Chude Jideonwo has explained how taking time to examine his personal life helped him become more deliberate about his choices, from the work he accepts to his views on marriage and having children.

Speaking on the Beyond With Ezinne podcast, the media personality recalled how he began writing extensively about himself in 2015. He used the process to examine his fears, insecurities, relationships and personal desires, asking himself difficult questions about what he wanted from life.

For Jideonwo, understanding himself also meant learning to say no to opportunities that did not align with his interests, regardless of how much money they could bring.

He said he had become clear about his identity and preferences by 2016, explaining that he no longer wanted to spend his time doing things he did not enjoy.

He said:

“For at least since 2016, I’ve been clear who I am. I don’t do anything I don’t enjoy doing. I don’t do any business I don’t enjoy doing. I don’t do any speaking engagement. I don’t like doing panels, for instance, unless it’s Bill Gates that’s inviting me or Joe Biden. I’m not doing it.

“It’s not that, oh, it was a potential million dollars, because I’m like, this person, I’m going to suffer. I’m going to have to navigate.

“From the public, I understood that the public is not my friend. What I didn’t do was I had to do it for the private as well.

“When you’re diagnosed with depression, you have nowhere to go. You are locked in your mind.

“So in 2015, I journaled like a mad person. What do I love? Who do I love? How do I like to be loved? What am I insecure about? You know, I wrote down, what am I afraid of? I wrote down the six things I’m afraid of. And I thought, what is the worst that will happen if these things happen?”.

Beyond examining his fears, Jideonwo said he also thought about what would happen if he died and whether he had made adequate plans for the people and causes that mattered to him.

He recalled writing his will when he was around 30 or 31, with particular attention to his mother and an organisation he supports.

“I wrote my will in 2015 or 2016, when I was 30, 31. Because I’m like, when I talk about what’s the worst that will happen if I d!e? And I thought, okay, I need to take care of my mother. I need to take care of the NGO that I contribute to.

“I love RED from the bottom of my heart, but PR is not what I want to do every day.

“So I wrote down, who do I want to get married to? Do I want to get married? That’s when I realized that I didn’t want to have children. It’s a big thing to realize as a human being. Yeah. To realize as an only child. Of a mother that I love dearly, and who I want to do everything for.”

His decision not to have children was particularly significant because he is an only child and has a close relationship with his mother. He acknowledged that reaching that conclusion was a major personal realisation, especially given how much he loves her.

His account highlights the questions he considered while deciding what he wanted his future to look like, including whether marriage and parenthood were right for him.

Adedibu Biopic Dispute: Oloketuyi Petitions Police Over Alleged Threats

Filmmaker Seun Oloketuyi has petitioned the Inspector-General of Police, seeking an investigation into members of the family of late Ibadan politician Lamidi Adedibu over alleged threats to his life, cyberbullying and criminal defamation.

The petition, dated October 16, follows an ongoing dispute between Oloketuyi and the Adedibu family over the biopic, Adedibu: Alagbara Ibadan.

The family had accused the filmmakers of releasing the production without their consent and presenting misleading accounts of the late politician’s personal life and political activities. They demanded that the film be removed, a public apology issued and N500m paid in damages.

In response, Oloketuyi’s lawyers maintained that the production was based on publicly available information about Adedibu and expressed willingness to examine specific aspects of the film challenged by the family.

However, in a letter dated October 12, the family’s lawyers rejected the response, describing it as “condescending and legally flawed”.

They argued that the film violated the late politician’s privacy and contained false claims about his marriage, personal life and political career.

The family also alleged that the production identified Adedibu’s wife, friends and associates while making what they described as “false claims of insubordination and control, dishonesty and corruption”.

Their lawyers further accused Oloketuyi of defamation of living relatives, invasion of privacy, copyright infringement and unauthorised commercial use of the late politician’s personality.

The family gave the filmmaker 72 hours to remove the film, disclose the sources of the allegedly private information and provide YouTube analytics showing the revenue generated by the production.

They warned that failure to comply would prompt legal action at the Oyo State High Court, alongside complaints to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission and the Nigerian Copyright Commission.

“We shall also file a counter-notification to YouTube attaching this reply showing your admission of using family photos,” the letter reads in part.

The lawyers also dismissed Oloketuyi’s allegations of injurious falsehood, insisting that their client had not published false information about him.

“Your threats of injurious falsehood is laughable. Truth is our defence. We have not published anything false about your client. You published falsehood about ours for money,” the letter stated.

Oloketuyi Alleges Threats Over Biopic

In his petition to the police chief, Oloketuyi accused Bose Adedibu and other family members of threatening him following the release of the film.

He alleged that he received calls from private numbers warning that he would be harmed unless he removed the production.

The filmmaker also accused the family of using social media to describe him as a “thief, scammer, fraud and criminal”.

He asked the IGP to direct the appropriate investigative units, including the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre and the Force Criminal Investigation Department, to investigate the allegations without delay.

“In view of the foregoing, we respectfully request that your office: treat this petition as a matter of urgency and direct the appropriate investigative unit, including the NPF National Cybercrime Centre and the Force Criminal Investigation Department, to receive it and commence investigation immediately,” the petition reads in part.

Oloketuyi also requested immediate protection, asking the police to take measures to safeguard his life and prevent further alleged threats.

“Take immediate and effective steps to protect our client’s life and safety, and to prevent any further threats against him,” the petition stated.

Filmmaker Seeks Questioning Of Family Members

The filmmaker further asked the police to invite Bose and other family members allegedly involved in the threats and online publications for questioning.

“Invite the Suspect and every member of her family implicated in the threats and publications for questioning, and, where warranted, take such lawful measures as are necessary to secure their attendance,” the petition added.

He also urged the police to caution those concerned against further alleged threats and publications describing him as a fraudster, scammer, thief or criminal.

“Caution the Suspect and her family to cease forthwith all threats against our client and all publications branding him a fraud, scammer, thief or criminal,” the petition stated.

The dispute remains centred on the family’s objections to the film’s content and alleged use of private material, alongside Oloketuyi’s claims of intimidation and online harassment.

The allegations made by both sides have not been established as findings of a court.

Edith alleged that he accused her of disturbing him and told her not to call the number again because he was working. She said she has continued waiting for the refund since September 1, but the man has now stopped answering her calls.

She said:

"Good morning, afternoon or evening depending on when you're seeing this video. My name is Edith Ekanem. I want to beg Nigerians please help me look for Mr Jacob Zingdam. On the first of September, I mistakenly sent 900K to his account. When I noticed I made the mistake I immediately called my pos agent and told him they should block the account that I just made a wrong transfer and which the agent said I should hold on. That he had already called the man that he should refund me the money.

"The agent also sent me the man's number to speak with him. Which I did. We spoke and he spoke to me in a polite manner. He made me believe he will send back that money. He asked me to send him my account number which I did. I waited for hours, and then called back. He said I was disturbing him. That I shouldn't call this line again that he's working. I've waited from the 1st till date, this man is no longer picking my calls."

Edith is now seeking assistance from anyone who may have information that could help her establish contact with the man and recover the money. Her account of the incident centres on the initial promise of a refund and her subsequent inability to reach the recipient.

Tyler Perry is set to bring a new faith-based drama to audiences with The Gospel of Christmas, which will premiere exclusively on Netflix on November 11, 2026.

The upcoming film is written and directed by Perry, who also serves as one of its producers alongside Angi Bones and Tony L. Strickland. The production combines faith, family, temptation and community struggles in a story centred on a pastor facing an extraordinary challenge before the Christmas season.

At the heart of the movie is Isaac, a struggling pastor who unexpectedly inherits his family’s church in a tough neighbourhood in New York City. While the inheritance gives him an opportunity to continue his family’s legacy, the responsibility also places him in a difficult position as he attempts to keep the church and its community together.

Isaac’s journey is complicated by doubt and temptation, forcing him to confront questions about his faith and his ability to lead the people who depend on him.

His challenges become even greater when he encounters a sinister adversary named Mr. Ehtmai Lived, portrayed by Ricco Ross. The character becomes a major threat to Isaac’s efforts to protect his community and fulfil his responsibility as a pastor.

With the holidays approaching, Isaac must find the strength to overcome the obstacles confronting him and use his faith to help save the community.

Tank Leads As Pastor Isaac

Durrell “Tank” Babbs takes on the lead role of Isaac, the pastor at the centre of the story.

Tank is joined by Fantasia Barrino Taylor, who plays Rebecca, Isaac’s wife. Their characters form part of the personal side of the story as Isaac struggles to balance his responsibilities as a husband, pastor and community leader.

Ricco Ross portrays Mr. Ehtmai Lived, the sinister adversary standing in Isaac’s way.

The conflict between Isaac and his adversary adds tension to the narrative, particularly as the pastor attempts to overcome both external threats and the doubts and temptations affecting his own faith.
