I haven't had a new post in two and a half weeks. Well, I will try and make up for the lost time. I promise.

Now getting back to business... Apparently pirate activity has become quite active over the last few months. Especially in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Somalia. Why there? I have no clue. One thing that I do know is that these pirates like to pick on the French. What a coincidence, so do I. But besides the fact that we both enjoy picking on the French, this seems to have become a noticeable problem. Pirates are taking pretty much whatever they can get over there, which is a lot lately. There were three pirate attacks in one day, more than has been recorded in a very long time.

While the French believe this to be a problem, I think it is hilarious. Although, maybe I should focus a bit more and be nice to them. But only if it could somehow decrease gas prices at the same time.

Then again, this is all in my own opinion.

School Shootings

Believe it or not, but a school shooting has already happened. The school year has barely started, not yet for me, yet in Knoxville, TN, at Central High School there has already been a death.

Yesterday (at the time of me posting this), before the school day had even begun, a student had decided that he had disliked another 16 year old classmate of his to such a degree where the only way to make himself feel any better was to kill the person. No more are the days of random act shootings, not like those were any better, but students are actually out to get specific people.

The shooter was quickly detained by the police and taken into custody. I am not exactly sure what his sentence will be because he has to go to court first and there have been some strange rulings before. But I personally say death penalty, "eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth." I don't know whether Tennessee allows the death penalty or not but I believe it is the only solution.

Does anyone else agree?

Links to story where I got my information: Salon.com CNN.com AP.org

Then again, this is all in my own opinion.

Mayor Tells Kids They Can't Sell Melons

Mayor Manning of Clayton, CA, receives complaints from two residents about two sisters selling home grown produce.

read more digg story

Wow. I was reading a few comments about this article and came across a funny quote, "...only in California." While this may be true, I still find it slightly on the extreme side. Apparently there is absolutely zero tolerance for any commercial activity in a residential area. What if these girls were to post up a yellow line around their produce stand to demarcate the change from a residential to commercial zone? I doubt that would be legal as well, but worth a try; "only in California" right? So I am assuming that these girls will have to rent out a commercial stand in a market somewhere or just give their produce away for free in their neighborhood.

I only hope that such a law would make the residential areas much safer from the likes of Girl Scouts and maybe even the Jehovah's Witnesses along with other forms of soliciting.

Side note; Are the Jehovah's Witnesses considered to be commercial soliciting? Their main goal may be to eventually take money from you... but I wouldn't know.

Then again, this is all in my own opinion.

Microsoft enlists Seinfeld, Gates to battle "Get a Mac" ads

Those Apple "Get a Mac" ads have long been an annoyance to Microsoft and to Bill Gates in particular. No surprise as an emboldened Apple with rising market share has continued to ratchet up the venomous quips like, "fear of switching is the foundation of customer loyalty for PCs." Now Microsoft is fighting back, with Jerry Seinfeld.

read more digg story

I am a little excited to see what these commercial/ads will look like. It's also a little sad that Microsoft is lower it's standards to Apple to compete against their ad campaign. Microsoft is doing great with having nearly as many commercials as Apple. But still, Jerry Seinfeld would be a good to see.

By the way, if you have a chance, check out the comments about this article on Digg. They gave me a good laugh. Don't worry, not all of them are ridiculous arguments.

MS FTW.

Then again, this is all in my own opinion.

IAAF Men's 200 Meter Toplist

Lists the fastest recorded times for the 200 meter run in the men's division.

read more digg story

I seem to be the first to Digg this at the time, but I posted a comment, "I was impressed and dissapointed at the same time. You?"

Although I was very impressed with Usain's world record time, I was still disappointed. I doubt that I would have the same feelings if Usain wasn't such a bragging showboat. I also believe that something must not be "right". Not only in this event, but the entire olympic competition. Scores seem "off" and I don't believe that people are recieving what they truly deserve. Keep in mind that I am not accusing any of the athletes from any country of cheating. But there is always a least one exception to the rule.

Then again, this is all in my own opinion.

Olympic Things

Of course I have been watching the Olympics. I am very pleased with how the United States' athletes are doing but I have found some issues. What is wrong with all of the scoring? I as especially disappointed in the womens uneven bar competition. If two athletes have exactly the same scoreand tie for gold, then they both should recieve a medal because they both deserve it. Correct?

The crazies that make the rules have decided that you cannot have a tie for gold. Their reasoning is... because. It's strange, there can be a tie in every other sport except gymnastics. What they have decided is that they will remove the highest and lowest scores from each athlee until the scores become uneven. What this does though is make the scoring unfair because that also removes certain judges' scores from counting. The whole point to having multiple judges is to make the grading fair. So we go from 8 judges, to 4. How is this fair?

I am very upset about this whole issue. And I don't even care too much for gymnastics.

Then again, this is all in my own opinion.
