I took her out to show her my new country town, and on a short walk, I just showed her how many random strangers stop their cars or stop their walks to goo and ga over me.  She couldn't believe it, and she couldn't stop giggling.  

But can you believe it's July and we're all wearing sweaters?  What is up with this weather?  I don't have a lot of experience with this, but this just can't be right, can it?

Anyway, folks, I have so much more to show her -- like for instance how to pick berries and how to nap under the peas and chase Japanese beetles and hide chewies in the mulch and the best places to sleep and what are the best toys and -- well, so I've got to get on with it!  Talk to you next week!  Busy-busy!

I feel sort of "meh" about this scarf, but it could be because as I'm writing this it seems to be taking forEVER to dry, and as superwash wools are prone to do, it feels awfully oomphless while still damp.  It will be soft, though, and it is definitely unisex.  Overall I like the look OK.  I wish I'd made it a few stitches wider, but I've tried it on and I think it will wear attractively.  I like the plain red Corrugator one better, though.

UPDATE:  After it dried, I love it!

Vermont bison burger topped with Cabot cheddar; roasted beets with maple vinaigrette (Vermont maple syrup, Vermont apple cider vinegar, Vermont sunflower seed oil, salt & pepper); steamed carrots and peas.  For dessert:  black raspberries topped with a drizzle of Vermont cream and Vermont honey.

Grade for the day:  A+

After I've been getting up at a certain hour for a while, I often forget to turn off my alarm on the weekend, or for the next day on which I do not have to get up.

This leads to much cursing and head-banging. 

Please take notice that I have REMEMBERED to turn off my alarm for tomorrow as I'm writing this, today as you're reading this, Friday for everyone else. 

And since 5 a.m. is even early for Mr. Jefferies, I'm quite sure he will let me sleep in too.
