Open Call

Open Calls are held on select Days!

Small children under 12 come as you are!

NLS Model Management Agency invites aspiring models to attend an open call. During the open call, NLS Model Management Agency will study your appearance, examine your skill set, determining if you have modeling potential. In addition to attending an open call, aspiring models may submit to become a NLS Model by completing our evaluation form providing their contact information, measurements, and images. Due to model submission of heavy volume, NLS Model Management Agency will only respond within 7 business days to those that strike an interest encouraging you to attend the open call.

OPEN CALL PREPARATION

ATTIRE & GROOMING

Dress: arrive dressed in jeans and a solid colored top.

Ladies- wear high heels that are not wedges. No jewelry is to be worn. Only if you are a dress size 4-6, instead of wearing jeans, wear a solid colored form-fitting dress and heels.

Swim Suit: Ladies- underneath your clothing wear a 2-piece solid colored swim suit revealing your stomach. Do not apply to the Fall/Winter Season

Men- solid colored boxer briefs.

Children & Classic- no swim suit needed.

Makeup: Day makeup, light makeup. no makeup preferred

Hair: Wear hair down and frizz-free. Hair should be free of accessories. Bring a hair tie.

PICTURES
Portfolio & composite cards (optional)
2 non-refundable images: (mandatory!) 1 face shot & 1 full body shot.

-Images must be clear and in color

-On the backside of each image include your name, contact info, age, and height, and measurements

-Images may be printed any size and do not have to be professional.

*Do not attend the open call if you do not have images to provide

RESUME
Only If you have previous modeling experience, then create a modeling resume with the following format: 1.) Your name and thumbnail picture of you on the top, 2.) measurements, 3.) contact info, 4.) modeling jobs done (commerical, fashion, promotions, acting), 5.) awards, 6.) fluent languages, 7.) skills/hobbies 8.) training, and 9.) photo shoot section listing all completed shoots:

-Concept of shoot (fashion, lifestyle, beauty, etc)

-Photographer name/ website

-Makeup artist name/ website

-Hair stylist name/ website

-Wardrobe stylist name/ website

-Other talent name/ website

Please do not go out and get an expensive photo shoot, we provide the photo shoot for you.

NOTE: NLS Model Management Agency is only interested in serious individuals that will invest in their personal appearance, skill set, photo shoots, and marketing materials. Come prepared to the open call. Models under the age of 18 may bring 2 guardians. We recommend you use your GPS, as people do tend to get lost.

NLS Model Management Agency is seeking new interns that may include but is not limited to Photographers, Makeup Artists, Hair Stylists, Wardrobe Stylists, or Nail Artists. Talent must possess a certain quality and diversity in work. NLS Model Management Agency advises you to have formal training as well as a diversified high quality portfolio of images. Also, we recommend that you have worked with a diversified set of models ranging in ethnicity and race. If you are confident you have quality images as well as a diversified representation of photographed models we encourage you to submit. NLS Model Management is seeking internship candidates that possess dedication, a go-getter attitude, fast-paced learning, and a passion for the modeling industry. Internship candidates must be reliable, fast working, detail-oriented, organized, outgoing and polite. Responsibilities may include assisting in model scouting, model development, model booking, graphic design, photography, data entry and research. Internships are available for college credit. Candidates are suggested to have a car an internet ready laptop. Experience is not needed, but is certainly a plus. If accepted for an internship, you must be willing to intern for a 4 -month time commitment.

NL Cosmetics Plum and Berry Twist Eyeshadow

Directions: Place waxes in a double boiler and heat gently until both ingredients are melted. Remove from heat and place wax into a bowl. This will be the wax base for your eye shadow. Combine the magnesium stearate, baby powder and mica powder in a bowl. Add the colored powdered eye shadow to the bowl containing the melted waxes. Quickly and carefully mix the colored powder eye shadow, stirring constantly. If the mixture starts to set, re-melt it by placing it back into the double boiler. When fully blended together, pour mixture into a sterilized container. Allow mixture to sit for at least three hours before using. This is how we get a deep plum and berry eyeshadow that last all day.

What is so fascinating about making your own colors vs having them pre-packaged, varies with opinions. I can only tell you what I feel about any product information. Being a very creative person makes it hard sometime, playing by all the rules. Likewise, I know you are wondering what do we mean by that. Well, let me tell you, to the best of my knowledge, that some cosmetic companies add ingredients in your cosmetics that can be very harmful to your health and in many cases they can cause you to have lung cancer. Lets not focus on just that particular illness, there are new reports coming out in the media, claiming that some ingredients may cause birth defects in pregnancy. I only place in your cosmetics what is required for them to have a long shelf life. Most preservatives can do that like grape seed oil which I use a lot in most of our products. So please, by all means do your own research on ingredients before you apply them to your face. However, the good news is the FDA approves most preservatives. Likewise, the ones they do not approve, we as a cosmetic line cannot either place the preservatives in our products or sale them to the public. That is their job and I have no problem with that. This is what makes them the FDA, they are there to protect the public from disastrous companies who has only the dollar bill in mind and not your health. Now, lets take a look at the lipstick I named Bronze Pearl, I mixed three colors together to create this bronze surprise with a twist of pearl. This color can be warn all year however, I highly recommend it for the Fall/Winter season if you are light and if you have a more olive or darker tone, it is possible you can play this color off through out the seasons. My advice for the Spring/Summer season is to have fun using lighter colors such as lavender, yellow, pink, and orange. It does not matter what shade you are for these colors live well, love, and always put God first. Thanks for reading this review. Please do not hesitate to leave a comment.

NL Cosmetics Mineral Foundation Shades

Making cosmetics is fun once you get passed all the red tape. Matching colors that range from light to dark can be challenging due to the massive undertones we find in your skin. If you have a red undertone, we advised you not to buy a foundation with a yellow undertone. The yellow undertone will wash you out and make you look grey and dull. Here are just a few colors I decided to post, so that you can see what a red vs yellow vs neutral undertone look like. Pay close attention to the first color and tell me what undertone would be appropriate for someone wit a red undertone. Then I want you to to look at the second and third shade as well. Post your comment and tell us what you think are the right shade of undertones for red, yellow, and neutral, you will be surprised at the answer. I will give you a hint, opposites do not attract when it comes to cosmetics.
