You probably mean cords you need for connection: A (5-pin) DIN-MIDI cable is what you need as hardware.

There are multiple options for you to play the NS3 audio engines from the Electro:
a) Global MIDI will allow you to play on the Electro whatever you can also play on the NS3 -- match the Global MIDI channel of the NS3 with the MIDI channel of your Electro;
b) match Panel A or Panel B MIDI channel on the NS3 with your Electro's -- that way, you externally only control the engines active on that very panel; but they play from the NS3's keys as well;
c) use DualKB as a per-programme setting: That way, you can select for each single programme if you want to play either piano, organ or synth from Panel B externally or control full Panel B externally. To achieve that, you need to both match the DualKB channel on the NS3 with your Electro's and activate DualKB on that programme (on the NS3).

You may need to do some experiments concerning the controllers and pedals you can use from the NS3 or need to use externally. In short, there is a tendancy that you may need to use external controllers for version c) whereas the controllers connected to the NS3 may be good for method a) and b). Which is logical because only in method c) you fully transfer the control to the external keyboard.

I only use method c) because that way, you can independently play both keyboards at the same time via the NS3's sound engines.

I recently upgraded to the Nord Electro 6HP. My church has a Nord stage 3 with an amazing pad, but it's semi weighted. How do I use my Electro as a midi controller for the stage, and I'd like the sound to come out of the NS3 audio outputs. I'd like to know specific chords and settings I need to use. Thanks!

Having monitored the music market regarding Nord keyboards for several years, I’ve noticed that the new Nord Electro 7 is a bit of an outlier.

Since its launch at NAMM 2026, there hasn't been a single additional review or presentation videos on YouTube. It seems only three units were made available worldwide for the NAMM show in United States. There appear to be no other units available, especially here in Europe.

This is a significant departure from previous releases like the NS4, NP6, or NE6.

It’s possible pre-production units do not yet exist for premier reviews. The 61-key model will likely be available first since the hardware is ready. I’m sure adding the wheel and stick to the 73-key models requires some software enhancements in addition to the new machining, so they will take longer.

My Sweetwater rep told me they still anticipate July delivery for the 73 HP.

One possible reason to announce something well before it will become available is that inventory could be running low on the current product (i.e. Electro 6 in this case), but it is not viable to make more of them since they are already gearing up to manufacture the replacement. Another reason a company might "pre-announce" is if they are losing sales to competitive models and want to give buyers a reason to hold off on purchasing that other brand because they have something new coming.

I just got a new hammer action electro 6 and the g3 note is considerably louder than the others, even when hit softly. This is just a dust in the sensor issue right? How do I fix it? Much thanks!

Thankyou, i've tried different midi cables, and cleaning the 5 din midi in/out jacks.. no luck. Because the entire midi extern section on my Stage 3 has crapped out, it's going in for repairs. Damn.

If a mixer isn't an option, you may use a special cable to connect audio-out from the JV-2080 to the 1/8'' Audio-In (Aux-In) of the keyboard.

But this won't react to the volume knob of your digital piano.

A user was looking for a sample for their Nord Grand that would cover both a piano and bass on the low end. I took a different approach and provided Precision Bass samples created to be silent above designated notes intended to be used with any piano chosen. It's not clear what you're trying to do here.

The typical configuration would be to plug each device (Roland, Nord) into a small mixer, and from there to your amplifier.

I just purchased a Nord Piano 6, my first Nord keyboard. I LOVE playing it!

I also have an old Roland JV-2080 module that has over 1K patches that I can access via MIDI Out. The JV-2080 goes through a low-end Behringer mixer (Xenyx 204FX), then out to the speakers. Is there any way to easily access both the keyboard and the JV02080 without having to swap cables, given the limited number of audio outs on the Nord. I'm a bit of a novice on these connections, so any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I'd start by swapping/checking the MIDI cables (if you have some other gear to check with).
If all cables works properly, then maybe start with the Global settings in the MIDI menu.

I would start with an Init patch (Shift + Sound Init). Set the waveforms to saw, detune a little and start playing with filter envelope and type. Once you understand how the basic sound is you can start changing waveforms. Do Sound Init again and then just focus on the FM waves, see how they change when you modify Shape 1/2. Lastly start messing with the Osc Mod.

Work in sections rather than trying to do everything at once.

The beauty of the Wave is that it has a HUGE palette--it does analog as well has digital. So you just have to work out how the different aspects interact.

Hello Forum. Hope i am at the right place?
I have a Nord Wave 1 recently purchased, and am trying to set slot A to a sound and slot B to a different sound, but both slots are the same sound! Have read the manual over and over again, but am drawing a blank.
Has anybody any ideas please

Hopefully you figured this out by now but you hold down the slot whose program you want to change and then use the up/down buttons or wheel to select the program. The first option will be the other slot for the current program (so you can copy).

Hi guys.

So, first of all thanks for all the great programs here! Love it.
I´ve downloaded the NSMP and Sound Manager converted it to my Stage 4, everything is great.
Now I would love to be able to move some of the samples, since we are playing the song i D (-4 halvsteps).
It works, but more room for inversions would be good.
Also I´m wondering from a technical standpoing.

How would you go about fixing this? If I had the WAVs I could of course recreate it in Sample Editor, but there is no way to extract samples from an NSMP?

Hello, as you have a Stage 4, you would have quite a bit of flexibility using the NS4 synths/effects. "Believe" by Cher was created from two of my Stage 3 programs posted HERE. Nord Sound Manager will convert the NS3 programs to NS4 format and you can tweak the sounds from there. The sounds weren't complex so the synth conversion might nail it (not sure), but it's a good start.

Or maybe it's just the result of the world-economy I find that almost all prices of music-gear is slowly increasing.
The price of a Nord Stage 4 is now about 8-10% higher compared to when I bought mine in 2023. This is just about the same as the general price increase in the same period.
I do believe that the Nords tended to stay at the same price over a long period even when the prices raised in general, but that's not the case anymore.

A newer/better clavient sample would be a good thing, meanwhile an old trick to mimic the missing key-off part of the Nord Clavinet sample is to mix it to a Harpsicord Lute sample (kept at a reasonably lower volume and of course this is possible only on models that have 2 Piano sections)

Since I've been monitoring the market for a potential planned update, I've noticed that here in Europe the Nord Piano 6 is extremely price-stable.

As far as I can recall, this wasn't the case with the Nord Stage 4 or Nord Piano 5, where prices dropped noticeably even before the one-year mark.

Perhaps that is simply a sign that the Nord Piano 6 is selling very well.

Thank you for the second image. This looks much more familiar to me.

So, if it's on a key: It doesn't look like being able to create sensoric problems while playing. If ever this scratch had a sharp burr (doesn't look so), I'd sand it away. Nothing more.

No question, the NP5 is a nice instrument. But the keys won't be the most expensive part.

The key for the NP5 surely isn't expensive, but the installation—as far as I could see on YouTube—is quite time-consuming and requires some manual dexterity.

Is there actually a recommended shop for Clavia Nord spare parts in the German-speaking region?
