More than 3,600 feet deep, this is around ten miles long and also a mile wide and has beautiful walls which are covered with the best colours and create a greatly spectacular view. There are deep lines in the walls of the canyon which have the remains of earlier volcanic eruptions and also lava flows. This is a stunning sight and is also called the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. It was carved thousands of years ago by floods and rivers that have flowed from the tip of Mt. Waialeale’s.

Waimea Canyon is the biggest canyon in the region of the Pacific and is a breathtaking sight in this part of the world. The Koke’s State Park protects the canyon and spans an area of around 4345 acres of land and spans 45 miles of trails that cross the canyon and the nearby Alakai area. The Waimea Canyon Road is around 40 miles long and has no gas stations. Ensure that your vehicle is filled with gas. There are lot of restrooms in the main area of the park. The elevation here cools the air for around 10 to 15 degrees lesser than the valley and there are many areas that are covered with clouds.

The Waimea Canyon Drive is just the ideal place to visit in this part of the world and gives great sights of the gorge that overlooks it This is a photographer’s delight and gives best views of the valley of Kalalau in the early morning. There are many trails that are above the canyon and the trails here need a state permit for hiking. Koke’s Campground give a lot of camping facilities.

This is not as big as the Arizona canyon, but this geological wonder is a great sight in Hawaii and gives the best travel experiences in this part of the world. There is a great view of the Kauai’s dramatic landscapes within. The Kokee State Park is the final destination of this lovely canyon and there are many trails that help the seasoned biker and the beginner to get used to this place.

A perfect place to visit for any person who is interested in natural delights and trekking pleasures, the Waimea Canyon is a great place to visit in this part of the world.

Come to the United States of America and enjoy the pleasures of North American tour delights. Visit Pennsylvania and go back with the most memorable tour delights. Here in this beautiful region you would find the delights of a great land Longwood Gardens. Spanning over an area of around 1,077 acres this is an area filled with woodlands, gardens and meadows. Come to the Kennett Square here and bask in the pleasures of this beautiful region. this is certainly one of the most magnificent botanical gardens in the United States of America and is visited by tourists across the world. Enjoy the exotic plants and also the beauty of horticulture here. Experience the pleasures of both outdoor and indoor plants, and also enjoy the performances and events here. With greatly themed attractions this is a great way of enjoying the place and the workshops, courses and educational lectures add to the delight.

The present day Longwood Gardens was bought from George Pierce by William Penn sometime in the year 1700. It began as a working farm and then two brothers Samuel Pierce and Joshua planted the first arboretum here. It was initially called the Piece’s park and has been open to tourists since then. In the year 1850, some of the best collection of trees were grown here.

Then Pierre S. Du Pont who was an industrialist bought the land from the Pierce family sometime in the year 1906 so that the arboretum could be saved from being sold for the sake of lumber. Then this became the private estate of Pierre du Pont and till the year 1930 du Pont added a lot of area to the property. Du Pont was many a time inspired to add many features to the lovely garden and this was how the huge conservatory was added. There was a gigantic pipe organ and the fountains here are eye catching. Then du Pont kept his estate open for people to come and see for some days of the year. He is also said to have given private tours to the tourists.

Then the fountains got completed and Du Pont started planning for the continuous life of Longwood Gardens even after he died. He wrote a will where he stated that he discovered Longwood Gardens and left the entire estate for the improvement of the gardens. Suddenly Du Pont died and then the Longwood foundation announced that there would be policy change and the greenhouses and gardens would be opened to public throughout the week.

The Longwood Organ is an instrument with around 10,010 pipes and was designed by Firmin Swinnen who was a Longwood organist. Firmin Swinnen was a musician from Belgium who came to the US in the year 1916 and he became a great theatre organist in the city of new York. The pipes of the organs filled around 14 cars of railway freight and around 72 horsepower blower motor to give wind pressure. The Longwood Organ has had a restoration recently and got completed in the year 2011 in January.

Thus the Longwood Gardens is a beautiful area and has the ideal events for all tourists to enjoy and the most fascinating delights in this part of the world. During the Christmas festival there is a great light display which is a major attraction here.

The conservatory here is a great attraction and is a perfect greenhouse structure and is in fact one of the worlds greatest constructions. This has around 5.500 plants and as one explores the lovely indoor gardens here, the tourists gets enthralled by the sheer beauty. The main gardens of the conservatory are the Silver Garden, the Orangery, the orchid House, the Acacia passage, the Outdoor Water Garden Display, the Mediterranean Garden, and the Tropical Terrace.

With more than 900,000 visitors having visited this land there are more plans for expansion and growth here and thus this beautiful paradise is a perfect place with the ideal tour delights and the most enchanting travel attraction.

When you are in Texas you are sure to get the best kinds of museums that are a mainstay of sites to be visited here. The Permian Basin Petroleum Museum is one such place that has the best sights. Founded in the year 1975, the museum was constructed to convey the impact of energy and petroleum in our life. The Museum has the best portrayal of the story of the entire industry and has shown how the rugged men and women existed here when they settled in the Permian Basin.

The visits to the Petroleum give a chance to experience how science could be fun and gives us a vivid idea of how we can get to understand science and technology better. There has been lot of progress from the time when the dinosaurs lived to the time the Permian Basin brought about the oil boom in the western part of Texas.

What once started as a dream for the people in the year 1957 has become the largest museum in the nation that is dedicated to the entire industry of petroleum and the related pioneers. The Petroleum Musuem has had many visitors all across the world. and has a great impact on the life of the people. It also has interactive exhibits, the Petroleum Hall of Fame, and the Archives Centre. There are educational programs that are specially designed with the concept of science in mind and these programs are also highlighted in the community events like the Lunch and Lectures, Family Science Night, Summer Day Camps, a Puppet Show, Scout Camp and summer movie camps. With so much to learn the Permian Basin Museum has a lot of things to learn and is a never ending storehouse of knowledge and learning

In the year 2004, the Permian Basin Museum had a transportation wing added to it and this housed the Chaparral Gallery which gives the Museum a chance to tell the story of the dependence of surface transportation on petroleum and also tells us the history of the Chaparral Road Racers.

The Chaparral Car displays show the exhibits that are part of the applications of engineering sciences and also aerodynamics and mechanical engineering which are a mainstay here. The Chaparral team mastered the discipline to build and design the race cars that also help to revolutionize the motor sports.

Thus the visit to the Petroleum Museum is a fascinating journey through more than 230 million years of historical achievements. Situated in the middle of Permian Basin this museum has more than 32,000 square feet of great education and also entertainment for the exciting activities of all ages.

The Permian Basin Petroleum Museum is a great place to go to in Midland Texas in the United States of America and has exhibits which showcase the oil and gas industry of the Permian Basin in the western part of Texas and also in the southeastern part of New Mexico. The Museum thus has the geology of the area that existed in the Permian period and also showcases some racing cars that were the brainchild of Jim Hall and some Tom Lovell Paintings.

Founded specially for housing collections and exhibits the Permian Basin Petroleum Museum has great resources to showcase the best of unique exhibits and helps the visitor to understand how oil and gas has its historical and geological aspects on earth and how the petroleum also has a direct impact on the life of human beings on a regular basis.

The museum is open to all the visitors all days in the week and also has a research library which has a lot of donated material that is linked to the Permian Basin history, thus through many displays of great works and immersive environments, interactive, theatrical experiences, and thus provides a great way of ensuring that people are given a perfect idea of the way petroleum and gas have their impact on life.

In the year 1922, Paul Cret an architect designed a beautiful combination of two buildings on a land that belonged to Barnes a veteran of the American civil War and Captain Joseph Lapsley Wilson a horticulturist. This building has some of the best bas reliefs that were commissioned by the Barnes. He did it from Jacques Lipchitz a great sculptor. It was Laura Barnes who developed the entire area and she started it with some paintings of Wilson and today there are in the Arboretum of the Barne’s Foundation.

In the year 1912, Barnes started focusing his life towards pursuing arts. First he was helped by William Glackens the painter who was his friend from school. Barnes’ got a lot of fortune from this. In the Year 1912, Barnes went to visit Gertrde and Leo Stein and here he got introduced to art forms of the modern artists like Pabloc Picasso and Henri Matisse.

Then in the year 1920, he got in touch with workmanship of Girogio de Chirico and Amedeo with the help of Paul Guillaume the merchant. Barnes then started to change his entire collection into an institution of culture. It was in this year that he recognized Barnes Foundation as an educational institution in the Pennsylvania state. Construction started in this complex in Merion. After this there was a dispute that then had to be solved in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

The Barnes Gallery is a lovely monument which was built on the grounds where lies the arbotretum of Captain Joseph Lapsley Wilson. This was established around in the year 1880. Barnes constructed his house adjacent to the gallery. Today it is a building for administration. The horticulture program and arboretum are a part of the foundation.

This is the largest collection in the entire world and this is inclusive of around 181 paintings all of them works of Pierre Auguste Renoir . Then there are around 69 paintings of Paul Cezanne. Then you have 59 paintings by Henri Matisse. See around 46 paintings by Pablo Picasso, around 18 by Henri Rousseau. Then you have 16 by Amedeo Modigliani and then 11 by Edgar Degas, and 7 by Vincent Van Gogh. See the 6 paintings by Georges Seurat. There is a work of Matisse which was created for the main gallery space and here the triptych is seen above Palladian windows.

Then you can also see the collection which holds many other masters which are inclusive of Giorgio de Chirico, Titian, Peter Paul Rubens, Francisco Goya, Jean Hugo, Eduardo Magnet, Maurice, Claude Monet, William Glackens, Maurice prenderfast, Charles Demuth. There are many works of African origin along with decorative arts and also lot of metalwork. There is an art collection that is in display in the wall ensembles. There are great combination works which come from different time periods and also geographic regions and the styles are of great study and comparison.

Barnes has collaborated with John Dewey who is a philosopher which has influence the development of the original program of the foundation. This is basically a school that has a typical museum.

Barnes created a lot of identity to the institution by detailing terms of how to operate it, and said that it had to be honored after his death. Amongst the many terms that he put in, there were terms where public admission twice a week, was one of them. This was implemented so that the school was able to use the art collection mainly for the purpose of student study. It was also prohibited to lend works in the collections. There were many such terms for the institution which are being followed even now.

Today however the public has access to the Barne’s Foundation collections after a lot of legal battles. Public access is now two and a half days a week. There are around 500 visitors per week and this is done through reservations.

The Washington Metro Red Line serves this Dupont Circle at the Dupont Circle Metro Station. The north of the circle has an entrance and the southern end has another entrance at 19th Street NW.

It was not developed in the earlier times and remained undeveloped till the American Civil War, when the place saw a lot of new residents coming here. This place was initially a slaughterhouse and brickyard. In those times Slash Run was a creek that ran through this place, from the 16th Street near Adams Morgan, to Kalorama and then a little near Dupont Circle. The creek has been covered in a sewer line today and many renovations later today, the place has been converted into a greatly fashionable neighbourhood.

During the year 1871, the traffic circle underwent a lot of construction work done by the Army corps of Engineers and then it was known by the name of the Pacific Circle. Then it was in the year 1882, on February 25, that the circle was renamed as the “Dupont Circle” by the Congress. They also authorized a statue of the Samuel Francis Du Pont in memory. Du Pont was a Rear Admiral in the Civil War and this stature is a lovely construction of Launt Thompson and was erected in the year 1884. With a lovely landscape the circle was totally fascinating with the most ornamental trees and the most beautiful exotic flowers. Earlier there was the stature and sometime in the year 1921the fountain replaced the stature. Today this fountain with its double tier is very beautiful and then this was shifted to the Rockford Park which is in Wilmington. The fountain was designed by Daniel Chester French and Henry Bacon. The fountain has the carvings of the three classical figures which symbolized the wind, the stars and the sea on the shaft of the fountain.

Connecticut Avenue is also a great place to be in in Washington DC and this place had many townhouses and mansions built in this area sometime between the 1870s and the 1880s. The British built a new embassy on the Connecticut Avenue which had many shops then. There are many residences like the Senator Philetus Sawyer’s mansion at Connecticut which were brought down, so that building for office and ships could be built. In the year 1933, Connecticut Avenue had more commercial buildings and soon the place became a great commercial hub. There were sandboxes that were added in the year 1933 but these were removed many years later.

In the year 1920s Connecticut Avenue was widened and the traffic increased here which used to create a lot of congestion thus making it difficult for the pedestrians to walk around. So there were medians that were introduced in the year 1948 in this circle so that there were separate the traffic in the Massachusetts Avenue. There was a streetcar station that was built below the circle as a part of the Capital Transit project. Today this project is non existent. There were tunnels that permitted the vehicles and trams travelling on the Connecticut Avenue to pass more easily past the circle.

Dupont Circle also has the farmer’s Market that takes place on all Sunday mornings, and thus is a greatly enchanting place in Washington DC.
