This floor plan does not do justice to the pictures of the inside of this house. Notice that the “Master” has, someone has separated the shower from the sink from the toilet. And there’s no closet.

And all this for the bargain price of $479,900.

This about a widely reported story that turned out to be a hoax:

The original story was traced back to Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper. The writer Simon Tomlinson, says he does not know where the story originated, despite its bearing his byline. “I’ve drawn a bit of a blank,” he told MSNBC.

Just when I thought I was out…they pull me back in.

Yesterday, literally yesterday, it occurred to me that it had been a few months since my last unsolicited, BS email from Senator Rob Portman (R-OH). Finally, I thought, they had invested the time and energy to make sure that the little “unsubscribe” link actually worked. Victory. Victory I say… is short lived. Guess which putz senator from Ohio spammed me today. Go ahead. Guess.

If you guessed Senator Rob “Eff you I spam whoever I effing want” Portman, you win a lifetime supply of pork-product emails. This is absurd.

Last Saturday, the fiancee and I viewed a house as a potential rental. It was an OK house in a good location. Toward the end of the showing, I stood there with completed application and checkbook in hand. The listing agent advised that we should take our time. “Applications can’t be processed until Monday,” she said. “Think it over,” she said… Well, chalk it up as another case of “I should have known better.”

After spending more time on the application to include a freaking cover letter (based on further advice from the listing agent) we turned in our application first thing Monday morning. Then we waited. This afternoon we were told that we had been denied. Someone else with equally good qualifications turned their application in on Saturday. The owners thought the only fair way to make a choice was to choose the application that arrived first.

We were ahead of the game. We listened to the expert. Then we got screwed.

So there you ago. An example of another upstanding, licensed professional from a group I shall not name.
