The singular thing I have been unable to get out of my head for the last week is Stella Gibson. For the uninitiated, DSI Stella Gibson is the main character on the BBC show The Fall. The show first aired in 2013 to much acclaim, but like the brits do (Luther is another great example), they didn't anticipate a second season. AND by the time they decided they wanted to do S2, the actors were booked on other projects. They ultimately shot and aired S2 (albeit two years later) and have now announced a S3 (shooting to begin in 2016).

As is a theme here, for some reason I never payed much attention to Gillian Anderson. Granted I really loved Playing By Heart, but of course that played right into my AJ obsession. Maybe it was the red hair (or the bad shoulder pads?) she had for the decade long X-Files era, maybe it was the fact that she just hadn't entered into my prime age group yet. There is no denying her power and sex appeal now. You should also check out Dorothy Snarker's recaps of the show because she is a far better writer than I.

Stella gives us a grammar lesson

The thing that makes Stella so attractive is her attitude (do you see that shoulder holster?!). She is neck deep in a man's world with no shortage of blatant misogyny. But, she give absolutely no fucks what her co-workers, subordinates, or superiors think of her. She knows she excels at her job, is attractive, and can use her brain, her body, or both to get what she wants. She may be a control freak, but I am okay with that. She is in command through the entirety of the aforementioned one night stand. Stella makes heterosex hot, and the show turns the tables on conventional depictions of intercourse by keeping her clothes on and making him remove his. She barely lets him touch her.

I was quite smitten with the first season, and the only thing that I can think of that kept me from watching S2 as soon as it was available in January is this feeling I have now. I am left wishing I had more to watch. The possibility of its greatness no longer exists as I have simultaneously extinguished it and ignited my desire for more. For a new day, another moment in the life of Stella Gibson. I can no longer think to myself, "I wonder what happens in S2? I wonder if Stella is still amazing? Does Stella catch Paul? Is Stella sexually flexible? I wonder if Stella and Reed Smith will hook up?" and so on.

Stella/Reed Smith explored

For a narration of all the thoughts me, and you, and everyone else were thinking (mainly get on that damn elevator), leave it to Dorothy Snarker. I just have to give a shout out to Archie Panjabi. I have always loved her, and even though she left The Good Wife, her gracing us with two/three? seasons of this show is a fair trade. Here is a shipper video in case you want to see their chemistry. I mean those outfits. Archie is in the ranks with Mariska scoring solid 10s in leather jacket wearing. Stella's outfits are nothing to sneeze at. Those lovely long coats, silk blouses galore, and she is so unabashed about her body, a trait so rarely seen in female characters on television.

The only thing left to do is to relive the greatness that is Stella Gibson through clips, and wait, and wait, and wait...until S3 airs. Fingers crossed for a short post-production time.

How I Adore Robin Wright

So, newsflash: Robin Wright at the fanfuckingtabulous age of 48 has never been hotter.

Her 2013 indy/film festival movie, Adore a.k.a. Two Mothers is a winner. Another interesting French one. They really know how to show off older women and give them full and inspiring roles. For another example, see my ode to KST/Mrs. Tilda Swinton below. Here is the trailer.

Further, she just won a Golden Globe for her role on the Netflix Original streaming series, House of Cards.

Finally, I would just like to say they her hair in both is amazing. I am in love with it. I prefer the Adore cut, with the little flip outs, very beach appropriate. I think I have an obsession with hair, see my ode to Mariska Hargitay's Olivia Benson below.

These are two stunning women who I discovered in American films only to later discover they have a large body of work abroad. Thank you netflix!

Tilda Swinton has an amazing androgynous quality that I find constantly intriguing. Her film I Am Love was a compelling story that was driven by an amazing score and some of the most gorgeous cinematography to date.

Kristin Scott Thomas stole my heart in the film Life As A House but below is the trailer for I've Loved You So Long. This film is AMAZING, and despite the subject matter, her understated beauty constantly shines through. I also recently discovered she has been living in France since age 19, which explains why he French is so amazing! It also has a lovely British accent to it, so its really unique. I also recently watched another French film of hers, Leaving, would recommend it too.

Damn Right She's Wanted

So last night I was very obviously reminded of why I was seriously obsessed with Angie (Angelina Jolie) for nearly 4 years. Don't get me wrong, I am still at the level of superfan, and I hope to break my viewing record with her newest movie (my record is 8 showings in the theater for Mr. & Mrs. Smith), but I do not spend all my money on memorabilia off Ebay. I went to see the midnight showing of her new film Wanted last night, something I still carry over from my obsessed days is making sure I'm at the first showing of all her movies. In any event, as I got older there seemed to be more important (read obligatory) things to spend money on like food and electricity. Since I'm no longer furiously growing my collection of stuff and defending her to all the nay sayers I'm not constantly reminded of the one thing that really sucked me in all those years ago: Angie is absolutely stunning.

I know everyone has their own preferences but I think she is probably the most stunning woman on this earth. That being said I also think she is an amazingly intelligent woman, kind, loving, and has really been making an impact on this world. If you haven't read her book, Notes From My Travels, about her first few years with UNHCR you should check it out, she just might surprise you.

One of my friends commented on my facebook page a few days ago because she knew the movie was coming out soon. She had this to say:

"Yo yo yo. I was thinking of you this week coz tonight on film four there's an Angelina Jolie special. Three films to show that she's "a leading lady on the edge" worthy of her title. It's to support her new film Wanted. I'm sure you saw it the day it came out. I hate to think of the noises you made. Ha ha. Love u so much."

If you couldn't tell she's a Brit, and damn her, she was right. No doubt she was being cheeky, but I couldn't help but make a noise or comment practically every time she came on screen. Her bone structure is out of this world and I can't help thinking, "no one looks that good." Plus, all the tattoos she has, and those eyes…put a gun in her hand and I'm pretty much a puddle on the floor. She is showing signs of aging just ever so slightly on her face, and damn it's hot. She is going to be a beauty when she gets to be Meryl's age.

Brad is one lucky guy, but I'm glad she found someone that seems to suit her.

I've come to brag about some more hot women. What a surprise.

Lets start with a show that I loved when I was in high school that was canceled too soon, like most shows I love. Once and Again. It aired on ABC (that should have been my first clue it would be canceled) begining in 1999 and had 3 great seasons. At the end of the third Mischa Barton of The OC fame was playing the lesbian love interest to the youngest daughter... sorry, sidetracked by the lesbians. The real reason I loved Once and Again was because Sela Ward was one of the main characters. Frankly, I forgot how much I loved her until she reappered on one of my other favorite shows, House M.D. as the delectable Stacy Warner. Damn she is hot, struttin' around in those power suits like all good lawyers should.

Well, thinking about House just brings me to another one of my new loves, Lisa Edelstein as Dr. Cuddy. She is amazing if not for the fact that they devote the entire 3rd season to making jokes about how big her ass is than for the fact that she played a transsexual on Ally McBeal back in 2000. She plays a bossy Dr. Cuddy with a "I'm not afraid to use my feminine whiles to get my way" undertone who is literally the Boss! Yes. I do love her.

Thinking about Ally McBeal makes me think about Calista Flockhart who has reappeared on ABC's Brothers and Sisters. Which makes me think of the absolutely stunning Rachel Griffiths who I will always remember as Brenda on Six Feet Under. Which makes me think of... just kidding. Anyhow, yea I love Rachel, plus she recently presented at the GLAAD Awards, which well unfortunately favors gay men. Anyway, Rachel can go crazy on me anytime, but I guess that was so Brenda, and frankly I would rather be the one she cheats on her husband with when she embodies Sarah.

I could go on forever, but I will leave that for another day.

Well we have clearly established the hotness factor that the older ladies hold. Lets bring in a new dimension, older women in positions of power!

More specifically you may ask, my newest crush is a certain Professor of mine, and damn if she doesn't have beauty and brains, a Harvard grad no doubt. She is also a MILF like Angie, which is good in thoery and so I guess this one is going to stay in the wonderland I call my imagination.

Ok so not only are older women hot as fuck, hot couples are the ultimate! I'm sure by now you all knew that Ellen and Portia are together, but what I didn't know is that Ellen is 47, and portia is 32! So Ellen is a G Mac, mad props to my girl.

Now thats out of the way, how hot are all the chicks on The L Word, well the brunettes anyway. Shane/Katherine Moennig is by far the best, then Marina/Karina Lumbard, and of course Bette/ Jennifer Beals, god damn that woman can dress!
