How to protect your iPhone with a password

Your Iphone as more information then you think, with the info you store on it for work or for your social life someone can steel it and acces all this information. That's why i give you this tutorial to protect your iPhone with a password.

Step 1
Press the center button on your iPhone to engage it. Find the "Settings" buttons. Press the Settings button.

Step 2
Once you have pressed the Settings button, it will take you to a General screen and that screen will have a vertical list, which starts with About, Usage, Network, etc. Scroll down until you see Passcode lock.

Step 3
Press Passcode lock. At the top of this screen you will see something that says "Set Passcode" and the option to enter a four digit passcode beneath. Enter your four digits. Re-enter them.

Step 4
Now you will be taken back to the Passcode lock, where it will say "Turn Passcode Off" at top. This indicates that it is on. Below you can adjust the settings... ideally, the Require Passcode can be adjusted to turn on after 1 minute, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 1 hour or 4 hours.

Step 5
I set mine for 5 minutes because it is annoying having to constantly engage the passcode and yet, assuming you lose your phone, you want that protection on. The way to do this is by pressing "Require Passcode" and pressing the "Five minutes" button. A check will appear on the right side of five minutes to show that this amount of time has been engaged.

Step 6
Press "Passcode lock" at the upper left hand to get back to your Passcode Lock Screen. Press General to return to your main security screen. Press the center button on your phone to return to your phone's main screen.

Browsers are not perfect, when you input the right thing, come Crash and it's ugly.

Come see your browser fail and be careful not to have anything important because it works.

Optimise the way Blogger or BlogSpot display your title

Search engine bring a lots of people to blogs and websites, that why it's important to display a title that would attract visitors.In this post I will tell you why and how to change the title in your Blogger/Blogspot blog.

The way BlogSpot display the titles of blogs is not always the best because it shows the name of your blog first, so when your page shows up in Google, visitors would see for this post "NJR-Team : Optimise the way Blogger or BlogSpot display your title".

People who search in search engine are looking quickly for their result, so simply having NJR-Team at the beginning that has no link with the subject can make you lose some viewers.

The optimal way to show the title for my blog in Google is : " Optimise the way Blogger or BlogSpot display your title | NJR-Team". This way is the best because I'm still having the name of the blog in the title but I'm having the title first so people will click more.

So here is how to change it.

Go to Layout > Edit HTML
Backup your Existing Template

The other day while writing a text Cyberwarfare: hackers support the troops I had a sick idea! In the article I said that hackers could hack everything using a computer and or a satellite. So I started to think about everything that can be hacked. My first thought was missile, but after a while I thought about cardiac implant! Can they be hacked? I did some research and I found out that they can.

It is possible for doctors to access modern pacemaker with a short-range radio signal. This system allows them to store the patient information, monitor its vital-sign and upgrade the pacemaker version. The communication between the pacemaker and the control device is also unencrypted; this means that a person with the correct equipment can access all the info and even change the software inside the pacemaker.
In a paper published, Kevin Fu says : “Manufacturers point out that IMDs have used radio communication for decades, and that they are not aware of any unreported security problems. [...]it would be foolish to assume that IMDs are any more immune to malware[..]. Much like Mac users can take comfort in that most malware today takes aim at Windows applications, patients can take comfort in that IMDs seldom rely on such widely targeted software for now.”

Kevin Fu and its team have developed a device that can access to a pacemaker and reprogram it. The size of the device is similar to a cell phone and has a range of 10 meter They used it to reprogram a pacemaker installed inside a block of meat to demonstrate the exploit. After the reprogramming, the pacemaker could not go back in sleep mode and drained its batteries in days instead of years.

Hopefully, there never was any known attack of this type and with the demonstration of the attack, Fu and his team also proposed solution to make implants more secure. By doing so they might have contributed to save lots of life. If you have a peacemaker, don’t freak out. The chances that you find yourself at 10 meter of someone that has the knowledge to do such equipment, an intense knowledge of pacemaker and the will to kill for no reason, is very low. I’m sure there is more chances that you meet someone that has the will to kill people for no reason but with a gun.

Cyber warfare: Hackers support the troops

War is old as the world, only the way to do it has changed with time. During its evolution, the human race changed the way they were making war. They started with bare hands fighting, then with rocks and sticks, then with swords, bows and boats and finally gun, tanks, planes and missiles . Now in all the new modern wars, there is a new tool that generals can use to complete their strategies; Cyber warriors!

Cyber warriors, are basically hackers hired or trained by government or an organisation. There can do several things to help the military. Even if they don’t go and fight up close and personal with the enemy on the field, they can use their magic to gather sensitive or classified information that can be used to gain the advantage on the enemy, uncover enemy spies or find good target for a high precision missile strike. Just like spies, they can also do some good old sabotage. All critical infrastructures; like power, water, fuel, communication and transportation can be the target of their attack. We had a preview of what it would be like to be the target of a cyber attack in “Live Free or Die Hard” the 2008 movie starring Bruce Willis. That kind of attack can completely paralyse everybody’s life for hours and is very bad against the enemy’s moral. Who would say no to shutting down the enemy’s production of weapons?

Talking about moral, cyber army’s can diffuse propaganda more efficiently then in the past, instead of pouring flyers out of big airplanes, they will spam your cell phone and your e-mailbox with messages, this method is also less expensive in money and human life. They can deface websites to make it say whatever they want it to say. What does this do? Imagine that you go on your local news website and you see a page saying that your government lie to you and then an article about how they killed thousands of innocent. This can bring doubt and its show to the population an action on the enemy on their everyday life

The most impressive thing they can do is to actually intercept or replace orders given to every enemy unit that use a computer and /or satellite; everything that uses a computer is at risk even an aiming missile. That hack is so useful, they can steal the identity of the enemy headquarter and tell an enemy unit to hold their position, while the artillery strike is on its way.

These attacks can also be done against us also, so we need to secure our country’s infrastructures, invest money and take serious every threat. Because cyber wars exist here some exemple :

So that might why on the April 7, 2009, The Pentagon announced they spent more than $100 million in the last six months responding to and repairing damage from cyber attacks and other computer network problems.

Hackers have their uses in modern wars, they will be used more and more,they will never replace the spies but working in cooperation with them will make hackers work more efficient.Even if in this article we focused of a cyber war between countries, the most common use of all cyber war is between companies, unfair concurrent that will do everything to get to the top.

Windows 7 is not out yet and we know Microsoft is already working on Windows 8. The question I’m asking today is what name should we give to that Windows? Well I have some ideas for its name.

I like Microsoft Windows Aqua, because I can see myself writing a news in 2015 : “Microsoft Windows Aqua leaked”.
One of my other choice is: Microsoft Windows Skynet, I don’t really need to explain why.
What about Microsoft Windows Revolution, you see if they have the name, maybe they will propose something new.
I saw on a serious website Microsoft Windows Vista. I don’t know why someone would name another product by the name of a failure.
I know it’s boring but I’m trying to be serious. I propose Microsoft Windows 8

Recently we received some questions about how Google uses (or more accurately, doesn't use) the "keywords" meta tag in ranking web search results.

Suppose you have two website owners, Alice and Bob. Alice runs a company called AliceCo and Bob runs BobCo. One day while looking at Bob's site, Alice notices that Bob has copied some of the words that she uses in her "keywords" meta tag. Even more interesting, Bob has added the words "AliceCo" to his "keywords" meta tag. Should Alice be concerned?

At least for Google's web search results currently (September 2009), the answer is no. Google doesn't use the "keywords" meta tag in our web search ranking. This video explains more, or see the questions below.

Top 5 things the perfect web surfer does

I have recently started blogging and as a blogger I have begun to see things differently about how I should surf the net, before I realised this, I was a very bad visitor for other’s sites. I had been using the websites without thinking how much effort people made to put up useful and critical information for me. Now searching method has changed, it might be a little less efficient but I’ve found a lot of information that I would not have seen without my new code of ethic.

Writing comments

The first thing I started to do since I realised my bad behaviour was to start writing comments on the website I went on. Many would say that it’s useless but just writing a thank you will make them know that what they did was useful to someone! Also it could be a good way to give them motivation to continue writing about new things or to modify their post to make it better for the next person. Motivation, my friend, is what most small website or blog use to continue their good work!

Bookmarking or evaluating

Another very good way to make a web page owner happy is to give it’s url to your friends, if you found the content of the page useful. If you did but no friend is interested in the subject, you can always use the bookmarking tools like Digg(To vote or to refer) that can be available on their page. This is likely to bring new users to the website and the more users the webpage have, the more likely it is to result in more content they will post, which can potentially be advantageous to you.
Looking all around the page
Another think I found I was doing wrong is I was always looking at the information I needed and then if I found it or not, I would simply leave the page. Since I stopped doing this, I found many interesting topics that website owner had put in reference. So now I look more at the page and it’s surrounding, I can see related pages, the subscribe buttons and the advertisements.

When I was not aware of the website owner side, I was avoiding clicking on any ad. If an advertisement had info I was looking for, I preferred copy-pasting the URL of the advertisement and copying it in the address bar so that the guy would not get any money. I did not do that on purpose; I was seeing the advertisement as an unpleasant thing so by not clicking on it WRONG!The only thing that would go away before the advertisement is the website itself. Advertisement is essential to every website so now I look at advertisement, searching for something I might be interested in. I do this because I know it’s going to put money directly in the pocket of the website owner. Earlier I said that motivation was what makes run every website, I don’t need to tell you how much motivation money is giving, you know that already.

Answers polls and surveys

With this said, I’d like to remind you of the presence of a poll of my website, right now there is 1 user every 150 visitor that answers it. Now, I’ll write with my blogger point of view, answering a poll is for you, you see the one on my site is “Do you like this site?” Why would someone ask such a question? The answer is: for improvement. I can edit the contents of my posts, I can be more careful with the spelling and grammar and I can improve the page layout. Those are the things I can change with the answers from poll. Answering it is easy and it help you just as much as it helps me.

Donation

If you really want to give a kick to a website, give it money! On this website there is no donation option because it’s free for me to host the site (if you insist on giving money it’s fine by me). Many open source project fuel on donation though, for instance Open Office make a good and free replacement for Office products which cost more than 200$, basically Open Office makes you save 200$. How about giving them a little bit of helpful money? Most of the open source projects fail due to lack of money.

Finally, we saw the 5 thing that the perfect web user does. The first thing is to comment on pages, also he makes pass the information on websites to his friend that might be interested in it or evaluate it with the tools available on the website. The perfect web user does not just come on the page and then leave; he takes time to look at everything on the page. Answering polls and survey is also very kind although not as much as donation. All this ethic of surfing the web also bring us the question: what does the perfect website owner should do?

Digg : ignore small website post.

I have submitted several news with Digg and unfortunately, not only none of them got Digged but also none of them have been clicked on! You’re going to tell me that I just need to get quality content or to put an interesting title and a good description, but that’s just some false reasons that Digg user tell everyone.

I suspect that to get on the front page of Digg I would need a website with around 1000 visitor per day. I tell you right now, I don’t have thousands of visitors, but I’m working on it.

You see I’m not trying to get to the Top page of Digg I’m trying to get Digged maybe 10 times and I know I’m not alone. Everybody is trying not to get completely ignored.

Digg this if you’re ignored by Digg users.

I did a test the other day, just to see if it was me who was writing shitty content. I took an article for the inquirer about the iPhone, it was a very good article, I’ve submitted it to Digg and waited. Just guess how many people clicked on it? 0 again. This proved me that the problem was not me but maybe the way Digg is made. You need to search to get not Digged content and I understand that Digg want to give its users the contents they liked then most, but by doing this, they let go a lot of good quality contents.

So I came to the conclusion that it was not possible to compete with article on Digg top page, because they are all posted my website that does 1000$ per day in advertisement.

Windows vista to 7 pro Upgrade caused my Outlook 2007 to act crazy

I decided to upgrade my computer from Windows Vista to Windows Seven this week. The installation worked well and I was able to use windows 7 without problem. The OS works great, way better then Vista, it has a nice and natural interface, but after I stopped looking at the new functionalities and started to work again, I realized there was something very wrong with my Outlook 2007.

I was receiving e-mails under wrong person name and people I was sending e-mails to were telling me they weren’t receiving anything. I was confused, then I found the source of it, it was my contact list, it was all messed up. All the information on it looked correct, but when I was adding people to send them an e-mail with the contact button, the e-mail in the contact list was different than the one that appeared.

I looked on internet for someone that had the same problem as I did, but it’s seems it’s only me. Also I’m pretty sure that my outlook was working fine before I did the upgrade. I admit that not everybody install windows seven these days because it’s not out yet (I got my version legally with my MSDNAA account) but I mean I’m not alone to have done the upgrade. Luckily, I was able to fix my problem.

Basically, what I did to correct the problem is I deleted all my contacts, but then they were still in my blackberry so with the synchronise tool of the phone, I added back everybody and the problem was gone.
