The MINI Cooper S engine utilizes a turbocharger to pressurize the intake tract to force feed the engine air to produce power. As such, NM Engineering has identified a weak point that impairs the efficiency of this system.

The NM Engineering Hi-Flow Charge Pipe replaces the factory necked-down hose between the intercooler and throttle body (cold-side) with a new CNC mandrel bent pipe and silicone couplers that will not expand under boost. The system eliminates OEM sound chamber which, in result, helps to increase turbo response as well as mid-range and top-end power.

VF-Engineering chose to supercharge the Audi S4 to improve throttle response and mid-to-top end power with a roots type Eaton MP90 supercharger. Maintaining the the original Audi quality, smoothness and reliability were the key factors in the VF design. This is where the GIAC software comes into full play. VF have harnessed reliability of Eaton superchargers and quality of GIAC custom software with their 10 years of supercharging experience and worldwide OEM supply contacts to create the ultimate supercharger system for the ultimate driver's car.

All key components are 100% made in California. This system has been fully road tested and dyno tuned on GIAC's Mustang MD500AWD. The Audi S4 supercharger kit is setup at 5.0 psi and create as much, if not more power than similar products running greater levels of boost.

VF engineers spent over 12 months testing and developing the Audi S4 supercharger kit. Software flash technology and latest Audi file versions have all been employed to provide the cleanest and most reliable method of software installation. GIAC engineers extensively re-wrote the ECU software using their own binary, assembly and disassembly algorithms written from scratch. Testing the software included extensive road and dyno test cycles, with acceleration and deceleration tests for driveability smoothness and ECU fuel management. One of the interesting features of the software recalibration we provide, is the development of software "switching". Using a small handheld unit that the user can plug into the OBD2 port, the software can be switched on the fly through different modes such as "Race gas" higher timing program for when you fill up with high octane, or "Valet mode" to reduce power for obvious reasons or "Kill mode" to lock the ECU. The GIAC software is electronically "flashed" into the ECUs through the OBD2 port with the optional modes. Our S4 supercharger system will included the fully loaded GIAC features. All test cars were put through long term full throttle testing in conditions varying from wet cold climates to hot dry Arizona desert temperature for safe-optimal air fuel ratios and knock activity monitoring. Competently-written ECU software has allowed VF to fully explore the potential of the Audi S4 engine, making over 40% more power in most applications.

VF chose to mount the Eaton MP90 supercharger with an in-house CNC machined aluminum bracket system. Our approach to the supercharger development is quite unique when it comes to design and production style. The unit is positioned in line with the original serpentine belt which is replaced with a longer OEM belt. The key to this design is that the OEM active-spring belt tensioner remains fully functional and eliminates belt slip or the need to manually tension the belt. The supercharger air ducts are custom molded in-house from plastic to give an OEM appearance, quality and fit. The incorporated Bosch boost overrun system is designed for smooth off-throttle cruising and deceleration with clean emmissions. The crankcase ventillation sytem is designed to cope with positive pressure and high flow OEM injectors are supplied to fit as direct replacements without modification to the injector rail.  The VF supercharger system remains fully OBD2 compliant and is supported by a 1 year unlimited mileage warranty on the product only.

To keep the air charge cool, the HyperFlow is sealed in place with a custom heatshield with integrated flow director. When you close the hood, your intake is in it's own world. HyperFlow uses the factory intake routing and slams it into the cone filter with a custom flow director. All of our development has been done on a Mustang AWD dyno locally. The HyperFlow picks up 8hp peak and brings you more horsepower sooner and for longer. HyperFlow also gains 4 lb-ft of torque but that gain holds on for thousands of RPMS giving you the edge. Every internal combustion engine has pressure and blow-by gases in the crankcase and valve cover. Some engines do a better job of separating the oil vapors before reaching the PCV(positive crankcase ventilation) vents than others. Most engines don’t,sending a nasty mix of oil vapor and waste gases out the PCV vent and into the intake system. These vapors smother important (and costly)sensors with oil and gunk. In extreme cases, this gunk can build up on the valves killing performance. On a micro level, oil vapors displace oxygen molecules altering air-fuel ratios and effectively lower the octane level of your fuel.

The concept is simple – trap the oil vapors in the PCV system before they have the opportunity to reach the air intake. It takes more than an empty can and some tubing to achieve this task. From the start, our oil catch cans are designed to pick up where others leave off. Our inlet and outlet fittings are made from ¾” tubing, the same basic size as the OEM PCV fittings and hoses. Larger inlet and outlet fittings allow for uninterrupted flow from the PCV vent to the can and back. Tubing smaller than stock will restrict the PCV vent and the flow of vapors. As PCV gases enter our catch can they disperse and turn upwards, forced to flow through a series of four filter screens. As the gases flow through these screens, heavy oil and gunk sticks and lighter gases reach the outlet tube at the top. Accumulated oil and gunk naturally runs off the filter screens and collect at the bottom ofthe tank. Without these screens, only a fraction of the liquids are trapped by the catch can. A bottom drain allows the tank to be drained without removing the entire catch can.

Tubing can be removed and re-installed from the fittings without ever damaging them. The o-rings provided are designed to stand up to oil and heat and may never need replacement. The entire catch can is built with precision from heavy duty materials proven to stand the test of time. We can't call it bulletproof (who shoots a catch can?) but we do call it ultimate.
