Levain Bakery & Strawberry Fields

2012-08-19T23:45:00.002-04:00

My roommate Ryan loves chocolate chip cookies and as such is always on a quest to discover the "best cookie ever". According to Yelp and some other sources, a bakery called Levain Bakery (http://www.levainbakery.com/) on the Upper West Side has the best cookie in New York City.

1600 reviews and 4.5 stars later, we set out to try it for ourselves. They only serve 4 types of cookies: chocolate chip walnut, double chocolate, chocolate peanut butter, and oatmeal raisin.

I tried the chocolate chip walnut which was still hot from the oven. The cookie was delicious and huge!!!

Afterwards we headed to Central Park and found ourselves at the John Lennon "Imagine" memorial in a part of the park renamed "Strawberry Fields" in his memory.

This part of the park is right outside of the building he lived in and was shot outside of, the Dakota.

I am starting this blog over as of tonight. Here are some pictures I've taken this summer in NYC:

From the rooftop of a SoHo hotel, looking downtown towards the World Trade Center.

Another hotel rooftop, this time in the Lower East Side, looking uptown towards the Empire State Building and everything else!

A view of midtown east from Queens withe the Chrysler Building, UN Headquarters, and Trump Tower.

Jane's Carousel in Brooklyn Bridge Park with the Manhattan Bridge in the background.

on sunday we took a 3 hour guided bus tour all over london. we stopped to take pictures at a bunch of places including st. paul's cathedral, westminister abbey, parliament+big ben, buckingham palace, and the thames river. our tour guide was this old british lady that was too funny. at one point, we drove past speaker's corner in hyde park where people go to make speeches and she said only extremists go there to be heard and in naming different types of extremists she mentioned vegetarians hahahahhahah
