<p>Darksiders II was announced for Wii U at e3 2011. It was noted at the time that the game would be a <a title="Darksiders II completely running on Wii U, will be a launch title" href="http://nintendowiiublog.com/darksiders-ii-completely-running-on-wii-u-will-be-a-launch-title/">launch title</a> for the Wii U. Vigil Games Lead designer Hayden Dalton, has today confirmed that Darksiders II will launch alongside the Wii U and has commented on how they are using the Wii U&#8217;s controller in a unique way.</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;That&#8217;s been very interesting to see what those guys are doing, and they&#8217;re making efforts to make sure we do use it in more than a slapdash way.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s basically the core game, but then with added abilities to do certain things that you can&#8217;t do on the other consoles.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;One of the things that we did, when we were originally going to show it off, was that you could equip stuff directly. So, for instance, I could be running along and I could click on another piece and I could put it on as I&#8217;m running through the game,&#8221; he revealed.</p>
<p>&#8220;That&#8217;s huge, it&#8217;s not breaking up the game in a way, I&#8217;m not going into a menu and assigning it, I&#8217;m literally just tapping as I&#8217;m playing.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re not basically heavily changing the core game to support the control system, but the control system will be an enhancement of the core game.&#8221;</p></blockquote>

<p>The Wii U will be released later this year, and whilst there are gamers over the world that are giddy with excitement and are eagerly awaiting it&#8217;s impending release. It seems as though the industry&#8217;s <a title="Analysts – Wii U will have a lukewarm reception at launch" href="http://wiiu-gamer.net/2012/01/20/analysts-wii-u-will-have-a-lukewarm-reception-at-launch/">financial analysts</a> have little faith in Nintendo&#8217;s new console.</p>
<p>Industry Analyst Doug Creutz of Cowen and Company doubt&#8217;s the Wii U, will significantly impact publisher shares when it hit&#8217;s the market.</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;We note that while the WiiU will launch later this year, we do not view it as a likely driver of third party publisher shares given their historically low exposure to Nintendo platforms,&#8221;.</p></blockquote>

<p>Kojima Productions studio head Hideo Kojima recently <a href="http://www.shacknews.com/article/72928/kojima-says-wii-u-a-special-case-requires-unique-software?">commented</a> that if he makes a Wii U game, it would have to be unique and tailored to the device.</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;Wii U is kind of a special case, the way the player interacts with the device is very different than any other device out there. So if I were to make a game for the Wii U, it would have to be a unique game.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t want any misconceptions that [the Fox Engine] is specific to a certain hardware platform, because it&#8217;s not. The way we envision it, it&#8217;s more this platform that isn&#8217;t mounted to a particular hardware.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
