Noor Ul Islam will be holding a Parents Advice Session during March inshaAllaah. This is a Half an hour free consultation with a LBWF Senior Specialist Educational Psychologist (Shahnawaz Khan). The sessions will take place on the 7th, 14th, 21st and 29th of March 2012. The sessions are free but require booking in advance. Please call the head office on 020 8558 0786 to book and appointment. Noor Ul Islam Trust is seeking a dynamic Imam to serve the diverse community of various ethnic origins in East London.

The Imaam should be able to:

Able to perform various religious ceremonies such as marriages and funerals
Provide advice to the congregation
Help in preparation of speeches and events

The candidate should be:

Hafidh-ul-Quran with good clear pronunciation (preferable)
He will have a broad and mature understanding of Islam and respect for other religions
Familiar with various schools of Fiqh
Being an Alim is highy desirable
Well spoken in English and Arabic

Parenting for Life Course

Would you like to be a better parent? Noor Ul Islam Presents “Parenting for Life” – a 4 week course on parenting. The course will take place every Sunday for 4 weeks; starting from 29th January 2012 between 2pm -5pm.

The course will take place in 713 High Road, Leyton, E10 5AB and is open to brothers and sisters (fully segregated). There is a fee of £10 for the entire course. Widening Participation – Preparing for University

Noor Ul Islam presents its “Widening Participation” programme which helps youngsters prepare for University. The programme will take place at 713 High Road, Leyton, on Saturday 4th February 2012 from 2pm-4pm. The programme is aimed at those aged between 14 and 19 years old.

Alhamdulilah we have raised £857,000 through donations and loans since October 2011. We now need to pay the balance of £250,000 by June 2013 plus raise money to pay our existing lenders. Please continue supporting us.

Free Islamic Classes for Sisters

Noor Ul Islam will be holding free Islamic Classes for sisters every Friday from 7pm – 9pm at 715 High Road, Leyton, E10 5AB inshaAllaah. These classes were previously held on Tuesdays.

The classes will teach Arabic, Tajweed and Fiqh and are aimed at revert sisters but all sisters are welcome. The classes will start from 13th January 2012.

Qurbani Delivery Report

Alhamdulilah we have received a very good report from Muslim Charity regarding the Qurbani appeal.

In 2011, Noor Ul Islam chose Muslim Charity as an implementing partner of choice to perform its worldwide qurbani delivery on behalf of its donors. A total of 547 qurbanies were commissioned in 8 countries. Noor Ul Islam donors responded well to the East Africa Crisis Appeal, placing around 68% of their orders there.

Noor Ul Islam Trust presents the first its in three upcoming parenting courses: Home School Partnership

Would you like to learn how to take informed actions to raise the achievement and aspirations of young people? Come and join us for this one off event for parents free of charge. There are a number of limited spaces available, light lunch will be provided. The event will take place on Saturday 14th January 2012 between 2pm and 4pm. Fundraising Bazaar Jan 2012

Noor Ul Islam Trust Womens Group is please to announce it will be holding a fundraising bazaar in aid of Noor Ul Islam Trust. The bazaar will be on Wednesday 11th January 2012 between 10:30am and 12:30 at 713 High Road, leyton, E10 5AB.

The bazaar will include stalls, Quran recitation, an Islamic talk, Food and Bric-a-brac. Please see the poster for more details
