I read a bunch of good reviews for Tigi Bed Head After Party and I wanted to have it. It was quite cheap (compared to salon prices here in Slovenia) on Fragrance Direct, so I ordered it online. Along with a bunch of lipstick I'll probably never wear/use. I like to buy lipstick, but when it comes to wearing them - fail. At least they were cheap. Althought I really need to get my buying urges under control.

For those of you who have experiences with Tigi After Party, I would be happy to get your opinion about it. It's just like with so many other things - it's important that I have it, although I'm not sure what to use it for or how. Any advice?

Aaand swatches of the lipsticks. Playboy one is my least favorite, but I really like the CK ones and Maybelline Mauve Diamonds. And of course the Rimmel by Kate ones. Not a total miss when it comes to colors, but only if I get myself to wear them too.

piCture pOlish - Ocean by Kelly's Kolors

It's so freaking hot here... A dip in the ocean would feel so good right now, but it will have to wait until September. Until then, I can swim in the depths of piCture pOlish in Ocean, created with Kelly from Kelly's Kolors.

Ocean is yet another shade from the piCture pOlish 'scattered holographic collection'. Well, it's not really a collection, but they've created a nice variety of shades with this sort of shimmer. These are my favorite types of piCture pOlish lacquers. Ocean is a turquoise blue jelly shade which needs 3 coats for opacity. I used three layers and you can still see a bit of my nail line. Althought I wanted to love it (like the rest shades with scattered holo shimmer), it has some downsides that really bother me. Besides from not being opaque in 2 coats, it stained my nails. Ocean instantly made my nails yellow-ish, so I strongly recommed a use of base coat with this one. It's not all that bad though. The brush is flexible, flat and great to work with. Formula is great as well and the application was a breeze.

Lisa and Bombi still spend a great deal of time together. They're playing most of the time and when Lisa hunts, he sits beside her not really knowing what to do. My precious.

My sisters dog Tara passed away on 21st of February. She got a new doggy and she looks a lot like Tara. Her name is Zoya. I swear I had nothing to do with the name. I was actually thinking of giving this name to my daughter (if I ever had one).

How To: At the End of the Rainbow

Wanna have a rainbow of colors on your nails? No problem. Follow my easy peasy tutorial for rainbow nails with golden treasure sprinkled all over them.

Here's what you'll need:

* white nail polish

* polishes in the colors of the rainbow (red, yellow, green, blue and purple)

* golden glitter top coat

* sponge

1 - Paint your nails with white nail polish. Allow the nails to dry completely.

2 - Cut up the sponge into smaller pieces. Paint the sponge with two colors: I started with red and yellow, continued with yellow and green, etc ... Try dabbing the sponge onto a piece of paper before you stamp the colors on the nails. The colors I used: BYS Point Blank, BYS The Right Bright, BYS Colour Change Blue, BYS Blue Bolt and Color Club Puccilicious.

3 - Stamp the color onto your nails. It'll be messy, but a little bit of acetone and a cotton swab will take care of that. Just dip the swab into your nail polish remover and gently remove the paint from your fingers and cuticles. Brush might be useful too (for the delicate parts).

4 - Here's how it looks after the clean-up. You can stop here and apply a layer of top coat over the rainbow gradient.

5 - For those of you who wanna go all the way to the end of the rainbow, there's a pot filled with golden glitter. Apply a layer of it over the gradient and you're done. I used BYS Gold Finger.

Now all you have to do is enjoy your rainbow manicure.

New(ish) Beauty UK Glam Nails Shades

I'm not completely sure when these colors came out/became available, but they're pretty new to me. These are the new 5 shades from the Beauty UK Glam Nails collection.

I can't say the same for all of the shades above. Some of them are better than the others. Let's start with my least favorite - Bon Bon. It needs three coats for full opacity while others are 2-coaters. Gobstopper and Jelly Bean dry into a semi-matte (satiny) finish, the other three colors are glossy. The application was pretty easy and the brush is OK. They're not the best polishes you'll ever try, but they're worth the price. Well, except for the Bon Bon.

Review: Born Pretty Store - Music Flower Mascara in Blue

The only time I wish my eyelashes were blonde is when I want to wear electric blue mascara. I love electric blue and I don't want it only on my nails, I want it on my lashes as well. That's why I chose this Music Flower Mascara in electric blue color from Born Pretty Store for reviewing purposes.

See how perfect this color is?

Sadly the color doesn't show that much on my dark brown eyelashes. I don't blame the mascara, I blame my lashes. Oh, how pretty would this look on blonde lashes... *sigh* I applied two generous coats of mascara and the color is visible, but far from what I wanted it to look.

So, the outcome wasn't totally what I wanted. So I thought: maybe it would help if I applied something white to my lashes first? Well, I went and painted NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk on my lashes. It was a bit messy, but the color is more visible now. Ignore the fact I look ill with blue lashes. It might look better without the white underneath after all. =) Besides, in my case, cool things always look better on others.

About the mascara... I don't like reviewing mascaras because they don't work the same on different people. I wanted to try this one solely for the color. It's still a nice mascara. It adds length, but not a lot of volume. It didn't irritate my eyes and it didn't flake on me.

China Glaze Hologlam Disappointment

It's been a while since my last China Glaze nail lacquer purchase - I believe it was Glittering Garland. Not too long ago, I bought two most popular shades from the Hologlam collection: Galactic Gray and When Stars Collide. They were the ones I thought were worth owning.

I don't think I've ever been so disappointed in China Glaze nail polish as I was in these two. They were supposed to be amongst the favorites from the collection (by many bloggers), but I can't say I like them. Why? For two reasons: application and color. The formula of these two polishes was weird: goopy and hard to apply. The color is just... boring. It looks so mediocre in low light and when the sun hits it, there's just a little itsy bitsy hint of holographic effect. So underwhelming. I wanted to put them in the 'to get rid of' bin immeditaly, but I'm gonna give them a second chance. If they fail to gain my attention again, they're going away. Now I'm wondering: why are other people loving these two shades so much? Did I get a bad batch or are the other shades from the Hologlam collection even worse in comparison? I'm not sure, I only know I do not like them. Period.

My First iHerb Purchase

For those of you who aren't familiar with it: iHerb is an online store that sells nutritional supplements and other healthy natural products. I've heard a lot of good things about it and finally placed my first order about a month ago. I purchased 3 products :

* African Black Soap with Oats, Aloe & Vitamin E

* Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque

* 21st Century Biotin Capsules (5000 mcg)

I got to pick a free product with my order. I chose Madre Bees Organic Honey Lip Balm.

African Black Soap ($3.37) has a lot of very good reviews on MakeUpAlley, so I decided to order one for my mother. She prefers solid soaps to shower gels and says this soap is really good. I only used it once on my face, so I can't say whether I'd recommend it or not, but my mother seems to like it.

As I said, Madre Bees Organic Honey Lip Balm was a freebie. It's not my favorite lip balm, but it is quite good. It's not a heavy duty balm, so if your lips are chapped, you're gonna need something stronger.

Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque ($3.84) is supposed to help dry up acne pimples, rinse away blackheads & shrink enlarged pores. It's not a miracle product, but I like it. My skin is normal/combination and this masks burns a bit, so I guess it's not the best product for sensitive skin, but I bet it would work very well for those with oily skin and pimples.

21st Century Biotin ($4.96) capsules are something that was supposed to help me with my nail problems. My nails are quite weak and they peel all the time. After taking these capsules with 5000 mcg biotin, I've noticed less breaking and peeling, but the peeling didn't stop completely. It's definitely better than it was before.

Organic tea is another thing you can buy at iHerb. I got this St. Dalfour Organic Spring Mint Green Tea as a sample and although I don't drink as much green tea as I used to, it was very nice for a change. Tea lovers, check it out!

It's been a while since I've placed this order on iHerb. In fact, I got two other orders from iHerb in this time. I'll tell you about those products after I try them out. Dance Legend - Aztec no. 7

Time is going by so fast and I still have some Dance Legend polishes to show you. Let's continue with another polish from the Aztec collection. This one is no. 7.

As I mentioned in my previous Dance Legend Aztec no. 4 post, Aztec collection consists of 8 different top coats with irregular glitter particles in different colors. No. 7 consists of particles in black and white color.

I'm really sorry, but I can't remember which red polish I used as a base for this layering manicure. Yeah, I forgot to write it down. But that's not the most important thing right now. Aztec no. 7 is a very nice top coat if you're into the look it creates. Flat brush makes the application easy and formula is very good as well. Using this top coat is a great way to freshen up your exsisting manicure (if it's not too chipped) and making it more interesting.

Review: Vicco Turmeric Skin Cream with Sandalwood Oil

Vicco Turmeric Skin Cream (with Sandalwood Oil) AKA the cream that saved my ~~ass~~ skin. About a month ago, I had a major allergy breakout on my face. I still don't know what caused it, but I *can* say it was pure hell - itchy bumps that wouldn't go away and when I scratched them bloody (I'm like that), they wouldn't heal. That's when I started using this ayurvedic skin cream by Vicco. Maybe it's a coincidence, but my skin has gotten a lot better since then. Wanna know more about it? Read on.

Let's see what the package says:

''Vicco Turmeric, an Ayurvedic Medicine, prevents and cures skin infections, inflammation, blemishes, wounds and other skin disorders. It soothes boils, pimples, acne and burns. It nourishes the skin, improves tonal value and makes it fair and beautiful.''

Ingredients: Extract of Turmeric 16% w/w, Sandalwood Oil 0,5% w/w, Excipients q.s. (in a non-greasy base)

I'm not gonna tell you about all the good effects turmeric has on skin, you can search for that information yourselves. What I can say is how this cream made my skin heal and look better in just one week. My previous favorite ayurvedic skin cream Fair & Lovely Fairness cream didn't work as well anymore as it did on the beginning, so I thought it was time for a change. I don't know for sure yet, but I think I might like Vicco even better.

Vicco Turmeric Skin Cream is pretty thick, pearly yellow and it has a very strong scent. And I mean STRONG. It doesn't botter me at all anymore, but it was pretty hardcore the first couple of times I used it.

This cream spreads very well and sinks into the skin almost immediately after the application leaving it soft and mattified. It's great for people with normal to oily skin, but not for those with dry skin. At first I thought it might be a bit too mattifying for my normal/combination skin, but it gets better after 30 minutes after the application. I've been using this cream for about a month now (in the morning and evening) and I can say I really, really like it. I'm definitely buying another tube before I use this one up!

I purchased a 50 g tube of Vicco Turmeric Skin Cream with Sandalwood Oil (there's also a version without SO) on Ebay for 7.50 USD and free shipping.

New Favorite: Beauty UK Posh Polish in Olympic Gold

I recently got a bunch of Beauty UK polishes to swatch and this precious golden chrome shade was one of them. It's called Olympic Gold and it belongs to the Foil Collection of Beauty UK's Posh Polish line. Foil Collection consists of three shades: Gold, Silver and Bronze, but I haven't tried the other two. If they're as good as this one, they're both worth owning.

Yeah, that's right. Olympic Gold is a pure 1-coater. I haven't tried them side by side, but I think this might be even better than my previous favorite golden chrome China Glaze 2030. The application was easy peasy, formula is great and drying time was short. This is love, you guys! Don't let the name of the collection this polish belong to fool you - you might think this is foil polish, but the shimmer in it is way to small to be called a foil. It's definitely a chrome! And a very good one too.

If you're looking for a golden chrome nail polish, I strongly suggest you try this one. If it doesn't knock your socks off, I don't know what will.

Review: LUSH Products

When I think of LUSH, I think of that LUSH store smell... It's a special one and you can't walk pass the store without noticing it. Oh, the smell... *takes a deep breath* I've been testing 4 LUSH products in the last couple of weeks:

* Vanilla Puff Dusting Powder

Ko pomislim na LUSH, se najprej spomnim na vonj v njihovih trgovinah. Zagotovo ga poznate vse ljubiteljice LUSH kozmetike, pa tudi tiste, ki se sprehodite le mimo trgovine. Vonj je vsekakor omamen. V zadnjih nekaj tednih sem imela priložnost preizkusiti 4 LUSH izdelke: Jumping Juniper trdi šampon, Lemony Flutter maslo za mehčanje kože, Sultana of Soap trdo milo in Vanilla Puff puder za telo.

JUMPING JUNIPER Shampoo Bar

Jumping Juniper isn't my first Lush shampoo bar. I've owned Karma Komba and Godiva in the past and really liked the idea of solid shampoo. I don't use it the way Lush suggests though - I rub the shampoo directly on my scalp rather than rubbing it between my hands. I always need a lot of foam, that's just me. I have to say this shampoo works very well. It gives me squeaky clean hair and my scalp feel good afterwards - no itching. I expected stronger scent, but I guess it's not a bad thing to have a subtle scented shampoo (your bathroom won't overflow with the smell of this shampoo - like it may happen with Karma Komba or Godiva). Jumping Juniper is a very nice shampoo for oily hair/scalp, but it didn't do anything special for my hair (shine and bounce part). Oh, I think it's also important to add this shampoo bar didn't dry out my scalp.

Do sedaj sem preizkusila že tri različne Lush šampone v trdem stanju: Karma Komba, Godiva in nazadnje še Jumping Juniper. Ideja trdih šamponov mi je postala všeč že ob prvi uporabi. Uporabljam ga tako, da si najprej zmočim lase, nato pa s trdim šamponom nekajkrat podrgnem po lasišču. Šampon zelo dobro očisti lase in lasišče, vendar pa jih pri tem ne izsuši. Vonj ni tako močan, kot sem pričakovala - voha se ga med šamponiranjem, po izpiranju pa ne več. Čeprav je Jumping Juniper zelo dober šampon (kar se tiče čiščenja in odmaščevanja), pa ni za moje lase naredil ničesar posebnega - vsaj ne kar se tiče 'poskakovanja od radosti'. =)

Ah, the famous Lemony Flutter. I've read about it being the perfect cuticle saviour and now I finally got to try it for myself. It's true: this stuff is amazing. Not only does it smell like lemon, it's also very nourishing and moisturizing at the same time. The butter is on the thick side, but when it sits on the skin for a while, it starts melting and that's when the magic happens. Every single cuticle in the world should get a bit of this butter. Hint: You can use it on other body parts as well. The jar is huge (it contains 50g) and it will last a looooong time. Try it, get it!

Lemony Flutter je pravi zvezdnik med Lush izdelki. Ničkolikokrat sem brala o njegovih izjemnih vlažilnih, mehčalnih in hranilnih lastnostih, sedaj pa sem ga končno tudi sama preizkusila. Res je: Lemony Flutter je odlična zadeva za obnohtno kožico, uporablja pa se lahko tudi na drugih delih telesa. Maslo je samo po sebi precej goste strukture, ob stiku s kožo pa se prične topiti, kar olajša nanašanje. Vonj je limonast, osvežilen in zelo všečen. Lonček z maslom vsebuje 50 g izdelka, kar pomeni, da ga zlepa ne bo zmanjkalo. Priporočam!

''Nežno, vlažilno milo s suhim sadjem. Suho sadje ni dobro le za organizem, pač pa tudi za kožo, zato smo Sultani dodali brusnice, lešnike in borovnice. Naše luksuzno mlečno milo bo navlažilo tudi najbolj suho kožo.'' (Lush)

Sultana of Soap is my first Lush solid soap and I think I picked the right one: the scent is to die for. I can't describe it, I can just say it smells creamy and delicious. There are some dried fruits on the top of the soap (maybe for exfoliation, who knows) which make the soap look more interesting, but don't do much. They don't bother me though. I'm used to showering with gel type of cleanser which tend to use a (protective) film on your skin. Sultana leaves my skin squeaky clean and soft, but it doesn't dry it out. And did I mention it smells heavenly?

Sultana of Soap je moje prvo Lush milo v trdi obliki. Mislim, da sem izbrala pravega, saj je vonj naravnost odličen. Ne vem natanko po čem diši, vem le, da je vonj kremast in fantastičen. Na vrhu mila se nahaja posušeno sadje, ki pa nima nekega posebnega učinka. Uporaba Sultane je enaka kot pri ostalih trdih milih. Kožo odlično očisti, pri tem pa je ne izsuši. Vonj po tuširanju pa bo omrežil vsakogar... Njam.

VANILLA PUFF Dusting Powder

A blend of light powders to slide over the skin leaving it silky to the touch – combined with a rich vanilla fragrance that lasts for hours. When I saw Vanilla Puff dusting powder, I knew I had to have it. I adore vanilla scent, but in most cases cosmetics with vanilla scent smells just wrong. This isn't one of those products: the scent is a true vanilla - soft and sweet. The powder comes in a plastic bottle (like shower gel) which makes it easy to dose the amount of product. I have to admit I'm a bit confused when it comes to Vanilla Puff. I know it's a powder, but don't know how to include it into my beauty routine. In theory it would be best to use it over lotion to prevent the skin from looking greasy, but then I feel like I have all this gunk on my skin and get the need to take a shower. The scent is nice, but it doesn't last hours - maybe it would if I used it with their Vanillary solid perfume like suggested. A nice powder, but not my favorite product.

Večina kozmetičnih izdelkov, ki naj bi dišali po vaniliji, ponavadi diši po nekakšni čudni sintetični mešanici vonjev - pri Vanilla Puff pudru je vonj pravi: nežen in sladek. Puder se nahaja v plastični steklenički, ki omogoča natančno doziranje vsebine. O Vanilla Puff pudru ne morem reči nič slabega, vendar moram priznati, da sem imela kar nekaj težav pri vključevanju izdelka v svojo rutino. V teoriji naj bi puder uporabili preko losijona za telo, a mi ta ideja ni preveč všeč. Kot sem že omenila, je vonj odličen a nikakor ne traja več ur. Mogoče bi bilo bolje, če bi izdelek uporabila preko Vanillary trdega parfuma, kot predlaga Lush.

Review: Born Pretty Store - CH Nail Lacquer #8

I'm back with a jelly nail polish goodness I got from Born Pretty Store. This is a CH Nail Lacquer in number 8.

CH Nail Lacquer, #8, 3 coats

This nail polish is described as an UV/LED light fluorescent polish, which means it glows under UV light. I don't go to clubs, so there's no real value in it for me, but I know some of you might like it. EDIT: I tried it under UV light and it doesn't really glow. It does look lighter (like lilac) under the light, but it doesn't have that fluo glow.

The thing I really like is the brush - flat and neatly cut. The application is OK: althought the brush is wonderful, I had some troubles with the jelly formula. I'm not a big fan of jelly polishes and maybe that's why I can't seem to apply them properly. There are always some bald spots that make me go crazy... I'm not saying it's formula's fault though. I used three coats of polish on my photos (because they're photos and bald spots are more visible on pictures), but two would be enough as well: a thin first coat and a slightly thicker second one. Although I love this color, the brush and the formula isn't bad either - I just hate the drying time. I feel it takes forever to dry and when I think it's dry, I get a finger print or a smudge on my nails. Fast drying top coat didn't help much in my case. Is this drying time thing a curse of jelly polishes? I really haven't tried enough of them to tell for sure.

P. S.: This polish looks matte on Born Pretty Store website. Mine didn't dry into a matte finish. Well, maybe it was because it didn't dry at all. Who knows.

Essence - Electric Blue (Show Your Feet)

This one was quite unexpected. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it on a small 'foot dedicated' shelf in a drugstore. Where have you been, pretty one? I'm a huge electric blue fan and this Essence polish has the perfect name to fit it's color. Electric Blue.

Essence, Electric Blue, 3 coats

Electric Blue is one of the new Show Your Feet shades. It is what the name says: a true electric blue. It's darker and deeper in real life and is quite similiar to P2 Gigantic and Essence Grumpy from the Snow White trend edition. I used 3 coats for my photos, because the polish looks somewhat jelly-ish and I didn't want the nail line to be visible. You could get away with 2 slightly thicker coats though. The formula isn't the best, but with a color like this, who cares. I love the flat brush and drying time is OK too. Don't expect too much from it, just enjoy the color. Blueeeeeeee....

Weekly Sum-Up #53

Summing up the last tree weeks (or something like that). Let's start with news from the nail polish world. OK, they're not exactly news, cause it took me forever to post this, but still: Here's a FNUG collection for Summer 2013. Look a Like and Go-To are awesome. I'd totally wear those two.

I almost fell off my chair when I saw this Aussie add on german Drogerie Markt site. I'm keeping my fingers crossed the products will be available in my country as well, because I'm dying to try their 3 Minute Miracle thingy. I almost bought it online a couple of years ago, but changed my mind due to insane price tags.

I didn't wear a lot of different shades on my nails in the last few weeks (if we count out the NYX swatching fest). I wore Frankenpolish by Andrea (on photo below), Essence Black to the Roots, Sinful Allure, Dance Legend Spacecraft, Catrice I Wear My Sunglasses At Night and Essence Kiss of the Mermaid.

Aishila at last. Bombi and Lisa are stealing the spotlight lately, but I have to tell you Aishila is doing quite well. She still has some troubles breathing and her left eye is watering, but she's alive and well - playful and just a little angel she can be. Nose-kisses!

This used to be Jimi: a black long-haired cat, but now I call her my ombre cat. She's getting brown for cake's sake! WTF?! She's still a tomboy/lady alpha female, but her hair is getting ridiculous. Like mine.

Speaking of cats. I couldn't resist this cute New Yorker T-shirt... Simple and straight forward. Meow. That's all you need to say. =D

My (wannabe) suspender tights - one of my this years Ebay buys. I love the way they look and I think I need more. =) And yes, I know this angle isn't very flattering, but who cares.

Last but certainly not least - Rammstein concert was A-f*cking-MAZING! I got to see blonde Till Lindeman in pink furry jacket and a whole lot of fire action on the stage. I was a bit disappointed with the sound, but I had so much fun it doesn't even matter anymore. It wasn't just a concert, it was a show. And I'm glad I can say I was there.

Essence - The Stiletto (Show Your Feet ''High Heel Mania'' Trend Edition)

New Essence trend edition under the Show Your Feet line is called High Heel Mania and offers five new SYF toe nail polish shades. They all have names connected to shoes: The Stiletto, The Pump, The Peeptoe, The Wedge and The Gladiator. The only one I got is The Stiletto.

The Stiletto is a warm purple shade with blue micro shimmer which is quite visible in the bottle, but not as much on the nails. My indoor 'crappy' photos aren't really color accurate... The Stiletto is a lot warmer in real life and it reminds me of P2 Chic in low light. They're obviously not dupes, but they do look alike from a distance.

The Stiletto is a nice polish which looks better on these photos then it does in real life. I wish it was more like this - cooler, with visible shimmer, but I ended up with another purple that looks creme in most lighting circumstances. I don't want to complain too much about the color - it's a very nice one. The thing that bothers me the most is the opacity. It could be a two coater, but it doesn't have enough depth for me when I only use two layers of it. The brush and formula were nice and so was the application. I'm not totally feeling it and it's the opacity that bothers me.

Essence - I'm The Moss (Guerilla Gardening Trend Edition)

One of the latest Essence trend editions - Guerilla Gardening has hit our stores. I had the fortune to pick from all the products this TE offers but I only bought two of them. Eyeshadow in My Piece of Land and nail polish in I'm the Moss.

Essence, I'm the Moss, 2 coats

The first thing I noticed with the TE nail polishes is the brush. They kept the old flat brush with bristles that are all the same length. I'm so very thankful they didn't include one of their so called 'improved' brushes. I think I'll only be buying polishes from their trend editions and Show Your Feet line from now on.

The brush was great, but the formula could be better. Well, it's not exactly the formula's fault, it's the opacity that bothers me a little. The first layer went on pretty sheer, but I applied a thicker second layer and got away with it. I'd still prefer a slightly more opaque version. This polish is very interesting color wise. I don't think I have anything like it in my collection and it's certainly a rare shade of green in the nail polish world. That's why I bought it in the first place. Although the color is pretty much awesome, it's impossible to photograph it accurately. It's not as green in real life and not as bright either. I'd say asparagus green would be the best description.

A slightly better photo (shot outdoors), but still not color accurate. The polish is more muted in real life. Like a warm army green. If that makes any sense.

Dance Legend - Caravan (Sahara Crystal)

Guess what. It's Dance Legend time! This one is called Caravan.

Caravan is one of the shades from the Sahara Crystal collection. It's a pretty shimmery duochrome in the bottle which dries into a gritty matte finish. Sanding type of polish finish. You can see how pretty it is by the color drop, but it looks nothing like it when it's dry. You can apply top coat over it to revive its 'bottle' beauty, but I guess it gonna take time and a lot of top coat. This one is one top coat thirty beauty.

Dance Legend, Caravan, 2 coats

If you're into gritty polishes, you'll love the shades from Dance Legend's Sahara Crystal collection. They're little chameleons, but they do take a lot of time and patience if you decide to wear them with a glossy finish. The application was great (like with all Dance Legend polishes), formula was surprisingly good and the brush is awesome. What more to say? I can't really comment on the color of this one, since it's so ... different. In the bottle it looks like a black base with duochrome shimmer particles that shift from burgundy to orange, yellow and green. It's a different story when you look at it on the nails - something that reminds me of a stale, dried up blood. In the best way possible. Hee hee... I like it.

Coral Love with Kisses

This is the polish I'm wearing right now. I put it on on Sunday and I'm still very pleased with the look, so I'm gonna wear it a couple more days. How often does that happen to a nail polish lover? Especially to a one who prefers dark colors. Well, if you're looking for a bright coral nail shade and you have access to Essence - go get it. It's the one from Show Your Feet line called Kiss of the Mermaid. It was a part of the trend edition that came out a couple of months ago, but I believe you can find it in the core line as well.

Swatches: NYX Girls Nail Polish (Part IV)

This is what I was doing all day yesterday: swatching 19 NYX Girls polish shades for Slovenian online store Moja Drogerija. Would it be weird to say my nails hurt after all the polishing and removing the polish so many times? Well, it wasn't hard to do it - it never is if you like what you do.

When I first looked at the polishes I received for swatching, I thought there was a mistake - a few shades looked so similar, I thought they were the same shade. After taking a closer look, I realized they're not. =) This one is for pink, red and bright coral lovers.

As I said, many of the polishes look a lot alike so I made a little comparison for you. These are the red shades. Bloody Mary is a warm tomato red. A wonderful of great quality. I love it! Vintage Red is a muted red jelly which applies thin and is opaque in only 2 coats. Red Noir is the darkest of the bunch. It looks darker in the bottle though, since it's a classic cool toned medium red on the nails. It has a jelly-like formula and needs 2 to 3 coats for opacity.

Moving on to the red-ish corals. Cranberry Red and Grapefruit are VERY similar. The main difference is the Grapefruit is a quarter of a shade lighter and more on the warm side. Cranberry is a bit darker and cooler. They're both amazing polishes - the quality of the polish is superb. The application was super easy and they're both pretty much opaque in 1 coat. Unbreak My Heart is pretty much the same thing (color and formula wise), only brighter and stronger. I recommend any of these if you're looking for a fun bright coral nail polish for summer. I love them all!

And last - orange & orange corals. The coral shades above are more on the red side and the ones below go more towards the orange side. Fruity Punch is your typical bright orange shade. It's bright, but not neon. Poppy is kind of like Grapefruit, only with more orange tone to it. It's a 2-coater. Love at First Sight is a bright orange toned coral. Although the corals from above and these two below look very similar, there are a few differences between. Leaning toward orange or red, cool or warm toned. I think every lady should have a coral nail polish in their collection. Yeah, I didn't even like coral a couple of years ago and now I love it.

New Essence Trend Edition: Ticket to Paradise

In my opinion not as interesting trend edition as Girls on Tour (although that one isn't Essence's biggest gem either). Eyeshadows don't go cause they need an applicator (I prefer them in a pencil - like NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils) and applying them with fingers is too messy for me. Lipliners... well, it would be better if you could buy lipsticks in the same colors too. I don't even wanna know what lipglosses would look like on me and I'm too old for hair mascara. Shimmer Powder looks rather nice and I hope it will be as light in real life too. Most of them are usually too dark for my skintone. And about the polishes: I only like the turquoise one, but I believe I own one or two similar shades already. Where are trend editions that will make me feel excited? Do we have too much of everything and can't feel the excitement anymore? Do you think Essence doesn't try as hard anymore?
