Hello, from my NEW HOME, and new work area!

I know that it's been quite awhile since I have posted or shared a new pic, and I do sincerely apologize for this. The moves, unpacking, rearranging, etc., and awaiting then setting up a new work area that will serve me well until I build/have my son build me a jeweler's bench. I've just put my tools in it, and got all my gemstones, beads and wire all arranged and ready for work.

All that said, I will be creating some new pieces in the very near future, and will be here to share them, and comment as well on the techniques and materials I used in each piece.

I want to take a moment to thank you for your kind and thoughtful comments and your patience and loyalty in continuing to check my blog. I hope that you will continue to come and look for more work and posts, and leave me your thoughts -all critiques are welcome, of course, as long as they are polite.

Hi, Everyone!

Just checking in after a long period of illness and family crises. I hope that all of my readers are doing well these days, and leading blessed lives. I do think of you frequently, and wish that I could communicate with you and share more on jewelry making, gemstones, etc., than I have been able to lately, but my health has been a major deterrent to much physical activity for quite some time now. I've been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, early congestive heart failure, and other things, so it's been difficult. Hopefully, things will change soon, as I am seeing new physicians and receiving different treatment. Of course, getting used to new meds is always difficult for me because of the pain issue, so I hope that things improve soon.

I am in the process of moving into a new apartment (with fireplace and all new fixtures!), and am also creating a pendant for my son's girlfriend, which I have designed myself. I have been taking pics along the way of each step, so that I can also create a tutorial for it. I will not be able to complete it until next weekend, most likely, due to the move and a medical appointment. Once it is completed, I will be posting pics of the finished product, and would welcome any opinions/comments from you.

Thank you, those of you who have come to check out this blog, despite the lack of recent activity. You are greatly appreciated. Please feel free to share this blog with your friends and associates, as that would definitely help me. I thank you in advance for all you do.

HELLO, JEWELRY LOVERS!

Hello,  all you lovers of the finer things, like beautiful gemstones from all over the world, both faceted and cabochon styles, and even raw specimens in their host rock, for those of you who, like myself, are fascinated by the growthHi, all habits and the "ingredients" necessary for the creation of each individual and unique type and color of gemstone, rock or mineral! Oh, and I would never neglect to mention those of you (again, including myself!) who just adore and clamor for the finished miracles of your most beloved gemstones set in beautiful and precious metals, the uniqueness and beauty of each design every bit as important, enhancing the stone's natural beauty as it is nestled in its permanent home!

I wanted to come and let everyone know that I've been learning to do more in the way of creating unique, one-of-a-kind sterling silver and gold filled gemstone jewelry, all made with just my own two hands and some very basic tools.  I am sharing a pair of dangle earrings I just created, which have a rhodochrosite donut, freshwater pearls, and two tiny little agate beads in the centers of each donut, along with a rose gold plated butterfly. I love using the butterfly with pearls, as it is a symbol of new beginnings, and change from one being into another. The pearl is symbolic of purity and love, loyalty and goodness of heart, along with other wonderful traits we should all nurture, develop, share and cherish in ourselves and with those around us. I love the softness and femininity of the pastels as well - they add to the effect of the symbolism of pearl and the butterfly, somehow amplifying the meaning of whatever change and newness a woman is experiencing within.

This pair of earrings is very special to me for all of these reasons, as I have learned in 53 years that humans are ever-growing, ever-chaging and developing creatures, and as the givers of new life, a woman must grow and change, and constantly become "new", always adapting to those about whom she cares the most, and loves most deeply and purely. The soft pastels of the pearls signify the purity of that love and her heart, always doing her utmost to care for and please her children, from infancy until she leaves this world, her mate from the time at which they have bonded until the time she leaves, as well.  I know personally that even when our children are well into adulthood, we do not just walk away from them and hope they fare well in life, but we are aways there in the background, happy to help if we are ever needed, and in whatever capacity we are able. Thus, we are still changing, adapting, and growing, becoming who they have need for us to be for as long as we are able and needed. The butterfly is a symbol that will have special meaning for me for as long as I live on this earth. The rhodochrosite donut is symbolic of the circle of life, and of unending love - that between family and friends, of the Creator for His children - one constant, endless, strong and shining orb. t is an example of the bond between mother or father and child, and the many stages of life that go on forever, from one form to the next -ever changing and ever strong. Of course, the pink color mottled with green symbolizes the life that a mother gives to her children, right alongside and interspersed with the life we get from the planet, from our gardens, the forests and even the lakes and oceans. We are all bound together by so many wonderful things, and womanhood is such a vital part of it all!

While I seem to have gone off on a tangent, I hope to have gotten across the importance of meaning in each piece that I create for those who purchase from me. I have always felt that one who makes jewelry, or any other artistic piece - is really just embellishing what the Creator has already placed here for our enjoyment, and so I want what I make to have a special meaning, and to acknowledge that we are creative because He made us in HIS image. I am a firm believer in the philosophy that we need to use those talents to honor and give back to HIM in some way,

Well, I will end the discussion on creating jewelry for now, and I hope this has helped to explain my motivation a bit. I hope that you enjoy the earrings, which, by the way, are for sale, and cost only $35, which is a steal for all natural and hand made items. It is my introductory price, which will be for just
the first week after listing. Next week, the price will be $45, beginning on Wednesday. Of course, I hope that they sell before then. Also, I am able to do custom orders of this style, in 14K gold filled, sterling or copper. Soon, I will also be posting jewelry done in a variety of permanently colored copper and aluminum wires, as well. This will help to keep costs down for those who are unable to keep up with the rapid and constant rise in the prices of precious metals. I hope to have an ecnomical line which is just as beautiful as the precious metal line., and will inclueboth natural gemstones and beads, as well as glass, wood, and other natural elememts. I will also be using precious metal clay, beginning with the pure silver clay. This will enable me to make pieces which appear to be cast, and will be much more weighty than those done in wire, in addition to more sculptural. I am excited about beginning this new phase of my jewelry making career. I hope that you all enjoy what I bring to this site.

Lastly, I will eventually be attempting to create some tutorials, so that I can share the wonderful feeling of accomplishment that comes from learning to do something new, and completing each new step towards making an entire, beautiful piece, uniquely your own. I hope you enjoy this as much as I think I am going to!

I'm Back! Will Be Sharing More Beautiful Pieces Soon!

Hello, everyone!

After a prolonged bout with my disability taking over in a major way, and feeling weaker and more ill with each passing day, I wanted to come and apologize to everyone for being away for so very long. I have not at all given up on any of you, nor have I lost interest in blogging about what I love to do most or sharing pics of my newest creations and talking about them, but it's been ever so difficult to do so with legs and feet, hands, arms and neck not cooperating, hurting if they feel anything, other than numbness, tingling and stinging.

Added to that, my computer has been down since late April, and was just repaired about 2 weeks ago. YAY! SO, now I have my own puter again, and have decided to give it my best shot to return as frequently as possible to talk about something new in the area of creating jewelry from sterling or gold filled wire and gemstones, or precious metal clay, or a combination thereof. There have been many new things I've been able to read about or see in educational videos, so there is much to discuss. I am anxious to see how much I am able to create, especially since I have some really neat new supplies to share with you, also.

That being said, please do return and look for me to post something very, very soon. I definitely want to share some pics n descriptions of some new gemstones, and try to create more beautiful pieces. ALso, I opened an Artfire United shop under the trade name Darshan (a glimpse of The Divine), referring to the fact that The Creator made all the beautiful gemstones and metals - all that we use to "create" our pieces with - we are actually just embellishing everything we use, as He already made it, so the gemstones and all of creation is but a small glimpse of Him, and I find that just amazing!

SO, I look forward to seeing you here, and reading your thoughts, comments and questions and responding to them very soon.

Hand-made Sterling Silver Labradorite Pendant and Earrings

HELLO, FELLOW JEWELRY FANATICS!!!

WHILE I KNOW THAT IT'S BEEN QUITE AWHILE SINCE I'VE MADE A POST, DUE TO SCHOOL AND ILLNESSES, I'M HERE NOW, AND I HAVE A LOT OF INFORMATION TO SHARE ABOUT GEMSTONE IDENTIFICATION, AND GREAT LEARNING RESOURCES FOR METAL CLAY AND WIRE-WRAPPED JEWELRY.

First, I'd like to make mention of a wonderful resource, in the form of a magazine, which I have subscribed to for over a year now, and I just love it! It's Art Jewelry Magazine, created by Kalmbach Publishers. They have a plethora of other educational magazines, on topics ranging from Wire-Wrapping, Metal Clay, Metal Smithing, Paper Craft, Felt Craft, Home Decor of all types, for all budgets, Woodworking, much, much more!
I have just acquired a new magazine from this company titled Wirework, also, which is a special issue from the pages of Bead&Button Magazine. This mag is also another wonderful fave of mine, rich with colorful illustrations and simple, step-by step instructions for amazing projects which will make you the talk of the town!

For instance, in the new Wirework Special Edition, there are 387 how-to-photos and illustrations, 34 all-time favorites, and 5 new projects! They have included a handy wire-gauge reference guide,tons of tips, techniques, and much, much more! This magazine also includes instructions on how to do Fast and Fabulous Crochet, Filigree Bracelets, along with Crocheted Wire Bezels.

I would also like to share with you a wonderful resource for GEMSTONE IDENTIFICATION. It is a book titled GEMSTONE IDENTIFICATION MADE EASY, BY Antoinette Maitlins, P.G., and A.C. Bonanno, F.G.A., A.S.A., M.G.A.. I think this is the most basic, up-to-date information on identifying most gemstones, new gemstones, such as chromium-type emeralds from HIddenite, North Carolina, and how to distinguish them from emeralds mined in other locations. This wonderful source also includes information on and instructions for using the most up-to-date instruments which assist in discovering treatments, look-alikes and synthetic gemstones, such as how to distinguish a natural "padparadscha" (peachy-pink)sapphire from one that is actually near-colorless, and treated with new diffusion techniques, also used to color orange and yellow colors. Additionally, you will find in this amazingly thorough book how to tell if diamonds have been treated by new High-Pressure-High-temperature (HPHT) techniques, often used to improve the clarity of less-than-colorless stones. This information is all vitally important in determining the actual value of a stone, and will save one a mint over the years in cost, as opposed to being fooled into spending more than a stone is worth, and then not being able to make a profit on their investment!

This book is also filled with useful color charts, and color photos of the insides of gemstone, so as to show how a natural stone of a certain type should look. Gemstones all have internal characteristics - "birthmarks", if you will - which are unique to each species of stone, and this is how they are identified by professional gemologists. The pictures in the book are very helpful in learning how to make these identifications on your own, and avoiding costly identification fees.

I also would like to share some basic information today on creating your own earring findings, which is a very simple process, and can be done in just 7 simple steps.

Supplies: 1) 4" of half-hard jewelry wire. I have found that 20 gauge works best. Some like them a bit thinner, so 21 or 22 gauge is fine, too. You can use your own judgement here. It's personal, at this point. :)
2) pair of round-nose pliers
3) needle file, or fine-grit sandpaper
4) rubbing alcohol or soap and water

CREATE:
1) Cut a wire into (2) 2" sections (5cm ea.)
2) Make a simple loop in one end of each wire. (A simple loop is made by grasping the end of the wire between the tips of the round-nose pliers, and rolling the pliers so that a loop is formed around the tip. Once that is accomplished, continue rolling until you have made a quarter turn more in the loop, so that a small section actually has two widths of wire in the circle.
3) Bend the wire up as if you were going to coil it around the loop, but instead, use the round-nose pliers to wrap it up in the other direction. This is accomplished by actually placing the wider portion of the plier behind and just above the end of the loop you have made, and wrapping the wire around this wider portion of the pliers. It should appear as though you have made a half lf the letter "m", with a loop at the bottom of the outside left of it. The right side of the wire should extend down below the Left-side loop, and have some excess.
4) Trim the wire to the length you want the earring finding to be.
5) Bend a slight curve at the end of the wire, pointing outward from the body of the earwire.
6) Smooth the end of the wire with your needle file or fine sandpaper.
7) Clean the tip of your new earwire with either soap and water or rubbing alcohol, to remove any remaining metal shavings or oils from your fingers.
8) Now, you're ready to take the remaining piece of wire, and create a matching wire. It helps to place the tip of the round-nose pliers into the hoop of the first wire, and shape the second wire while using the first one as a guide. You can remove the pliers from the loop after creating the new loop, and then place one side of the pliers into the curve of the earwire you have already made, while holding the wire with the other side right outside the small loop, shaping the new wire around the pliers along the same curves as the first wire.

Next, you're ready to open the small loop, and insert the jump ring which holds a bead, gemstone, or other object with which you would like to create your own unique set of earrings! There are many ways you can alter the size, shape and angle of the curves, and create tons of different styles of earrings with this one basic tutorial! ENJOY

Well, it's been quite while, I know, since I was here last, so I thought that I would just take a few minutes out from doing classwork to say hi, and tell you what's been going on, and why you haven't heard from me for awhile!
As some of you may (or may not) know, I have gone back to college online, and have thus been otherwise occupied for most of the time! While it is exciting to be earning a degree, it is also daunting, time consuming
and exhausting. I had been warned at the outset that online courses are more accelerated and condensed, and this has proven to be true! Add that to the fact that I have chosen to pursue a degree in Web Design and Interactive Media, and what you get is someone with shaky fingers whose eyes will no longer stay open! :) I would like to report, however, that I did receive a perfect 100% in my first course (A) and hopefully am on my way to another A (Although it may not be the whole 100%)! Wish me success, please!

That being said, I hope you'll be understanding as to why I haven't been here very much lately, and that you will continue to be patient with me, and still come back from time to time and see what's going on!

Are you prepared for the new fall season with regard to your jewelry? Are you aware that layers are still in for the fall, and that purples, plums, earth tones, and especially big, chunky funky styles around the neck have still graced the runways in the latest fashion shows?

That's right! So, when you go hunting for accessories to adorn yourself with and match back to your newest outfits, look for big and bold, but organic, earthy and natural. Look for natural gemstones, in big chunky beads, with a bold focal point and maybe a nice, unusual clasp that can be worn in front, slightly off center. Also, earrings of the same material, yet in chandelier styles or big hoops with natural gemstone accents are in for the new season. And remember to get rings, too! Again, big, bold and natural is the winning combination, so find something that coordinates back to your neckpiece and earrings, and throw in a nice gemstone bead bracelet, too.

Another item that is winning votes is the beaded gemstone bracelet watch, either in the more tailored style with an actual leather or metal band with a gemstone bezel, or the more relaxed bohemian style, with layers of beads, even mixed from tiny seed beads or rice pearls to the bigger smooth and faceted gemstone beaded styles. The sizes and styles are often mixed now on a multi-strand bracelet, as well as the necklaces, and the stylized clasps, often theme-oriented are hugely popular, and a necessary addition to every "in" wardrobe!

A couple of things to add to your wardrobe, which are popular during this summer season and will also carry over into the fall, (everyone loves a double-duty piece of jewelry!) are seashell and wood or seed beads. Wood is entering its second season, and is gaining popularity due to the ever-rising cost of precious metals and gemstones. Carved and polished wooden beads and focal points are making a huge comeback from the seventies' macrame era! Just about any color goes now, in the wood, but of course, nature-inspired colors are most popular for the upcoming autumn season. Just look at nature's palette when considering what colors you want to add to your wardrobe.

Seashells of all types have also been added to the material choice list for the past year or so, but are gaining in popularity as time passes. Especially popular is the abalone shell, and the paua shell, with their rainbow of colors. They'll match any outfit, with the greens, blues and violets and beautiful pearlescence that will catch any eye. Of course, pearls are always a classic, only now they're updated and often larger pearls or multi-strand pearl necklaces are often seen worn with even casual outfits, especially the ever-popular bohemian style skirt and peasant top or tunic. Pearls are also seen with chain segments between them and other gemstone beads, faceted or smooth, of varying shapes, even in natural, polished nugget form. There are many new ways to wear pearls now, around the neck, or in a bracelet, ring or earrings.

Well, I hope this little segment has helped some of you to figure out what you want to look for when you shop accessories this season, and I wish you happy hunting!

I'm Still Here!

Hello, Everyone!

I thought I should come and tell everyone hi, and let you all know that I'm still here, and still going to school!

Yes, I've gone back to college to study Web design! I figured that since I don't understand much about setting up this site or optimizing it, even with the use of the tools, that It behooved me to learn as much as I can about every aspect of it, and not just a little bit of this, and a bit of that! I think that it will serve me much better in the
long run (and others) if I just get a degree and prove that I've really learned what one needs to know to be a Web Designer, and put it to use making money. I can Have a business in Web Design, if I choose, but more importantly, I can set up killer sites from which to market my jewelry! I can also set up sites for others from which to display/market their art, or whatever else it is they need to make known to the world!

I'm very excited about this, and I can't wait to learn HTML, so that I can learn to place ad codes in other sites and not just this one! I really can't wait, to see what my new sites will look like, and to be able to help others!

For now, though, it's got to be back to the books, so please keep me in your prayers, that I'll have a clear mind and be able to do these assignments, okay? The online courses are more condensed than going to physical classes. Each one is either 3 or 5 1/2 weeks long! I have to be on my toes, so I appreciate your prayers.

I hope to be able to come and post pics of some new pieces soon, also. I hope you'll like them. I will also put a price up with each item.

Hello Again!

Hi, everyone!

I know it's been awhile since I've been here and posted anything, but it's because I had a computer that died on me, and I had to wait for my financial aid stipend to come, so that I could replace my laaptop with a new one, and then I had to set it up and make sure that all my accounts were accessible and that I was able to edit them, and to do whatever else is necessary to do on each of them.

I have gone back to college online (finally!) and I had to have the computer so that I would be able to take the classes. I needed updated software and technology, also, since I'm getting a degree in Web Design and Interactive Media.

I'm hoping that while earning this degree, I will be able to help people to set up their own websites, so that they will be able to display and sell their artwork, just as I will be trying to set up a better website from which to sell my jewelry.

I will also be learning html editing, which will come in very handy, since there is
apparently some issue with a robots.txt that's been interfering with google's robot crawling my sites with adsense, and since I never knew the first thing about them, and also don't have access to this root domain, I know that it's not because of me that my income suddenly stopped multiplying, and actually dropped to not even a cent for weeks at a time!

I will figure out what's been going on and fix it so that whatever is happening, it won't be able to be done successfully once I do!

Well, I've had a very long day and nght, and I n eed to sleep, because I'm supposed to go swimming and to aerobics (chair aerobics) in a few hours!

I'm making a quick stop just so I can say hello again, and to ensure that anyone coming here is aware that although it is coming along slowly, this site is coming along.

I've been going back to college onlinem studying for a degree in Web Design and Interactive Media!

The plan is to be able to set up a really nice site on which to sell the jewelry I make, and maybe to help with other artists who need to be able to do the same thing with their work.

I just wanted to stop in real quick (after spending last night and most of today in the hospital), and say hello.

I have been working on some new pieces, while also doing some online college assignments, so I've been fairly busy, but I wanted to come and remind everyone of the one-of-a-kind, hand-made jewelry that I make. It's made with sterling silver, or gold filled wire or precious silver clay, and usually gemstone beads or cabochons and freshwater
pearls. I sometimes use murano or other Italian or Italian-type glass, and some swarovsky crystals, but most of my work is with natural materials.

What A Day!!!

Hi, Everyone!!!

I'm stopping in to say hello, so you know that I'm here, and that I haven't given up on setting this site up the way I would like for it to be in the end.

I have had to spend yesterday away from home and have work done on my teeth (enchanting, isn't it?!!) LOL! Yes, I have to keep my smile nice, so the day was spent in Charlotte, and we went and toured the Billy Graham Library, and the museum, I guess -- his childhood home, where he and Ruth shared their lives, pictures of all the family and extended family, pictures of Billy with officials and leaders from all over the world. Everybody loves that manand his wife, as evidenced in all the mementos from people everywhere on the planet, from trips they made to serve those in other countries. I thought it was just so wonderful -- and looking in the library at all of the books they and others in their families have published was just amazing! There is such talent in that family, along with their devotion to God!

You are probably asking yourself what this has to do with hand-made jewelry, right? Well, I was just inspired by the talent, and the way that each of them made the decision to do something, and then stuck with it until they succeeded in doing or creating whatever it was they had decided they were supposed to do with their talents.

It works that way with other artistic gifts/talents, as well. Before I discovered that I could take some sterling silver or gold filled wire, or even copper or brass wire, now, some gemstone cabochons or beads, and make them into beautiful pendants, earrings or bracelets, I would have just gone on wishing that I could do something with my talents, instead of going ahead and finding books and websites where I could learn more and further develop my skills.

Also, I have since learned that although I'm permanently disabled and unable to work outside my home, I am also able to learn (with help, of course) to set up a website whereby I can discuss and also sell the jewelry which I have been creating. This to me is the most awesome thing!!!

SO, I went and toured an amazing and inspiring place where I learned even more about some very well known and famous people, and came home even more inspired to use the talents and gifts that were given to me, and now I'm here to let everyone know that I may have trouble setting up this site to be optimal as far as its appearance and how much it earns me, but I am still here trying and learning bit by bit, and not giving up.

I hope this blog will be an inspiration to someone else who feels that they don't want to keep trying, or that they don't know enough to do something. You do, and you can keep going. If I can, truly, anyone can!

YAY!!

After many attempts and later discovering that it wasn't myself who was erring in this process, I am happy to say that this site is now verified, and I (hopefully) will not have any difficulty with uploading and pricing items as I add them to my collection!

I am really happy about this, as I really wanted to stay here to set up the site from which I would set up shop, so to speak. It is beginning to look like this is now a great possibility!

As always, I would like to thank everyone who has come here to look at the site and my photostream. I hope that you've found something here that is to your liking. Also, please, feel free to leave a comment or a question. I set up this site not just to sell my creations, but to also talk to visitors about what wire art/sculpture is, and how it's done, what tools and supplies are needed, and whatever else you wish to know about it. It's A Wonderful Life!!!!

Hello, World!

I'm stopping in this evening to say hello, and to bring some hopeful news.

I have been trying to verify this site, in order to post prices and place a paypal button in the site, and finally begin to sell my creations online! Just as soon as I am able to figure out how to get the metacode in the header where it belongs, (it looks like it's exactly where it belongs, but I'm still receiving messages when I click on "verify" that state my metacode isn't found)! I don't undertand it, and I've tried it many times! It's totally frustrating, but I need to try until I get it right!

I've never been one to give up easily, and I don't intend to do so now, so please, continue to bear with me, and be patient. I'm working on it as you read this. I have been blessed today with a couple of awesome surprises, which let me know that God is still working on me, and blessing me for my effort to live the way He wants me to. I'm in a better place than I was before I got up this morning, and that says so much!

Thanks to all of you who have supported me and come here to check out the site, and to look at the jewelry I've been working on. I really appreciate your continued encouragement, and I'll always be grateful to each one of you for all you've done to help me.

I'm going back out there to fight the disappearing code again, and get this right! Pray for me, okay?

New Pieces!

Hello, Everybody!

I thought I'd come by and say hello to you, and let you know that I've just added some new pics. I made several new pairs of earrings, thanks to a wonderful benefactor and friend! They're "Orbit" Earrings, and they're made (some loosely) based on a design from a kit that was given to me. I have played with the design a bit as far as the type of beads, and the size of the overall earring, along with my own hand made ear wires.

I hope that you enjoy them. I realize that I'll soon need to purchase a better digital camera, but in the meantime, this is all I have with which to post pictures of my work.

Hello, Wonderful People!

I've been here for quite awhile today, playing with the color palette, and experimenting with different combinations for the blog and links, etc. I hope that you like what I've chosen to try out. I'm going to give it a trial period, and see how it works out. I believe that it's much better than it was before, as it appears to definitely be much easier to read the text now, with the much more stark contrast.

I am anxious now to get to making some new jewelry pieces, as I finally have some new, much needed supplies for which I have had to wait a long time! I can't wait to get started, and I have so many varied and unique designs floating around in my mind! I'm anxious to see what comes out first! :)

Hi, Everybody!

I'm so happy that I've finally been able to get the ads in here the proper size, and in positions that are more pleasing! It's about time, huh?!!! LOL! :)

I've been away for several days, gone to a church conference all day Saturday, performing in and singinging a solo for our easter program, which was a week after Easter, due to another conference. I've gone and had an epidural in my neck which has caused much pain in my neck, shoulders, arms and hands, and hip injections (both), which has caused pain in both hips and for which I was required to lie on pillows on my stomach (which I never do, as it cause severe low back pain), so now that hurts very badly, as well! :)

All that being said, I just wanted to say hello to everyone who has been coming here, and to thank you for coming. I hope you will be patient, and continue to come and check out this blogspot, as I am constantly working on it, as time and health allow, hoping to make it more interesting and attractive to you. Please know that I really do appreciate you coming. Please, feel free to leave a comment for me, whether it be about the pics, or a suggestion for things that will make the site more exciting/interesting and appealing.

Unfortunately, though, tonight's visit must be short, due to the injections and the way they've exacurbated my "normal" pain levels. :)

I hope to be back in a day or two, and I will try to make more frequent visits, now that I've gotten the ads in how I want them to be!

Reading about Google Philanthropy

Hello, World!

I'm still very new at this, and learning what to put where, and what not to put where! :)

I find it all very fascinating, though -- how I can be sitting in my home in North carolina, USA, working on a piece of jewelry, and suddenly be transported to India, learning about the vote to give one third of the seats in the senate (I think it was the senate) to women!! Whatever branch it was, I'm sorry that I forget at the moment, but the point is, that they're working on changing their archaic constitution to give women the same rights and powers that we enjoy here and in other parts of the world, and that's a wonderful thing!

And then, I can go to Baltimore, Md., and visit with my son, his wife and my grandbabies! That's always wonderful! If I had a computer that didn't act like a brick half the time, it would be much more enjoyable, though, I must admit!

Nonetheless, I love the internet! I can learn about new jewelry making techniques and mediums, see what's going on in the rest of the world, and share it all with whoever comes here, and I really like that! I hope to learn eventually how to properly insert codes for ads or text or whatever, and get this site looking the way I had envisioned it when I started setting it up. Won't that be nice?

And then, I just read a Google Philanthropy blog, which until now, I never even knew existed -- I didn't even know Google did any philanthropic work, so it was just awesome to read about all the programs they give to, and money they donate to help all kinds of causes for humanity and for the planet, too! I think Google is just awesome for helping so many people! GO, Google!

By the way, if you're coming by looking for a way to make money, you may want to consider Google's Adsense program. It doesn't give you instant riches, but you can build up a reliable regular income, with a little effort and consistency. I am trying to figure out how to do it, but I'm a novice, so it's not so easy for me, but I'll get it down eventually.

As far as my jewelry making goes, I'm about to work on a lovely springtime pearl and gemstone,two-strand necklace. I'll post it maybe tomorrow evening, when it should be completed.
