SOKOTO GOVERNMENT COMMENDED FOR ACCESSING UBEC INTERVENTION FUND

The commendation was made by the national programme coordinator Better education service delivery for All BESDA professor Gidado Tahir when he paid courtesy visit to sokoto state Governor Rt hon Aminu waziri Tambuwal at government house sokoto.

Professor Tahir also praised sokoto government for it's commitment to the development of education in the state and hoped the tempo would be sustained

He said that 17 States are currently participating in the programme in the country out of which seven are in the Northwest zone.that are severely affected by the problem of out of schools children.

He further explained that in an effort to support the States afflicted by the problem Federal government has secured a loan of $611millio dollars from the world bank to be distributed to the participating States as Grant.

The national programme coordinator while expressing confidence of the programme's success in sokoto state urged the Governor to monitor the BESDA activities which has time frame.

Responding Governor Aminu waziri Tambuwal assured the state government support and encouragement to the programme with a view to improving both the numeracy and quality of education in the state

Tambuwal explained that in its stride to boost education in the state government declared state of emergency in the sector, enact right to education bill and established female education board

The Governor pointed out that education which is the best legacy a leader could bequeathed to present and future generations would continue to be accorded top priority in the state.

We are lucky to have this Government at this very moment where many things are in bad shape in Zamfara State. Previous government promised to empower women in the areas of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) which till the last day of that government, this promise became Ali Baba story. In every election, women participate actively by partaking in all the election campaigns and struggle. But surprisingly, after the election is over, they are been dumped till another election period. By the way, We must thank God for this New committed government with good direction, both the governor and first lady are working very hard to put things in place, to take Zamfara to a promised Land, to take Zamfara state to a tarred road. To meet up with our motto (Farming is our pride) At this juncture, I did like to complement the effort put in place by the First Lady to take our women out of poverty. Channeling her mindset towards women empowerment, girl child education which will lead to poverty reduction among women. This is a welcome development as our women will Insha Allah smile again. May God give His Excellency and Her Excellency ability to deliver these aforementioned responsibilities. God bless Zamfara State God bless our people.

The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal holding in sokoto state has commenced Pre-hearing of the petition filed before it by governorship candidate of APC against Governor Aminu waziri Tambuwal and independent National Electoral Commission today. Governor Aminu waziri Tambuwal as the second respondent has personally attended the pre-hearing as a mark of honour to the court. During the court proceeding,chairman of the Tribunal justice, Abbas Abdullahi appealed to counsels to all concerned parties to abide by the rules and regulations guiding the tribunal for speedy passage of the judgement within setipulated time of 180 days. Counsels to the petitioner,first and second respondents have unamimously adopted the prayer by working closely to ensure successful deliberation. Later, counsel to the petitioner moved a prayer seeking for adjournment of the sitting to twentieth of this month to enable them gather some reliable materials. The newly elected speaker of the state house of Assembly Rt hon.Aminu mohammed Achida gave the assurance when he led members on courtesy visit to Governor Aminu waziri Tambuwal at government house sokoto. The speaker on behalf of the members thanked Governor Tambuwal for the support and assistance he has been rendering to the legislature in the state Hon.Aminu Achida while praising the peaceful conduct of the election that led to their emergence as leaders of the nineth Assembly further assured that interest of the state would be upper most in the performance of their legislative duties. Hon Aminu Achida how ever stressed the need for collaborative efforts between the two arms of government with a view to further uplifting the state to the highest level. Receiving the speaker and members of the house Governor Aminu waziri Tambuwal congratulated the speaker and entire members on their election and wished them successful tenure in office. Tambuwal also assured the entire 30 members of the house that they would be carried along with out any discrimination on the basis of party affiliation. He therefore reminded them as elected representatives of their various constuancies they are expected to work assiduously for the progress and development of the state. SOKOTO ASSEMBLY LEADERSHIP: PDP'S POLITICAL SAVVY By Aeesha Maina SSA Media The election of the leadership of the Sokoto State House of Assembly is over and once again, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has led his party, the PDP to another victory, snatched from the opposition APC, in spite of their slim majority in the ninth chamber. The PDP made the best of a disadvantage by thinking out the book and nominating an APC legistlator, Aminu Manya Achida, representing Wurno Constituency, instead of their party member. Aminu Manya was nominated by PDP members, Ibrahim Arzika Sarki (Sokoto North ll) and Faruk Mustapha Balle (Gudu). That move split the APC vote against the APC sponsored candidate, backed by the party's leader in the State, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, who was priming the APC legistors for confrontation against the PDP led government of Aminu Waziri Tambuwal. After the vote, PDP nominated, Aminu Manya of APC beat APC backed Abdullahi Garba Sidi (Gada South) by 16 to 14 to emerge Speaker of the ninth assembly of Sokoto State. Part of the historic compromise is the election of PDP's Abubakar Magaji (Bodinga Constituency) as Deputy Speaker. He won by a bigger margin of 16 to 12 votes against his APC opponent. That means two APC members abstained from voting for their own candidate. The PDP had porched two APC votes to achieve the feat, producing a result that once again, showed the superior political thinking of PDP leader, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, against Senator Wamakko's basic tactics. Governor Tambuwal's years in the National Assembly have come to bear in all this. His tenure as Speaker, which was marked by cross partisan compromise has been reenacted in the ninth assembly of Sokoto State. Sokoto State is poised to experience the politics of compromise and understanding for the common good of the people, instead of the tumultuous times that the APC leadership insists on imposing on the state. Another nail has been hammered in the coffin of godfather politics in Sokoto State.

Abubakar Matawallen Maradun has shown activeness and willingliness to bring an end to the security crisis in the state. Reports reaching me On Sallah day has it that bandits went ahead to cause havoc in Kanoma town just some few kilometer away from the Sokoto Zamfara Federal highway as a reprisal to an attack to one of its members by the peaceful community. As the reports reached the ears of the governor celebrating far away at the state capital the governor swung into action immediately to which he arrives some few minutes after the bandits left; in efforts to communicate seriousness and intolerant towards such the governor immediately ordered for the sack of a first class emir and the district head and ordered for investigations to begin immediately from the spot, He also visited all injured persons at town PHC clinic and ordered for the evacuation of all wounded persons to the state capital. The governor recieved complaints from the residence who lamented the bad road linking Ruwan-Doruwa, Kanoma to the highway were in pretty bad situation and thus bandits take advantage of the bad roads and he ordered for immediate construction of the road and to be completed as fast as possible; workers have been mobilized to the site already. As part of its effort to create employment opportunities among the teeming youth and less previleged,the state government has assured to partner with local and foreign investers to invest in different skills acquisition programmes in the various training centers across the state.

This was disclosed by the State Acting Governor, Barrister Mahadi Aliyu Muhammad Gusau, when he paid an inspection visit to Dr.Kabir Dan Baba Skills Acquisition Training Center, Unguwar Zabarma,Gusau under construction.

The Acting Governor commend the officials of Gusau Emirate Council for initiating the idea of translating the Gusau Old Prison to Skills acquisition center. He also appreciate the contributions of some notable personalities in developing the existing structures of the center.

Barrister Mahadi said the state government will provide electrical transformer to adquatly enhance power supply to the center.

Earlier speaking, the chairman of the commitee for the center Alhaji Sarkin Pawa Malami, who was represented by the Vice Chairman, Archtech Abubakar Abdu Gusau, briefed the Acting Governor on the history of the center.

Arc A A Gusau lauded the state government intervention for the compilation of the uncompleted structures of the center including the conference hall which has the capacity of accomadating three to five hundred People at a time.

It was quite unfortunate that during the previous government, number of challenges were created and fuelled to the extent that it takes Zamfara state down to it knees.

Zamfara State became a center HUB for all set of criminal activities, poverty became a unique culture within people, youth became used to staying idle et cetera.

The new Zamfara State Governor has come to work with zeal towards turning the state to it lost glory and beyond, he is actually a game changer because his system of leadership is entirely different from that of previous government.

Firstly, He is highly committed and ready to tackle the challenges facing Zamfara today, ranging from insecurity, unemployment, poverty and so on. His level of passion for good governance must be applauded as he have no resting time even on weekends untill people begin to smile again.

Secondly, H. E. Dr Bello M. Matawalle (MON) is good at decision making in the interest of Zamfara State people, His decision to suspend a traditional ruler in relation to arm banditry is a good example that his decision making are for good. Top decision must be taken at certain level in order to do what is right for the governed.

Thirdly, his major aim is to get Zamfara working again by freeing it from a bondage of uncertainty, his recent meetings held with Inspector General of Police and President Buhari is in the interest of all, all we have to do is to complement his effort.

One major driven quality is his passion to become a home based Governor. He travels only occasionally and for the betterment of all. H. E. Believe that he is a supervisor of all affairs in the state and must be around to see how things are going.

Considering the economic potentials of the state, Zamfara is a state bless with abundant agricultural resources. There are Large number of farmlands for cultivation but the socio economic activities began to be married due to poor governance and insecurity situation. The Governor in this aspect promised to revive the state owned fertilizer company to help farmers have easy access to cheap fertilizer produced by the state.

Let us give him our support to build new Zamfara State, very accommodative so that we can farm, rear our cattles and perform business activities at ease.

Sokoto state Governor Rt Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal was among dignitaries that Sunday attended the funeral prayer for the 25 people killed in a fresh bandits Attack in four villages of Ghandi District in Rabah Local government.The bandits killed the innocent persons inTsage,Rakonni, Kalhu and Gee're villages yesterday.

The deceased persons were buried in the Ghandi town cemetery

Condoling the families,people of Rabah Local government and the state as a whole at the palace of District head of Ghandi Governor Aminu waziri Tambuwal prayed Allah to forgive the deceased persons all their mistakes.

Tambuwal appealed to the security Agencies to redouble efforts towards containing the menace.

The Governor pointed out that though based on the constitution provision of security is the responsibility of the Federal government,state would continue to support security Agencies in the discharge of their duties

Tambuwal praised Ghandi community for being their brothers keepers and urged them to continue with the good job of providing accomodation to the internally displaced persons.

He therefore directed the state zakkat and endowment commission,Isa and Sabon Birni Local governments to come to the aid of the internally displaced persons.Governor Tambuwal prayed Allah to continue to safeguard the state and country at large.

Briefing newsmen on the gruesome incident in Ghandi town the state commissioner of police Alh .Ibrahim Sani Kaoje said four suspects including a woman who claimed to be mad have been arrested.

The police commissioner however assured that they are ontop of the situation.

In 2015 after Senator Wamakko singlehandedly brought AWT to power against the popular wish of the masses, Gov Tambuwal included Mahadi (Wamakko's son) in the list of his commissioners in more of a compensative effort, but Wamakko's altruism made him to outrightly rejected the offer not because Mahadi wasn't fit for such an appointment but because Wamakko isn't all that greedy, he told Tambuwal that there're more people out there who suffered enormously to make that victory a reality, such individuals deserves appointments more than Mahadi. This is to show you how complacent and self contented Senator Wamakko is.
Fast forward to 2019!
Yesterday, a 26 man list was submitted to the Sokoto State House of Assembly for screening as commissioners and Sagir Bafarawa (Fmr Gov. Bafarawa's son) unexpectedly made the list, but to my dismay, no one seems to be perturbed about that. Sagir is a childhood friend of mine and I hold no affliction against him, rather, I think there are more PDP diehards that sacrificed all they have to protect Bafarawa's political interest before, during and after the electioneering period. But now that an opportunity has come his way, Bafarawa ignored all of them and gave his son for appointment. This is how avaricious and parsimonious Bafarawa is when it comes to political interest, he loves none but only his children.

I am not saying Alu is a saint, he too has his own shortcomings but in terms of greediness, Alu is to a greater degree more altruistic than Bafarawa. I rest my case!

Governor Aminu waziri Tambuwal stated this Sunday while condoling the commissioner designate at their family house in Lambar Tureta town.
Tambuwal said the wise counsel of the deceased who died at the aged of 98 would be greatly missed and prayed Allah to forgive all his short comings as well as grrant the family fortitude to bear the loss.
Similarly Also Sunday the Governor condoled the Director finance ministry for Local government Alh. Danladi Chindo Kuchi over the death of his mother HajiyaTsaiyaba
Tambuwal prayed Allah to forgive the deceased all her mistakes and grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss.

Zamfara State Executive Governor, Hon Dr.Bello Mohammed Maradun (Matawallen Maradun) has visited the Inspector General of Police, Muhammad Adamu at the force headquarters, Abuja.

The Governor arrived the police headquarters at exactly 4:26 pm and held a meeting that lasted for about 2 hours.

Governor Matawalle at force headquarters under the directives of President Muhammadu Buhari to meet the IGP and discuss intensively on the recurrent security challenges facing Zamfara State .

Following the discussion with the IGP the police boss approved the immediate redeployment of two Mobile Police Squadron as requested.

Part of the two squadrons will be used in reopening the Colony -Faru -Jibia to Katsina road that has virtually been taken over by armed bandits while others will be stationed at the bandit flash points as may be identified by security agencies in the state.

The Governor therefore commended the commitment of the police and other security agencies in the way and manner they respond to his requests.

Recall that armed banditry in the state have continued to overwhem measures taken by the past administration in the state.

Under the present leadership of the Matawallen Maradun which is less than a month old however, more practical ways and approaches are being taken and the governor is confident that very soon, the bandits activities will come to an end and people can go about their legitimate businesses or sleep with both eyes closed without any hindrance or molestation.

The Governor also appealed to the people in the state to continue to pray for the success of the effort being put in place as well as give relevant information to the security that will lead to the dislodgement of the bandits wherever they are.
