This Twitter poster identifies the venue as the “GOP Modern Media Strategies Workshop” in 2006. It’s a really interesting video of Stephen making an earnest (i.e. out of character) pitch for Republican participation in BKADs and the like. I think his responses to people worried about the potential for their representatives to make fools of themselves are spot on.

Being as we’re in the middle of summer, I thought I would feature the episode from 6/25/2007 with one of my favorite Threatdowns of all time: The Tropical Edition which features the dolphin which nearly took out my mom’s thumb (in a move both idiotic and hilarious). Plus, I don’t care how long the man has been out of office, Dick Cheney bashing will always be funny. Hello Zoners! In my search for today’s featured episode at ColbertNation.com, I stumbled over the Word: I am the Great and Powerful Oz. After laughing myself to tears over how true his indictment over my state’s educational system is, and seeing that this episode also featured the Better Know A District with Representative Brad Sherman, aka the porn BKAD, I knew I had today’s Klassic Kolbert. These two additions are the ones that made me feel the warmest and fuzziest inside: clips of Stephen watching and reacting to the video of his stint at basic training. They’re short, but they’re sure to bring a smile to the face of anyone who’s been to a taping and watched Stephen watch himself.

Let’s face it, Stephen cracking himself up is just so darned cute!

You knew this was coming, Zoners. I just had to feature some of the beautiful singing and dancing from the “Colbert Christmas” special this break. I listen to “Cold, Cold Christmas” all the time, and even though I have the DVD, it’s still on my TiVo. I still love the heck out of this special, and I absolutely adore the music.

So grab your eggnog with lots of nutmeg, your favorite white sweater, and your latkes, and enjoy some wonderful Christmas cheer!

I’m no complainer (not that I get any credit for it), but I’ve got to tell my story — not so much for myself as for my fellow artists everywhere. Things might be different if I were a painter, or a sculptor, but I’m not. I’m an omphaloskeptic. And the sad truth is, I can no longer make a living gazing at my own navel.

The bees are coming and going FROM HIS MOUTH!!

How cool/crazy is this artwork?! Colbert Nation member and avid bee-thusiast Susan M. Brackney, author of “Plan Bee: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About the Hardest-Working Creatures on the Planet”, has made the most unique piece of fan art I have ever seen. It’s a beehive, with a picture of Stephen Colbert painted on the side. And the bees go in and out of the hive THROUGH STEPHEN COLBERT’S MOUTH!! Holy cow! At the end, there’s a long shot of the picture and the bees. I just couldn’t look away. I also learned quite a bit about beekeeping and honeybee hives. Knowledge is power!
