Although the game is taking the same approach that it's PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 cousins are in terms of using the movie plot as its base and expanding on it, developer Vicarious Visions is offering content specifically for the Wii that ranges from a unique control scheme to exclusive comic characters to altered gameplay mechanics. We had the chance to try out a sampling of levels from a work-in-progress version of the game to see if it swings.

The first two levels we tried were tutorial levels that took you through the basics of the control scheme, which uses both the Nunchuk and the Wii Remote. Getting around is pretty standard for a Wii game from Vicarious, as many elements are similar to Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. You'll use the Nunchuk to move Spidey and wave the Wii Remote to perform attacks. Quick attacks will be initiated by swinging left and right while strong attacks are triggered by an up and down motion or by pressing the A button.

If you flick the Nunchuk when Spidey's head flashes (a marker that his spider sense is kicking in), you'll be able to dodge attacks. You'll jump with the Z button and stick to walls when you hold the B button when you're near one. Holding Z and B together performs a webzip, which helps you move to a point quickly. The A button lets you interact with highlighted objects. Pushing down on the D pad lets you perform an adrenaline attack, which powers up your normal attacks. Hitting left or right on the D pad puts you in Spidey's sexy black suit (more on that in a second). Up on the D pad lets you enter photo mode and snap shots, like any good struggling photographer who happens to have superpowers does.

The plus button calls up your scrapbook, which is a rundown of what you've done in the game, and lets you access the hero menu where you can level Spidey up using hero points you earn. The minus sign calls up a city map to let you get an idea of where trouble is brewing. Finally, the 1 button lets you lock the camera onto a target. When the camera isn't locked, you'll be able to rotate it around you by tilting the Nunchuk left or right.

In addition to all that, the game puts a new twist on Spidey's webswinging by letting you physically spin his web lines. If you hold down the B button and flick the remote forward, you cast a line at the nearest building and start to swing. Releasing B will make Spidey release his web. You can choose to shoot another with the remote, or hold the Z button on the Nunchuk and flick it to send out a line from Spidey's other hand. Insane? Sort of. Do you look goofy? Yes, a little. Is it fun? Kinda. The mechanic is a little tough to get a handle on initially, especially if you want to go all pro and do the dual-hand webswinging, but it seems like it could be cool once you pick it up.

-------------------------------------

If you would like to read the rest of the article click here.

I would love to thank Gamespot.com, IGN.com and GameTrailers.com for the wonderful content.

Nintendo Wii

Super Paper Mario

Super Paper Mario is a platform/role-playing video game developed by Intelligent Systems, a division of Nintendo. Originally developed for the Nintendo GameCube, it was released for the Wii on April 9, 2007 in North America. It will be released in Japan on April 19, 2007, but there has been no confirmed release date for Australia or Europe yet. It is a combination of the previous Paper Mario titles and Super Mario Bros. titles. Unlike the RPG-style gameplay of previous Paper Mario games, the game combines platforming gameplay and RPG elements.
Thank You Wikipedia

!~~Here's cool video~~!

Oh, here's another!

Super Paper Mario. Kyoto-based Nintendo has sold 1.95 million units of its newest game machine as of March 25 since it debuted on Dec. 2 last year, Tokyo-based research firm Enterbrain Inc. said in a faxed statement. Sony has sold 812,000 of its latest console since November 11, the report said. In related news, Wii sales have increased on eBay to rank as the No. 1 most popular video game system at the site, surpassing both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.

This short article was brought to you by news.teambox.com To visit the webpage that this article was taken from click here. But TopTechNews reports that Nintendo is expanding the concept by creating a Mii channel later this year that will allow users to chat with, rate each other's Mii and otherwise interact. Nintendo will also let users play as their Mii in some games.

Nintendo says by adding social networking elements it can create a community around the concept of Mii. It also marks the latest move by the gaming company to expand the Wii from being just a gaming console to a content-delivery tool.

Gaming industry analyst Richard Doherty of Envisioneering Group is quoted as saying the move can pay off big for Nintendo: "Within a year, the Wii may be the most successful and valuable social-networking community on the Web."

"Nintendo is creating a framework for an open environment that will allow other developers to add value," Doherty said. "Interesting third-party solutions could link fans of TV shows, gamers sharing tips, even home-schoolers."

_______________________________
Here is a commerial promoting the Nintendo Wii's Mii Channel.

_____________________________________

Here is a person showing you his Mii Channel and all his wonderful characters! Publisher Codemasters has given us the exclusive scoop on its first project for Nintendo's new generation console. It's called Heatseeker and it's one part Ace Combat, one part After Burner, and all-out speed and destruction. The game is co-developed by IR Gurus, the maker of the well-received historic dogfighter Heroes of the Pacific, and is set for release on Wii, PlayStation 2 and PSP next March. We had the chance to chat with the Ben Board, the title's producer. We've provided that interview plus first-ever gameplay screenshots below.

IGN Wii: Thanks for answering our questions, Ben. How long has Heatseeker been in development and how big is the development team?

Ben Board: Our first jet model rolled out of the hangar in January 2006. The engine for IR Gurus' WWII flight game, Heroes of the Pacific, gave us a great launch pad, so Heatseeker hit the afterburner straight from the start! Since then the core team has grown to thirty people - not including a supporting art team of twenty, fifteen voice actors, a dozen focus testers, a nine-man live action shoot, and a military authenticity consultant. The credits run for eight pages!

IGN WII: Nice. So what's Heatseeker's storyline all about?

Ben: It opens with terrorist attacks reported on a rolling-news TV station. As a peace-keeper in the International Council, you are surprised by a suspiciously well-equipped attack. From there the action never lets up. The globe-spanning trail features an unhinged smuggling boss, a rogue Federation Admiral with a fleet of warships and nothing to lose, and ultimately to a dictator with a nuclear arsenal that you know he'll use.

IGN Wii: How many fighter jets will be available in the finished game?

Ben: You can pull G in over 30 flyable fighters and their amazing variants, and you'll see another ten flying alongside (and exploding into fiery frags) during the game. They include fully licensed planes from the mighty F-15 Eagle and F-16 Falcon to the stealthy fifth generation F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lightning II, and detailed recreations of "bad guys" all the way from the classic MiG-29 and Su-27 to the ultra-modern Su-47 and MiG-1.44. And the final bonus unlock? My favorite plane of all time, the coolest machine to ever take to the skies, packing an armament that you wouldn't believe if I told you (and I'm not going to).

IGN Wii: Do the jets fly differently? How have you worked to give each jet an individual style?

Ben: Absolutely. Each plane has thirty-five individual control parameters - the weight of the plane, the amount of engine thrust, the effectiveness of the afterburners and throttle, the pitch, roll and yaw rates, the amount of lift generated by the wing surfaces - and every one has been tuned to make each plane special. But you don't have to worry about the stuff under the hood. Just choose the one that fits you best, pick the weapon load-out that suits the mission profile, kick the tires and light the fires!
IF YOU WANT THE FULL STORY VISIT HERE!
Source: IGN.com

NINTENDO WII

PS3 Should Not Be Compared To The Wii

SCE Australia boss defends high PS3 price point and insists it should not be compared to Nintendo's Wii.

Sony Australia’s Michael Ephraim has hit back at criticism over the high price point for PS3 by stating the is console in a different league than its competitors and, thus, should not be compared to Nintendo’s considerably cheaper Wii console.

Speaking to website The Age, Ephraim stated “We think PS3 is not a product to be compared with Wii, it is a completely different product. Now, with the brand new Xbox 360 and the soon to be released PS3, Nintendo needs to definitely do something cool in order to keep up with the 2 giants that are leading the game so far. Nintendo’s answer to this situation is the in-development-stages Nintendo Wii. Hopefully, this will be a console capable of competing with Xbox 360 and PS3. Will Wii really manage to give Nintendo a breath of relief? Well, only time can show.

Nintedo Wii has been in development for quite some time now. The initial name of the project was Nintendo Revolution but later on, the guys at Nintendo decided to change it’s name to “Wii” (it’s pronounced we). The console itself is a black (it can also come in other colors, that’s a common practice by Nintendo), sleek, rectangular box with a blue, beautiful, LED illuminated slot-receiver. The exterior follows the concept ‘keep it simple and effective’ and it’s completely different from the flashy Xbox 360.

Leaving the eye-candy aside now, let’s talk about the actual features of the Wii console. First of all, Nintendo promised that the Wii will bring a whole new gaming experience upon it’s arrival. Part of the implementation of this plan is a small controller that comes along with Wii. Although it appears just like a simple TV controller, it contains motion sensors; this feature will be utilized in various gameplay aspects. For example, Titles such as Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Red Steel take advantage of the new controller technology in order to provide the player with an effective way to aim.

Regarding interior hardware aspects of the Wii, what we know by the moment is that it will be equipped with an IBM CPU, an ATI graphics card and a RAM memory of 512MB. Of course, it features wireless controllers, 2 USB ports and a built in antennae for WiFi internet access. Saddly for those who consider it a must, Wii will not support HD output but it still has the potential to look pretty good on a HDTV due to its wide screen friendly mode and the 480p progressive scan.

The last thing to add is that Wii features an amazing backwards compatibility feature. You can play literally any game that Nintendo has ever produced. Yes, even retro games! Finally, another good thing about the Wii is that it will come at a very affordable price; according to Nintendo it is going to cost something less than 250$!

John Gibb is the owner of gamesconsoles facts

For more information on games consoles check out http://www.gamesconsole-guides.info

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=John_Gibb
http://EzineArticles.com/?Nintendo-Wii,-a-Real-Revolution?&id=294046

______________
Nintendo Wii

Nintendo Wii

Welcome to the Nintendo Wii blog.
