Noah VB Update

Greetings to all our Noah Volley Ball families:

We wanted to give you an update on our schedule for Noah VB conditioning which is scheduled to start in one week.

Here is a note from Coach Eddie:

We will have general skills training on Monday nights beginning May 14^th from 5:30-7:30pm. We will also have conditioning workouts on Tuesdays beginning May 15^th from 5:30-6:30 or so. We may go a bit longer some days.

All of the summer workouts are voluntary and free for the girls to attend and see if volleyball is the sport for them. We will then have tryouts the first week of July and begin regular practices Mon, Tues, Thurs the next week.

Our NOAH home gym is the church gym at Christian Chapel, 7807 E 76^th St, Tulsa. (use the NE entrance).

Please remember to bring your filled out and signed medical release form to the first practice. I have added the attachment again just in case you didn't receive it.

NOAH Advances To Quarter Finals; Falls to #1, Parker-Tarrant

NOAH Advances To Quarter Finals; Falls to #1, Parker-Tarrant

The varsity Jaguar volleyball squad made a deep run, into the championship bracket of the National Christian Homeschool Championship Volleyball Tournament, this week. Pool play started the event on Thursday. NOAH's 3-1-1 results in 5 matches was enough to earn one of 8 spots in the 6A Championship bracket.

The first hurdle of the Gold Ball Bracket was to defeat the #1 Homeschool Volleyball team in the nation, from Weatherford, TX.

NOAH continues competition in the 5A consolation brackets on Saturday. playing Kansas City Metro Mavericks at 9:30am, Saturday. Baptist Bible College is the host venue. The other 5A match features Noblesville, IN vs Huntington, IN. Winners and losers will play final matches at noon.

The Tournament organizers commissioned the following recap:

PT Warriors-Fort Worth, TX vs Tulsa NOAH Jaguars, OK;

Set 1: The Warriors jumped out to a 7-4 lead; NOAH used a run to close the gap at 11-9. PT Warriors closed the first game with an impressive run of their own 25-11.

Set 2: Noah and PT are off to a great start 8-7 Warriors; 9-10 Warriors; The Warriors are on a nice run 13-9; NOAH goes on a run cuts the lead to 16-13. PT Warriors show their strength and take a commanding 20-14 lead. The Jaguars fight back cutting into the lead again 22-18 PT leads. The PT Warriors advance to the National Semi-Finals with a 25-18 victory.

Here is a quick review of the Pool Play Results:

The #1 PT Warriors & #2 Illinois Crusaders both went through their pools without a loss.

The #3 Cornerstone Warriors won all but one set in their pool, they split their match with the #5 Texas Tornados (the Tornados also split with OKC Stormin Mustangs).

The #4 KC Metro Mavs split with both the Impact Volleyball & the #6 Little Rock Flames (the Flames also split with the Impact.)

The #7 Huntington Eagles lost both their sets with the PT Warriors and split with CPRS Golden Eagles

The #8 Tulsa NOAH Jaguars lost both their sets to the Illinois Crusaders and the Jags split with the CHSA Wolverines.

Good Morning, Everyone!

    Well, I know some of you have already left, but we will all soon be arriving in Springfield! Yea!! I know we will all have a great time while we're there! The one thing I needed to check in with you all about, though, is your availability to help with books, libero and scoreboard. Please let me know if you are willing to help with any of these three areas while we're in Springfield! It will be a little confusing sometimes, with games possibly being played at the same time, so we need to have some kind of an idea who will be jumping in to cover these areas when game time comes around.
    If you'd like to look at the u-tube sight again to refresh or learn, here it is: GCVOA-referee.org. Please volunteer for these positions, because we sure don't need just two people covering every game!
    Here's who I have right now that I believe is willing to help. Please let me know if this is wrong (if I have you down and you can't do it) or if you would be willing to be added to the list.

Good Morning Everyone!

Well, tonight is the last game at our home gym for the season! Can you believe it? It has been such a fun season, too! And thank you all for being such a willing bunch of families to work so our home games can be so enjoyable! You all are great!!
Tonight we are playing Mingo, but it is their actual "home" game, so our workload is light. Below is what we're covering and who we have working. We still need someone to work the JV Concessions at 6:00, so if a JH or varsity parent or player would step in to help, we would appreciate it a lot!!

Good Morning!

    Well, last night was lots of fun at Senior Night!! The food , the senior presentations and the volleyball were great!! Congratulations to our seniors, Millie and Shanna! You all have been such great role models and we all appreciate you both very much for your leadership!
     As for tomorrow morning, It looks like all we need is 12:00 JV Concessions!   So, if one of you JH parents wouldn't mind, please let me know if you would fill this 12:00 concessions spot! And I'm thinking that we are all going to be pitching in for clean-up and setting up tables and chairs, so I'm not going to worry about assigning an additional clean-up person. I've gone ahead and attached the schedule for tomorrow, but also have it below.
     See you all at the football game tonight! And don't forget to wear your volleyball jerseys, shirts or hoodies! I think it's going to be a little colder tonight, so come prepared!

Volleyball Volunteers - Oct 1st and Oct 6th

Hi for the last time today!

    Well, we do need to plan on libero at the JV game on Saturday, so some one jump in to cover that! We still need 11:00 JH Scoreboard, 11:00 JH and 12:00 JV Concessions, one more food slot and one more clean-up slot for Saturday. We also still need one more line judge for the 11:00 JH game.
    I also need to inform you that Coach Eddie has requested your help in setting up tables and chairs in the gym after the games for a church event Sunday morning. It shouldn’t take too much time if everyone pitches in.
    For Thursday, October 6th, we still need one person to help for JV concessions.

NOAH Makes State Rankings

MaxPreps just released an updated rankings for Oklahoma Volleyball. When grouped with 4A teams, NOAH is ranked 9th, with a power rating of 15. Overall NOAH is in the 71st percentile of all prep volleyball teams in the nation.

Oklahoma's other active homeschool team, the OKC Storm combined with the Norman Mustangs, are undefeated and ranked 4th. This Saturday NOAH has a 3-way with Regent Prep (current OCSAA champions) & "Storman".

The winner of the NOAH vs Storm match will be seeded very high in next month's Homeschool National Tournament, in Springfield. This will be a great opportunity for bringing many fans out to the match. The Jenks Intermediate Gym will be the venue for the Saturday Varsity match up. (91st & Harvard)

Week of Sept 25th

Hello NOAH families,

I just had the pleasure of sitting down and looking at all the picture memory mates!! cant wait to pass them out at practice on monday!!! You all are going to love them. Dont forget to go to the gallery on and view all the other pictures. Lana is going to open it on Monday and then you have 90 days to make an order before she removes it from the website.

Hoodies will be available this week as well, but probably not on monday. I will bring them to practice on Tuesday or Senior Night Thursday so you can buy one before the football game on Friday.

Senior Night is coming up!!! its a super fun night of fellowship, food and fun. Our seniors, Shanna Murphy, Millie Hicks and Amanda Schatzmann will be honored and have an opportunity to put a display together. The seniors will put together they "dream team" and scrimmage against the rest of the teams.

Here is your week:

MONDAY: Regular Practice

TUESDAY: Regular Practice with a twist! ORU is having a volleyball match at 7pm. the VARSITY TEAM will be going to that for their last hour of practice. If your daughter cannot, then pick her up at 6:45pm otherwise plan on picking them up at the AC at ORU around 8:30pm. Coach Eddie said "we should make it a NOAH invasion if possible"

THURSDAY: SENIOR NIGHT!!! 6:30pm Pot luck dinner, Fellowship and volleyball ... its a win win!!!!

Junior High - Entree' (something with meat)

Junior Varsity - side dish (salad, veggie or starch)

Varsity - dessert

I will take care of having water and lemonade to drink.

FRIDAY: We are being honored at the NOAH football game during half time. Game starts at 7:30 at South Intermediate on 101st just east of Elm in Broken Arrow.

Coach Eddie encourages as many to be there as possible. We will walk on the field while they read off our stats for the season and then we will throw prizes into the stands. Side note for you football fans. Barry Sanders' son plays for Heritage Hall and that's who NOAH is playing this night!!

SATURDAY: Home game against Storman for Junior High and Junior Varsity.

Away game for Varsity in a tri-match with "storman" and Regent.

10am Junior High

11am Junior High

12pm Junior Varsity ( Rochelle has already sent an email regarding volunteers so i am omitting that from this email)

there are actually 3 games oct 1st. Junior High will be playing at 10 and 11pm JV will play at noon. After many, many emails back and forth that was the final outcome.

Well, we have a very short evening tonight, with only one JH game being played. But, it will be lots of fun, for sure! Thanks to those of you who have volunteered to help!
I also wanted to ask again if you would let me know if you are going to be able to be one of the "go-to" book and scoreboard people for the teams at Nationals. These are the ones that I think we have so far. If this is not right, please let me know. And if you can add your name to the list, please let me know that as well! We need at least two for each team but four would be better - two for books and two for scoreboard.

NOAH Jaguars played Metro Christian School in 3 great matches on 9/20/11! The evening nearly resulted in a total sweep, but were just 2 points shy in the tie breaker set of the JV match. Congratulations to NOAH VB players! You played very well and make us proud. Thanks to all the fans who helped cheer us on!

    Well, there are some changes to let you know about for tonight and Thursday night. Mike Leatherland has offered to do books for varsity, but in doing so he needs to not do gate! So, could someone offer to fill in for gate during varsity tonight? We still need scoreboard for JV and libero for varsity. Also, Mandie has switched to JH line judging tonight because she's playing during varsity, so we now need one more line judge for JH and one more for varsity.
    On Thursday, just take note that the Reddens now have books and the Hicks are in the concessions.

Well, I knew it would be hard for Sue to be two places at once (although I bet she could do it!), so we are also in need of a scoreboard keeper during the JV game tomorrow night. So, let me know if you want to do it!!
Another thought as I'm looking - Mandie, do I need to find another line judge for the varsity game since you're playing with them now? I bet the answer is "yes"!

Springfield Nationals for Volleyball

I have been asked to keep track of the families that have registered at the Clarion
for our national competition in October. Remember the deadline for reserving a room(s)
is October 1st. Please email me back and let me know if you reserved and for what days

    What a great week of volleyball!! The girls did great last night and we are looking forward to another great night tonight! important changes this week!!!!!

Hello families,

we have a few important changes to make for the week.

Tomorrows game against Wright Christian will be the following times:

5pm Junior High

6pm Junior High again (Wright has two junior high teams)

7pm Junior Varsity

8pm Varsity

i apologize for this it was a miscommunication on my part with their coach.

Saturday, Sept 17th game against OKCity Storm/Norman has BEEN CANCELED!!!!!!!!!!!

We have rescheduled the Junior High and Junior Varsity games to be played Oct 1st at 12:00 for junior high and 1pm for junior varsity at our location.

you may notice that varsity already is scheduled for a tri match with Regent and "storman" that day so that will go on as scheduled.

if you were scheduled for volunteering this saturday we may just move you to saturday Oct 1st. Please see me or rochelle to make those changes on our volunteer sheets.
