Guess what? Valentine's Day is next week. Surprise, surprise right?

Ike and I usually have a quiet night at home on Valentine's Day. Mostly because I was a restaurant manager for eight years and Valentine's Day was c-r-a-z-y. So by the time I got home from work the last thing I wanted to do was go out with the masses for dinner. Sometimes we do venture out to somewhere exciting, like Subway. It's amazing how Subway isn't crowded on Valentine's Day.

I love this holiday because it's about love, wearing pink and red, hearts everywhere, and reminding people you love them. Not just your spouse either. I always send a little something to my Mom and nieces too.

In honor of such a fun holiday, and one of my favorite colors (red), I came up with a red treasury on etsy.

Last night I told Ike I wanted to have dinner at home and he could buy me a monitoring ultrasound at the RE's office for Valentine's Day! He laughed and then I reminded him how much it cost. He decided that would be a good gift.

A Different Kind of Waiting

This is what Ike and I are doing a lot of right now. Sitting and waiting. Well maybe not the sitting, but definitely the waiting.

Why does so much of infertility involve waiting. We wait to ovulate. We do the long two week wait. And if we aren't pregnant we start all over again. Throw in waiting for doctor appointments and test results and that's a whole lot of waiting!

Right now we are just waiting for it to be CD1 here. Because when it is, we get the show on the road for our injectable IUI! We have almost everything we need.

We have:
Follistim
Injection pens
OPK's
and
HPT's (let's hope they turn positive this time)

There's one thing missing from our list of things we have right now. Swimmers!!!!! When I called the bank two weeks ago to check on the availability of our donor I was told they were just waiting for some paperwork to come back from the lab so they could release more vials. They said it could take two days or two weeks.

Yesterday I realized cd1 should happen this week, so I called the bank to see about placing an order. They said the vials had just been made available for purchase, but there is a wait. She told me there were three others ahead of me but I could be put on the list for them to call.

I told her to absolutely get me on that list!!! This morning I got an email confirmation that we are indeed on the waiting list for availability. They will call the three women ahead of me first and then me.

So we are in a different wait right now. Waiting for cd1 and waiting for some swimmers to become available again. I guess we picked a popular donor huh?

I'm currently staring at my phone right now willing it to ring with a call from them. Let's hope it all works out perfectly. I'm pretty sure it will since I don't start my injections until cd5 and then it will probably another 10-14 days after that before we need the swimmers to be at the doctors office.

Have I ever mentioned I'm not the most patient person? Infertility is definitely teaching me to be a little more patient and trust that "it will all fall into place."
