Also a discussion about local beer for no real reason. Another Splatfest came and went with Cars defeating Planes, the Zelda Symphony performs on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Nintendo mails out Tri Force Heroes demo codes, Legendary Pokemon distributions are coming soon all around the world, data leaks point towards a possible Twilight Princess HD, and a custom Satoru Iwata amiibo raises a ton of money for charity.

The NintenDiego Podcast – Episode 51: Ramblin’ Man(s)

In lieu of actual news of any significance, on this week’s show we fill up half of hour of airtime with pure nonsense. Splatoon gets a semi-social webapp, it’s cars vs planes in the next Splatfest, Hyrule Warriors Legends to feature Skill Kid and Phantom Ganon, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 goes 3D, assorted amiibo chatter, and also a discussion on wall pasta. Usually I pare down this recap to a few key highlights, but that’s seriously it. It was also very late in the evening, so our energy levels were down (which I’m sure also played into our goofiness).

Another week, another hefty dose of Splatoon news. We talk about the new Rainmaker ranked battle mode, as well as another Testfire demo for the poor souls that don’t actually own the game yet (or jerks like Ben that want to hustle some noobs). There’s another Splatfest on the horizon, this time sponsored by Hasbro and the Transformers, featuring Team Autobots vs Team Decepticons. Super Mario Maker approaches and we’re starting to see new features like the Sound Effect Frog, amiibo functionality and Mystery Mushroom costumes, and a terrifying new sprite for Skinny Mario. We’ve also got some Mario Kart tidbits, get ready for the Pokemon World Championships, and plug the brilliantly fantastic animated series Rick and Morty (Adult Swim, give me free stuff).
