This web service was aptly named as Rejaw(rejaw.com). As we all are aware of the fact that because of the huge user interaction that happens in real time on Twitter actually brings the servers down to its knees. Rejaw was actually gonna fight back against that. Rejaw claimed to hold back the users information in the real time and as long as they are up and running.

Which they later on found, is not that easy. The raw server power which keeps social networking sites on the line does not come cheap and is not easy to maintain.

Was there a formal announcement by Rejaw stating the reasons behind it’s un-realistic failure? As of May 31st, 2009, an application which claimed to compete against Twitter is dead.

You are an advert internet user and you strive for privacy in whatever you do. You do not wish anyone else to look into your browsing habits. You always wish to clean your tracks from the traces of your online presence and You wish to clear the first place where people can see your browsing history.

But, how do we clear the browsing history and the damn URLs which always creep in when you focus the mouse pointer on the address bar? Easy, you just clear the browsing history from Tools -> Options -> Privacy tab and choose the right options or else use Tools -> Clear Private Data and clear the tracks. No, it is not that easy. Even if you use the mentioned methods, there is a very less chance that your browsing history will be deleted. You can again see the URLs in the address bar drop down.

So, the best method would be, rather than to clear the address bar each and everytime, it’s better to config the browser to not even store the URLs in the first place. Ok, how do we do it?

A few steps :

Type ‘about:config’ in the Mozilla Firefox Address bar and Hit Enter. You will be presented the below screen.

Yeah, give the Promise and click the above button to be presented with the Configuration Options of your favorite browser, Firefox.

From the options, move down until you reach ‘browser:urlbar.maxRichResults’. The value at the end of this would be by default ‘12’ and this is the number of URLs being displayed in the address bar and which we are planning to reduce or remove permanently.

So, at last you can double click on it or else right-click and choose ‘Modify’ from the context menu.

Place 0 or else your required number based on your will and wish.

Restart browser.

There, we are done with it now.

Try it.

And, at these times you realise that you have lost the product key that arrives with the program. You can always contact the Technical Support of Microsoft and verify yourself in order to get the lost key by verifying your details. But, this is a time consuming process.

In order to be safe from your side, it’s always best to keep a copy of your product keys and serial numbers at all times. But, we cann ot predict the times at now and then you may need to check the keys in an ad hoc manner. At that times, it is well worth mentioning to use a tool called MSKeyViewer by Todd Sherrer. It’s a tiny 583KB installation file which even provides translations in various languages.

They make working on a computer a blessing in disguise. But, at times you come across some applications which make you think “Why am I using it in the first place?” and “Who suggested me to use this?”. We came across something which would make you feel the same. These kind of applications do not bring in any informative purpose into the daily use and the important chores one does on their PC and they at times appear to be taxing the core performance of the computer.

Have a look at one such application which is christened as DeskPecker. It stands true to its name. And it has got rave reviews too which despise the application and it’s actually reserving quite a negative talk too.

Kids may like a woodpecker perching on every active application and pecking away the window.

At times, you create a new site or blog and wish to test the themes and layouts and wish to play around and tweak the settings a little. You choose different themes and load them up into the Themes folder through FTP and fire them up in your Admin section. All is well, but rather than going the much used path, which is posting gibberish or lorem ipsum text, you choose to copy and paste any of your valuable post which is widely popular in one of your blog or site. This approach is good, if you do not mind the duplicate content warning and missing out the relevant credibility.

But, if you wish to keep your ranking in search results and your authenticity of not posting the duplicate content, then you need to be aware of the method which will enable you to block the search engine spiders as long as you wish to test your site and do not want it to be indexed until and unless you press the Official Release button.

How to do it?

Open your robots.txt file.

Add

User-agent: *
Disallow: /test/

It’s Done.

Do mind that ‘test’ in /test/ is actually the name of the directory which you wish to prevent from indexing.

And, do not forget to remove this code snippet when you are done with testing and going Live.

Do suggest any ideas which you are aware of or implement in order to achieve the same feature. We would like to hear from You.
