The best times to schedule are within an hour of sunrise and sunset when the light is beautiful!  The first session of each day starts as early as 6:00am and the last session of the day starts at 7:20. If you are not available during those times but would still like to schedule a session I would be happy to book as long as your aware that we will have to find shade near dunes or the Waterscape.

I have also put together a few “Special Mini Collections” if you would like to order any additional items. There is no requirement to to choose any additional special mini collection or a la carte items.

To request a session please fill out THIS FORM and I will respond within two hours with every detail so that our session will run smoothly and we will get the great images that you have always wanted!  Also, don’t forget to check back for some candid shots of our weekend!

I hope not…. most of those talks involved making fun of myself! I think Miss M here is so breathtaking that I just might have to enter her in a cover contest…..Yes, I said it I am feeling brave! LOL

I know, I know….Where have I been?  I had come so far in my work that I had to make sure that my blog reflected those changes. Every time I tried to post something new I was dreading sending more people to look at something that just wasn’t me anymore. So, I’m just going for it this time. I have broken a few rules, probably misspelled 1,000 words and have links that tell you a few jokes if you pay attention.

I am still making changes and having a few problems with my gallery images but FINALLY things are moving along here. Soon, actually soon! LOL

It was about two days ago when I realized my sweet baby girl had been here almost 3 years! I just can’t believe how grown up she is now….and yes, I don’t like it one bit! So we headed to the canal to feed the ducks while I soaked up every bit of little left in her.

Today I witnessed that some girls are just born with “that lip”! Have you ever seen anything so cute? Today at 12:19pm this beautiful pink bundle of rolls was born into this world weighing in at 8lbs 10oz! This family was just so sweet and watching you all experience this was a true gift! Thanks so much for letting me capture the great moments of today.

and a special few just for “La-La” who did a great job as a Big Sister and was the last one to leave the nursery window. She needed to make sure they gave her a bath before she left for lunch.

I had so much fun with this couple! We made a last minute change to do on location in City Park instead of their home and it worked out great! We were able to combine park and urban all in one. Shout out to the person that did the art work in this old shelter and to the fool that popped the lock before we got there! I think the location just fit them both so well! Dad was as cool as cool can be and mommy was stressing about all the details of her adorable outfits. They are so great together!
When mommy pulled those little Saints shoes out of her bag I almost melted! How cute are these!!! I once again am blessed with such adorable couples!!!! This sweet baby boy was born yesterday and I can’t wait to be a baby hog for a few hours!!! *I am already brain storming about nicknames for the bambino to add to Daddy’s long list I’m thinking “Blue Steel” ya know, because he is really really good lookin’!!

I have also mentioned in the petite preview of this birth that mom and I first knew each other as kids. After mom had the baby she looks and me and says, “Ten years ago I would have never guessed that Nicole Rome would be in the room when I had my baby!” It was so funny to think just how “Old” we are now and I couldn’t resist a pic from our Freshman year at Grace King High School. That is mom in the blue plaid (and big smile) and that is me (mouth full of braces) in the pink plaid. So great!!

I had so much fun on this session! The way this mommy and daddy-to-be look at each other just melted my heart. It only took running from the security guard at the first location to break the ice! We had so many laughs that my stomach hurt! They were both up for anything and that included driving to a secluded section of city park that I had found earlier. Only when we showed up all the beautiful tall grass had been cut! After a short hike we found a beautiful spot and I’m sure mommy was happy that I pulled out the blanket! We only had to swat off a few crazy bugs in the process. So many exciting things to come for this great couple! and Congrats, their beautiful baby girl just arrived and she is gorgeous!!!!

I sent mom a message about 4 days before sweet baby A came into the world and it said, “Please don’t go into labor for 24 hours! I’m sick!” her reply, “Well this week just isn’t working out for anyone so I’ll just wait.” I had to laugh. Only this mom would take everything in such stride. I have known her since we were teenagers but we only reconnected recently due to Facebook. I was beyond excited when she contacted me about photographing the birth of her third child!
I did almost miss it! I made myself take a nap after mom texted that things were going to happen sometime soon. I usually hand off my phone to Mr.M because I’m not always the best at waking up to things… like the alarm clock. Well, I fell asleep before I could and I rolled on top of the phone! I woke up at 4 am in a panic. Mom said she was headed to the hospital 4 hours ago! I texted right away and she was 9cm already! I am not even sure what clothes I put on that morning and can only say for sure that I brushed my teeth!
It was a whirlwind and after mom being up all night we took a short break to let mom and and came back together when Big Sister and Big Brother came up to meet baby A. There is just something about the way a siblings gets SO nervous, excited and sometimes could careless that I just LOVE!
Thanks mom and dad for having me at the birth of baby A! I can’t wait to show you the full slideshow!

That’s right tomorrow morning dad deploys for duty overseas. I cannot imagine being in either one of their shoes right now as I am sure this tight family is a bundle of a million emotions. I ran into mom and dad at a mutual friends’ home while they were here on vacation. We then decided to cram in a photo session into their very packed vacation/daddy preparing to deploy trip. As soon as I say,
“Sure, I’d love to take your family portraits!” I hear mom say, “Yes, I love photography! I have a degree in Art and I minored in photography.” GULP! I was nervous! I’ll admit that I studied some(vintage) famous family portraits before this session. I did know that I already had a leg up because the entire family was so beautiful!
Then we, by chance, both mention the same location in Storyland for the session. I was thrilled as I have been dying to shoot a family at Storyland and the amusement park! We show up and it is closed! The wrong spring hours were posted on the website. So now I’m really winging it! We ran over to the sculpture garden and did as much as possible before we were escorted out because it too closes awfully early. We look around like now what? We already had discussed not doing the same old City Park pics so my brain was running a mile a minute. Dad decided it was time for the kids to enjoy their first snowball and the short car ride was the perfect break. I remembered an area that gets beautiful light at sunset and I had never used anything like it before. I think it worked perfectly! We had privacy so everyone could be themselves-and space to let the kids run!
