YMT leader Blake Steward continued with the second sermon in a series looking at discipleship. During his sermon he pointed out how we can grow as a youth group by inviting others along. How great would it be to grow our youth to over 100? Let’s get started.

It is so easy to go along with the crowd whether it is something good or bad that they are doing. As followers of Christ however, we are called to stand out from the crowd with how we act and react to others. Through our Christ like actions we can provide a witness to our family, friends and strangers and who knows what opportunities may arise?

<itunes:summary>YMT leader Blake Steward continued with the second sermon in a series looking at discipleship. During his sermon he pointed out how we can grow as a youth group by inviting others along. How great would it be to grow our youth to over 100? Let's get started.

It is so easy to go along with the crowd whether it is something good or bad that they are doing. As followers of Christ however, we are called to stand out from the crowd with how we act and react to others. Through our Christ like actions we can provide a witness to our family, friends and strangers and who knows what opportunities may arise?

The passage looked at tonight by Christian Aguilera and special guest Ben Margel was 1 Corinthians 15:1-11.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 outline four facts that we could share from the gospel and tell an interested friend.

The Bible contains many laws and traditions in the Old Testament, the most important of these is the ten com-mandments set down by God that all must follow. Some of these are common sense like don’t murder, but others hold greater weight on how we should live, so which of all the laws should be the greatest?

“The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbour as your-self.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” – Mark 12:29-31

<itunes:summary>Northreach Youth and Young Adults Pastor Christian Aguilera Spoke from Mark 12:28-34, part 7 of our series looking at the gospel of Mark.

The Bible contains many laws and traditions in the Old Testament, the most important of these is the ten com-mandments set down by God that all must follow. Some of these are common sense like don’t murder, but others hold greater weight on how we should live, so which of all the laws should be the greatest?

"The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: 'Love your neighbour as your-self.' There is no commandment greater than these." - Mark 12:29-31</itunes:summary>

The second message in a series looking at the book of Mark which is located in the New Testament. The passage looked at tonight by Youth Management Team member Mike Courtney was Mark 4:1-20.

The passage is a parable that Jesus told to a large crowd of people from a boat out on the lake. A parable is close to a story but is more like an obscure story that has a message behind it.

Mark 4:9 reads , ‘Then Jesus said, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”‘

“Don’t you understand this parable? How then will you understand any parable? The farmer sows the word. Some people are like seed along the path, where the word is sown. But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. Still others, like seed sown among thorns, hear the word; but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful. Others, like seed sown on good soil, hear the word, accept it, and produce a crop—thirty, sixty or even a hundred times what was sown.“ – Mark 4:13-20.
