Thank you for your enthusiastic support leading up to the launch, from your ideas, participating in the online prayer gathering and Thursday’s final test, your constant encouragement and so much more. It’s been amazing.

Thank you for being willing to talk about North Point Online on Facebook, Twitter, blogs and even the old-fashioned way – in person. Your willingness to partner with us to reach friends around the world is our only ‘marketing’ strategy. (Our marketing budget is ZERO. As it should be.)

Thank you for seeing this as “your” online community, not ours. We sincerely want to partner with you and create an environment that you can leverage to lead your friends and community into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

So, before we get started, I just want to say thanks.

Thanks for all your support, encouragement, and prayers over the last few months as we’ve gotten ourselves ready for August 16th (3 days away…!).

We’d love for you to help us one last final “tech test” today at 2:00pm EST. Scott and I will be hanging out @ Buckhead sharing with you some of our thoughts as well as leading some conversations about this coming Sunday.

We would love for you to be there! We’ll be giving away some cool prizes for those that can stick around and help us “stress test” the system.

Mark your calendars: Next week In two weeks we’ll be having a North Point Online UnConference @ Buckhead Church, 7:00pm.

For those that are unfamiliar with what an “unconference” is, it’s essentially a gathering of like-minded individuals that come together to share and discuss shared interests and passions. It’s loosely facilitated and very user and participant-driven. It’s like a “conference” but not really, very laid back with an atmosphere that is best described as simply fun.

We’re going to be having some great conversations about online church, connection, strategy, web tools and more!

Carlos Whittaker (@loswhit), myself (@Human3rror), and Scott Mawdesley (@Scottim) will all be there to lead creative collaboration sessions and discussions.

We hope you can make it! Bring your laptop, save some room for coffee, and bring an appetite to share your wisdom and experience for our new Online Campus!

All of those things are good things. In fact, they are great things. But, they should be done in moderation and in balance.

How are you balancing your work/life/ministry online? Are you taking the necessary breaks? Do you have people in your life who are not only able but who you’ve invited to “gut-check” you on your life online?

Here’s what you can expect:

• We will gather here at www.northpointonline.tv for a 30-minute dialogue and a time of prayer.

• During this time, Andy and I will discuss the mission and vision of North Point Online.

• We will release our second promotional video in order to partner with you to get the word out about our August 16th launch date.

• Andy will discuss the series “Losing Your Religion” which will be the one that starts on August 16.

• We will also spend some time praying together through a live chat feature that will allow you to send the names or initials of those who you will invite to North Point Online.

We hope you’ll join us from 8:00 – 8:30 pm EST as we begin our journey together with North Point Online.

I also learned a lot of principles that I found, over time and through experience, really are very true. One example is Gall’s Law, which states:

“A complex system that works is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that worked.”

You may have noticed that we’re taking this approach quite literally in terms of how we develop our Online Experience; we’re going to start simple and build from there, making sure that our core experience works and performs well and optimally.

You see, we can always add more features, functionalities, and as a result, complexity, but let’s not start there!
