I have been slacking off from my normal duties. My blog entries for Korea trip had stopped though I still have a lot of things wanna say. my report was suck but I was too lazy to re-do. What's next?

I'm going back to UMP in few hours time to start the new semester. No more excuse to slack off. I am clear and understand about what is the consequence if I slack off during this hyper-tension period.

At 8 p.m, we're heading to NamSam Hill to see the view of Seoul at night. This trip was lead by a group of Malaysian family who are staying at the same guesthouse with us. They were nice and friendly.

Along the way to the top of the hill, we stopped at a vendor to eat fish cake. It's my first time to taste the Korean foods. The taste is not bad, really tasty and it's just cost us 500 won each.

We reached at the top of the hill after walking about 20 minutes and automatically the game was started. I can't build my snowman because I can't stand the temperature and the wind. So cold lorr~!!

When it comes to playing in the snow,we love it but often get cold feet. Literally, this doesn't have to be the case. It's never too late to have a happy childhood....(><,)

The scenery is very-very beautiful up there. We can see all of Seoul with the colourful and brightest light.

Namdaemun market

Before entering the market I looked across the street and could find the Korean style roof among contemporary buildings. The building seemed to be used as real asset but unfortunately, it's still under renovation.

Namdaemun market wasn't in our itinerary but we still go for it because most of people said this is a place where the locals will shop.Besides that, we still got a lot of time. So,why not we spent a little of time to window-shopping here.

In the market red awnings in a row caught my eye. Namdaemun market is a real treasure,I think.

There are quite a few department stores in the market that are crammed full of vendors that have no prices on their products, and the merchandise starts to look very same-same quite quickly. We've wasted a lot of time in those stores and I think that's what soured us on Namdaemun. On this visit, we just stuck to visiting the outdoor vendors, but we had a lot of fun.

Gyeongbokgung Palace

Gyeongbokgung, also known as Gyeongbokgung Palace or Gyeongbok Palace, is a royal palace located in northern Seoul. First constructed in 1394 and reconstructed in 1867, it was the main and largest palace of the Five Grand Palaces built by the Joseon Dynasty. The name of the palace, Gyeongbokgung, translates in English as "Palace of Shining Happiness."

There is a ceremony each day at the Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul, Korea. Guards stand tall in their brightly colored uniforms. Drummers sound off in a ceremonial cadence with each step toward the palace gates.

Horns blow and then the only sound you hear are their footsteps as they march in a single step atop the ancient gravel that has seen this action for centuries. Finally, the largest of the drums sounds so loud that it reverberates within your chest. The Palace guard has changed their watch and men like this one in the picture stand their post.

The opportunity to visit this palace was not one to be missed. It was a good day and a unique experience.

King Sejong Underground Museum

One of Seoul’s most interesting and informative exhibitions is conveniently located in the heart of the city. Well, to be more precise, it’s actually located underground, in a sprawling space beneath Gwanghwamun Square.

While a prominent statue of King Sejong the Great sits atop the Square, the real tribute to him can be accessed by an almost hidden door located behind the statue.

I went to the museum called ‘The story of King Sejong’. It was very well organized and I could get all the information I wanted about King Sejong.

If you want to find out more about King Sejong, you can visit this exhibition. It’s located near the Gwanghwamun square! and guess what….. it’s free!!!!

Unbelievable right? I’m sure you’ll visit this place...(><,)

On the 3rd day, we woke up early (as usual...(><,)) to have breakfast and then we went to Malaysian Embassy in South Korea at Hannam-dong. Super cold that day + strong wind.

We had a meeting with Mr. Abdullah,Deputy Chief of Mission. We got a lot of informations from him.He told us almost all about the Korea started from the history,Korean War,The President of South Korea, Korea-Malaysia relationship and etc.

I will list down the main point that we had discussed.

1) Malaysia lags Korea for 10 years. You can see the difference from the railway system.
2) South Korea is a republic country
3) If you work in Korea, you will get 2 month bonus every 3 months.
4) The starting salary for fresh graduate is RM7000 (engineering field)
5) You will have to work whole day even if it is Saturday
6) Drug addicts in Korea is less than 1%
7) There is no such thing like subsidy in Korea. No subsidy for medical expenses, no subsidy for education, no subsidy for patrol, no subsidy on anything.
8)The citizen will have to bear the expenses all by themselves.That is why most families in Korea do not have more than 2 kids.

We also had a meeting with Mr.Hanisan, who is the counselor for the exchange students, discussing about the education system for Korea and Malaysia.

Again, I would just list down the main point that we had discussed.

1) For students who want to further their Master in overseas, they will have to search sponsorship themselves.. JPA sponsor Degree only.
2) Malaysia - GDP 8000; Korea - GDP 20000
3) In Malaysia, we have 2 ministries to govern the IPTA and IPTS. In Korea, there is only 1.
4) Most universities in Korea are private. Less half-public,half-private.
5) Private sectors invest/sponsor the universities to build better facilities. New products invent/modify/improvise will belong to them.

During the meeting, hearing all these information made me feel want to do something to improve Malaysia. Malaysia is considered as the top 3 countries in South East Asia but the systems that we have are old-fashioned.

In this fast changing world, it will be either you eliminate people or you will be eliminated. Changes need to be done and the first mission to be accomplished would be true unity. Unity among people is really important to ensure the country's development. Let's hope for the concept one 1Malaysia do work.

These courtesy visit did gave me a lot inspirations.

Everland Theme Park

Finally, on Monday, I got to go to Everland amusement park, the second biggest reason I went to Korea, but definitely the best!

Everland is one of Korea's most popular amusement parks. There is also a popular amusement park in Seoul called Lotte World, it is indoor so some claim it is the better of the two, as even during winter it is not cold. I was very excited to go to the Everland. While Everland is not Disneyland, it was a very fun day full of Christmas lights and parades!

By 9 a.m, we were up and headed towards the Gangnam Bus Stop. There we caught a bus to Yongin, the town where Everland is located.

It was so easy and convienent to hop on the bus and be dropped right at the gate to the park.

Admission was only 31,000 won each. Overall it was a really cute place, the entrance had Christmas decorations and lights all over and the main street was made up to look like famous places from around the world.

In the center of main street was a huge fairy like tree all decorated with lights and christmas ornaments.

The rest of the park was loosly divided into different theme areas "Magic Land" "European Land" and "American Land" were just a few. American Land was hilarious and ironically our first stop!

We went on a spinning "rodeo" ride, we stopped by a tipee, took pictures next to "rusty" mining gear and saw the sailing ship Columbus. It was all quite fun and really-really gorgeus!!

While all the sections of the park were cutely decorated and attended by "cast members" wearing silly Christmas coats, snow hats and gloves, the rides were a little lacking. Most of them just went in circles or up and down.

We did go on one great roller coaster though!The T Express is one of the newest and main attractions at the Everland. It is one of the world’s longest wooden roller coasters, measuring in at nearly 6,000 feet. It is also the steepest wooden roller coaster in the world.

Its claim to fame, and now mine since I rode it, is that it is the steepest wooden roller coaster in the world! They aren't lying, that first drop is dramatic and takes your breath away! It was also super cold outside so by the end of the ride you are quite frozen.

The cast members working the park were also super cute, they always had to wave their hands at passers by, as in, at all times. It did make things pleasant but when I waved back and they didn't stop I always felt like I should keep waving too!

We ended the night by strolling through the Chritmas lights before catching our bus back to Gangnam. The day was chilly and long but lots of fun.

Itaewon is a unique place in Seoul where one can meet people of diverse nationalities and cultures. Seoul even designated Itaewon as its first ‘Special Tourism District,’ to highlight it as a destination for internationals to enjoy a diversity of culture, shopping, and entertainment experiences.

High quality leather products in Korea can be found here at reasonable prices (though haggling is expected) as well as various types of traditional Korean souvenirs. Counterfeit goods and clothing are ubiquitous and of varying quality, but some genuine goods which are produced in Korea for the international market as well as some authentic imports can sometimes be found here. Itaewon is also known to have various tailors that peddle their services for making custom-made suits.

Many restaurants serving international dishes are found in this area including cuisine from India, Pakistan, Egypt, Turkey, Thailand, and Mexico, foods that are not widely available in Korea. The most important thing is, most of foods here are HALAL.

We stop at Sultan's Kebab House to have our lunch. The kebab here are very-very delicious and tasty, but the price is not reasonable indeed. It's cost us 4,500 won for one set of kebab with cola, that's is equivalent to RM15 per set.

Dongdaemun

Dongdaemun is a prominent landmark in central Seoul, South Korea. The Korean name "Dongdaemun" means "Great East Gate," and it was so named because it was the major eastern gate in the wall that surrounded Seoul during the Joseon Dynasty.

I've written it as a must visit place after our arrival to Seoul.It was around 11:30a.m when we walked to the nearest subway station from the guesthouse which is the Beutigogae Station. We were accompanied by a group of Malaysians that also heading to Dongdaemun.

The place is supposed to be very very busy especially on weekends! I guess all the side walk vendors were closing because it was Sunday. But, we check on the net, it's not close on Sunday.Dunno why they close that day. But, we were lucky because there still got some vendors at the sidewalk were open.

Dongdaemun is a must go! ^^

We're departed from UMP at 6.00 a.m in the morning and arriving LCCT at 10.30 a.m. After check-in our luggages, we walking around to get some breakfast because we're not eating any food before travelled.

At 1.45 p.m, we're took off from LCCT to Incheon International Airport.

We arrived Seoul at 9.15 p.m.

Its raining in my heart…

Im not sure if that is possible though, what does raining in the heart exactly mean is? In my case, i would say my feelings of sad, a little bit of boring and a very small bit of loneliness. i guess it may include tiredness, laziness, sleepiness, madness,… ness,,, mess………..etc

ohmy… i feel kinda depressed.. not happy at all,.. to be truth, it doesnt have anything to do with my study.just got busy with my club's activities...huhu

with a little rain just now, i feel theres something wrong, i got some instinct things would be bad for next few days, maybe i should be more careful… not to mention, not to feel to excited as i may receive some bad news later on… it just that, i feel like i missing something… something not goes with the flow….

Just after the killer paper

Structure paper was so much scary as we are so depressed to sit for the exam and the feeling is just like having the driving test for the second time.. phewwww

Today my first final exams paper will start on 9 a.m, and now at 5.39 a.m. I'm still blogging and to be truth, i wasn't quite prepared.

First paper ; Environmental Engineering.

I'm kinda stressing myself here, with all my coursework mark is below average, i don't see much that i can score great in this semester.

Some of the guy were not having any paper today, so i can see how the react on that, my housemates, enjoying himself of a 2 seasons marathon on Chuck. Others housemate, enjoying the sleeps like there's no tomorrow. and me here, killing myself using a Casio fx-570MS and a blue pilot mechanical pencil.

Right now, I'm very sure, some of my colleague are fully ready to their first battle. armed with their newly-bought pens, an exam slips, matrics card, and what other buff you could think of.Don't ever-ever thinking to bring any 'toyol' ok~!!

p/s : please don't forget to bring any of those weapons k? don't want to see any of you guys running outside the halls…hehe

Studying Last Minute...some tips for you

Exam is around the corner, time is definitely running out but you have not covered revision for half the syllabus yet? What should you do?

That’s right folks, the clock is ticking unbelievably fast and you are starting to panic. You wish you could convert your brain into a sponge and soak up everything directly off the books… but alas, that is purely wishful thinking! So, the next best thing would be to roll up your sleeves, switch on that studying mode and start studying in earnest!

‘Fret not, many out there are just like you, so here are some useful tips to help you gear up for that dreadful but all-too-important exam :

1)FIND YOUR PRIME TIME
Not everyone can study at anytime of the day. Some find their minds fresher and function better in the early mornings, some just the opposite; whatever work that needs to use their minds can only get done at night. Prime time simply means the most effective time of the day where you are most productive. It could be 1, 2 or 5 hours a day. But for your own sake, if this is a real last minute thing, please stretch it for as long as you can!!

2)DON’T STUDY HARD (HUH??)
As opposed to popular belief, studying more may not necessarily mean better results in your exams. The smarter way to study is, study the right thing. Selective studying means you don’t have to read and memorize the entire textbook. You will only have a brain-traffic-jam of facts and figures, which will only confuse you further, and makes you forget what’s really important.

Find your own way of selective studying. What works for others may not work for you. Once you have found a way that suits your own, stick to it and use it often.

3) PAST YEAR QUESTIONS
The most conclusive way of making sure you are studying the right stuff would be to attempt past year questions. Get your hands on as many past year papers and exam papers.

4) STAY AWAKE

“I really want to study but I keep falling asleep once I open my book! How??”

Many students fall asleep while studying because they choose to study just before bedtime, or they sacrifice sleep for the past few weeks just for last minute studying. In any case, how do you solve the problem of falling asleep while studying?

The answer is : DO WHATEVER IS NECESSARRY!!

5) STAY AWAY FROM DISTRACTION
Distraction varies from TV, cell phones, computer games or social networking websites, to family environment, social functions or even mood swings.

How do you expect to have time for studying if you spend 3 hours a day online? This is only an example. Not to mention the endless social functions you have to attend almost every weekend, the oh-so-exciting-TV series that you can’t miss, the twice weekly football game with the guys, the girlfriend who throws a tantrum if you don’t call her up to chat an hour a day, the daily afternoon nap that will get you cranky every time you miss it. And after everything is done and quiets down, you find that you are either too tired or simply, “not in the mood to study”.

The keyword here is : CONTROL.

Whatever the distraction is, keep it under control !! BAN yourself from Facebook / Myspace if you have to.

Discipline is of utmost importance to achieve this task. Nothing can distract you if and once you set your mind to it. I don’t have to elaborate further. You know what you need to do.

Well, I hope at least some of you desperate students out there would find these tips useful to your last minute studies. However, one important point to note is that the No.1 factor in making last minute studies successful is DETERMINATION & EFFORT.

As the old saying goes,

“where there’s a will, there’s a way”

and I will add this :

“where there is no will, there will be procrastination and delay. In other words, a million excuses”

Sad to say, if there is no determination or effort to start with, no amount of useful tips in this world will be of the slightest use to you. All your efforts in searching for the magic tips to study last minute and articles such as this, would be nothing but futile.

So, hang in there folks, and make the best use of the remaining time you have ! Good luck, y’all! Fighting~!!!

Yeah, from today onward I will STOP from playing volleyball for UMP. I need to focus more on my study and my beloved club, Sekretariat Rukun Negara UMP.

To all of my teammate in volleyball, GOOD LUCK on your coming tournament. Hope you win the gold medal in SIPTAR and MTUN. The most important thing is fighting a good place in MASUM 2011, you must bring back the gold medal also k...(><,)

Is this right?

Well, I have... obviously... or else I won't be sitting here blogging bout it...

Sometimes I wonder, why waste time and think bout whether is whatever happening right?

Can't we just do what is right to our own opinion?

Of course, i'm not encouraging robbing bank, murdering n etc as something right even with valid reasoning..

Is it so hard? Is it so wrong?

NO It isn't wrong!! But it sure is hard...

Last time, I use to tell myself, just go forth and do whatever that is right..

Until mistakes comes in my way... and I'll just sit and ask myself THE question..

This is because... some of us are stronger and some are just not...
