FOTD's using Sugarpill's Sweetheart Quad!

When Sugarpill had their little Halloween sale, I finally decided to pick up a quad! This quad is the one with Dollipop (hot pink), Midori (bright green), Afterparty (vibrant blue), and Tako (matte white). I'm not gonna do a review on it since there are soo many reviews on this quad already! So far I've used Midori, Dollipop, and Tako in a look, but nothing too crazy yet.

hey guys,

I know it's been forever since I've updated; don't worry, I haven't forgotten about this blog! I've just been enjoying my 3 week vacation in Hong Kong and Japan, but now I'm back in the US. I'll try to find the time to update this thing still, but I'm moving into college dorms next week, so I'm just trying to relax and pack my stuff together.

As for youtube videos, I'll try filming/uploading a haul or tutorial using stuff I got from HK and Japan. Honestly though, I've been so jetlagged and tired lately ahhhh (it's 630 am, and I'm still not asleep!). I'll really try though; hopefully by monday, I'll get some sort of video up.

So anyways, just wanted to share with you all that I JUST got a Nikon D90 yesterday, so I'm super excited! Got a pretty exciting upcoming week: sleeping over with friends, the Lady Gaga concert on the 16th (floor seats, yo!), and going to Hong Kong on the 17th (you know what that means--shopping!!). I'll be in Hong Kong for a few weeks, so I probably won't be filming much, but I'll probably post hauls and just random pictures on the blog!

k I feel like I'm forgetting to mention something, but whatevaaaa I'll just leave it at this. :P

oh and I bleached out the purple in my hair lol. dunno if I should keep it blonde or dye it pink. anyone?

NOTD - Sally Hansen Snappy Sorbet

Felt like I haven't been wearing any of my brights lately, so I tried on Sally Hansen's Snappy Sorbet. Like most of the insta-dri's, application was a bit goopy, but nothing a little thinner can't fix. Only 2 coats of this for even application! The color looks a bit neon here, and it's tad less shimmery in real life I think. Snappy Sorbet is a bright creamy coral with some subtle silver shimmer; a really fun color, I love it!

The New Traincase: Reviewed!

Soooo excited to post about this! After weeks of lemming, I caved in a bought this traincase off of ebay for only $30! When it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised at how big it actually was. I can fit so much stuff in it: all my eyeshadows, nearly all of my blushes, and about 1/3 of my lip products. So glad I picked this over those tiny caboodles traincases!

This traincase has two latches with locks that keep everything secured. Probably not the most effective locks, but better than nothing! I tried twisting the lock and such w/out a key, and I couldn't open it (or perhaps I wasn't trying hard enough haha). It also comes with 2 keys and removable shoulder strap (not pictured).

After opening the package and looking at the latches, I began examining the inside. I was disappointed at the dividers, the faux leather layer had already started peeling off, but it was easily fixable with a bit of super glue. A little more difficult to fix was the broken part of the traincase. After playing with the tiers a little bit, I noticed that the base of the tiers kept moving up and down because of there was a damaged part. After a little repairing, everything worked fine.

I don't really mind the minor imperfections. I expected that it wouldn't be the best quality with the price! Also, this ebay seller has a pretty good exchange/refund policy (though buyer does have to pay for shipping), but I didn't want to wait another week for a new traincase to arrive. I'm too impatient!

It has a large storage area below; I could fit my 88 palette, 120 palette, blushes, several other palettes, and probably even more down there! I could fit Loreal HIP duos and Hard Candy e/s right next to the 88 palette PERFECTLY! Pretty much no moving space, feels secure! It had enough space that I could place my Too Faced palette upright.

The top sections, I put most of my eyeshadows. I was able to fit 5 pigment sample per row, and MAC pigment vials could be placed upright w/out any problem with closing. I could also place WnW palettes on their sides, and Sonia Kashuk & Maybelline palettes fit snuggly in the back. 4 Urban Decay shadows also fit comfortably in one row. You can also fit MAC quads by laying them flat (the trays are wide enough), however they are too tall to lay on the side (uhhhhh I make sense right??).

The bottom trays, I mostly put lip stuff, but I also have some blushes and misc products in there as well. You could probably have 4 sections per tray that would perfectly fit MAC lipsticks. Pictured, I was able to put 8 lipsticks of both MAC and Revlon. However, squared lipsticks do not fit well (such as the Revlon CB and Maybelline CS). When I tried to stack two layers of the square lipsticks, the traincase would not close properly.

Overall, I'm satisfied with this traincase. The broken section and unglued dividers don't bother me much, however if anyone does receive this broken, I'm sure the seller would be glad to send you another one. Everything else feels pretty sturdy to me. Although this is inexpensive, this looks very sleek and professional. I also love that customizable dividers were provided, keeps everything so much more organized!

I think this would be a great traincase for someone looking into freelancing, but they don't want to spend too much money on one. Also, this would be perfect for college! I'm definitely going to bring this to my dorm next year! I think this one is especially great for the price, considering the Caboodles traincases are $25-$30 for one perhaps half the size of this one.

okay off topic, but today I finally got my traincase! It's actually bigger than I expected, whatever I'll just do a thorough post on it tomorrow. I'll probably also film and upload another tutorial tomorrow, just a heads up! :P

oh and I installed intensedebate on here now. That'll be more fun, right? :D

Today, I have on Zoya's Suvi. I got little nubs now, so I decided to go with a vampy color. Suvi has a dark greenish charcoal base with loads of cool green microshimmers. Even though it's so dark, it still looks green in most lights, which I absolutely love! It also has this glowy effect where it's darker around the edges. I applied 3 thin coats to achieve complete opacity, but you probably could get away with 2.

NYC Blushable Creme Sticks - Swatches and Short Review

After all the raves on MUA, I decided to purchase 4 NYC Blushable Creme Sticks: Big Apple Blush, Berry New Yorker, Wild Berry, and Plaza Pink. I believe Wild Berry is the only one that is limited edition. I also wanted to pink up Pink Flash (a beautiful coral), but I couldn't find it anywhere! I gotta say, I'm very impressed with these blushes! They apply beautifully, and blend well.

Application: I like to just dot some of the product lightly on my cheeks, and blend it all out with a blush brush, or any large fluffy face brush. To get these to stay, I also set with powder.

Big Apple Blush - Not sure how to describe the color of this, but it reminds me of a nude-y pink color. It has a bit of frost to it, but nothing too noticeable. I think this would be a perfect everyday blush that would look great for most looks, and just gives a natural flushed look.

Berry New Yorker - With a misleading name, Berry New Yorker is a matte mauve-y blush. This gives my NC30 skintone a nice and natural glow.

Wild Berry - Perhaps my favorite one of the bunch, Wild Berry is a matte bright mid-tone pink with blue undertones. I just love bright colors so this blush easily is my favorite. I prefer matte blushes on myself, so I see myself using this one more than the others. Also, the perfect color for summer!

Plaza Pink - Not very pink at all. This one is more of a frosty peach color. Plaza Pink gives a beautiful sheen when blended out that can give you a great dewy look, imo!

Overall, I think these blushes are great quality. All are nicely pigmented and blendable. On my oily skin however, I find they don't stay very well and slip off after a couple hours, but these are also great to enhance powder blushes or change the tones and color slightly. Putting powder (either a different blush or even a setting powder) over these will also make them last much longer. When I use these blushes, I apply them right after foundation, then I put my setting powder on top. This will set the product betters and allow it to blend more easily.

I think cream blush fanatics will absolutely love this product. Personally, I would prefer using powder blushes over cream blushes just in general. Powder blushes just seem easier to use in my opinion. However, given the price ($3.99 at most drugstores), I will continue to purchase these in the future!

China Glaze Awakening Collection for Halloween Scrangie (one of my favorite swatchers) gives us a China Glaze sneak peek! Totally lemming Mummy May I? and Zombie Zest!

Gojane.com perhaps one of the best places to buy shoes from online, with hundreds of affordable options. Took advantage of their 20% sale yesterday and got a pair of platform wedges, a pair of booties, a romper, and a button-up shirt all for just $65 shipped!

MUAers' favorite drugstore products! it's always fun to see other people's favorites. if you're on a limited budget like me, DS makeup is the way to go! numerous MUAers share their favorite shades and products in this post -- very helpful!

Miu Miu Fall 2010 Campaign I just love the makeup and the mustard/navy colors, inspires me to do a makeup tutorial! ;D Those glasses are also hot hot hot.

Cognac Braided Wedges. I decided that I definitely needed some more heels (I only have 2 pairs!). I was stuck between choosing those wedges and these tan wedges. I decided on these ones because I think the wedge would be more suitable year round, don't you?

Buckle Strap Booties. I've been eyeing similar ones at Aldo for so long, but didn't really want to spend $70+ on these. So when I saw these, I definitely had to get them!

Sheer Charcoal Pinstripe Top. I've been liking sheers lately for layering, so I just got this basic piece haha.

Black Tank Romper. Just a romper to wear on lazy days. I'm also thinking of wearing these with tights and a leather jacket in the winter. ^_^
