I remember that game like it was yesterday. Joe Ferguson was the manager,
right? My son Joseph, now 13, is anxious to find out about Minor League
Baseball, and we may make a trip up there to catch a game.
I don't think I realized you were at the Northwestern performance. I see
Jeff Lombardo and Dave Cowan regularly, who were also at that show. Did you
know them? They were part of the "Cult Of Lowen" who followed us religiously
for many years. I just saw Jeff three weeks ago.
L&N quitting the road was a bitter pill to swallow, but we know we got at
least two more years than the norm, and we're grateful for that. There is a
video of his next-to-last performance on a charity site linked to my site.

I believe I first saw Lowen & Navarro perform in the student union at Northwestern in spring of 1990. I have since seen them in Chicago and California, in addition to the aforementioned time when I brought them to godforsaken High Desert (after seeing them on Good Morning LA TV show after they'd done the anthem at Camden Yards). As you may gather, Eric Lowen was diagnosed with ALS, just a few years after the birth of his first son. That one of the most beautiful voices would be silenced in his prime is truly tragic, but the spirit of the best little band that most people never heard of lives on! Read more at www.lownav.com.
