. Lo que es importante es el hecho de que ellos son dueños de un velero.)

Decir que una acción terminó recientemente y cuyo resultado es visible en el presente, por ejemplo.

She has just washed her hair. ("Ella recién se ha lavado su cabello". Ella ahora se ha envuelto sus cabellos con una toalla, por lo tanto la acción ha finalizado.)

Mencionar una acción que ha sucedido dentro de un periodo específico de tiempo la cual no se termina al momento de hablar. Con frecuencia usamos palabras y expresiones tales como today, this morning/ evenings/ week/ month, etc.

She has taken fifteen pictures today. ("Ella a tomado quince fotos hoy". El periodo de tiempo -today- no se terminó aún. Ella puede sacar mas fotos.)

PERO : She took twenty pictures yesterday. (El periodo de tiempo -yesterday- se terminó.)

*Nota: Usamos el Presente Perfecto Simple para anunciar un fragmento de una novedad y el Pasado Simple o el Pasado Continuo para dar mas detalles sobre eso.

El Presente Perfecto Simple is usado con las siguientes expresiones de tiempo: for, since, already, yet, always, just, ever, never, so far, today, this week/month, etc., how long, lately, recently, still (in negations), etc.

Tecnology in classroom

The world is constantly changing and ways in which we function at home, work and school are also changing. The speed at which technology has developed plays a major role in these changes. From e-mail to on-line classes, computers are definitely influential in our lives, and can enhance the learning process in schools in various ways. With the increasing popularity of computer technology, it is essential for administrators to support and encourage computer technology in our education systems.

Computers are important in education because they force us to reconsider how people learn, how they are empowered, and what the nature of learning and useful information is. We cannot avoid the presence of computers in our schools because they are forcing educators to re-evaluate the very nature of what and how we teach.

An advantage of having computer-assisted instruction in the classroom is that the computer can serve as a tutor. Teachers can only aid students in the learning process so far. Computers can assist teachers and act as a tutor for the students who are falling behind. And as we know teachers do not have the time to repeat lessons over and over again, so, the computer will repeat material until each lesson has been sufficiently mastered, and that's mean no student will be overwhelmed because he or she is missing fundamentals.

One of the biggest problems in the world today is illiteracy. Each year thousands of students graduate from high school reading at the elementary school level, or not reading at all. Every student should have the opportunity to receive additional assistance when they need it. Teachers are doing the best they can with literacy issues in the classroom, and computers can reach the students that the teachers cannot.

Although the advantages of having computer technology in classrooms outweigh the disadvantages, and we can respect the concerns of the people who are against computer technology in the classroom. Many people argue the computer does all the work for the students, not allowing them the opportunity to digest what they have learned.

The implications of having computer technology in the schools are the belief that the computer will solve many of the problems that teachers cannot. These include helping students raise the standardized test scores, actually teaching students the basics such as reading and mathematics, and implying that the teachers have the skills and abilities needed to accurately aid students with their computer usage.

Education serves as a window through which our imagination and curiosity can take flight into the unknown and enhance our creativity, and the use of computer technology in education plays an enormous role in helping students to achieve their full development potential. Given the role that education plays in preparing students to go into the world, it seems clear that there should be a connection between the world and the classroom.

In conclusion, the advantages discussed concerning computer technology in the classroom outweigh the disadvantages. Computer technology is a positive supplement to bridge the gap between education and the technological world in which we live. Computer-assisted technologies in schools offer students greater access to information, an eager motivation to learn, a jump-start on marketable job skills and an enhanced quality of class work.

I am Nico Olmedo. I'm 20 years old, I live in Colonia Santa Rosa, Salta; but I study in Libertador General San Martin, Jujuy.
At the beginning, it was so hard because I had lots of problems because I had to travel every day. I had no friends here, I was feeling all alone. One day, I was at home, bored, and a classmate of mine came over to visit me and we talked for a couple of hours. That day, I went to school feeling more confident and I began to make lots of friends.
Nowadays, I am attending subjects from fourth year, but I am still in second year, lol! =D (because the correlativity regime allows me to do so =D). I feel so happy to be here, I found so many nice people, and I found love, too. :-O lol!!
Well, I study English because I like it so much, but I also like computers and maths!
