Online is Web/Internet based. Offline is Software based and is       loaded directly onto your computer. I was tired of searching for local directories, finding a few and then not remembering their domain names... and my bookmarks are such a mess I can not make heads of tails of them.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Well there are somewhere about 100 local directories out there but so far I just found 75 of them and I want you to help me sort it all out... meaning helping me add to the list but also to let me know which directory gets feed from super sites like, &lt;span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;SuperPages.com&lt;/span&gt; or &lt;span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"&gt;LocalEze.com&lt;/span&gt;, and so on. This way I would be able to do an update and group them appropriately.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Well how I finally got the list together is from searching for articles on local directories and then I grouped all the listings together since none of the articles had a comprehensive list (some had 30, others 40). I then loaded each listing in my browser, one by one to make absolutely sure that each listing was as noted.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have put together a web site too just to host the list of local directories so that it's easier for you to bookmark it and access the list on a regular basis. &lt;a href="http://www.yourlocalportal.com/"&gt;http://www.YourLocalPortal.com&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Well here goes the list of local directories, in no particular order (at this time). If the company does not mention submitting to those top 2 local directories you would be wasting your time and money submitting to that local leads directory or local leads generation search engine company as you will only be exposed to their clientele which would be quite small compared to what is available out there for your area.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A few popular ones to submit to are &lt;a href="http://superpages.com/"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"&gt;SuperPages.com&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/a&gt;, &lt;a href="http://local.com/"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"&gt;Local.com&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/a&gt; and &lt;a href="http://abc.nowonthenet.com/"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"&gt;EzLocal.com&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/a&gt;, others such as &lt;a href="http://merchantcircle.com/"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"&gt;MerchantCircle.com&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/a&gt; and &lt;a href="http://truelocal.com/"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"&gt;TrueLocal.com&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/a&gt; are okay but they do not give you the biggest bang for your buck because they don't submit to the 2 biggest local search engines, Yahoo Local and Google Local.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: center;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;(&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"&gt;To be fair there are literally hundreds of Local Business Directories Online, I just listed the few that I'm more familiar with here&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;.)&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Some of these local leads companies charge a one time set up fee as well as a monthly fee, this ranges from $25 - $150, then they charge from $20 - $100 per month. I say find a company that submits to at least 20 local directories including &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Yahoo Local&lt;/span&gt; and &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Google Local&lt;/span&gt; for about $20 - $30 per month would be fair. Oh by the way, small businesses do not need a website in order to be listed in most if not all local leads directories. So that solves half of their problems, but I think having a website is best for all small businesses.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Some of these local leads companies offer &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;PPC &lt;/span&gt;services as well. I say only get that service if you don't have the time to do it yourself... and if you do use &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;PPC &lt;/span&gt;make sure it is &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Google&lt;/span&gt;... I've tried a few different &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;PPC &lt;/span&gt;companies and nowhere else is worth more than $0.05 per click in my opinion. If you're going to pay more may as well use the best. To impart information only. To house your Newsletter. To sell items.
