Walk down La Rambla: The most famous street of Barcelona, there is something always happening around La Rambla. Check out the street performers,  browse the artisan shops, take in the smells and sights of La Boqueria market and join a procession in the street. Walk down from Placa Catalunya , take the sights in, and get to the beach.

Get some sun: About twenty minutes from La Rambla is the Barceloneta beach. Enjoy a cool sangria in one of the many restaurants and huts lining the beach, and relax for a bit.

Shop a bit: Walk around Barri Gotic. The medieval center of Barcelona is full of small roads that are lined by food and wine shops, local jewelers, artist studios and historic museums.  Try out the local food, buy some jewelry for yourself or a loved one, pick up some art, buy some great wine and cheese in the boutique, family run shops there, and peek into an old museum or church.

Smell nice: Visit Mercat de la Concepcio, one of Barcelona‘s largest flower rmarkets. The fragrance of the flowers and the colors will be an instant pick me up for any tired traveler.

Watch a match: If you are football fan, you have to watch a FC Barca game on their home stadium. If you are not a foodball fan, you still have to watch the game –  your football cred among fans of the game will significantly go up!

The app shows the nearest public transport departures to your destination, so you can choose the one that is the most convenient for you – the app will guide you there. All these features with time-based information are available in Atlanta, Auckland, Bay Area, Berlin & Brandenburg, Boston, Chicago, Copenhagen, Dallas, Denver, Flanders, Honolulu, Las Vegas, London, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, San Diego, Toronto, and Turin; with estimated routing in another 440 cities across the world.

And with this latest release, you’ll get multiple routes to choose from, and public transit stops displayed right on the map, with Nokia Maps integration. With this latest update to Nokia Weather, I can quickly swipe through the forecast in 100 different cities and check for snow conditions in either portrait or landscape view. Plus, the new Nokia Weather offers UI localization support for over 50 left-to-right languages.

Better still, when I use Nokia Weather in landscape view when driving ( see above), I can check the conditions en route. So if we are feeling adventurous, me and my friends can just pack warm and head for the Müritz lake region, keeping an eye on the next few hours of weather for our current location as well as my saved cities. And I can just as easily track the weather on longer trips too—in many parts of the world. Maybe I should leave the winter behind and go home to say Hi to my friends and family. What is the weather in Mumbai right now? I’d best go grab some sunscreen and check Nokia Weather!

1. Paris : Was there any doubt? Paris is said to the most romantic city in the world – it has the trifecta of great food, glamorous fashion and great wine; making it a romantic destination for millions. Most recently, Paris was the backdrop of the Woody Allen film Midnight In Paris. Like they say in the film, For all we know, Paris is the hottest spot in the universe.

2. Venice: What can be more romantic than sitting in a gondola with a loved one? There are beautiful bridges to cross, Veneto cuisine to enjoy, and spend the evening at an old palace. The city of Casanova and the backdrop of the tragic love story of Othello and Desdemona; Venice has seen all facets of love. There is even a video game – The Merchant Prince – about this city! Truman Capote once said that Venice is like eating an entire box of chocolate liqueurs in one go. Yum!

3. London : London is where old and new collide. You can take your loved one for high tea to experience how the royalty spent their days, then spend the evening dancing, and top it off with a bit of shopping. The city that witnessed a royal romance that spanned ten years and subsequent royal wedding in 2011 is indeed the perfect place for many a romantic getaway. But remember, according to Lord Curzon, Gentlemen never wear brown in London. 

4. New York City : Desmond Morris called New York the human zoo. Well known for its diversity, New York city is where all the modern roads lead to. For the urbanite, this is the perfect romantic getaway. Spent the day in MoMA, catch a show on Broadway, and end the evening by listening to some Jazz.

5. Rio de Janeiro: The best place for those with rhythm in blood; Rio is where you go to dance and sunbath your worries away. Take your loved one to the beach to relax and people watch during the day and continue with a dance party during the night. Don’t forget to enjoy the local cuisine; and if it all gets a bit too much, trekk up the Pão de Açúcar and enjoy the sights.

Now when I want to go somewhere, I just input my destination in Nokia Drive and plan my route before I start my engine. Back by popular demand, the updated Route Planner lets me see a preview of my whole route in advance. I can even customize the itinerary by moving my starting point or adding new route points along the way. The new Nokia Drive keeps up with my busy lifestyle, letting me plan multiple trips and save my favorites for future reference. Plus, with a bigger map, Nokia Drive is not only easier to customize, it’s easier to see. And that is pretty important to me.

For now, English speakers in the UK also get premier access to Voice Search for hands-free flexibility in Nokia Drive in Nokia Belle smartphones. Those lucky blokes just tap the microphone icon and speak where they want to go. “St. Pancras Station,” they might say. And Bob’s your uncle—Nokia Drive will do its thing, no hands needed. Jealous? I know I am, stuck here in Berlin. (It’s hard to find good shepherd’s pie here too, I’m afraid.) But I’m only a wee bit jealous, as I know it’ll be coming soon for other languages and regions too.

These are the new features that we have introduced.
