Great samples - I use the 888 NL mono for adding a synth-based bass pedal sound to my Nord Stage 3, while using the Organ engine on Layers A and B for upper and lower manual. Works excellent and sounds much better than any of the standard "mini bass" samples, also allows for a little key-click when using zero attack. Can apply a filter to adjust amount of 8' a little, unfortunately not for the 5 1/3. Put everything through a Ventilator to add leslie and tube.

My concern: organs usually fold back when playing really low notes on a larger keyboard, because the original Hammond and basspedal wouldn't allow for such deep notes, nor are there any tonewheels to support it.

So I was about to implement foldback with the sample editor, but BANG, no reverse engineering starting from .nsmp files (which I can understand).

So I am asking, if you could consider implementing foldback on this one sample, or, otherwise, open up the original sample editor project file to the community for further editing as an exception. Know, this is a copyright concern somehow...
Stefan
Statistics: Posted by swegenki — 31 minutes ago

Macsaint, I'm not sure you can address this, but this is my overriding concern when considering an Electro 7. I have been committed to a single board rig with as small a footprint and being as light as possible. The compromise I made was to play organ on the HA keybed, since I couldn’t deal with piano playing on the SW keybed. I have adjusted well and now think I play organ just fine on that. Do you think that the new Kawai action would make that task more difficult, easier or no difference on balance than the HA action does? Thanks!
Jeff
Statistics: Posted by jeffkeys — Today, 16:23

It is WONDERFUL. Fast, responsive, light but not too light.
I went to Winter NAMM 2026, and played the Electro 7 HP they had at The Nord booth. While it was lacking the mod wheel and pitch stick, it did have the final action in it. It feels, responds, and plays...EXACTLY like my Nord Grand 2, except that I would describe the HP action in the Electro 7 HP, as tighter... it doesn't wobble side to side as much as the one in the Grand 2. Otherwise, the texture of the keys, the weight, the ultra fast response, and every else about the action, feels identical to what is in the Grand 2. More than one Nord employee has stated that they have only used this action once before... and it isn't hard to piece together the rest. I fully agree with you that the HP (Fatar Tp/100) in the previous models, was a nightmare. Fatar themselves have replaced it with the Tp/110. I also really dislike the Fatar TP/40 H in the Piano series, and the Tp/40M in the Stage series. I've had nothing but trouble from them in every Nord I've owned - while I've had nothing but wonderful experiences with the SW actions, and at least since November 2025, the Grand 2.
Statistics: Posted by Macsaint777 — Today, 05:17

Well done, Nord.

I have not actually hooked up an extern synth, but I did study the manual and created some presets with EXTERN parts.

The EXTERN menu settings are saved on a per program basis and all 3 synth layers are set up there… which CCs the virtual knobs control, whether to send program change info, sustain, control, swell, volume, pitch bend, mod wheel data for each layer.

I zeroed out 2 layers, and set up the 3rd layer with some easy-to-recognize parameters that were different from layers 1 and 2, which were internal synth configs. I saved the 3rd layer as a preset, then loaded it back into layer 1. Now I had 2 identical layers set up to control an external synth with identical settings. Woot!

I am totally confident that I’ll be able to create tweaked SuperNatural Roland presets that will play on the Integra and re-use them in any program.

Now I just have to actually get an Integra… I was half hoping that there was a major obstacle that would prevent me from doing it : )
Statistics: Posted by lerber3 — Today, 00:30

From Electro 7 (73) specs:

► New HP model with Kawai Hammer Action
The Electro 7 HP model introduces a new lightweight triple sensor keybed developed in collaboration with Kawai. Carefully balanced for playability and portability, the new Kawai keybed delivers excellent responsiveness for acoustic and electric pianos.

_______

Any experience or ideas about the new Kawai HP action? I remember HP (Hammer Action Portable) action in NS3 76 and this was a nightmare. In a week it started to have noises and I traded this to NS3 compact. Since that time I have tested some instruments with HP action which have been played for years and those are horrible. Time hasn’t clearly treated them well. For comparison my NS3 with waterfall action is still quite good after years of heavy usage. So my question is that how good is this new Kawai developed HP? Of course we don’t have much to tell yet or do we?
Statistics: Posted by Ecaroh — Yesterday, 21:17

I have good "Flashdance" sample which I have used many times on stage. I use a Yamaha pedal to switch between two main sounds, and the board is basically split into two halves (from memory - Im on tour). It allows you to gently play the intro, move down an octave to support the vocals, then with the pedal pressed play the main chorus "synths treble wave riff" hits on the upper octaves each time needed, then back down again towards the power end (F & C chords and a bit of fiddling to mimic that part). If you have a pedal set up.

But... I have it on a Nord stage 4 and I have no ideal if you can use complex programs on previous models. If so, hunt for the basic Flashdance sound and try and set your nord 3 up as I did ... using the dyno / digital piano lower down.
Statistics: Posted by Wurliman69 — Yesterday, 19:33

Hey guys,
A few months ago I bought a brand new Nord Lead A1 and it immediately became the most favorite synth in my arsenal (and I own pieces like Prophet 6, Subsequent, or Montage M). I love it mainly because of its beautiful sound and ease of use. However, one thing is driving me crazy. Why on earth is it not possible to set the rate and amount separately in the modulation effects (especially Chorus)?! This makes the modulation effects almost unusable. When I want to set a higher value (amount) for the Chorus effect, the rate immediately increases to an unusable level and vice versa. The only thing (in a possible update) I wish the Clavia engineers would implement some shortcut (Shift + turn the knob) to set the Rate and Amount separately.
Statistics: Posted by maxxfree1 — Yesterday, 14:23

The compact fits perfectly and i made custom moss pads to cover the top of the boards in case of shocks as it's not a hard case. The edges and bottom of the case are much harder than the top. It got 2 big pockets, one at the front and one at the bottom, i always put my clothes in the bottom pockets and my pedals, RC505 and microphone on the top pocket.
I covered the 'KORG' name with tape so it doesn't attract the attention too much and is just a black case .

It's quite cheap : 180 euros for me in France

It's been 2 years since i'm using it to travel every months by train to meet my music friends. Havent any problem so far. I wouldn't use it to travel by plane though.
Statistics: Posted by Tony Fuzz — Yesterday, 10:22

This is great! I needed a clav and Wurlitzer split for playing Kid Charlemagne. I couldn't do it with the stock sounds on my Electro 6 because it doesn't let me split two different piano sounds. I know this Forum has for many years recommended the QSC K8.2 as one of the best ways to amplify Nord keyboards, thanks to cphollis' great blog! I have owned the K8.2 for many years. QSC has just come out with an internal battery powered ten inch portable PA speaker that has the same "QSC House Sound" (Clarity of High End) gig worthy build quality, and the great QSC 6 year warranty! Great headroom at 127dB! Hot swappable battery, Bluetooth, and a first for QSC, App control! Future Firmware updates will most likely improve the speaker further! CB10 stands for compact/battery/10 inch.
Made this video to introduce the speaker: iframe
Many players on the Acoustic Guitar Forum are picking this speaker as their new choice for clarity of tone and portability at 27 pounds. The ten inch woofer adds to the Full range sound compared to the eight inch K8.2. Other speakers I own, I can compare it to are the RCF TT515 and the RCF TT10, both MUCH more expensive alternatives!
Statistics: Posted by 57695769 — Yesterday, 03:00

I have a Nord Stage 3 Compact and have been using the Nord Soft Case HP for about six months now.
Like mentioned here already the HP case is officially listed for the Nord Electro HP. A local dealer mentioned that other customers have chosen the HP case for the Stage Compact models because of the larger front pocket. Many had told him that the fit has been good. That has been my experience as well.

For me the reason I went with the HP version rather than the standard soft case was also the larger front pocket. It fits my pedals (sustain and expression), cables and DI box comfortably, which I can really appreciate. I was initially going to get the one with the smaller pocket. I am glad my local dealer changed my mind

I also really like the shoulder straps.

I have used the large Nord soft case with wheels for my Stage 2 HA88 and now for Nord Piano 5 for over ten years. That has also held up quite well except for the wheels. The wheels have seen better days. A small rock got jammed in one of them and I dragged the case a few meters before noticing. This wore the wheel down on one side. It’s no longer round, so pulling it is slightly annoying now. It still works, but I only use the wheels indoors these days.
Statistics: Posted by elkami276 — 11 Mar 2026, 21:19

Hi and welcome to the forum,
Thanks for posting a video it helps illustrate the problem.

The LCD modules typically contain a Look Up Table (Read Only Memory) of the character set. Usually the LCD module contains a Roman Alphabet, and often Japanese (where the LCD module was made).

The controlling microprocessor sends messages similar to "Put Character #235 at position Row1 Column 1".

If the communication between the microprocessor and the LCD module get corrupted, you see garbage.

Your post said when you turn on the Rack 3 the screen displays correctly. I think this means both the processor and the LCD module work correctly.

I think there is another underlying issue that is corrupting the processor-LCD communication and causing the corrupted sound also. I suspect the power supply given the age of the Rack 3.

If you have experience diagnosing electronics issues, we could provide some further suggestions. Otherwise, I recommend locating a Nord repair facility.
Statistics: Posted by pterm — 11 Mar 2026, 16:18
