[2D] [Flash] Skeleton Jack : The widescreen Re-release!

2014-05-02T12:33:00.000+08:00

Hello community! Some of you may remember the final year project for MMU's film and animation course which I made about 5 years ago.

With the growing trend of widescreen and HD, I decided to revisit this project and re-export it in wiiiidescreeen and in (subpar) HD!

As a little bonus, sound effects and soundtrack has also been reworked to make use of the experience I've gained from listening to sound artists do the thing they do in games and movies.

Also I can't believe that this mess of a making-of website is still alive. Well, I guess if you're into making of's there's that abomination of a blog.

[2D] [Flash] Nosemilk Banana Party!

2014-05-02T12:24:00.000+08:00

Some days, I just want to animate something of my own free of creative constraints and requirements.

This was the result.

Never thought I would revisit the day where I would once again be animating dancing bananas.

Head to the albinoblacksheep link here to see what I mean.

[Flash] [2D] That is not Solid Snake!

2014-05-02T12:18:00.002+08:00

That is NOT Solid Snake!

One of the most memorable quotes from Metal Gear Solid 2. The line was performed by Jack Renard from Broad Spectrum Studios for their excellent Hiimdaisy comic re-imagination video which you can see below!

So I got a new rear-visor for my car and I decided to document putting it on. This edit is inspired by those auto shows showing their fancy cars with neat camera angles.

[Cine] How to make noodles in one minute

2014-05-02T12:09:00.001+08:00

Hey look who just got a new camera! The Sony Handycam PJ380! It has great quality recordings and takes nice night shots! So here's me making noodles for lunch.

This will probably be the first official [Cine] tag which would stand for cinematography posts in general.

Dang, got to find the source file for that Flash header.

[3D] Stealth Action Flick : The Work In Progress

2014-05-02T12:00:00.003+08:00

Hello community!

There was a thing that I was working on a few years back involving spies and mercenaries which I dug up from the good ol' days.

However, due to my rust in 3DS Max, I decided to convert the project into a Maya deal.

This is a re-rigging of the model of days old.

Yes, crudely animated. But seems to have all the range of motions that I'm looking for.

[3D] Fat Proton Gen 2 made and animated in Maya

2014-05-02T11:49:00.001+08:00

I almost forgot I had this blog! I was wondering what features Youtube has that enables you to communicate with your viewers then I remembered Youtube was part of Google which Blogspot is also affiliated with.

Ah. The loop. I'm so out of it.

Anyway, here's something that I did a while back. Was training myself to develop some kind of simple car rig. With reference from my good friend Yew Lee, I managed to come up with something for my Proton Gen 2 which I made a chibi model of.

What you just saw was a silly unpolished rig test.

The one you see above has a slightly tidied up animation for making my car dance next to my car.

That's probably all the time I plan to invest in this little project. It's DONE.

I'M DONE.

[Flash] [2D] Direct and Dominate

2012-08-25T16:06:00.001+08:00

Click the image above to play Direct and Dominate on Newgrounds!

I have recently made an interactive novel decision-based game inspired by Westwood's original Command and Conquer in 1995.

Share your endings! Share your Comments & Criticisms! Kindly give comments and criticism regarding how well the "game" works. For example, is the game too short? Are the choices too plenty? Is the music horrible? Is the UI intuitive? What do you like about it? How could it have been done better?

The problems with it as far as I can tell so far but don't really have the resources to fix, is that some of the choices end quickly and some other choices end much later. This will be balanced in the next episode. I'm keeping artstyle grayscale for now since I'm color blind and if you look at my old work, were EYE RAZOR DUST.

I'm approaching the next episode with a more character focused approach. What I mean by this is that you won't be making a decision for a huge group of random soldiers but for a single person. This will all take place within the fictional universe of alternate Tiberian Dawn.

Thanks for being the first "testers" of this little project!

[Flash Animation] Baby Pupa Vs The Cone

2010-10-15T23:06:00.002+08:00

Wow how many MGS:Peace Walker related posts exactly am I going to post amirite?

Wait, that line seems familiar. =___= NOPE! Never used it. Aha.

This is a minor project done during my spare time. Clearly, this monstrosity is from that game Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker which I am by now totally numb towards to.

The Pupa still fascinates me due to its flexibility. In-game, her motions remind me of an adorable little girl running around gleefully and happens to accidentally crash into you quite often.

This animation is supposed to convey that emotion but without the murderous rage.

This Baby Pupa model, which has no weapons, (and a school bag on it's hind quarters) was designed by me. I made the general silhouette of the Pupa still recognizable and yet added a bit of squash and stretch. So you could say it is slightly-super-deformed.

Software used, Maya. And of course Flash for embedding into an .swf.

Wow how many MGS:Peace Walker related posts exactly am I going to post amirite?

The following animation was done for albinoblacksheep.com's TOFA contest! It's basically a tournament of flash artists and again, I submitted last minute work due to lack of inspiration or maybe it was the MGS:Peace Walker marathon that I was performing. Who knows?!

tl;dr : I lost

After leaving the party for other directives, I decided to check on the party through a window.

Yup. Still partying. Rock on.

[Metal Gear Solid 4] The Dedicated High-Fiver

2010-07-11T20:13:00.000+08:00

He's the dedicated high-fiver. Don't leave him hanging!

He desperately needs a palm of roughly equal size to slap his own leather-gloved hand into connection.

Will no one answer is call for a high-five?

Never mind. He can high-five that armored vehicle. Screw the rest of you who left him hanging.

Watch me buy this. Just you watch. Big Boss Play Arts Kai Peace Walker Jungle Fatigues version

2010-06-27T22:42:00.002+08:00

Hi all, this is the Play Arts Kai figurine of Big Boss from Peace Walker the Jungle Fatigues version.

From Hobby Japan mag August issue. Wait wat. It's barely July yet!

-preorders the crap out of it-

I like this more than the Sneaking Suit version because this one reminds me more of Metal Gear Solid 3.

Good thing I waited before I bought the Sneaking Suit version. Here's the Sneaking Suit version for comparisons sake.

My Very Own Peace Walker T-Shirt

I have been wearing it for two days straight. -sniffs the shirt- aah~ the smell of Japan.

My PSP-1000 causes global warming

2010-05-23T22:40:00.000+08:00

My PSP recently had its power switch shorted or something. There was a point when I couldn't turn it on at all.

Then thanks to the magic of youtube, I was able to find a video explaining how to turn it on without using the power switch.

Brush your screwdriver gently over the power-connectors

And just like that, it was working again!

Unfortunately, when closing up the PSP, I bumped it a little and the battery came out and it shut itself down. Thus requiring me to unscrew everything back out then open it back up again and redo that brushy screwdriver stunt.

Long story short, I now have a working PSP that I cannot shut down unless I want to disassemble and reassemble my PSP every 3 hours.

It is coming up for sale to those who would like to own a Planet-Destroyer-Class PSP soon because I'm going to get me one of THESE:

The fulton works in mysterious ways.

Haha silly Big Boss.

Haha you can't spell therapist without the rapist.

I drew this one because as an animator I was really bothered by the lack of facial expressions in Peace Walker's in-game cutscenes.

Looking forward to this game! Soundtrack is pure awesomeness!
