I have many incredible ladies in my life.
Many ladies that helped raise me to the woman that I am today.
But one woman birthed me and has been an inspiration to me!
I love you so much Mom!
And another woman, who was my mother in law, and was my Godly example.

She is truly a Proverbs 31 woman. I love you too Mom!

And to the other Moms in my life.......you are amazing and I am truly blessed
to know you and so glad to call you family or friend.
I love you all very much too!

Easy Cold Brew Coffee

I have this thing for iced coffee. I could easily visit Starbucks everyday,

but I realized that adds up pretty quickly.

One day I saw a post online that you could make your own iced coffee at home for a little over a $1 a day with Starbucks Cold Brew.

(Target $4.19, Walmart $3.92, Smart n Final $5.64)

With the warm California days approaching, the iced coffee becomes very popular in our house. Even the Starbucks cold brew in our refrigerator starts adding up. What else can I do to make tasty cold brew coffee?

I started researching other options to make cold brew and came across the Hamilton Beach Cold Brew Pitcher. I was kind of hesitant because I didn't care for cold brew in a coffee press. The grounds would get into the coffee and it would be yucky!

I went ahead and ordered the cold brew pitcher. With a couple of fails, I finally think I figured out a way to make a tasty cold brew for a fraction of the price.

The first time I made cold brew with my new pitcher, the grounds came out of the filter into the freshly made cold brew. Argh! The next time I secured a coffee filter on top and it worked perfectly!

As you can see it is super easy to use!

After around 12 hours of brewing in your refrigerator, you can transfer it to another pitcher and start over again!! Super easy!

I drink my cold brew with a splash of half and half and sugar free caramel Torani syrup.
There is so many ways that you can do it!

Celebrating 30 Years.....

April 28, 1990

Has it really been 30 years since our wedding day? We were young and in love, and ready to take on the world. Here we are 30 years later, because two people fell in love, we have three boys, two beautiful daughter-in-laws, two sweetest granddaughters, and a handsome and feisty grandson. We are truly blessed!

My husband has truly made all of my dreams come true. The pictures that you are going to see is one of those "bucket list" moments. Our Hawaii trip, celebrating our anniversary, was amazing and I knew I wanted to document the celebration of our anniversary with pictures. My husband was a good sport and complied. :-)

To my dearest husband: Happy Anniversary. Thank you for the life we've built together. God has been so good to us and we are truly blessed! You are my best friend and I love you now more than I ever dreamed possible. Love Always, Frances

Proctor Silex Food Warmer & Buffet

What a life saver this food warmer and server was!!

We had our weekly EagleShield Pest Control meeting and I made breakfast for all of the guys.

I am very particular about making sure my food is hot and edible and not cold and yucky!

As you can see, the warmer was perfect!

It kept the food warm while I finished up breakfast and all of the guys could arrive and eat.

Essential Oil Diffuser

I posted a picture of my new oil diffuser on Instagram and several people asked where I got it.

As you can see it is really nice. And the price was great!
It is remote controlled with a timer and the lights can alternate colors.

It makes for a very cool ambiance where ever you put it.

Bible Journaling: Stay in the Ship

Most of the time when I bible journal, I usually use a verse that was preached and include the main points of the message. Right on time, Bro. Cody Marks preached a message to our church, via live stream on our website, that I had to document.

Paul ran aground an island and Bro. Marks likened it to our situation. In the verse they were told to stay in the ship....or they would not be saved. He reminded us.......we need to stay in the ship. Trust God......everything is going to be alright!! Acts 27:31

Day 12 of the Quarantine

I have had a lot of time on my hands with the stay at home orders to fight the CoVid-19. It has felt really good to do some things I had not had the time to do for a very long time.

In 2015 I started bible journaling and creating stamps for my little Etsy shop. When I went back to teaching in 2016, I didn't have as much free time. Slowly things I enjoyed doing was put aside. The last few days I have been taking to time to journal, bake, and even cook all of our meals. Being at home caring for my family is very fulfilling and I really missed it.

But, enough of that!! I have been asked to do a flip of my bible journal and you can take a look below!!

I hope you enjoyed seeing my bible journal. I am not an artist......but love playing with paint and glittery things!! Take care and do something you have haven't done in a long time!

I often get the question how I use some of the products in my shop. Right now I use most of the items for my picture journal. Journaling is about all that I have time for right now. I recently posted on Instagram a quick tutorial and here it is for you also.

As you can see, this is another way to journal and also document your memories. I find this so relaxing and much easier to fit into my schedule. I also take them with me when I travel and document all the fun things that we do.

As I professed in the past, I have chosen not to do a New Year’s Resolution. Since 2015 I have chosen an “One Little Word” to practice and perfect over the year. I am not the originator of this concept, Ali Edwards is, and I will tag her so you can go check out her method.

Back in 2014, after reading Ali Edwards blog post, I realized that all of my resolutions were the same and I was lucky to make it half a year. Year after year I was setting resolutions and failing at them miserably. After reading her concept, I was enlightened and knew that this was more attainable.

In 2015 I chose Daily: My goal was to daily pray, daily read my bible, daily walk with God.

📝

In 2016 I chose Balance: I realized things were pretty crazy, and to have a daily walk with God and to get things done, I had to find balance in my life. (In all areas) When you have lots of things going on in your life, it is easy to become unbalanced and not accomplish anything, or to finish projects all the way.

In 2017 I chose Trust: To grow in Christ and realize my purpose, I had to trust God with all of my heart.

📝

In 2018 I chose Grateful: I didn’t need more, I needed to be grateful for all. My health, my family, what God was doing, what God had blessed me.....for everything!

In 2019 I chose Consistent: When life is busy, sometimes you have a hard time being consistent with any one thing. Whether it is exercise or eating healthy, or it could be praying and reading your bible, it is important to be consistent.]

Now you see how I have used “One Little Word” to grow each year. There are so many different words, and you need to pray and reflect on what area you need to work on in your life. A word covers many multitude of areas, and by the end of the year, watch and see what you can accomplish.

Cooling Dog Pool

Keeping your outdoor dog cool during the summer months can be a challenge. Thankfully my lab loves water!! Sadly he cannot always be in the pool.

Recently I was on a hunt for a pool that was not the hard plastic. The hard plastic pool is cheaper, but too hard to drain, and almost impossible to lift when filled with water.

I was excited to find a pool made for dogs in mind. Pawhut collapsible dog pool was perfect for what I was looking for! It has a drain plug and folds accordion for easy storage. I love it!! And so does Rye!

Solar Pool Lights

When the boys were younger, a pool was always a dream for them. Now they are older, and we still love to sit around and visit by the pool, and now the grand kids get to enjoy the pool also.

This summer I wanted to get something fun and festive for the pool. I looked at floating candles and other things that would bring ambiance to the pool. I knew that I didn't want to mess with lighting candles or anything that was battery operated. I was so excited when I found these solar pool lights!! They have been a hit all summer!!

(haha....excuse the angry monster!)

After ordering two, I was so impressed, that I ordered three more. You can't just have two! :-)
I love how that the lights change colors. Each light does come with a remote and you can set them to one color or have them rotate. I love just having them rotate. They are so cool!!

Bottom of the Trail

I stood at the bottom of the trail with excitement. I knew what was at the top of the trail, an amazing view and the top of the waterfall. I know some of you are saying, just get up the trail. But when you are out of shape and overweight, everything is hard. Your body and joints hurt, and I knew when I started climbing, that my chest would burn and my legs would feel weak. However, I stood there with determination, I am going to the top.

My husband climbs the trail with ease, but I cannot compare myself to him. I assure you, I cannot compete with him. Honestly, we all need to stop comparing ourselves to others. We must set goals that we can achieve. If I had made it half way, that is better than standing at the bottom and wishing I could go to the top to see the view. So, slowing but surely, I started the climb and I didn’t care how long it was going to take. I fact, I did make it to the top and the view was worth it!!
