Here are 25 of the newest Hybrid Rudiments under the “Education” section of the web site.

In order to help you in learning and perfecting these rudiments, I have included easy to read examples, performance tips, free PDF sheet music and video tutorials.

Goodbye Hair!! (Last Update)

I have raised a grand total of exactly £330.38 for Cancer Research when I chopped off all my hair last month!

I have also donated my hair to the Little Princess Trust, who make wigs for children undergoing Chemotherapy. The hair weighed 100g when I sent it off, no wonder I feel lighter!

Man I want one of these!

My student Simon is probably one of the keenest I’ve seen so far. I helped him tune / set up his kit last week and he was kind enough to let me rip on it for a while and sent me this video today!

This kit is awesome. It’s the first time I’ve seen DW’s quality equipment up close and its truly a work of art. I’ve attempted to tune the drums to the resonant frequencies stamped inside the drums and they sound beautiful.

The hardware is rock solid and their dog bone clamping system allows for some pretty crazy set ups.

I’m not sure exactly which model this is as its sadly not mine. But I know the snare is a Mapex Black Panther.

Thought I’d test my video editing skills by syncing the audio up afterwards as I am using headphones in this video.

It’s a little glitchy in places but seems to be in time with the track for the most part.

I’m no Aaron Spears though!

No one plays Gospel Triplet Fills like Aaron, he is definitely one of my top three drummers at the moment. Check him out if you have not already, awesome drummer!

The kit I’m playing has sadly seen better days. Its the practice/teaching kit at work and its in dire need of some new skins. But hey, a bad workman blames his tools. I’m attempting to make a good sound on this kit, despite its faults, guess I like a challenge lol! I find kits like this help me make an even better sound when I get to play my nice Yamaha/Zildjian.

New Facebook Connectivity

Having reinstated the blog comments system in April, I’ve decided to also add Facebook connectivity to the blog pages! You can now use your Facebook account to comment on my news articles etc.

Using the Facebook API, this method is secure and a great time saver. Just click on the blue “Connect with Facebook” buttons. The old comments form is still there for non Facebook users to join in the conversation too.

I eventually hope to do this with my video section also.
