Before & After - NHD Kitchen Renovation

Our Kitchen Renovation has been done for over a year! But I wanted to find a few more finshing touches before i considered it done. Here is the Before...(side note - the kitchen was from the 90s/80s with bad wood finish, tile countertops, see thru cabinets and brick floors.) Nothing that paint and a handyman from Craigslist cant transform...

We kept the bones of the kitchen and updated the rest. The cabinets are the same, we just painted everything a bright white and added new cabinet doors and handles. The floor is the same, just painted dark grey floor paint which help keep the lines of the brick floor without the bad color. I love subway tile backsplash and my husband found a great dark grey color at Daltile.

We added a new island since the kitchen was just a box rectangle before. We had the island custom made for a side wine rack and spice drawers. Knock off Bertoia stools were only $100 a pair from Home Decorators.

We added new appliances and my love of the kitchen, the stainless steel farmhouse sink. I really wanted a white sink but have heard it is a nightmare to keep clean.

My favorite feature of the kitchen is the Italian Carrara Marble for the countertops and island. Its hard to maintain but looks so pretty!

Custom feeding stations for Charlie & Zoe.

I had my furniture guy, Dwayne make custom feeding boxes for me. Then i spray painted them grey to match the floor. I ordered monogrammed laminate placemats from Mattie Luxe and topped off with Oscar de la Renta bowls from Target. On clearance of course!

One of my favorite artists, Bernard Buffet. This is one of my favorite pieces in the house. His work is so haunting and sad.

Vintage Hollywood Regency Pottery at its best. My cookie jar lion found on Ebay.

I love anything by Le Creuset. But white ceramic canisters, LOVE! Perfection!

I still have a few finishing touches but really happy with the overall tranformation. This proves that white and grey paint can cure almost anything!

Amazing finds at Wisteria...

Its been a long January and February! But I am back and in decorating action. I have been finding a few things for the guest bedroom and came across these amazing Moroccan tables from Wisteria! whoo! I have always wanted a side Moroccan table and these are the perfect size and colors. They also have amazing mini tables, bamboo chair and well priced modern mirrors. I am impressed, Wisteria! See below for some images of Moroccan side tables as inspiration.

Before and After - Dining Room!

When we moved into our house, the previous owners picked out this depressing red brick color for the dining room. The room soaks up a ton of light and should be a fun inviting color. It just felt stuffy and 1980s looking.

Amazing what new paint color and a new chandelier will do! I found the Urns and Golden Bonsai tree from Zgallerie and the rest is a mix of estate sales and ebay.

Cant wait to find a new table + chairs & artwork to finish the look.

Last year, I found these club chairs at my favorite thrift store in Houston. I kept them in my garage, waiting to be recovered and find the right fabric and trim. Finally, they are done!
I love this coral fabric and even my husband loved it. Bonus!

I know, I am late to the best dressed party for the Emmys 2012. I just love everything about these dresses - color, cut and the stunning women who are wearing these gorgeous frocks. Allison Williams In Oscar de la Renta, Julianne Moore in a Dior Couture dress, Julianna Margulies in Giambattista Valli. But my favorite of the night is Julianna Margulies, in the stunning floral brocade.

I am back!! I took a long needed break, went on vacation, created some new jewels and went shopping for my closet & home. Start the music...Zou Bisou Bisou.

Here is my LOVE list. Seriously, Loves!

1. I am a big fan of Rifle Paper co but the Cities Calendar is just stunning. Every month is a piece of artwork and a new destination.
2. Bunnies by Hunt Slonem. Oh Hunt, you take my breath away. who knew basic bunnies could be so stunning. Check out his NYC loft studio here. I am using these in my living room.
3. I might not be in school but I love a good planner. I am so late to the party on this preppy and colorful organizer.
4. I went to Australia. It was a great trip but the highlight was our adventure at a wildlife park in Ballarat, Australia. I got to feed free roaming kangaroos, pet a Koloa named "Minky" and meet the cutest wombat named "Patrick". Traveling 20 hours to meet them was worth it!
5. Have you all tried this new DALLAS lipgloss by Benefit? Its fantastic & only $16!
6. How cute is this fabric? I am going to use it on my club chairs in the living room. Worst part, its expensive and I really dont want to spend $100 a yard. So I am on the hunt for a knockoff fabric.

Here are a few of my favorite things for this HOT summer.... I am obsessed with the Vintage V-Neck shirts from Old Navy. The best cut, soft fabric and such a great price...only $8.50! I bought 6 this past weekend.

I love pashminas and scarfs but my all time favorite brand is Matta. The colors and tassels are amazing and they never go out of style. They are expensive but I use it almost every day in the summer and winter. Love the Clutch - tribal and preppy in one!

I am loving the floral/hawaiian prints - and we must give praise to the start of this trend... Givency Resort 2012! Anyways, I always get questions on how to wear Noble House Designs Necklaces. Here is a great way to blend trends but still keep it classic. I like the color and print in any outfit to have proportion and balance. The colors all work well together and of course - Gold, Tweed and Tassels are considered a neutral :)

I am ecstatic to finally share my finished X-Benches! For a few months, I was looking at buying a pair here or here but yikes, over $700 for 1 bench and I wasn't in love with the fabric or colors. I found a furniture designer on Craigslist and had the benches made for just a fraction of the cost. Fabric from Dwell Studios.
