pulse in the butter bit by bit until you achieve breadcrumb consistency.
Gradually add the egg yolks mixing all the time and then the milk, until it all
comes together to make a smooth pastry. Cover and rest in the fridge for an
hour.</li><li>For the filling, add the butter, sliced apples, nutmeg,
cinnamon, lemon juice, muscovado sugar, vanilla paste, 2 cloves and cook on a
medium heat for 5 minutes to soften the apples and the spices. </li><li>Whisk the water into the cornflour and then add to the pan
with the apples. Keep cooking for another 10 minutes. Leave to cool. </li><li>Take your pastry out of the fridge and roll out enough for
the top and bottom of your pie dish. </li><li>Grease the bottom of your pie dish with butter and sprinkle
with flour and line the bottom of your pie dish with the pastry, with some
overhanging the lip. Brush the base and sides of the pastry with the leftover
egg whites. This effectively seals the pastry so it doesn’t get a soggy base.</li><li>Add the cooled apple mix to the pie. You want to layer them
so there are no gaps and the top is as flat as possible and in line with the
rim of the pie dish and lay the top layer of pastry. Trim any excess pastry off
and crimp the edge of the pie to your choosing.</li><li>With any excess pastry roll out and cut a desired pattern for
your pie top. Brush the whole top with your egg milk glaze and sprinkle with
the Demerara sugar. Leave in the fridge for 20 mins to avoiding shrinking
pastry.</li><li>Bake your pie for about an hour but keep an eye on it. If it
does start to burn or catch cover with some tin foil or rotate.</li><li>Recommended to be served with some vanilla ice cream or some

of reusing items, but is a little more creative. With upcycling, the goal is to
go above and beyond an items' general expenditure and create something that is

Dementia Action Week is a yearly campaign run by the Alzheimer’s Society that seeks to make the lives of those living with dementia easier. This year, the charity is asking restaurants, schools, workplaces and the wider community to make small changes to better cater for those with the disease.<br />

For the last few years, there has been a great deal of uncertainty about the UK economy. Fortunately for the hospitality industry, the lack of clarity does not seem to be hugely affecting the eating-out market.<br />

Barclaycard tracks consumer spending each month on their cards. The results for January are promising, showing spending up 2.9% on January 2018. Within this data, spending at pubs was up<b> </b>15% and at restaurants up 11%.<br />

The steel of your knife's blade can be melted down and re-used. But recycling is the last of the three <b>R</b>'s - <b>R</b>educe, <b>R</b>e-use, <b>R</b>ecycle.<br />

This means if you can find a way to re-purpose the knife instead, you'll be making a more valued contribution to energy saving. Stainless steel is still an attractive material to any recycling facility due to its valuable elements including chromium, nickel and molybdenum.<br />

Finally, if you must discard your knives they will need to be heavily wrapped and secured to avoid any potential injury during bin collections.<br />

Start by wrapping the knife using paper, bubble wrap, cardboard or Styrofoam. Secure the wrapping with tape and place a cork on the tip of the blade if possible. Next, find a puncture-proof container for the knives and mark it clearly with 'Caution: Sharp'. You can then place the container into your refuse. <br />

Don't chuck out your knife set just yet! How are the edges of each blade? As the edge becomes blunted you will notice a drop-off in performance, but that doesn't mean they are beyond salvage.
