I found the organ engine on the NS4 "beefier" (more low end) than its NS3 predecessor.

Lack of low end on the organ (at least through its own sim) was a complaint about the NS3. I posted about it at viewtopic.php?p=164473#p164473 and I've seen youtube and facebook posts about it as well

Hi Folks. I've been using an Electro 6 for a few years. I agree - the organ percussion feature is absolutely terrible and unusable. I have a work around that is, well, just a workaround. I run the B3 organ with the percussion turned off, and instead dial in some EP8 Neferitti (from the piano section). Depending on the song, I sometimes transpose the EP8 down an octave. Again, just a workaround, but for me it helps get some percussive attack.
If you want to keep the NE6 for the rest of the sounds and just improve the B3 without spending big money, you may just get the VB3m app on a smartphone/tablet and connect it to NE6 via MIDI (USB) + Audio (Output of smartphone/tablet to Monitor IN of NE6)

Regarding a B3 Hammond app, I can highly recommend the B3-X app by IK Multimedia. Although it is a bit more expensive than others, the sound and the range of settings are very impressive.

The best way to check would be to use headphones, and not an external mixer and PA.

I found the organ engine on the NS4 "beefier" (more low end) than its NS3 predecessor. I'm using the internal sim as it sounds great, my Vent II never gets used anymore.

I'd suggest using the EQ section to get what you want.

I switched from the Nord Stage 3 to the Nord Stage 4. I’d like to ask if anyone has had a similar experience.

I’m using a Neo Ventilator 2, and after switching to the Stage 4, I feel like the organ sound through the Ventilator has much more bass compared to the Stage 3 (also through the Ventilator). The sound feels overly bass-heavy, even a bit intrusive, and it significantly overlaps with the bass guitar frequencies.

Has anyone else noticed something similar? If so, how did you solve it?
Would you recommend using EQ on the Stage 4 and simply reducing the bass? Or could I have something set incorrectly on the mixer?

A clean organ sound without the Leslie simulation should theoretically be the same on the Stage 4 as on the Stage 3.

Need some help please!!!!
I'm trying to use the individual channels of the Midi, but it's not receiving anything. I'm sure i've set it up correctly. Pad 1 is Channel 1, so on and so on. Then went to my DAW and made 6 channels. Made their source channels from 1-6. Yet I am still not receiving anything.
What to do? Please Help!!!!

Hello everyone,

I develop an Android app called Nordroid. It wants to be the Nord Sound Manager for Android. It has still a long way to go, but already is quite functional. Currently I'm focusing on getting more Nord devices supported. It already supports the Nord Stage 3 and the Nord Electro 6.

Since I do not own all Nord devices (and I don't even know how to play - I'm a drummer actually ) I need to base support on the factory restore images found on nordkeyboards.com, see what NSM does, and mimic that in my app. This works pretty well, but I'd like to verify with an actual device before claiming "this device is supported".

The current release of Nordroid has support for the Nord Electro 5. I am looking for Nord Electro 5 owners who want to help me by testing. You'll need:

An Android phone;
A USB cable to connect your phone to your Nord Electro 5;
A Google Play account

If you are interested, then please drop me a PM. I'll need the email address for your Google Play account. I put that email address on a list of testers, enabling you to download test versions of Nordroid.

Hope there is someone out there that wants to help

Hello, from your description of the issue it could be something related to power supply actually, I would start checking at that level rather than looking at an OS issue.

Hi!

I found in this forum one Nord Piano boot-problem, where the Piano did not boot at all. My problem is not that big but annoying. When I turn the power on, the operate system never starts at first time, the boot remains incomplete. Then I turn the power off and on again. Then the boot goes through and my Piano 2 starts.

This "feature" has been in this piano since new. The Operating System has upgraded. I think it was ver. 1.22.

Any ideas to fix this?

Just bought the Narfsounds essential covers pack. It has the talkbox sample there. Its works. The Narfsounds video shows somebody playing the whole piece so I thought the program would have all the other synth sounds, being demonstrated but it doesn't. I had to manually split and make those pad sounds.

Best solution is probably if someone samples some of the saxes out of a Yamaha board (Motif, Montage.)

Hello lovely people.

I've sampled my Akai MPC Key 37 and Korg MultiPoly for some pads. I didn't loop anything, but they're 12-15 seconds long, and they work well with a quick tweak on the attack/release. They're made from mixed multiple patches (ie the MPC Massive Pad is 7 different pads from different internal VSTs, the MPC strings are a mixture of individual instruments/quartet/orchestra). I'm using them mainly sat under pianos and using a pedal swell to bring them up for choruses etc.

I hope you find them useful.

For whatever it’s worth, I disassembled and relubricated both an Electro 3HP and Stage 2EX HP a few years back. Here’s more info:

A thorough lubrication did the trick, but I sold both instruments so I cannot tell you how they’ve held up. I will add that the key noise is not related at all to pieces breaking, just some stickiness due to the lubrication issues. The sound was only evident while playing in my quiet home - never heard noise on the gig.

Have the new Electro 7HP on order. It’s a completely different keyboard action, so I’m optimistic about an improved playing experience.

In another thread about HP keyboard I presented my video of NE3 HP keyboard. IMO in this condition it’s practically useless. This is not an faulty individual unit, I’ve seen / tested other old HPs. They are as bad as this. I certaily hope new NE7 HP is better what it comes to keyboard durability.

I upgraded to a Nord Electro 6HP, and the first think I noticed was how clicky and loud the keys were. Is there something I can do to quiet them down, or is this just a cheap Keybed? Are there keybeds I can buy to replace it? Thanks!

It is not a "cheap keybed". It's designed to be light.

It's the Hammer Portable action, and that's exactly what it's supposed to do -- a portable performance board (not a home instrument) so all the focus is on weight, making the action a bit on the lighter side.

You will never notice the keybed clacking when you're gigging.

You could sell it and go for another keyboard, but they all make some degree of keyboard noise when turned off.
