2014 General Election Voter Information

Absentee Voting is now available at the Noble County Courthouse thru November 3, 2014 at noon. Satellite Voting starts Monday, October 27, 2014. Check the Election webpage for details.

General Election is Tuesday, November 4, 2014, 6am – 6pm. Noble County is now a Vote Center county with 8 locations available to all registered Noble County Voters.

2014 Imagery Now Available on Beacon

Our new 2014 ortho imagery is now available on Beacon. This imagery was flown back in April 2014. The 2014 imagery replaces the previous 2012 imagery.

On Beacon, you have two sets of imagery to view. The 2014 imagery and the historic 2003 imagery. The new imagery, captured using an all digital process, has better color and clarity because of its 4 inch pixel resolution. The 2003 imagery, captured using film and then converted into a digital product, was captured at 6 inch pixel resolution. This was the first color imagery purchased by Noble County.

County Zoning and Street Centerline Layer Changes made on Beacon

February 7, 2014 - The Noble County Jurisdictional Zoning area has been updated to reflect the zoning changes made under the County's Unified Zoning Ordinance. This layer reflects zoning changes applied from September 23, 2013. Zoning lying within road rights-of-way has been changed to "Open Space - OS."

February 10, 2014 - The Street Centerlines layer has new symbology showing the entity in authority of the roadway. View the updated Street Centerline symbology under the Legend. A new "Hwy Shields" layer has been added providing control of the visibility of US and State road shield labels.

On Wednesday, February, 22, 2012, links were placed onto the Noble County Government home page to the Noble County Parks and Recreation Board's web site. Visit this site to learn more about their initiative for providing county residents and others with information on Noble County's recreational opportunities.

Visit their site by using one of two methods while at the Noble County Government home page: 1) go to the "Boards" option along the top of the website, click on "Parks and Recreation," or 2) click the link entitled "Learn more about our community," under "COMMUNITY," then click the link "Noble County Parks and Recreation" under "COMMUNITY LINKS."

Beacon Enhancements: July 1, 2011

As of July 1st, 2011, the Schneider Corporation has made a few enhancements to Beacon.

The beloved Map Tip is now back. The Map Tip pop-up window works in coordination with the Identify tool. First make sure the Identify button is selected. Second, click the checkbox labeled "Map tip hover mode" on the Map bar. This checkbox is only visible when the Identify button is selected. Now, one is able to display property ownership while hovering over a tract of ground. Use the Map Tip pop-up functionality to display information about other features found on other map layers by clicking on a layer name.
The Clear Map button on the button toolbar has been changed to Clear Selection.
A user can select on a categorized tool, choose a tool and then click back on the main categorized tool to collapse the toolbar or they can leave the categorized tool expanded for easy access. The user chooses how they want to use the tools.
There's a new Download Map Image button located on the far right side of the Button Toolbar.

Noble County GIS Dept. Announces The Schneider' Corporation's Beacon Upgrade

In order to provide Noble County citizens with the most up-to-date web mapping experience, Noble County will be upgrading the Beacon GIS website between April 25^th and April 29^th. The new map engine, implemented by the Schneider Corporation, will enhance the user experience when working with the map, improving existing and expanding functionality that the users are accustom to using. Users will see improved navigation, new tools, and expanded map; therefore, harnessing the best parts of back-end technologies and data services, delivering a seamless experience to all.

Drug Enforcement Layer Updated

One of Beacon's layers has been renamed and updated. The Beacon layer called "Albion Drug Enforcement Boundary" is now known as "Drug Enforcement Boundaries" and its scope expanded to include the entire county. This layer shows 1000 foot boundaries surrounding desginated facilities and locations where children may be present.

2010 Christmas Events Available on Beacon

On December 7, 2010, a new GIS layer entitled "2010 Christmas Events" was added to Beacon. This layer features thirteen Christmas related events occurring in various areas of the county. This is a temporary layer which will be removed after the Christmas holiday season.
