If you cross the North Korean border illegally you get 12 years hard labor.
If you cross the Iranian border illegally, you are detained indefinitely.
If you cross the Afghan border illegally, you get shot.
If you cross the Saudi Arabian border illegally, you will be jailed.
If you cross the Chinese border illegally, you may never be heard from again.
If you cross the Venezuelan border illegally, you will be branded a spy and
your fate will be sealed.
If you cross the Cuban border illegally, you will be thrown into political prison to rot.
If you cross the border into Mexico illegally you will be jailed.
If you cross the border into Canada illegally you will jailed and deported.

HOWEVER: If you cross the U.S. Border illegally, no matter where you come from, you can get: A job–A driver’s license– A social security card–Welfare— Food stamps– Credit cards– Subsidized rent or a loan to buy a house– Free education– Free health care—free dental care—free cheese—a host of social services–A lobbyist in Washington looking out for “your rights”–And in many instances you can vote… May peace be a full part of your life…

I do wish they’d cut off the borders – I’m sick to death of illegal immigrants being taken care of when our American citizens can’t get jobs or support their families as it is.

And don’t go blaming it on the Obama administration – this has taken years of mismanagement to achieve. From Bush to Clinton and back to Bush – it’s gone on FAR too long and it’s much larger than any one man can clean up!

Enough Already!

The following arrived in my email yesterday via a subscription I have to Darren Hardy of Success Magazine. I thought it made some valuable points to be taken into consideration and thought I’d pass it on.

No more whining, bitching, moaning, griping and complaining.

At a social function recently, 90 percent of the chitchat I heard were whimpers about the economy, how bad Obama is doing and how much the health care plan sucks, ad nauseam.

Finally, I had heard enough and I blurted out, “In the ‘80’s when the economy was booming, did you get rich?”

“Uh, well, no” answered the small crowd’s speaker.

“But Reagan was president and still you didn’t? What about when Clinton was President? He created a big national surplus, certainly you got rich then?”

“If you were standing in the healthcare haven of France right now, as you describe, would you be any healthier than you are now?”

Silence was his answer.

“Look”, I said, “stop worrying about the national economy and focus on your own economy. Don’t worry about who’s running the White House and concern yourself with running your house better. The only health care plan that matters is your health care plan… for you.”

In my observation, it is just as easy to fail in a good economy as it is in a bad one. And it is just as easy to get rich in a bad economy as it is in a good one. Why? Because the economy has nothing to do with it.

I know many good, capable, smart and hardworking people who have been whacked by unexpected consequences of the economic winter we are in. It happens to the best of people even in the best of times.

Instead, start focusing on what you can control, what you can do, what’s possible and what’s great. Note the abundance and opportunity all around you… no matter the national economic report. Just focus on your report… and your life.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, depressed, stressed, defeated or even just uninspired, try this exercise:

1. Make a three-column list.

2. Write down things that are affecting our world, our nation, your state or your business. (Ex.: war in Afghanistan, Toyota and GM recalls, car bombings in Iraq, healthcare reform, etc.)

3. Write down all the news that you or your friends have discussed this week. (Ex.: unemployment figures, who won an Oscar, who shouldn’t have gotten booted off American Idol, 911 terrorist trial location, etc.)

4. Write down all the things you are worried about in your life. (Ex.: finding a job, survivability of your business, kids having difficulty in school, arguing with spouse, health condition of family member, your own health condition, etc.)

5. Next, write down if you have any control affecting the outcome of that situation.

a. If you don’t, stop worrying (and paying attention!) because you can’t do anything about it. It has no immediate impact on your life, so wipe it from your mental plate.

b. If you do, write down what you can do to take control, improve the situation, and most important, what is the next step to take.

6. Lastly, write down your top three goals for the year and write down the next single step you can take to move closer.

Remember, stop giving attention to the things you can’t control and have no bearing on your personal life. If you can do something about it, decide what part of it you can control and affect. Then take positive action.

Don’t get stuck standing still. Contemplating and, certainly, complaining about things you don’t have control over is simply lunacy.

It seems Lindsay Lohan believes it’s a slam against her, that her first name “Lindsay” is used like Madonna’s or Cher’s would be.

Lindsay Lohan has filed a lawsuit and wants a whopping $100 million!

Over "milk-aholic"?

What do YOU think?

Me? I think Lindsay Lohan is a whack job who should get over herself. I mean seriously, how many Lindsay’s do you know?

Social Media at Work – Ban or Boon?

As the average time spent on social media sites increases, some companies are beginning to ban the use of social networking at the office in fear that employees are wasting time. Do you think banning social media sites will increase productivity?

Consider these findings from a 2009 survey on policies and data loss risks from Proofpoint Inc.:

17 percent of companies report that they have investigated the posting of confidential, sensitive or private information to a social network, such as Facebook or LinkedIn.
10 percent have taken disciplinary actions against an employee who violated social networking policies in the past 12 months.
8 percent terminated an employee for violating a social networking policy.
45 percent are highly concerned about unauthorized information being posted on social networks.

If you were an employer, would you allow your employees to engage in social media activity while on the clock?

Catholic Church Bars Child of Gay Couple from Enrolling

Is it right for a Catholic school to deny a child enrollment because his parents are gay? It happened at a school in Boulder. The Reverend at the church said…"If a child of gay parents comes to our school, and we teach that gay marriage is against the will of God, then the child will think that we are saying their parents are bad."

Those outraged by his actions don’t buy it.

One banner reads: Teach acceptance. Celebrate all of God’s children."

Personally, I think the parents should have known better than try to enroll a child in a Catholic school. The school is a private school and has the right to teach any way they want to.

It would cause confusion for a child to attend a school that teaches what your parents are doing is wrong.

Why would they even want to try to put their kids in a school like that, given the circumstances.

If it’s for the 15 minutes of fame or to create drama – it’s done – now move on already.

What can I say, I never really watched the show before – and I’m probably not going to start now.

Flying with Children Rules

The National Transportation Safety Board is pushing airlines to make a rule stopping parents from holding babies in their laps during a flight. Should parents have to buy an extra airline seat for small children?

As a former frequent flier, I can easily see the need for children having their own seat.

When driving or riding in a car, kids are placed in their own seats or car seats and no one says anything.

Flying should not be seen as any different.

Once the flight is in the air, I can see a parent holding a child or baby – but during takeoff and landing – there are safety issues that should be considered.

Having and raising children is expensive.

Rhode Island School Fires All Teachers

A high school in Rhode Island is among the lowest ranking schools in the state. The school graduates less than half its students.

Whose fault is that? The student or the teacher?

In order to combat the growing problem, the high school is firing ALL the teachers and staff saying it needs an overhaul.

Is this the right solution or is it too drastic a measure?

A new site called “Chatroulette” allows kids to video chat with complete strangers… you click “play” and you’re connected randomly with someone else. You can just imagine what might be waiting for you on the other end

This is one of the big reasons we use and I recommend Firefox! You can utilize a Firefox Add-on called BlockSite and prevent your kids from visiting any site you want them to stay away from.
