Can't help myself for getting these lovely x'mas themed cupcakes for my little darling.

We had a great x'mas celebration this year. We were thinking not to celebrate this year as our new helper has yet to arrive and I am heavily pregnant; hence it may be a little to much to handle. But at the last minute, we decided to have a simple x'mas do.

This is our first x'mas at our new home. We bought a roasted turkey from Cold Storage. Big sis prepared bruchetta, mushroom soup and seafood oglio aglio pasta. Dessert was Wall's Viennetta ice cream and cupcakes from Cupcake Chic.

Of course the night ended with the must-have gift-exchange and photo session.

Fluffy - Darling's new favourite

Just learned that darling really like fluffy soft toys. I gave her a teddy bear that I got it free from purchases and she likes it so much that she goes everywhere with it!

She saw this really fluffy fox key chain when shopping with my sisters few days back and she just fell in love with it. She kept saying "it's soooooo soft and fluffy, more fluffy than my teddy... so adorable!". Seeing how much she loves it, sis just have to buy it for her. Good thing that it was not expensive. She came home and asked everyone to feel how soft her new 'toy' is.

Now she goes everywhere with Teddy and Fluffy (she gave them the names!).

Maid Left

Our indon maid has been with us for 2 years and 9 months. She arrived on the day when my darling daughter was born and she just left for good on the 5 of Dec 2009.

She was ok overall, I particularly like her patient with my child. But she's the type that only does what is told and always day dream; many times we yelled out our lungs yet she still didn't hear us !?

I was worried how my darling daughter would take her departure. 'Pre-empted' her few weeks before by telling her kakak has to return to her hometown soon and she started crying... But surprisingly the 'drama' I was expecting on the departure day did not happen!

Darling was sticky to kakak when we told her we are leaving to airport soon. Perhaps kakak's 'drama' of crying out loud and kneeling down to my mom gave her a shock. Darling was telling my sister, "kakak is crying, I don't want to disturb her...". She only started crying when we drove away to airport and she was left at home with my mom and other sister. I later found out that she was actually crying for me and not for kakak!

She is still thinking of kakak now, many times she said "kakak is not back yet, let's leave some food for her", "why kakak take so long to come back?". I'm really proud of how well darling is taking this 'separation' :o)

False Alarm

Thank goodness it was just a false alarm! Hubby's 2nd test has confirmed that he has contracted Influenza A and NOT H1N1. What a great relieve!!!

I was worried sick yesterday. Hubby was under quarantine and was all by himself in the house; I was so worried if his condition worsen and we would not be alerted in-time.

Big thanks to Dr. Choo who recommended the 2nd test and informed us the result first thing in the morning!

Hubby has H1N1!

Its confirm. He has H1N1.

I'm 23 weeks pregnant. My mom is diabetic. My daughter is 2 years +. We are all under the high risk group!

Hubby has moved out to quarantine himself. I now have to pay close attention if my mom, my darling daughter and myself has any of its symptom and have to act fast. Maid is leaving in 3 days; new maid would only come at least a month after!! Damn! Why is this happening now?

Crossing my fingers. Please god, let us all be safe and healthy!

Pregnancy Pampering - Clarins Pregnancy Massage

This 2nd pregnancy is more tiring than the 1st. Maybe due a bigger tummy, I feel more heavy and clumsy than last pregnancy.

I thought RM 265 for a 1.5 hour session of pregnancy massage at Clarins was expensive. But I really long to pamper myself to a relaxing massage; so RM 265 it is, I booked a session for myself!

No regret at all, it was worth every penny of it! Clarins Institute at 1 Utama offers great ambiance and privacy with individual treatment room with an attached shower. My therapist was professional and friendly, explaining in great detail of the treatment process and products to be used; convincing me that the treatment is 100% safe.

The treatment started off with a full body scrub, followed by a shower and a full body massage. The whole process was so relaxing and enjoyable. The room light was dimmed, soft music in the background and the treatment bed actually has a heater with controllable temperature! No worries about getting a cold while being massaged (especially after delivery)!

It has been a week since the massage, my skin is still so soft and smooth and I sleep so well everynight! I remember paying RM 100+ for a pregnancy massage at a simple maternity service centre during my last pregnancy. There were no private rooms, no shower facility, no heated treatment bed (you sat on a fit-ball for the massage treatment), no ambiance and no high quality skin care products. Clarins pregnancy massage is really worthwhile in comparison.

I am so looking forward to my next session.

Kindie Hunting

Decided to send darling to kindie come January 2010. She's spending too much time watching tv at home and she lacks social skills; always cry or keep mum when she meets strangers.

Found this kindie near our home and decided to check it out. Brought darling along as I wanted her to see how a kindie is like, to prepare her for her 'school-life'.

Upon entering the kindie, darling clung to me like a koala and started crying out loud! She kept crying and saying wants to go home. While I was trying to talk to the principal, she wouldn't let me, she used her hands to turned my head away! It was so hilarious!

We let the maid carry her to wait for us outside the premise while we went upstairs to check-out the facilities. When we came down after 5 mins, she was asleep in the maid's arm... exhausted by the hysterical cry!

Were not surprised by her reaction, just wonder how long she would take to get adjusted to attending kindie on her own...

Pre-natal check-up at week 21, doc said: this is baby's bottom, see this white line? its the vagina !!??

What happened to the 'white spot' between the legs that could be the 'koo koo' ????

If it wasn't for the previous 'white spot' remark by the doc, we would be receiving this piece of news much better.

Don't get us wrong, we are very very happy to have another daughter (looking at how cheeky our 2+ yo now :o) ); but due to doc's previous remark which has 'mis-guided' our expectations, we couldn't help but to feel a little dissapointed.

I actually 'felt bad for feeling dissapointed'. I didn't want baby to feel she is not welcome; I am sure she can 'feel it'. So I 'talked' to baby and 'apologised' to her. I hope she will forgive me.

We already have a lovely name for her :D

Upset daddy

Darling daughter made daddy really upset the other day when she cried and yell out loud while daddy was trying to hold her. Darling has always been 'less attached' to daddy than to me... but I was surprised by her reaction on that day too!

After numerous urging, darling finally said sorry to daddy... but daddy was still very hurt I could see and this makes my heart aches...

Luckily today daddy is still very concern when I told him about darling's mouth ulcer. I hope he will forget about this unhappy incident soon.

Darling daughter wanted to know if there are such things as 'lizard kakak', 'lizard grandma' and so on... in an essence; is lizard family similar to our family. I said 'I think so, why not you ask the lizard next time?'.

Few minutes later a lizard appeared on the wall, darling went near and said 'hello, is your name kakak? what is your name?'... then turn to me and said 'why the lizard is not talking to me wan?'... CUTE!

Last ante-natal check-up was at 17 weeks. Doc pointed out 'a white spot' between the baby's leg... could be a 'koo koo' he said; but not confirm !

Mickey Mouse Overload

My little one is one big big fan of Mickey Mouse. She's literally watching the VCD through out the day! She's speaking most of the lines in the show, her current favourite being "the instruction says we need 3 and a half capfuls of bubble bath" (in American accent mind you!).

And after full day of Mickey VCDs, she will ask us to read her the Mickey Mouse story books; not one time, but at least 3 times in a row!

Yes! We're having our 2nd baby !!!! It still seems a bit surreal now...

Well, I found out about the pregnancy kinda early this time; the doc can't even tell how many weeks I'm pregnant and the Expected Due Date of the baby yet. I'm guessing I should be around 4 weeks now.

Some signs of morning sickness has already appeared :( I just couldn't brush my teeth now without gagging like mad! Luckily the nausea isn't too bad now; fingers-crossed that it will only get better and not worse.

Hunting for Tamiflu

Hubby flew off to Guangzhou on Sunday morning. To protect himself against the flu outbreak, he equipped himself with loads of face-masks, hand sanitizing gel and Tamiflu. Was fortunate to be able get 5 boxes of Tamiflu; as it was snapped up when it was published in the media that it is the prevention drug against Influenza-A. The price has gone up from RM 105 per box to RM 140 per box within 24 hours!!

Face-masks is another item which the price has doubled overnight. Normal price for a box of 50 pieces 3-ply surgical mask is RM 24.90. It is now sold at RM 50.00 per box; if you are lucky enough to a box that is!

I have been coughing and having flu like symptom for almost 3 weeks now but no I don't have any fever or diarrhoea. So I don't think I have Influenza-A. To protect mui mui from catching all these bugs from me. I have been wearing a face-mask whenever I am near her, that include sleeping time! I hate how the mask makes my face super oily and sticky.

My goodness! I've taken this vaccinne and now come all these news about serious side effects and unknown long term effects it may bring. I must say that I was lucky to not have any side effects at all through out all my 3 shots. But what about any other long term side effects that may only surface later??

Well, guess there is nothing much I can do. Just pray, hope and have faith that the vaccine will only bring positive effects; to prevent HPV infection that is.

It has been easily 7 years ago that I last had this. I still remember the person who introduced this brand of cookies to me. I think it taste even better now since I've not eaten it for so long; or maybe its the sweet memory it brings back :o)

Passport to travel!

The last time we traveled was last January to Chiangmai. Ever since we had darling daughter, travelling has really been a luxury. It is not the financial issue, but we have problem getting someone to care for darling while we are away.

Was 'itching to travel' since it has been awhile but to our astonishment; hubby's passport was missing!!! Cheng cheng cheng cheng... how to travel without a passport !?

After making a police report and submitted his passport application at the immigration department, was told to call back after a month to check on status. Thank goodness they finally 'completed the investigation' and he got his passport yesterday. Now... let's see where shall we go...

Outing Ideas

We are quite boring and lousy parents. We normally just bring our girl to the playroom downstairs at our condo or bring her to the bookshop. Although she enjoys both activities very much, but I really think we should have more interesting and educational activities for her.

We brought her to the zoo as part of her "birthday celebration" and she had so much fun. Still talking about it even it was almost 2 months ago that we went. She will still says "Hippopotamus was having a bath", "Elephant was eating banana", "Supposed to see penguin, but penguin gone home" (we told her there will be penguin at the zoo (her favourite animal) but was disappointed to find none! the 'cold room' was empty!!) and many more.

Coming Labour Day holiday, we are planning to bring her to the Aquaria at KLCC. Hope she will enjoy it.

Multi-lingual Playhouse Disney Channel

I never knew Playhouse Disney Channel (channel 613 on Astro) has multiple language selection. Learned about this by chance and found out Pokoyo is available in Bahasa & Mandarin too!

We are trying to get our girl to pick-up Mandarin as a preparation for her to go to Mandarin kindie and primary school. So I put on Pokoyo in Mandarin for her this morning; but she doesn't like it :( Keep saying "I don't want this..."

She can speaks minimal Mandarin now, such as:

zhe ge shi shum more (what is this?)
how pu how (Is it good?)
low shu (mouse)
mei yo le (no more)
pu jien le (missing)

Mui Mui 'Reading'

Mui Mui as we fondly call our 2 year old little girl; is into 'reading' these days. Not that she can actually read, but she 'pretends to be reading' by flipping her books and recite the stories we have read to her from her memory.

She can 'read' the whole 5 pages of Little Read Riding Hood.

Her favourite lines from Alice in Wonderland: "Alice was tired of sitting at the bank with nothing much to do. The sun is making her sleepy and she is just wondering about making a daisy chain when a rabbit ran past saying oh dear! oh dear! I shall be too late. Taking a watch from his waistcoat pocket. Alice has never seen a rabbit with waistcoat or a pocket watch, so she followed him to see where he is going. When the rabbit went down a rabbit-hole. Down went Alice after it. Suddenly, Alice felt herself falling. She landed on a heap of dry leaves. Oh dear! How late it is getting, she heard the rabbit saying..."

Sick, sick, sick!

We have been all sick! Seems there are some serious bugs around.

My girl vomited, had diarrhoea and super high fever (up to 39.5 degree Celcius!) from Sunday till Wednesday. I've been coughing for almost 2 weeks now and was down with stomach flu at the same time when my daughter was sick. Can you imagine driving to the doctor's clinic, sponging your burning child the whole night, wrestling with her to get her to swallow her medication and checking her temperature every 15 mins the whole night while you are feeling light headed, feverish and nauseous all at the same time? Gosh... hope this will never ever happen again.

Hubby was not spared, he was also down with stomach flu like me.

It has been a long long 6 months that I've abandoned this blog. Been too busy to write at home and my company has actually blocked all access to blogger.com, facebook and instant messengers (including web-based)! Can you imagine the boring working life without all these!? It was almost hell!

A lot has happened in these 6 months. My little girl has grown so much and is now 2 years and 1 month old. My dad has left us suddenly on 12th of February 2009 after a heart-attack. I've officially stopped breastfeeding on 16th of February 2009; after 23 months of being a moo.
