Pictures of the house sparrow, brings me sweet and warm memories of my childhood days. Days when there were no rules and no goals. Small birds making, chirp chirp sound, sun in the background. A calm feeling . It was music to my ears . Silence broken by their sounds. Quick movements. Innocent looks. Time was moving in slow motion. It was a beauty to watch the birds go in and out of the house , sitting on the windows, on the floor. They build nest on the roof top, constant chattering. They know our mood, when we are sad, they come down and sit near us, and do something.

What they mean is
GU - Gross Usage
The total megabytes you have used for the month
FU - Free Usage

NU - Net Usage
This is Gross Usage - Free Usage

Climate Change

For the part 2,3 weeks the weather in chennai is really hot. Its something which is new in chennai. I will attribute it to the issue of enviormental pollution. Chennai city traffic is day by day increasing. Trees are getting cut down and lot of buildings are coming up. These things are slowly and steadily changing the climate. Please people of chennai try to grow one tree per house. If there is already a tree in your house, do not cut it to get additional space.

Beat the Great Indian Summer - the Natural way

With the start of summer in India, people will be planning to install airconditioners if they have not already done so. People have so little time to spend that they rarely do reasearch and spend time to find out if they can avoid using airconditioners. So I am writting this article with details I collected from various sites related to natural way's of keeping your home cool.

Bringing to your view disadvantages of airconditioners
1) Initial investment high.
2) Consumes lots of electricity.
3) Possible cause of release of gases which is depleting our ozone layer.
4) Creates noise pollution for neighbours.
5) Restricts our precious view to outside world, since we have to close all doors and windows.
6) Once we get accoustomed to the conditioned air our body will not be able to tolerated out of the room environment. Reduced immunity.

Natural cooling methods
1) Checkout your house exterior paint color. Dull / dark paints absorb more heat. If so repaint your home with bright, reflective colors.
2) Another main culprit for heating of the house is roof. You can paint your roof with bright reflective paints (white latex) . Also you can put up thached roof from coconut leaves (what they call as pandal in tamil) over your roof.

Alternate to airconditioner
Airconditioner has two jobs, one is to remove stale air from your room and populate your room with cool clean air. We can accomplish removing of stale air from your room through a exhaust fan. And instead of cooling the whole room, you can go for a table fan which blows air in particular direction, which when directed over your body will cool you. So instead of going for costly and not so eco friendly airconditioner why don't you try out this cheap alternative.

Create your own headphone cord extender

Buy the following from your near by electronics spares shop
1) one stereo pin
2) one stereo jack
3) 3 sets of 5 meter thin wire

Tools you will need to put together things
1) Soldering iron.
2) Soldering lead.

Approximate time that will be taken for this work - 1 hour

Ok lets start, open the plastic cap of the pin. Insert the wire set into hole of the plastic cap, so that the cap can be put back on the pin after the wire has been soldered. Now solder one end of the green wire, red and black wire on to the wire holes of the pin. Do similar thing for the other end also but take care that the color wires are fixed to exactly the similarly positioned holes of the first pin. The extender is ready, now you can use this to relax in your sofa with headphone and listen to television or music in privacy.

Steps to created personally crafted Toy Cargo Lorry

Most of you surely would be having thermocole from packaging material of tv, music system etc.

Cut and shape and stick the thermocole material, so that you have two blocks.
Block 1 - The front driver portion dimensions - 10cm x 10cm x 10cm
Block 2 - The rear cargo portion dimensions - 10cm x 10cm x 20cm

Buy blue, yellow and black glossy color paper easily available from the stationary store.

Cut and cover block 1 with yellow paper, similarly cover the cargo portion with blue paper.

Next cut 6 semicircular blocks of thermocole to create the wheels for the cargo lorry. Cover the wheels with the black glossy paper. Now stick 4 of them to the cargo portion - 2 front and 2 rear. Stick the remaining 2 to the front driver block portion.

Now the vehicle is almost finished. We need to attach the front block and the cargo block. Get pair of plastic sticks ( you can use frooti straws for this) and pierce through both the blocks at the bottom.

There you go, the vehicle is complete. You can prowdly present your home creation to your child or neice or nephew.
