<p align="center">1<sup>st</sup> Annual University of Maryland Extension and Maryland Chapter of NeHA Hops Conference &#8211; March 9,2013.</p>
<p align="center">Frederick, Maryland.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;" align="center">The Maryland Chapter of NeHA is accepting registrations for its first annual hops conference.  If you missed the NY Conference, this might be a good chance for you to catch some of the speakers including NYS Hops Specialist, Steve Miller, Cornell Extension IPM Specialist Tim Weigle, and Brad Humbert and Chris Callahan of the UVM hops program.  Limited seating, so register early.   The event plans include networking at the Flying Dog Brewery and the Barley and Hops Restaurant and Brewery on Friday evening, March 8.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Cornell University will again offer a full day short course on Brewing Science &amp; Technology at the Geneva Experiment Station on Friday, March 8, 2013. This will be entirely presented by Prof. Karl Siebert, who spent over 18 years in the brewing industry and who has received multiple awards from brewing organizations.</p>
<p>This short course will cover barley, malt, hops, brewing water, adjuncts, brewhouse operations, brewing yeast and brewery fermentations, maturation, finishing and beer styles.</p>
<p>The short course will cost $100, which includes meals and handouts.<br />

<p>This highly rated course was presented twice in 2012. The largest venue at the Geneva campus can accommodate 80 people in classroom style seating.
