Wondering why Dungeon Keeper (DK) 2 keeps crashing? Don't worry, here is a perfect solution for the gamers to get rid of crashes and other common game errors.

Apply following fixes to solve Dungeon Keeper 2 crashing:

· Disable Windows Defender
· Clean Junk Files
· Scan and Fix Registry
· Configure Sound Quality
· Disable Aero Effects

Disable Windows Defender

Windows defender is a pre-installed program in Windows 7 and Vista. DK 2 crashing may occur due to conflicts between this antispyware software and the game. This problem can be fixed by disabling Windows defender. To do so follow the steps below:

1. Click on Start button
2. In search box type Windows Defender
3. Click on Tools and select Options
4. Now click on Real-Time Protection and Uncheck the option Use Real-Time Protection
5. Click on Administration and Uncheck Use this Program
6. Click Save and Press OK

Clean Junk Files

Junk files in your system may be creating hurdles in running the game. You can remove these junk files using a system cleaner program in order to fix Dk 2 crashing. Although you can do some of the cleaning manually but for a deep removal of unwanted and cluttered files from the computer using a system cleaner software is a better option.

Configure Sound Quality

Improper sound configuration may prevent you from playing the game. There might be a reason that your PC does not support high or medium level sound quality. Try to set sound quality lower to solve Dungeon Keeper 2 crashing. Follow the steps below for sound configuration:

1. Run Dungeon Keeper 2 from your desktop
2. From Main Menu go to Options
3. Select Sound Options
4. Reduce the sound quality and set it to low level
5. Save the configuration

Scan and Fix Registry

Errors and corrupt files in Windows registry also result in Dungeon Keeper 2 crashing. Try to repair registry before running the game.

To fix registry you need to download and install a powerful registry cleaner and run a full registry scan to remove all errors. Usually a good system utilities software comes up with the registry fixing feature as well.

Disable Aero Effects

Windows Aero effects can also cause Dungeon Keeper 2 crashing. Disabling it will allow you to run the game smoothly. Follow the steps below:

1. Right-click on desktop and
2. Click on Personalize
3. Select Windows 7 Basic theme instead of selecting theme from Aero Themes category
4. Close the dialog box

Shockwave Flash Player is an important part of the Windows system, that's used by millions of websites around the World to promote interactivity and smooth operation. We've found that although Shockwave Flash player is normally a very robust / stable system, it's continually leading a large number of problems to form, which can only be resolved by repairing the various issues that this part of the system may have.

Causes Of Shockwave Player Crashes Include:

The website you're viewing has some sort of error / problem
Your "registry database" as errors
Windows is unable to correctly load up the files and options it needs to run
How To Fix Shockwave Flash Player Crashes
-- Re-Install Shockwave Flash ActiveX Component - The first step is to re-install the Shockwave Flash ActiveX component on your PC, as this is the main piece of software which Windows will use to play back Shockwave applications. To do this, you should follow these steps:

Click "Start" > "Control Panel" > "Add / Remove Programs"
Select the "Shockwave Flash Player" listing
Select "Remove" next to the program
Follow the uninstall process
Restart your PC
Install Shockwave again

-- Make sure your drivers are working correctly - The "drivers" of Windows are used continually to help make sure that your computer can process the software & hardware of its system in the right way. We've found that drivers can be a major cause of Shockwave Flash errors, making it vital that you're able to repair the various issues it may have with these steps:
Click onto "Device Manager"
Look at all the pieces of hardware on your PC
Make note of any ones which may have problems
Look on the Internet & download the latest drivers for each program

-- Clean Up The Registry Of Windows - The registry is a large database inside every Windows system. It's basically where your computer will keep everything from your most recent emails to your desktop icons, and is used to help ensure that your PC can process the files that it requires to operate. Although this part of your computer is continually being used to help ensure that Windows is able to run as smoothly as possible, it's continually leading a large number of problems to form, including issues with Shockwave Flash. In order to fix this, you have to be able to use a program called a "registry cleaner" to scan through this part of your PC and automatically fix any of the errors inside.

You use Ctrl+Alt+Del to see what's running on your PC, to close crashed programs and processes, and to check performance. You probably avoid a few processes whose names mean nothing to you, but they're essential to Windows. svchost.exe sure likes to appear all the time and multiple times at that. What's taskmgr.exe? Oh yeah, it's the window you're looking at right now. ctfmon? Is he related to Pokemon? navapsvc.exe? Navy? Napa Valley? Navel? NOTA (none of the above).

This is not a comprehensive list as that would take days. It has the standard processes as well as process names from popular applications. If you want to know about a process, the best place to go is... ProcessLibrary.com. Just like adware and spyware, there are bad processes that come to life thanks to the bad guys like Trojans and viruses. The site has a list of the top five security threats, so watch out for those processes.

Also, beware the bad guys like to use legitimate names of processes. For example, rundll.exe is a system process that should not be terminated. However, recent reports have stated, "It can also be the LOXOSCAM virus depending on Operating System and file path; this is always a virus on Windows XP and 2000 operating systems however."

You can download software that provide more information about the process. Task Manager, as you know, says nothing except the name of the process and how much CPU it's using. One example is Process Explorer, a standalone application that also has the option of replacing the built in Task Manager for windows. It shows you information about which handles and DLLs processes have opened or loaded.

acrotray.exe

Acrobat Assistant that is used when printing documents to a PDF. The process should not be removed while converting documents to PDF.

ADService.exe
Active Disk Service is a component of the Iomega zip drive.

AppServices.exe
Also for the Iomega zip drive.

ccEvtMrg.exe
Associated with Symantec's Internet Security Suite. Keep it and protect your PC.

ccSetMgr.exe
Also associated with Symantec's Internet Security Suite. Keep it and protect your PC.

csrss.exe
System process that is the main executable for the Microsoft Client / Server Runtim Server Subsystem. It should not be shut down.

ctfmon.exe
Non-essential system process. If you're using only English as the language, then it is not needed. However, it's recommended to leave it alone.

explorer.exe
This must always be running in the background. It's a user interface process that runs the windows graphical shell for the desktop, task bar, and Start menu.

iexplore.exe
Internet Explorer browser. But why are you using it unless it's for a site that doesn't work in any other browser? Use Firefox instead.

lsass.exe
Local Security Authority Service is a Windows security-related system process for handling local security and login policies.

Navapsvc.exe, nvsrvc32.exe, and navapw32.exe
These are Symantec's North AnvtiVirus processes. They or whatever virus program you use should run all the time.

realsched.exe
RealNetworks Scheduler is not an essential process. It checks for updates for RealNetworks products. It can be safely disabled.

rundll32.exe
A system process that executes DLLs and loads their libraries.

savscan.exe
Nortons AntiVirus process. Keep it.

services.exe
An essential process that manages the starting and stopping of services including the those in boot up and shut down. Do not terminate it.

smss.exe
Session Manager SubSystem is a system process that is a central part of the Windows operating system. If you try to kill it, it will be difficult... hence, the importance of leaving it be.

spoolsv.exe
Microsoft printer spooler service handles local printer processes. It's a system file.

svchost.exe x 6
You may have more than six appearances of this process or less. It's there multiple times to handle processes executed from DLLs. Leave it there.

System
This is a file that stores information related to local hardware settings in the registry under 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE'. Kill it and kiss your PC's stability bye bye.

System Idele Process
Calculates the amount of CPU currently in use by applications. This won't go away no matter how hard you try. Don't try it, OK?

taskmgr.exe

Appears when you press Ctrl+Alt+Del.

wdfmgr.exe
Windows Driver Foundation Manager is part of Windows media player 10 and newer. Better not to stop the process.

winlogon.exe
Handles the login and logout processes. It's essential.

winword.exe
The great Carnac says, "You're running Microsoft Word."

Don't panic if you see something you have on the "bad guy" list. svchost.exe is important, but some are good guys and some are bad guys. Do your research before deleting anything. For instance, I have admin.exe, which has been reported as a bad guy. However, it is the admin process for one of my programs. When I closed the program, admin.exe also went away.

Each of the items in the checklist below is part of a broad and easy to implement security policy.

Install all windows critical updates for your operating system from the Microsoft Update site - it's free! All that's required to keep your Microsoft operating system up to date is an Internet connection.

Install and configure a firewall - either a hardware or software based firewall is a must! If you are using a router, it probably has firewall capabilities included. Software firewalls are available at minimal cost; one of the best is free!

Install and configure antivirus software - the cost is minimal, there are even free versions available - the protection is priceless! Update the definition files daily - scan your drive weekly - it can all be automated with most programs.

Create a backup - even the best plan can be circumvented - be prepared for the worst with a complete backup of your hard drive! If you already have a CD burner and software installed in your machine, you probably have the tools to create a complete system backup - for only the cost of a few CD-R's!

Obviously, the costs to properly protect yourself from the worst threats to your security are almost nil.
I recently took a good look at what was keeping me from accomplishing what I needed to do. After all, I had my goals. I had them written down. I read my affirmations daily. And still, I was not achieving what I wanted to do.

Leaving town was a major undertaking. And that's not good when you're a professional speaker! I need to be able to leave at a moment's notice and arrive ready to give my full attention to my audience. So it was time for a look at what was holding me back. Here's what I found.

1. I used my desktop computer in the office. However, my accounting program and contact databases were on that machine, so my assistant also needed to use it. We sometimes found ourselves waiting for the other person to get off the machine before we could do what we needed to do.
2. I used a 3-lb laptop on the road. Though I rarely used them, I had to pack the CD player and floppy drive, plus the docking bar with the parallel port on it - just in case I needed any of those items.
3. I often found myself without a file I needed or a contact's information. It took me up to an hour or two before I left town each time to decide on and transfer what I needed to my laptop, then another 30 minutes or more when I returned to update my desktop with all I had worked on while I was gone.
4. I had an early 2MB Palm V that could not hold any e-books and did not sync with my Outlook calendar and contacts. So again, I spent a lot of time copying and pasting information between my desktop or my laptop and my Palm.

In general, things were not working well and the problems were pretty obvious.

Here's how I resolved most of my issues.

1. I bought a new laptop. This is 3 years newer than the other, but it's four times faster and has a larger screen. And while I traded a 3-pounder for a 7-pounder, my new laptop has a built-in floppy and a built-in CD burner. That means all the pieces are with me all the time. And with the CD burner, I can back up data quickly or move it to another computer easily - very nice when you need to use someone else's computer!

2. I moved my desktop to another office for my assistant. That means she and I can be working at the same time on the rare occasions I'm in the office - what a concept!

3. I only put the programs I need for my tasks on my laptop. So if I don't think I should be doing it, I didn't load the software. I did not put my accounting program or my databases on my laptop; instead, I'm delegating those tasks to my assistant (another new concept!) If I need to look at anything on those programs, I'll walk into her office and check.

4. I purchased a new color Palm. It's color with lots of memory. Best of all, it syncs with Outlook contacts, tasks, calendar and notes. Plus it uses Word and Excel, as well as Adobe Acrobat Reader. This is truly revolutionary! To ensure I have the information I need with me, I put the Palm into its cradle and it automatically syncs everything. No more deciding what to take, then copying and pasting it! I find I'm editing
Word documents on the plane, plus I'm getting a lot of the e-books read in airports and sitting alone in restaurants.

When I want to create an article from scratch (as I'm doing with this one), I use the keyboard.
In short, my travel life has changed dramatically in the past 2 weeks! And as I walk back into my office this afternoon, I'll pull my laptop out and put it on my desk, then sync it with my Palm. I will have everything with me that I've had on the road for the past 10 days. My assistant's work life won't be interrupted and we'll never lose a beat in getting the job done!

Just the sense of calm and control are worth it. No more frantic transferring of files as I leave. No more waiting to use my computer while she prints invoices for the month. No more... well, you get the idea! I'm thrilled with the make-over!

Do you need to review your productivity? Take this short quiz and see:

1. Do you always have the information you need with you - either on your cell phone, your laptop, and your PDA (personal digital assistant, such as a Palm Pilot or IPAQ)?
2. Are you trying to share a computer with anyone else?
3. Can you get on the Internet as often and as long as you need to?
4. If you need a client file while you're traveling do you have it? Can you get it within 15 minutes - even after hours?
5. If you need to move a file or print a file, so you have a way to do that while you're traveling?
6. Are there tasks that are not getting done? Why? Could it be cured by shifting or adding technology?

Remember: Technology is a tool that works FOR us. If you're working harder and longer because of the technology, it's not working the way it should. Don't put off productivity!
The best feature is that of embedded security for hardware and integration of a complete security suite for the OS. As a user, you will be glad to discover signed apps, secure boot, authentication features and many more security features that are a part of Windows 8.

Let us find out more about these security features and discover how secure the new Windows 8 is.

Secure Boot software

The Secure Boot is designed to protect your system from the primary level of hacking. Hackers initially target bootloaders and rootkits. Secure boot rechecks the entire file before loading it during the booting process to ensure that these files are free of any malware, infection and that they have not been tampered with. For example, if there is an issue with the bootloader and it infected then during the booting process Secure Boot will restore your system and the system attack might be thwarted.

Inbuilt Windows Security program

As soon as you start running Windows 8 on your system the Windows Defender (inbuilt-antivirus) will be enabled. This anti-virus program pre-loaded in the software by default and is enabled while starting up. This means that you already have the much required security. You still have the option of uninstalling it or disabling this security program if you want. Remember, if you are installing any other security suite then you need to disable the previous one first.

Early malware detection software

Windows 8 lays great emphasis on security. No matter which antivirus software you have installed on your system, its early detection security software will be the first to begin with along with the booting process. The feature of ELAM (Early Launch Anti-Malware) ensures that the initial driver to load on the system is a software driver from the anti-malware program. This way the software drivers are approved through ELAM to ensure the proper working of the system. All this is made possible by the new changes that are a part of Windows 8.

SmartScreen was earlier an IE feature for providing security to users while browsing. Now this feature is added to Windows 8. The advantage of having this added feature is that after downloading a file, this program filters it for its popularity rating. This way the software is able to detect potential malware. If you download a low rated file on your system then SmartScreen will flash a warning alert on the screen.

Other password options

Windows 8 includes an added feature of Picture passwords. This feature allows the user to choose a specific picture from image library and create gestures that will combine straight lines, circles or taps combinations for setting a unique password. You can also choose to switch this with PIN authentication if you so prefer.

Improvements for Enterprise Security

The earlier versions of Windows user could define admin rights for accessing the files and folders according to number of users and groups. Windows 8 DAC is a feature that has a pre-defined functionality for the admin to access all the available data stored on the Active Directory. Now an admin can define rules for access control, login method including the location. For example if a category of private is defined for a specific set of documents that can only be viewed by marketing team then the admin has the right to make it accessible to marketing people only. This is how the access control rule works in relation to marketing.

Security for your App

The AppContainer is yet another addition to the security feature in Windows 8. This feature is useful for providing selective actions to the apps that you download on your system. This will protect the system from issues that might occur in the OS. You can also find the app on Windows 8 app store.

Complete data security

An added security feature by Windows 8 in relation to hardware security is yet another security measure by Microsoft. The drives will be self-encrypted, due to which systems will definitely be more secure. Now the data on your drive will be protected right from the outset and you need not worry about data security anymore.

After reading about how the new Windows 8 comes with inbuilt security features it is needless to say that it will surely be the most secure Microsoft enabled system till date.
Windows 8 adds a lot to the tablet world while still keeping its roots for desktop and laptop systems.

The biggest difference you will notice is that windows 8 has a brand spanking new start menu. Tiles are used for all your programs making it easier for tablets and touch screen laptops and desktops alike. The tiles are a nice upgrade to the new interface. For one, they update you with information on the fly. For example, the email tile will give you a summery for your newest emails right on the tile! You are able to rearrange all the tiles to easily access programs that are more often used.

Another great inclusion to Windows 8 is the Windows Store. You can now buy applications on the fly right from your computer. Better yet a lot of applications are free and the ones that are not free are generally inexpensive.

The user interface has changed quite a bit and may take a few hours to become accustomed. For example, windows 8 programs will not show up on the task bar. Windows 8 programs are tablet ready and all windows 8 applications run in their very own window in full screen.

As such, to switch between windows 8 applications, tap the right corner of the screen and select which program you would like to use. if you are opening a standard application, the desktop will popup and the application will run in a familiar windows fashion.

Although there are a lot of great upgrades big and small there are still a few things to be desired. For example, if you have a lot of programs you may have a difficult time locating one out of the applications line-up as every single program shows at the same time.

Also if you do not have a touch screen but instead have a multi-touch pad, many applications will not support two touch scrolling making it difficult to get around. For all you techies out there, you will be disappointed to know that Microsoft has become more vague in there descriptions.

For example, Many times during installation you will gets status updates like "Doing some stuff please wait". Of course we know you're doing stuff, I want to know exactly what you are doing!

All in all I think it is a worthwhile purchase. However I would not recommend the upgrade version as it may or may not work very well. I personally tried to upgrade my laptop with years' worth of programs and files.

Everything eventually installed but half the time it would not boot and when it would boot half the tiles would not even work. I recommend doing a backup and reinstalling fresh. Good luck and I hope you have a great experience with the new version of Windows.

How to update Windows 7 drivers? easy way to keep Windows 7 Drivers updated automatically

How to keep and use a latest drivers on Windows 7 automatically? Did you know how to make that drivers are latest version it self? If you don't know how to did it i recommend that you read this articles below.

Is there any easy way to update Windows 7 Drivers? Some people think the only way to automatically keep drivers updated is to use driver update software. But I want to tell you that you there is an easy way other than using a driver tool. I am going to introduce a new tool that you may not know-Windows Update.

When Engineers of Microsoft were developing Windows 7, they greatly improved Windows Update. In earlier systems, it can only download and install system update and patches. But in Windows 7, it can also find and download updated drivers for your devices!

To use Widows Update to help you automatically find and download the latest drivers, you will need to follow the steps below:

Step 1. Click "Start" menu, click Control Panel, and then Windows Update.

Step 2. In the opening window, click Check for updates. It will automatically check for system updates, patches, along with driver updates for you devices. Just wait for few minutes until the checking process to complete.

Step 3. In the checking report, you will find a lot of available updates for your computer. You will need to select them in the list by yourself. And then click "Install updates" button, the update process will start automatically.

Step 4. When the download and install process is completed, restart your computer.

See? Windows update is a very easy tool to check and find latest drivers for you devices. You don't need to spend hours searching on the internet for a single driver any more.

Although, it is an easy way to use Windows update to update windows 7 drivers. But comparing to top driver update software, it has several shortcomings.

Shortcoming 1. The download speed is not very fast. Because it is not a tool that excels in file downloading. What is more, it needs to download system updates together. The process of downloading all the system and driver updates could be time-consuming. I used Windows Update for several times, it took me a very long time sitting in front of my computer waiting for the updates are completed.

Shortcoming 2. And it is known that Windows only performs schedule update for its driver database. That means it won't get you latest drivers timely when new drivers are released from device manufacturers. Consequently, the drivers probably have been "outdated", when it detects new drivers for your devices. That is an obvious disadvantage.

Using Windows update is much an easier way than manually checking driver updates by yourself. But it is suggested that you use professional third-party software to ensure that you can get the latest drivers in time.

To find a good driver updater, you can click here to find out the recommended Windows 7 Driver Updaters for your computer. And you can visit my website to find an easy way to help you automatically check and update Windows 7 Drivers.
Don't keep in your mind that windows 7 are so slow that never because if you are understand well that Windows & are very faster ever that Microsoft release product. Find out more how to setting up your Windows 7 and speed up your Windows 7.

For some Windows 7 users, I believe they will sometimes ask "why is Windows 7 so slow", even though they are using the correct version and insisting on Viruses/ spyware scan. Actually, with some simple actions, we can easily speed up Windows 7 running speed.

1. Reasonably manage startup programs. Too many programs run simultaneously which run out of the system resources, and eventually make Windows 7 run so slow. To speed up Windows 7, first please go to "Start" -> type "msconfig"in the search box and press "Enter" to access "System Configuration Utility". Here, click the "Startup" tab and check the entries, then uncheck the applications that you do not need to run when booting up Windows 7. With this action, you will see an increase in Windows 7 boot speed.

2. Uninstall the unneeded programs. The useless programs installed on the computer will take up valuable disk space which plays important role in making Windows 7 faster. Do remember to uninstall the unneeded programs from Add/Remove Programs.

3. One main cause for "Why Windows 7 is so slow" is resulted from the visual effects for they require a small amount of extra power. We can adjust Windows visual efforts to speed up Windows 7. Right click on "Computer" to choose "Properties" ->click "Advanced System Settings" from the left pane to open the System Properties window -> Select "Advanced" tab -> Click "Settings" within "Performance" tab -> Choose "Custom" option -> uncheck the unneeded options.

4. Defrag the computer. No matter what kind of operating systems we are using, a disk defragmentation can not be missed. Though it seems a little boring and simple, it helps to reassemble the fragmented files on the disk, making them always stay at the same place and much easier to be reached. So to speed up Windows 7, don't forget to defrag the computer at least twice a month.

5. One direct and effective way to speed up Windows 7 is regularly clean up the registry. If it is too bloated or there are too many invalid registry items existing, system slowness/ freeze-up / crashes will come on the neck of another. A cleanup of registry will make Windows 7 run mush faster.

By insisting on doing the tips on daily life, you can easily speed up Windows 7. And, simply click here, you will quickly get answers to "Why is Windows 7 so slow".
Time is gold, take more time is wasting gold and money. Like booting windows 7 is a like wasting money if the booting are take so longer time to start the windows, so read the articles below to find out more How to Investigate Windows 7 Boot Time.

The time it takes for a Windows Operating system to boot up has steadily decreased over the years, due to advances in hardware technology and also the improvement in Windows Operating systems. However, even Windows 7 can exhibit slower than average boot times and in this article, I will be looking at how to investigate slow boot times and how to remedy them.

Windows Event Viewer.

Windows Event Viewer has been around since 1993 when Windows NT was released. Although only offering basic information, it has since grown into an extremely useful diagnostic tool.

So lets look at Windows Event Viewer.

Click the Start button and type in Event in the Start Search box, and click Event Viewer.

Next, we need to use the Custom View feature, which allows you to create and save a filter.

Click on the Action tab, and select Create Custom View.

Leave the Logged box set to Any time, and tick all the Event level boxes.

Select the By log button and click the drop-down arrow.

Click the box with the plus sign next to Application and Service Logs.

Click the box with the plus sign next to Microsoft.

Click the box with the plus sign next to Windows.

Click the plus sign next to Diagnostic-Performance,and tick the Operational box.

In the box that says , delete that entry and type in 100.

Click OK.

In the Save Filter to Custom View dialogue box, type in Boot Time in the Name box, and click OK.

Repeat the above steps, but this time type 101-110 instead of 100, and call it Boot Degradation. Click on the Boot Time entry in the Custom Views tree, and click on the Date and Time tab. This will show you a log of each and every time that Windows has booted up. For each entry, clicking on the Details tab in the Event 100, Diagnostics-Performance dialogue box will give you a breakdown of the whole boot sequence. For our purposes, we're only interested in three values:

BootTime

MainPathBootTime

BootPostBootTime

BootTime is the sum of MainPathBootTime and BootPostBootTime and is the same value as that on the General tab. Remember, the value shown is in milliseconds,so we need to divide by 1000 to get the value in seconds. MainPathBootTime is the time between the Windows logo appearing, and the desktop appearing. BootPostTime is the time taken from when the desktop appears to where you can begin using Windows. To look at why Windows may have started up slowly, we need to click on the Boot Degradation entry that we created earlier, click on the Event tab and sort in ascending order. What the Event ID numbers mean.

Event 101

This means that the application took longer than usual to start-up. Particular applications that exhibit a large degradation time or appear regularly in this log, should be investigated.

Event 102

This relates to driver initialization. If this occurs regularly,it may be worth your while to upgrade your particular driver.

Event 103

In this case, a service has taken longer to start-up than normal. This can happen on occasions, but shouldn't happen regularly. Type services.msc in the Start Search box,and click services to see which ones you can change to Automatic (Delayed Start) or Manual.

Event 106

Background optimization took longer than usual to complete. This nearly always shows BackgroundPrefetchTime as being a problem, As Prefetch cache is always working, you can safely ignore this one.

Event 109

Device initialization problems. This may be a sign that your hard drive is failing if it happens regularly. A handy piece of free software is available called Soluto. Once installed, this will analyze your boot up time, and offer options as to which application should start-up. You can then choose to pause or delay startup applications. The next time you boot up, Soluto will show you how much time you have gained.

Following this article, can really help in tracking down applications that are slowing Windows 7 from starting up.

If you dont know how to fix it, then I recommen that you to read my article below to find out more about How do you Fixing Windows 7 Internet Connections?

Even though Windows 7 is a brand new operating system, it is inevitable that the Internet connection will from time to time require a reset. While trying the stand things like restarting your cable or DSL modem may help if the problem is with the actual connection. Sometimes the problem will be with the computer, and when that happens you may end up scratching your head and listening to cheesy hold music while waiting for the technical support agent to come back to the phone. Worse yet after waiting and waiting the tech may very well come back and tell you the problem cannot be resolved on their side and suggest you contact the manufacturer of the computer. Which means more time spent on hold, and the very probable start of a migraine.

In this article I will try and save you some time and headaches, I will be going over the main steps you will want to take when trying to fix a connection problem within Windows 7. The first is of course, restarting the computer, your router and your modem. If after this the connection is still not working correctly you may want to try some of these next steps.

First try resetting Internet Explorers options, do this by opening up your control panel. Select "Internet Options". In this window click on the "Advanced" tab, near the bottom of this tab you should see a button that says reset. Click on it, Then click OK. Close Internet Explorer then restart the computer again. Try your Internet.

If the above does not work then there may be a problem within Windows 7's network. So you will want to try resetting that as well. To accomplish this, you will first need to open the run window. To do this press and hold the windows logo key, and while holding it press the letter R. You should see the "Run/Open" window appear. Type the following into the line, then click OK.

netsh int ip reset log.txt

When you click OK you should see a black screen come up, stay open for a moment or two, then disappear. After this window goes away go ahead and restart the computer again. Let Windows 7 fully load, then open up Internet Explorer and try the Internet connection again.

If this does not do it you can try flushing your DNS cache. To do this you will need to open the Run/Open window the same way as described above. However this time type the following into the window then click ok.

ipconfig /flush_dns

Another black screen will appear for a moment or two, then it will disappear. Go ahead and restart the computer and let Windows 7 fully load back to the desktop before trying your Internet again.

If at this point your connection is still not working properly you will want to go over any security software you have installed. Typically new computers will come with Norton Internet Security or McAfee Internet Security pre-installed. Open up the control panel for either program and look for things like firewalls, and filtering software. Try disabling it, do not worry after a reboot they should be turned back on automatically. You may even want to try adding Internet Explorer to the trusted programs list. Sometimes called Exceptions List.

If you are using a router, you can even try by-passing it temporarily. Do this by turning everything off, take the wire running from your computer to the router and switch it to the modem itself. Turn on the modem, wait 3-5 minutes for it to load then turn on the computer again. Let Windows 7 boot up, then try Internet Explorer again. If it works now, the problem lies within the router itself. Could be a bad router, or it may need to be re-configured.

For that matter take a look at the modem itself and make sure all the proper lights are on and solid. Activity lights may or may not blink with activity on the network, however the rest of the lights should be on and steady. A blinking light typically indicates a problem with that part of the connection.

If that last step fails you will most likely want to call your Internet provider and have them walk you through all the settings. Diagnosing a bad connection can be hard even for the most seasoned IT professional, so do not become disheartened if the above does not work for all issues. None of the above is detrimental to your machine, the netsh command simply tells windows to rebuild the TCP/IP portion of your network on the next start up. Just remember if you disable your security software while troubleshooting to re-enable it once everything is working again. Or remove it and install a different program to take its place.

If you are using a dialup connection as apposed to a broad band connection you may even want to try deleting and re-creating the connection itself. For dialup connections some bits of information are stored directly inside of the actual connection and not within Windows 7 itself. Deleting and re-creating these connections can some times fix Internet problems on any version of Windows.

Also bear in mind, any type of parental software or Internet monitoring software that is installed could be causing browsing issues as well. These types of programs need low level access to your connection and because of this they can cause issues when Windows 7 attempts to open an Internet resource.

One last item that bears mentioning, User Accounts. Make sure that you are logged into an Administration account when trying any of the suggestions here. To check your account type, open up your control panel and you should see a "Users" section. Simply open it and verify that you are in an administration account. If you are not, you may need to contact the location you purchased the PC from for instructions on accessing the Admin account.
But dont know how to take it? Please consider to read this article from beginning until the last rites. Ever like a picture and want to capture it instantly to email, embed in a document, or use it as your desktop background etc.? You can do so by taking its screenshot, also known as screen capture. Windows 7 makes taking screenshots easier with both the Print Screen key and a built-in Snipping Tool. Below mentioned is the free Windows 7 support guide that will help you take a screenshot and also save it as a picture.

Instructions:

Before you begin taking a screenshot, make sure that the Num Lock, Insert, Scroll Lock, keys are turned off. When done, open a program window or webpage whose screenshot you want to take. For example, open your web browser and look for a screensaver or wallpaper. When it is opened, click Print Scrn SysRq key on the keyboard and you are done. The screen has been captured and simply needs to be copied to a Paint or word file. Even if you do not copy the picture to any file, it will automatically be copied as a clip to the Office Clipboard.

If you only press the Print Scrn SysRq key, the entire screen will be captured. If you want to capture only an active window, press and hold theAlt key and then press the Print Scrn SysRq. When done, copy the image on a paint or word file etc. See below to learn how to copy an image on a Paint file. The procedure remains the same for other files also like MS-Word, Excel etc.

For example, if you want to copy the picture to a Paint file, use this method. Click the Start button and browse to All Programs> Accessories> Paint. This will open up a new Paint file. Right-click the screen and click Paste. Or, you can click the Paste button at top right hand corner of the window. When done pasting the picture, click the Home tab and resize or rotate the picture as desired.

When done, save the changes by pressing the Ctrl and S keys together on the keyboard. Type a name of the file and then click the Save button. Your picture is now ready for use. You can now either email it, embed in a document, or simply set it as your Desktop wallpaper. Other than the Print Screen key, Windows 7 integrates a Snipping Tool that helps you take screenshots either of the entire screen or a portion of it.

Yes, the Print Screen key does not offer you to capture a part of the screen but the entire screen or the active window. However, Snipping tool lifts up this limitation to make screen capturing easy. Click the Start button and click Snipping Tool from the start-up programs. If you don't see type 'snipping tool' in the start-up programs, type 'snipping tool' (without quotes) in the Start Search window. As you type it, you will see Snipping Tool in the search results. Click to open Snipping Tool.

When done, you will see a small Snipping Tool box. Click and drag the scissor-shaped icon (encircled red) to take the screenshot. Stretch the selector to capture a desired portion or the entire screen and you are done. You will see your captured image in the Snipping Tool dialog box. Make the desired changes to the image and save it. It will be saved as a JPG image. Exit the Snipping Tool box.

Look for your picture in the location you saved it into and either share it via email or post it on your Pinterest, Facebook or Twitter profile. The tool is faster and easier to use than the Print Screen key.

Additional Tips:

If you face problems while taking a screenshot or using the Snipping Tool, contact Microsoft Windows 7 support.
Unlike previous versions of Windows, this system has been designed to run as fast as possible on your particular system... and if it runs slowly, it's because there is a set of problems that are causing it to do so.

The first thing you should do to speed up a Windows 7 PC is to determine whether it's a hardware or a software issue that's causing it to run slowly. To do this, you should reboot your PC and press F8 continuously before it loads. This will bring up an options screen with a series of options on. You need to select "Safe Mode" from these options, which will boot your PC with none of the drivers and additional software that can cause 7 to run slowly.

Safe mode is a good way to see if your PC's slow speed is being caused by the software on your system or the hardware that powers it. Basically, if you have a computer that runs slow in safe mode, then you have an issue with your hardware that should really be looked at by a professional computer technician. However, if it seems to run okay in safe mode, then your PC's problems are caused by the software on your system.

Having corrupt or damaged software is a big problem which causes a lot of computers to run slowly. This problem is actually the most common reason why Windows will run slowly and is a surprising issue for Windows 7. Fortunately, if your PC runs well in safe mode, and has software problems that cause it to run slow, there's a simple way to fix it.

The biggest cause of Windows 7 running slowly is actually a part of your system called the "registry". This is a database which stores information, settings and options for your computer, and is where Windows keeps everything from your latest emails, desktop wallpaper and even your saved passwords. Each time you use Windows 7, it has to load up 100's of settings from the registry database, allowing it to remember all sorts of information for your PC.

Unfortunately, the registry is used so much that Windows actually gets confused as to which files & settings it has open. This causes your PC to save many of these important settings in the wrong way, causing them to become unreadable the next time your PC wants them. And when these files become unreadable, it takes Windows longer to process them, slowing it down. The more registry settings that are damaged, the slower Windows 7 runs, which is why many computers seem to run slower as they get older.

This is an extremely common problem for many versions of Windows... however, it's actually a very easy solution to fix. You can use a 'registry cleaner' tool to fix all the damaged registry settings that could be slowing your PC down. These tools are software programs which scan through Windows and fix any of the damaged files that are making it take longer to load up. If you can get a cleaner which finds the largest number of registry errors & fixes them, it could speed up your PC dramatically.

You can make Windows 7 run fast again by first testing to see if it's a hardware problem or a software problem... and then fixing each issue as you find it. You can Click Here to fix a slow Windows 7 PC.

How about Internet Explorer (IE) Running Slow on Windows 7

Are your Internet Explorer (IE) running slow on Windows 7? Have you tried the newest version called IE 9? Are your system secured from viruses and spywares? If the answer to these questions is in affirmative you may give a thought to optimizing your very own system to allow computer programs to run efficiently.

Unfortunately this slow speed in Microsoft browser has been experienced by many people who have started using Windows 7. It has been reported by a number of users that initially all the web browsers run fast but as some time passes they start to run slower.

Undoubtedly slow performance of PC programs is intolerable. However, it is not just the IE browser that runs slow on Windows 7. Other browsers such as Opera, Chrome and Firefox have also been found to run slow due to various reasons. Sometimes users install Windows 7 in their old systems with low hardware specifications. This reduces the overall speed and performance of the computer. At other times people who are fond of using too many add-ons in their browser suffer from slow browsing.

If you are looking to speed up Internet Explorer for your Windows 7 follow these simple guidelines:

* First of all clean computer up through a sophisticated registry cleaning tool The registry repairing program will work to reduce registry clutter and fix those errors which cause the computer programs to run slow and crash frequently.

* Optimize your system by managing computer services, conducting a registry defrag scan and cleaning system and browsers junk through a good system utilities program. If you are an expert computer user you may do these jobs manually.

* Go to the control panel settings and adjust 'mouse' settings. In the mouse settings Window click on the pointer options and make the pointer speed a little faster. This little act will give you a feel that your computer is running faster.

* Clear the IE cache: Whenever you are about to quit browsing clear the internet explorer cache to make it lighter and run faster on the Windows 7.

* Clean the temporary internet files and the IE history. A system utilities software can do this job automatically.

* Get rid of excessive toolbars: Excessive toolbars and add-ons are often found to be not only making the browser slow but also causing it to crash frequently. Fixing the registry errors such as the active-x and file association errors can prevent your browser from crashing and freezing.

The above guidelines are found to be helpful to deal with the Internet Explorer running slow on Windows 7. In addition running the registry repairing scan with the Intel Software Partner, RegInOut is greatly helpful for improving browser and system's performance.

Windows 7 is indeed a great OS and almost certainly you are enjoying many of its features.

Sooner or later you decide to share a PowerPoint presentation with you colleague. You type "conf" in the Run menu to fire up a good old NetMeeting. You hit Enter anticipating a new and improved interface and... nothing happens. Wait, is my Windows installation broken or did they rename the software again?

Where is NetMeeting?

Let's make it clear right from the beginning - there is no NetMeeting in Windows 7. Microsoft removed it from their latest OS. Why? They are pushing companies to deploy fully-featured unified communication solutions such as Microsoft Lync. But what about those of us who are not ready or just don't need the complexity of such solution? All is not lost and there are some options available.

What are the alternatives?

Let's take a quick look at some tools that can be considered a NetMeeting replacement for Windows 7.

Microsoft official solutions

NetMeeting in XP Mode - essentially you run a Windows XP virtual machine within your Windows 7 OS.

Pros:

Free (in Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate).

You get full functionality of NetMeeting.

Cons:

Only available in Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate.

Heavy - running a separate OS just for one application seems like overkill to me.

Requires non trivial installation and configuration - might be a problem for end users.

Microsoft SharedView - cannot be considered a direct replacement for NetMeeting since it doesn't allow you to connect to another machine's IP directly. That is, it's not using a peer-to-peer (P2P) connection.

Pros:

Microsoft's official alternative for Windows 7.

Free.

Improved functionality.

Cons:

Works over Internet and therefore requires Internet connection.

Less secure - your data leaves your private network.

Slow on local network since it's not P2P anymore.

Requires Windows Live ID creation.

Limited to 15 participants.

Requires installation.

3rd party solutions

Tools like WebEx, LogMeIn, etc are readily available from numerous vendors. Functionally-wise they are even farther from NetMeeting than Microsoft SharedView and can be described by many users as "too much". The only situation in which I would recommend using such a tool for NetMeeting replacement is when your organization has already implemented it and pays for it.

Pros:

Rich functionality.

Your organization might have them already deployed.

Cons:

Expensive.

Most of them are web-based.

Usually complex user interface - functionally overloaded.

Require Internet connection and ID creation.

Not P2P and often slow.

These yet to be released smart phones from HTC Corporation are one of the few handsets to run in a Windows 7 operating system.

The imposing name of these smart phones is a clear indication that HDC Titan offers more than just a stunning display. The 16M colors S-LCD is big yet not that unpleasant to the eye at 4.7 inches. This screen is multi-touched enabled and has a gyroscope sensor that comes in handy when changing screen orientations. The display resolution is at 480 x 800 pixels.

Users will be surprised that even though HDC Titan is big in terms of size and weight, the candy bar designed unit is surprisingly thin at 9.9mm. Not bad since it is close to the iPhone 4 white model which has a 9.5 mm thickness, a 0.2 mm extra from its black counterpart.

The HDC Titan retains the comfortable rectangular shape its predecessors have since it has smooth, rounded corners that fits well in the hands of the users. The unit exudes a feel of minimalism with its carbon gray exterior at the back and black framing on the front side. Users will also notice that this hefty but solid handset is made with aluminum housing.

When it comes to HTC Titans battery, it is not far off from the recent Android phone releases. It has an average continuous talk time capacity of 11.83 hours while at standby mode, the handset can last for as long as 360 hours.

One thing that smart phone users will love in HDC Titan is the high camera resolution that most competing Android phones lack. With an 8MP resolution, users can capture lifelike photos of stunning moments. Video conferencing is also possible via Skype.
Unlike traditional point and shoot cameras, HDC Titans camera features a f/2.2 lens with dual LED flash and BSI sensor. The images produced from these cameras show almost life-like colors and are not blurry. There are instances though that the exposure of the images is too short, resulting to shaded details being lost.

When it comes to the software, HDC Titan boasts of its capacity to run in a Windows Phone 7.5 Mango OS. It also has a 512 MB RAM and a single core 1500 MHz processor. These features give HTC Titan users smoother experience in loading a variety of multimedia like games and videos. HTC Titan has a built-in internal memory of 16 GB to enable users to store their favorite movies and songs. Not bad for a mid-range phone!

The HTC Titan supports different avenues for connectivity. It has a 2.1 Bluetooth version and is Wi-Fi enabled. Connecting to personal computers for data and file sharing is possible with the microUSB port found at the bottom part of the phone. Users will also notice that this latest HTC phone model includes a DLNA connectivity option. This can be useful in connecting to a television or any external display for streaming of photos, videos, and music.

With all the features mentioned, smart phone users can give the HTC Titan a try so they can get that Windows Phone 7 experience in their phone.

Many are concerned that Windows 7 is just a patched up version of Vista. Microsoft insists that this is not so, but instead they took what was good about Vista and made it better. Windows 7 has been receiving many good reviews and is considered a strong competitor of Mac's OS X and Linux.

What Are Some Of The New Features Of Microsoft 7?

Windows 7 has touchscreen capability even for programs that were not originally designed to be touchscreen. All you need is a touch screen monitor. Homegroup allows you to easily share files, photos, music, etc. with other computers in your network. Windows 7 offers faster startup and faster performance. Windows 7's new Taskbar is touted by some as even better than the Snow Leopard Dock. The Taskbar allows you to "pin" your favorite programs to it and preview open windows.

Snap lets you easily move, minimize, maximize, and resize windows so that you can view more than one window at one time. Windows search is as easy as searching on the internet Windows 7 is faster and doesn't require as much memory and processor usage.

The Ultimate Edition offers Bitlocker data encryption that prevents hackers and thieves from accessing your important files.

Jump Lists lets you easily access the programs and files you use most often.

You can still run many Windows XP programs in the XP mode.

The Professional Edition costs about $200 for the upgrade and $300 for the full version. The Ultimate Edition costs about $220 for the upgrade and about $320 for the full version.

Equipment to run Windows 7 can start at around $300.

The Downside Of Windows 7

Some reviews have reported spotty performance with Windows 7, but probably the biggest downside is that this operating system needs to be time tested to evaluate its performance and reliability over the long haul.

How does Mac OS X Snow Leopard Compare?

Apple's Macintosh operating system already enjoys a reputation as easy to use and reliable, and offers users fast performance and stability. The standard software such as Safari, iPhoto, iChat, and Garageband is well liked by Mac users. Windows 7's new taskbar is very similar to Mac's standard Dock. While Snow Leopard is perhaps more like an upgrade than a new operating system, Apple has added some new features to Mac OS X Snow Leopard:

Snow Leopard offers faster performance and speed, and the new OS uses less disk space.

Upgraded Expose makes it easier to view all of your open windows while in the Dock.

Zoom Slider lets you take a closer look at the application before opening it.

Stacks now has a scroll bar so that you can see all of your applications.

Exchange support allows you to connect with Microsoft Exchange Server 2007.

The Downside Of Mac OS X Snow Leopard

Lack of business applications

A bug in Snow Leopard caused some users to lose data. The problem has since been rectified, but it is still a cause for concern, especially for business owners.

While snow leopard only costs $29, you must already be a Leopard user and own a Mac computer, which generally start at about $600.

The bottom line in this debate is that Windows is still the most commonly used operating system in the business world and the most business friendly. While Mac continues to maintain a solid reputation and is frequently used for publishing and graphic design, Windows has more to offer business owners.

Windows run personal computers are also more economically priced, and Windows 7 Ultimate Edition is specifically designed to keep business files safe and secure. Even though Windows 7 Professional and Ultimate Editions are more expensive than Mac's Snow Leopard, it still offers businesses a wider choice of business applications and available programs.
Which version do you even need? On the other hand, which one is best for you?

In this article, my aim is to show you the hidden and the obvious difference among the three versions of the windows 7, which includes the followings: Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional, and Windows 7 Ultimate.

First, I will like to start with the obvious before the hidden. The most obvious is the color of the packaging (The Home Premium is orange, the Professional is green, and the Ultimate is black) and the price. The Ultimate version is the most expensive among the three, followed by the professional then the Home Premium.

The Ultimate is the most versatile and powerful of Windows 7. It combines remarkable ease of use with the entertainment features of the Home Premium and the business capabilities of professional, including the ability to run XP productivity program in Windows XP Mode. For added security, you can encrypt your data with BitLocker. And for extra flexibility you can work in any of the 35 languages.

Let's now talk about the functionalities of the Window 7 and which version can perform such functions.

The Windows 7 make the things you do every day easier with improved desktop navigation which helps you to open files you use regularly in just two clicks. Navigations like- Snap, which allows you to arrange two widows side-by-side by just dragging them opposite sides of your screen. The Aero Peek, which lets you peek behind open windows to get a quick look at your desktop. And finally the Windows Search, which allows you to open virtually any file on your PC, from documents, to e-mails, songs, right from the start menu. These functions are contained in all the three versions of the Windows 7.

Now the next function is... it makes your web experience faster, easier, and safer than ever with Internet Explorer 8. All the three versions also can handle that.

Watch many of your favorite TV shows free when and where you want with Internet TV. You can even pause, rewind, and record TV programs. This feature can be obtained in all three versions too.

Another features the three share together in common is the ability to create a home network and connect your PCs to a printer with HomeGroup.

Now that is where the three share common functionalities and the difference start to come in.

The ability to run many Windows XP productivity applications in Windows XP mode stops in Windows 7 Professional and Ultimate.

Connecting to company networks is made easy and more securely with Domain Join, and that ends on the Professional and the Ultimate.

Easy data recovery with automatic backup to your home or business network can only be found on professional and Ultimate also.

Now, what they don't share in common are the followings:

The ability to protect your data on your PC and Portable storage devices against loss or theft with BitLocker.

Work in the language of your choice or switch between any of the 35 languages.

These last two functions can only be found in Window 7 Ultimate.

Now let's talk about the hidden difference... obviously there is no other obvious hidden difference as all the vital functionalities have been explored. The only thing that I will like to add is that, if you do not intend to encrypt your hard drive now or in the future and work with multiple languages that can only be found in Windows 7 Ultimate, then I will advise you to stick to Windows 7 Professional , which has all the media capability of Windows 7 Home Premium and the business functions of Windows 7 Ultimate.

Always make sure that you have very healthy anti-virus tool in your computer. These anti-virus software can block and also delete the viruses that could harm some of the files. If a healthy anti-virus tool is already installed in the PC, the crashes problem would be not related Virus.

Another reason for Windows 7 Crashes is the running of unnecessary programs. Identify the programs, some may be hidden, and uninstall them. If lots of applications are running in the computer, it could eat up a large part of the memory. However, this problem would rarely cause computer crash and it is not a big deal to the computer which has enough RAM. More RAM can help the applications run very smoothly and prevent the computer from frequent crashes.

Windows 7 Crashes also because of faulty drivers. The drivers that are not in tune with your system can make the computer slow down and crash. When using drivers, make sure that you have the latest ones that fit the system requirements.

The above problems are not import reasons to get computer crashed. Even though one of them cause the crash, it is very easy to fix it manually. The most important reason is the Windows 7 registry. It is the registry where most of the relevant data are stored. If any file in the registry gets corrupted, then the computer can crash. Once you clean the entire corrupt registry, then you can see that your computer performs in a good condition. You can clean the registry on your own or approach a technician to do the job for you. It is very hard for the user to fix registry manually, and very expensive to appeal to a technician. So the best option is to do the cleaning using registry cleaning software.
The system crashes randomly - right after login, in the middle of playing a game, while working on a file, and during web surfing, among others. Some users call this glitch the "black screen of death" where the screen of their computer will turn to black and eventually crash. The Windows 7 crash can be very frustrating, but there are ways to fix the problem.

Upgrade your memory or RAM. All software installed in your computer requires a certain amount of Random Access Memory (RAM) in order to run properly. Besides these applications, your operating system requires resources to run. To let these applications run smoothly without the crashing, free up some space or upgrade your memory.

Remove Spyware and Viruses. Make sure to always perform a scan to check for spyware and virus infections. There may be hidden and dormant malware in your computer. Delete these malicious files from your system. Always keep your computer updated with the latest virus definitions and security updates.

Fix Windows 7 Registry. The registry is a database which stores records of all your computer's activities. It contains settings and options that Windows continually references during operation. Over time, more and more data are added into the registry making it congested with redundant entries. These entries are no longer valid thus causing crashes especially in newer operating systems like Windows 7.

A cleaned registry can help fix the crashing problems. This is, however, impossible to do manually because most people can't pinpoint which registry entries are valid or not.

You need to have a registry cleaner installed. This software will deep scan your registry and clean those obsolete and invalid entries. It will also create a backup before cleaning so you can always restore your registry to its original state if you need to.

By following the tips mentioned above especially the last one, you can improve your computer's speed, optimize its performance, and completely eliminate a Windows 7 crash.

Windows 7 hanging or becoming unresponsive is a recurring issue Microsoft users have discovered when using this operating system.

The hanging is random. Windows hangs on the welcome screen right after login. It can hang during shutdown. The programs you opened can hang or just stop responding including your mouse and keyboard. This is quite frustrating especially if you are working on something important. There are actually a lot of causes to this problem, but below are the main reasons why Windows 7 hangs plus their corresponding fixes:

Viruses and Spyware.

Malicious files may be hiding in your system. These malware corrupt your files and hinder your computer's performance causing Windows 7 to eventually hang. Keep your virus definitions always updated. Make sure to also download the latest security patches and updates. Always run a scan on your computer to detect these viruses and spyware then delete them.

Too many programs running at once.

This consumes more virtual RAM (Random Access Memory) than your system can handle Don't open a lot of applications simultaneously. Limit the number of software and websites currently running to those that are importantly only. If you are a heavy multi-tasker, then upgrade your RAM to at least double what you are using now.

Corrupt Windows Registry.

The registry contains information and settings Windows 7 references during operation. This database eventually becomes cluttered because of redundant and obsolete entries leaving it corrupted. It is advised then to clean your Windows registry to delete those unwanted entries. A manual clean is not possible though because the registry is the brain of your computer and is somewhat complicated. A minor change or error in an entry can cause major damage in your operating system.

Diagnosing your system with a registry cleaner is the best solution to solve registry problems. It is specialized software that thoroughly scans your Windows registry, repairs any errors it sees, and deletes all those invalid entries. By having a clean registry, you will notice a great improvement in your computer speed and performance. It will also completely fix Windows 7 hangs.

Windows 7 Slow - How to Speed Up Windows 7 Quickly and Easily

Is your Windows 7 slow? Wondering how to speed up Windows 7 without breaking the bank? Well I may be able to help you. But first off you need to make sure you are meeting the minimum hardware requirements to run Windows 7 on your system. Here they are:

o 1GHz processor (32- or 64-bit)
o 1GB of main memory
o 16GB of available disk space
o Support for DX9 graphics with 128MB of memory (for the Aero interface)
o A DVD-R/W drive

Keep in mind however, that if you were able to effectively run Windows XP or Vista, there should be little reason that you cannot also run Windows 7. The new Windows OS is designed to be very light and run quickly without requiring huge amounts of RAM or GHz's. Most folks having problems are the ones trying to jump from Windows 2000 to Windows 7.

If you meet or come close to these requirements and Windows 7 is still slow, then the issue lies somewhere else. For starters, cut down on the amount of programs running in the background. You can use MsConfig to do this or simple install software that will identify programs secretly running in the background and eating up loads of virtual memory.

The second option is to clean the Windows registry. This is perhaps the most effective means to speed up Windows 7. There is no internal cleaning tool to clear out errors and corrupt files from the registry. This contributes to significant congestion which will slow down Windows 7 significantly.

While these tweaks can be complicated to perform alone, you can scan your system with software which will fix these problems automatically. It will only take a couple minutes and you should notice a faster Windows 7 right away. Don't worry about compatibility issues, if the program can run on Vista it can run on Windows 7.

Windows 8: An Extension to Windows 7 Fundamental Features

Windows 8 is loaded with a set of cult features that would surely drive the future of operating systems besides raising a bar for them. The urban-style OS has been built on the fundamental features of Windows 7, its to-be predecessor to offer an enhanced yet familiar user experience.

Besides being an improved version of Windows 7, what differentiates Windows 8 from the former is its unique concept and approach for computing that is a mix of conventional keyboard input and contemporary touch style. The mix and match style, which did not exist in the previous version has been designed to support multiple devices.

Compared to Windows 7, the upcoming OS offers enhanced system performance, improved reliability, refurbished kernel system, greater flexibility and security, and faster startups among other things. So let's take a dive into the world of Windows 8 features that are more or less an extension of Windows 7's or previous versions' features. Yet the features are unique in their own way and would offer a matchless experience.

User Interface (UI)- the all-in-one urban-style user interface offers you a quick glance through your world. Weather, emails, music, photos, instant messaging, RSS feeds, Control Panel, Windows Explorer, Internet Explorer, backups, and what not more, everything is cascaded on the user interface to give you a one-touch access to every little thing you need. What's more, you can customize the Start screen to add your favorite shortcuts and things like websites, photo albums, music tracks, and computer settings among other things. Thus you need not browse to different sections of your Windows to reach a particular application or program, simply pin it to your user interface and get going. Convenience and flexibility are the only things that Windows 8 offers for its users.

Windows Update- Microsoft has retained the old built-in feature in Windows 8 but in an improved manner. Now Windows Update will simply not interrupt you in the midst of playing a game, making an important presentation in Microsoft PowerPoint, or doing anything which is very important to you in that time. In other words, it will simply not push you to install the Windows updates first, reboot your computer, and start working afterwards.

Since Windows 8 knows that it is equally important to keep the computer up-to-date, it exploits the time when the system is idle and is not being used for any productive work. The operating system gives you an option to customize the Windows Update feature for scheduling updates and rebooting computer. Besides, you can choose a convenient time for rebooting your computer after an update has been installed. Consequently, you will not see those annoying prompts that would appear every now and then prompting you to install the updates.

Windows Task Manager- Here is your old feature but in new style. The new colored tile style lets you know which process or application is consuming CPU resources the most. The all-in-one Task Manager console offers more control and monitoring for your computer. Besides, you can see the comprehensive details, history, and summery graphs for all the applications and processes running on your computer. So if you find a process consuming much resource, you would know what to do with it.

Similar Hardware Requirements- Yes, Windows 8 does not require you to install additional hardware or software. It works on the same infrastructure on which Windows 7 and Vista works. As a result, it gives you relief from upgrading your existing hardware with a great deal of money. Though the touch input requires a multi-touch

Virtual Keyboard- This is something very unique and an outstanding feature in Windows 8. The OS comprises two touch-screen keyboards; with one is a thumb-size while other is a full-size keyboard consisting of large key buttons for enhanced convenience and flexibility. The virtual keyboard supports multiple languages for convenience and adjusts its layout automatically to touch-based PCs. Besides, it gives you word suggestions when you type a word, making your work easier and faster. What's more, it automatically corrects your spelling mistakes and even gives you spelling suggestions to minimize the chances of typing mistakes.

Windows 7 Duplicate File Finder - The Best Way of Finding Duplicate Files in Windows 7

According to latest investigation, over 50% PC users has duplicate files on their computer and mobile devices. And every PC user has to waste 5 minutes on the average every day in finding the right file. That is, one may need to spend 30 hours every year in looking for the right files from redundant files. You can image that will be much time you will waste in your life.

You need to clean up these unneeded, duplicate files on your computer. But if you have thousands of duplicate files, removing them by yourself is not a good idea. Because you need to browse every folder that may contain duplicate files and carefully compare them one by one. That also wastes you a lot of time.

Besides, that could be a little risky. You may delete an important file by mistake. I have the experience of deleting an important file when trying to find and remove duplicates from my computer. I have to use recovery software to recover it. So you need to be very careful.

The safest and easiest way to find duplicate files in your computer is to use a program. There are many duplicate finders on the internet. Some are free. And some are shareware. You can choose a good one to help you.

From my experience, a lot of freeware cannot thoroughly detect duplicates on your computer and mobile devices. Most creators of freeware don't depend on their software so that some freeware are not updated regularly. And therefore the functions are hard to compete with the paid software.

But I am not saying all the shareware can help you. There are many paid programs cannot detect duplicate files too. What is worse, they can even consider some unique files as duplicates. That will lead to serious problems and accidental removal of useful files.

Here is my point: no matter you use shareware or freeware, you need to select the good one for you. I will tell you the most important criteria to select a good duplicate file finder for Windows 7. You need to pay extra attention to the items listed below:

1. Scanning Algorithm. CRC 32 has been proven to be the most effective scanning algorithm. Find the programs that use CRC32 algorithm.

2. Report & File Preview. Check out if the program exports detailed report after scan. Besides, some top programs allow you to preview duplicate images, play music files and videos. That can help you easily seek out the duplicates.

3. Easy File Management. Some third-class programs only allow you to remove duplicate files. Quality software not only allows you to remove them but also allows you to rename or move them to other folders.

Despite being extremely advanced, and one of the most popular versions of Windows ever released, it's continually causing a large number of problems that will lead the system to slow down. To fix this issue, it's highly recommended that you are first able to get rid of any issues that the software of your system may have, as well as then ensure that Windows 7 has all the correct settings that it requires to run.

The way to speed up any Windows PC, especially Windows 7, is to fix the problems that are making it run slower. Although many computer repair technicians like to sell you extra hardware, the fact is that in 99% of "slow PC" cases, the system will be running slower thanks to the settings or software that operate inside your PC. This means that if you want to improve the speed of your computer, no matter how "old" your hardware is, you need to be able to use a program or tool that's going to repair the most problems that your PC may have.

How To Speed Up Windows 7

The first step to speed up Windows 7 is to first ensure that your PC has all its software working in the smoothest way possible. This should be done by uninstalling any programs that you don't use any more. Most people don't know this, but the more software you have installed on your computer, the less resources your PC will have to process the settings that your other programs will need to run. This causes most Windows systems to run slower, and needs to be fixed first. To do this, click onto "Start", then select "Control Panel". After that, locate "Uninstall A Program" and then click on any of the programs you don't use / want any more - removing them completely from your system.

The second step is to then clean out any registry errors that your computer may have. The registry is a central database which all Windows PCs use to store their settings, options & files. The registry is like the "Yellow Pages" for your system - which is where it loads up the likes of your desktop icons, most recent emails and even your passwords. Although the registry plays a very important role for the smooth operation of your system, it's continually causing a large number of problems - making it vital that you're able to use a registry cleaner tool to fix any of the potential problems that may be inside. This can fortunately done very easily by downloading a "registry cleaner" program to fix all the possible errors that this database could have. This is actually one of the more effective ways to speed up Windows 7, and can be done by using a tool such as Frontline Registry Cleaner 2.0.

Small Business Tips For Choosing Remote IT Support - A Remote IT Support Guide

When a small business begins looking into Remote IT Support and Remote IT Support Services for satellite offices it can be a technical minefield.

There are a plethora of methods for remote IT support, most use secure channel to access using RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) which listens on Port 3389 (though this default port can be changed when using PC's running Windows XP Professional SP3, MAC however can ONLY use Port 3389).

Microsoft currently refers to their official RDP server software as Remote Desktop Services, formerly "Terminal Services". Their official client software is currently referred to as Remote Desktop Connection, formerly "Terminal Services Client".

Remote IT support can also be provided using browser based technology, which is a more generic form and less secure than the RDP protocol and uses Port 80.

Windows Vista and Windows 7 (professional, business or ultimate editions only) have an in-built Remote IT Support feature which can be activated by following the following simple instructions - Right click on "My Computer", select "Properties" and select the "Remote" tab and select the security options applicable to your personal security requirements.

To connect from another Vista / Win7 PC on the same network, click the bottom radio button "Allow connections only from computers running Remote Desktop with Network Level Authentication". If you need to connect from an XP/2000 machine, click the "Allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop" radio button.

Don't worry about setting up firewall rules, Vista or Windows 7 does that for you automatically.

In conclusion - the newer releases of Windows should make Remote IT Support issues and problems arising from firewalls blocking remote requests and Router Port forwarding errors a thing of the past, and something most people even with limited IT knowledge should be able to set-up themselves, thus empowering the IT helpless to help themselves in the future.

How to Utilize Remote Desktop Control Features in Windows

Utilizing the Microsoft inbuilt remote desktop feature in windows can be a great experience. You can sit in a place and simply connect to the other computers at different locations. This feature provides full access over the remote computer. It seems like you are running and handling the remote computer in your hand. At the time, when you are accessing remote computer it is automatically logged off showing that it is in use by another computer as remote desktop control.

Once if you are connected with remote desktop connection to another computer, you get mouse and keyboard access of that computer. In this way you can access your home computer from your office without losing any application or important data files. You can easily set up connection between the computers by fulfilling the requirement to establish a connection or by following the steps given below.

Setting up remote desktop connection between two computers

The foremost requirement of remote desktop connection is that both the computers must be connected to a LAN network. It may be wired or wireless. In the latest versions of windows operating system like Windows Vista or Windows 7, you can connect both computers with a direct LAN cable or with direct wireless LAN and still you can establish connection between them.

The computers you are going to connect must be using one of the below mentioned versions of windows operating systems in order to establish the connection.

1. Windows 7. (ultimate or professional)

2. Windows vista. (ultimate or enterprise)

3. Windows XP professional.

Now, in order to establish the connection you must have administrator privilege over the computer you are going to connect. Hence, you can establish a connection only by taking permission from the user of the computer. You will not need any additional software because the utility is already installed in the above versions of windows.

Enabling remote desktop feature on your system

In order to establish connection you have to enable and give permission to others, so that they can use and control your computer. Follow the steps given below to facilitate and give permission to the users, in order to connect and use your computer as remote desktop.

1. Press window key.

2. Right click on computer.

3. Click on properties.

4. Click on remote settings.

5. Now, check the button to allow connection from the computers running any version.

6. Click on apply to change the settings.

Opening a connection

Follow the instructions to unlock remote desktop connection program.

Start menu >> all programs >> accessories >> remote desktop connection

Alternatively, you can click on windows button and type remote and press enter to open the same program on Windows 7 and Windows vista.

In order to establish the connection all you need is to type the IP address of the remote computer in the textbox next to the 'Computer'. Now, give the username and password of the computer when prompted. Now, you have full control over the remote computer.

Windows 7 Starting on Netbooks

The netbook is a relatively new phenomenon, but only in its popularity. The first 'netbooks' actually got their start in Europe in the late 20th century. In Japan they became popular, but not as popular as mobile Internet. In the US, it seems that it has only become widespread in the last three years.

Some saw it coming; if you were in the industry, you would have known for years as they kept popping up at computer shows and in the computer media. They are actually not a bad idea at all. If you travel a great deal for work, and most of that work is e-mail and web-portal related, owning one will really lighten up your carry-on. It can browse the web and is just like a smaller notebook PC.

(Even Apple is releasing one, which means you know there is money in producing them.) There are limitations, though, such as smaller amount of storage, no CD/DVD drive on most, and they can usually only run a few applications at a time due to their limited power. If you only need that e-mail access and some web work, though, this will satisfy you very well indeed.

Microsoft has released Windows 7 Starter for the purpose of netbooks. It is a significantly scaled down version of the Windows 7 operating system (OS). Much of the system is decent and the security is actually rather good, but is missing some very important features.

First and foremost missing from Windows 7 Starter is the ability to stream media through Remote Media Streaming. If you have a home PC and you want to link to it and play your various playlists from there, you cannot stream that data - you must download it to the local drive. So, it really comes as no surprise that Windows Media Player is also not there. Two huge hits already. It will even loose one of the nicer Windows 7 improvements - Aero is not in Starter. This means that you will have no Aero Glass, so only basic themes will be available, and no Aero Peek, so no Taskbar previews. And, you won't be able to change the Desktop background, the window colors, or the sound schemes anyway - that's gone. No multi-monitor support, no DVD playback, no Domain support, and no Windows XP Mode (of course, XP Mode requires a processor designed for it and plenty of memory - things a netbook might not possess).

Microsoft did remove the earlier three application limit, though, so you can now run as many applications as the hardware on the netbook will handle. This is not enough to make Starter a comparable OS to the other Windows 7 releases, though.

With all of those limitations, it will be hard to find a use for the Windows 7 Starter edition. It may be great for some field representative who only uses a couple of applications and does not need the other bells and whistles of a fully-functional OS. However, most of us would not want to buy a system that limited for our own use; we want something which can do everything. In that case, consider purchasing a netbook with Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows 7 Ultimate. According to Microsoft, even they do not feel that the Starter version of Windows 7 is the only netbook OS they produce. They recommend that you get the standard version of the OS if you want all of that functionality.

If you are looking for a netbook, make sure you get exactly what you need, and you will likely need more than what Windows 7 Starter has available. Get the full version of Windows 7 and you will be much more satisfied.

Versions of Windows 7

A Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) may cause Windows 7 Ultimate to shut down and restart unexpectedly. When a BSOD appears, any unsaved data is lost and the computer is restarted automatically.

This article will discuss about various methods to prevent and fix the Windows 7 Ultimate blue screen of death problem.

1. Check Memory Problems

2. Repair the Errors in Registry

3. Remove Unsupported Devices

4. Disconnect Failed Hardware

5. Disable the Antivirus Software

6. Restore the System

Check Memory Problems
Mostly the problems with your Random Access Memory (RAM) leads to BSOD. Windows 7 Ultimate comes with a tool called Windows Memory Diagnostic tool that helps you to detect and solve the problems with your memory.

1. Click Start button on the Taskbar.

2. Type Windows Memory Diagnostic in the Search box.

3. Locate it from the Search Results.

4. Click Restart now and check for problems (recommended) option.

5. The system shall restart now.

6. Follow the instructions on your screen.

Repair the Errors in the Registry

Invalid registry entries stored in Windows Registry may cause your operating system or the programs installed in PC to stop working altogether and display the BSOD error repeatedly. You will like to use a good registry fixing software to repair the errors in the system registry and easily fix Windows 7 Ultimate blue screen,

Remove Unsupported Devices

Windows 7 Ultimate has a tool called Device Manager that enables managing the devices connected to your computer. We will remove any unsupported devices from its list that we suspect causing the BSOD problem.

1. Click Start button on the Taskbar.

2. Type Device Manager in the Search box.

3. Locate it from the Search Results.

4. Expand all the categories, and check for those devices which have a cross mark before their names. Such devices are unsupported; any may be causing the Windows 7 Ultimate blue screen.

5. Right click such devices, and select Uninstall.

Disconnect the Failed Hardware

A recently connected or an existing faulty hardware may cause BSOD problem in Windows 7 Ultimate.

If you have connected a newly purchased hardware make sure it is compatible with Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit/64 bit edition. Hardware compatible with Windows 7 contains a printed text or pictorial message that it is Compatible with Windows 7. You may also find similar information in the user manuals.

If there is no such message disconnect it temporarily to verify if this hardware is causing your system to show blue screen error in Windows 7.

Disable the Antivirus Software

Try disabling the antivirus software running in the background. If the BSOD no longer appears contact the antivirus software manufacturer or start using another antivirus program in your system.

Restore the System

Restoring the system to an earlier state using System Restore may fix Windows 7 Ultimate blue screen of death (BSOD) error. The restore procedure will restore the state of Windows Registry to an earlier selected date.

1. Click Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | System Restore.

2. Select the option letting you restore the system to an earlier state.

3. Follow the instructions on your screen. A system reboot will require for continuing the task.

Highly Recommended

For fixing the BSOD problem, registry fixing is must. Without modifying and fixing the registry, no problem in computer is completely solved. That is why you need to use good, reputed registry cleaner software for this process so as to prevent uncertainties.

Windows 7 - Tips to Tackle With Common Issues of This Operating System

You have bought the latest offering from Microsoft, the much awaited operating system, Windows 7. It's fast, stable and has a lot of very cool new features. The new task bar is just great, it makes it real easy to switch between applications when you keep several open at once like I do. I have started to discover a few tips and tricks to help me get the most from Windows 7, and I thought I would share some of my favorites with you.

Problem Steps Recorder - Having no idea how to clearly describe what's going on when your computer acts up to your support guru is frustrating, but Microsoft is willing to help. Windows 7 includes an excellent new solution in the Problem Steps Recorder.

When any application starts misbehaving under Windows 7 then all you need to do is click Start, type PSR and press Enter, then click Start Record. Work through whatever you've been doing and Problem Steps Recorder will record every click and key press, take screen grabs, and package everything up into a single zipped MHTML file when they're finished, ready for emailing to your favorite geek. It's quick, easy and effective, and will save you and your geek hours of troubleshooting time.

Switch to a projector - Windows 7 now provides a standard way to switch your display from one monitor to another, or a projector. Just press Win+ and choose your preferred display. (This will have no effect if you've only one display connected.) Especially handy when using a laptop to give a presentation.

Right-click everything - At first glance Windows 7 bears a striking resemblance to Vista, but there's an easy way to begin spotting the differences - just right-click things. Right-click an empty part of the desktop, for instance, and you'll find a menu entry to set your screen resolution. No need to go browsing through the display settings any more. Right-click the Explorer icon on the task bar for speedy access to common system folders: Documents, Pictures, the Windows folder, and more.

Minimize quickly with shake - If you have multiple windows open on your desktop and things are getting too cluttered, it used to be a time-consuming process to close them all down. In Windows 7 you can use the Aero Shake feature to minimise everything in seconds, using a cool mouse gesture. Grab the title bar of the window you wish to keep open and give it a shake, and rejoice in a clear desktop area.

Jump Lists - Right click on a program icon on your task bar, and it displays not only an open this program and unpin command, but a list of the most recent files opened in the program. Select one and it opens the program with that file open in one click. No more File, Open, Browse! The jump list for IE displays a list of the most often visited sites so you can open them in one click as well.

Create folder favorites - If you're regularly working on the same folder in Explorer then select it in the right-hand page, right-click Favorites on the left-hand menu, and select Add to Favorites. It'll then appear at the bottom of the favorites list for easy one-click access later.

Libraries - Another method of quickly browsing to specific places in your file structure are libraries. By default, Windows 7 comes with a documents, music, pictures and video library. You can create your own (like customers) by right clicking the left pane where it says Libraries and selecting New -> Library. Once there, right click the new library and select properties, include a folder and click OK. You may also add multiple folders to a library as well as optimize it for certain file types.

Window management - you can "dock" a window to the left or right half of the screen by simply dragging it to the edge; similarly, you can drag the window to the top of the screen to maximize it, and double-click the window top / bottom border to maximize it vertically with the same horizontal width. This is invaluable if you frequently have 2 documents open side by side while working (like I do). These actions are also available with keyboard shortcuts:

Win+Left Arrow and Win+Right Arrow dock;
Win+Up Arrow and Win+Down Arrow maximizes and restores / minimizes;
Win+Shift+Up Arrow and Win+Shift+Down Arrow maximizes and restores the vertical size.

This side-by-side docking feature is particularly invaluable on wide screen monitors - it makes the old Windows way of shift-clicking on two items in the task bar and then using the context menu to arrange them feel really painful.

These are some of the tips I've found most useful so far on my Windows 7 adventure. What are some tips you've discovered? Are you looking for an easier way to do something? Let me know and I'll share them in a future article.
This is a common problem reported by Ultimate users. In this situation, computer restarts unexpectedly.

Below are outlined few steps to fix Windows 7 Ultimate Blue Screen of Death.

When there is problem with RAM of your system then it would lead you to BSOD regardless of Windows version. There is tool known as Windows Memory Diagnostic that helps you to detect and fix problems with memory.

1. Click on Start Button on the desktop.
2. In the search box type "Windows Memory Diagnostic" without quotes.
3. Find it form the search results.
4. Now click on "Restart now and check for problems" option.
5. Follow the instructions.

In many cases Window 7 Ultimate Blue Screen of Death appears on screen when there is problem in the registry of operating system. Information inside registry is stored in the form of keys/entries. When we uninstall any program from our computer then it leaves behind traces in registry. And when we install a new version or application then these invalid traces are overlapped with correct registry entries.
