Since the rise in popularity of Android handsets, and the arrival of the mighty iPhone, Nokia have seen their stock plummet. Compared to iOS and Android, Nokia’s Symbian operating system is seen as being extremely sluggish and out of date. In one of the biggest stories in smartphones from the last year, Nokia announced that they would be adopting the Windows Phone 7 operating system in all their upcoming mobile phones, presumably as a way to revive their flagging reputation.

The first Nokia phones to feature Windows Phone 7 are thought to be arriving later this year and the Finnish firm are staking £80 million in their success. According to reports in Marketing Magazine, Nokia are planning a six month, eight figure marketing campaign in an effort to put the company, and the Microsoft operating system, up there with the major players in the smartphone world.

Nokia has been struggling to keep its head above water for a number of years. Their profits and market share have been falling rapidly, and forecasts have suggested that the company many not even break even this year, potentially resulting in the loss of over 7000 jobs. The marketing campaign, set to begin in October, is thought to be Nokia’s last chance to reverse their fortunes.

The success of the Windows Phone 7 Nokia devices could be crucial to the success of both brands. Sales of Windows Phone 7 handsets has been described as ‘disappointing’ since their launch in 2010, with some estimated that they are well underneath the 700,000 mark (the iPhone 4 sold 1.7 million handsets in just 3 days). Only time will tell if the partnership between Nokia and Windows Phone 7 will be a match made in heaven, or send both brands falling into the abyss.

The Palm Pre 2 is a modern smartphone with a touchscreen, a good user interface and fast processor, which make it obviously superior to the Nokia N96.

In terms of the Nokia N96 OS, the Symbian OS 9.3, S60 rel. 3.2 isn’t bad, it does have its advantages such as having Nokia Maps.

The HP webOS 2.0 device doesn’t have as much as the Nokia device, there are no built-in games. The 1150mAh Palm Pre 2 battery can last 130 hours more on stand mode but the processor does take up extensive battery power.

Moving to the connectivity section, the Nokia N96 does have UPnP technology which the Palm device lacks but it beats the Nokia in the Bluetooth section with 2.1 while the latter having 2.0.

Both devices have internal storage of 16GB, the Palm device cannot accept a memory card but the Nokia N96 does have 16GB also and can still take a memory card.

The Nokia N96 does cost cheaper then the Palm Pre 2. In conclusion, it all depends on what you are going to use the device for.

The Nokia devices has advanced alot these days, the leaks provide much information but the official announcements are mush better. The Nokia N9 was approved by FCC this week. More and more devices are being approved and manufactured each day. Today I ask the question, what would you buy between the Nokia N96 or the first device that ever had Symbian^3 OS, the Nokia N8?

It may sound as if this question doesn’t make sense because it is classified as a super-phone by some and a useless device ever made judging on the app bugs as well as the the first batch that had issues when they left China and Finland.

There is another option where you can keep on updating the Nokia N96 software but yet again the Nokia N6 doesn’t offer HD recording, HD viewing and a 12 megapixel camera. Why not see the selection?

When the Nokia X7 is released, the new Symbian Anna will also be released, another quality update for the Nokia N8. Considering the Nokia N96 updates, there isn’t much support for it, it has been left alone in the dark jungle.

You may try to make some of the issues covered by trying to download apps that will substitute atleast half of what the Nokia N8 consists, then surely, the Nokia N8 sales will drop.

Don’t forget the popular Angry Birds games that you can download on the Nokia N8 from the Ovi Store, the Nokia 96 doesn’t offer that as it doesn’t have touchscreen capabilities at all.

The conclusion is pretty simple, the Nokia N8 is the successor here today for me, what about you?

Visit the Nokia N8 Portal for more on the successor of today.

Something medium large, something small. Both have keypads. One is a QWERTY keypad and the other one is just normal. It is kind of hard to have a comparison but we’ll see how it goes.

The N96 has an American version which is a 3G Dual-band, it is the best place where it worthy of a comparison with the network of the Xperia Pro. The Pro features a Tri-Band 3G network.

The Pro featuring a display size of 120*57*13.5 mm, the N96 is just behind with 17*2*0 mm. The device display sizes aren’t too big or too small, just the right size for any spectacle! Try them out.

Having a look at the size, the weight isn’t so bad. The Xperia Pro weighing 140g and the Nokia N96 just weighing 15g less, neither are too heavy to carry around on a daily basis. The main reason why the Xperia is 140g weighing is mainly because of….. lets find out!

LED-backlit LCD, capacitive touchscreen is a new type of touchscreen, it is mainly available on the newer handsets, namely some of them from the MWC. The Xperia Pro for one, is one of those mobile phones. The N96 was released in 2008, causing it to have an older type of screen, it isn’t touchscreen but our very own TFT!

16GB storage, able to take a microSD of up to 32GB, the phone is exactly what you need in terms of storage. 320MB is quite enough and on top of that, you do need to buy a microSD but Sony Ericsson should include a 8GB memory card.

Here comes the best part of my comparisons, as you all know, I love suspense, which means, suspense it shall be! Stay tuned till tomorrow for more of the suspense comparison!

Are you concerned about your ability to play your favorite casino games as mobile games?

If you’re thinking about purchasing a mobile device with the idea of downloading a mobile casino application but you aren’t sure if the mobile games available will make it worth your while, don’t wonder any longer. If you like to play any of the most popular casino games online, you can also play them on your mobile device. One of the most popular casino games around is blackjack. Is there a mobile blackjack game out there?

Mobile Games Available: Blackjack

You bet there is! Blackjack has been a staple for casinos for as long as anyone can remember, and no internet casino would set up an application without including blackjack. Nearly every mobile casino offers blackjack, which means you have the luxury of looking over multiple mobile casino applications and comparing various sign up bonuses before making your mobile casino selection in order to play the king of mobile games: blackjack.

Mobile Gaming: Playing Mobile Blackjack

Playing online blackjack is as simple as downloading the mobile casino application and selecting the blackjack option. When you select blackjack, your screen will become a virtual blackjack felt, just like the one you play on in a live casino. You can then use the directional keys or in some cases the numerical pad to select your bet size. Click the appropriate button to deal the cards and you’re underway. When it’s your turn to act, you’ll get a variety of options to select from at the bottom of your screen, be they hit, stand, double or split. In many mobile blackjack games, the “correct” or most likely option will be highlighted for you, so choosing your action is as easy as can be. When you’re done, the rest of the cards in the hand come out and if you win, extra money is added to your account. It’s that easy.

Mobile Gaming: Mobile Blackjack Tips

Just as with real blackjack, there is a correct way to play that can minimize the House edge. To maximize your enjoyment of the game, consider giving yourself a brief basic strategy lesson before continuing.

After having posted deals about the Nokia N96, they just got better. But sadly the Orange Shop isn’t worldwide available. Lucky English people!

There was a scam last year that you buy a SIM-free contract and all those who fell for it misunderstood it for receiving the N96 SIM free, but you actually receive the SIM not the phone. The best part here is that, with this store, there are no type of SIM-free deals.

The N96 featuring a BL-5F 950 mAh battery, it gives pretty long hours of talk time and 14 hours music play. The phone isn’t so bad after-all! To compensate for power-saving, the same feature that the Nokia N8 features, so does the Nokia N96 feature. Need no worry, the N96 comes with a pre-packed car charger, so wherever you are, there can’t be a question of a low battery.

If you go to O^2 to find a deal for the N96, then you will get a FREE gift but it will be much more expensive and they do not have a wide variety of plans for the N96.

O^2 does offer SIM-ONLY deals and does specify that it is only a SIM that you receive, not the device. Another feature that does make it worth it to get the N96, is the feature with the camera. It has a small mechanism that you put it out and it holds the device up to 30 degrees from the ground. Not so bad, you then don’t have to hold the device each time.

Wait are you waiting for?Go and buy it!

There are many places where you can get good but not great contract deals. Not all of the good deals offer great things. The N96 is an old Nokia device but not so old that it is forgotten.

There are many places where you can get a monthly contract deals such as the Nokia N96 or pay as you go meaning pay cash without any extra minutes or messages.

To find a deal like that with Vodacom in South Africa, is like finding a diamond in the ocean. A LCD TV isn’t the only option as a free gift but don’t forget, the consumer gets to choose what type of gift they like from their list. That’s the case from such dealers, such as Dial-a-Phone.

Nokia N96 different views

Featuring a 5 megapixel camera, fast 3G network, the powerful S60 UI and eventually 8GB of internal memory make the deals worth while having them. The contracts are unbelievably cheap and more of them are available evry day.One surprising thing, the N96 has a twin which can be confusing, unless you look at the top left of the outer housing, it is specified there what device it is.

The N85 has music keys but instead of having them separate in the form of separate keys, they are situated around the navi-wheel. The N96 is absolutely to the contrary, it features the music keys as separate keys, meaning that the N96 can be slided both ways, up and down. The downfall is, its not rare to find a slider mechanism for that but not every technician has it or knows how to fix it.

The final statement, its worth it if you not looking for something out of your league or something too technical or advanced like the Nokia N8.

Go for the contracts!

The N96 has so many features inside. But to give the word “smartphone” more meaning, then the following applications are really needed

Fring

Fring enables the N96 to make cheap mobile calls and chat with your “buddies” but it uses your data plan or a wi-fi connection. Something better is Skype but unfortunately, the N96 doesn’t have a version made for it.

iSync

iSync is a one of the important must-have application for the Mac users wanting to synchronize their N96 devices with their pc’s

Foonz

Foonz is a cool app and useful for the business people, it makes your life easy with fast group calling and messaging.

JoikuSpot

JoikuSpot is an app that turns your N96 into a wi-fi hotspot, the advantage is that it allows the user to make it a secure connection.

Mini Friday

This app has a virtual world where the user can create a 3D avatar and interact with hundreds of thousands of people around the globe.

Whats your opinion on these apps? Have any of the apps given top class performance on your N96?
