Their thoughts? It felt more like a Diablo RTS than a true RTS. The writer felt the game was a bit more action focused and a little less focused on things like resources and base building. I'm not seeing this as a negative.

Ars Technica goes a bit more in depth with the overall game and gives the view from 5000 mile style preview. It's a good way to get your feet wet with Halo Wars.

My Fitness Coach

Product Details

My Fitness Coach is the latest in Nintendo's impressive line of games that prove video game entertainment can be both healthy and fun. Sure it's pricey, but keep an eye out for it on sale here or elsewhere. I paid $70, I've heard of others getting it for as low as $40.

Regardless of the price, it works very well. Plug it in, go to the system settings, and plug in your security code for your network, and you're good to go. I didn't even have to change the Firewall settings on my wireless router, which was a nice surprise. Wireless connection seems pretty fast too, faster than the one on my PS3, but it's hard to tell really.

Check out @ the Shop ... Koki Shiraishi, of Daiwa Securities, said the television channel would allow the company to exploit the huge existing base of Wii users to make the critical shift towards content-based revenues.

The launch of the TV channel - effectively a video-on-demand download service - will initially take the form of a partnership between Nintendo and Dentsu, Japan's largest advertising agency. The agency will produce the programmes and sell advertising.

However, Nintendo's success as a broadcaster is hardly guaranteed: the company has attempted to use previous generations of its consoles to deliver non-games content but every scheme has ended in failure. The company's big Christmas in-house title, Wii Music, has flopped - bringing to an end a long run of success in the current games market.

Read Full Article @ Times Online

PS3 Games Of 2009 - Part II

<img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt;
The introduction of Trophies, the redesign of the PlayStation Store, victory in the HD format war - the list of successes is definitely impressive though it would be unfair to claim the year was unblemished and without hiccups. There is still the sticking point of price and the loss of some heavy hitting exclusive properties such as Final Fantasy XIII and Tekken 6 but, as a whole, 2008 will go down as a good year for Sony.

Read full article @ PS3 Attitude

New 3 in 1 Controller for Sony PS3 Released

With all the different remotes and controllers used to control the PS3, it can sometimes be a chore to keep track of all of them. This creative peripheral manages to combine a Blu-ray remote, keyboard, and game controller all into one package.

From the looks of it, the remote and slide-out keyboard seem easy to use, but the controller looks like it would be rather uncomfortable to play with. Success HK has managed to attach analog sticks onto the device, but they look more like the nub found on the PSP rather than what’s found on a regular controller. Still, with a $28.52 price tag, it’s hard to find a better bargain. Even if you don’t use the controller, the remote and keyboard are definitely be worth the money; buying each peripheral separately would cost one hell of a lot more.

Source: PS3center.net

Final Fantasy Versus XIII E3 Trailer

The trailer opens with a view of a metropolis at night as a full moon hangs over it. Text proclaiming "There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so." ripples into the view. The picture goes black before revealing a dark chamber only lit by the moon light coming through the roof around a central pillar. The Prince is sitting on his thrown with his eyes shut. His eyes open and he leaves his chair with intent.

Thunder and lighting crash as the Prince walks out of a massive gothic skyscraper to find cloaked men dead around him and hundreds of armed soldiers equipped with machine guns, waiting for him. As the Prince takes his first step down the stairs towards the soldiers, they open fire. The Prince however is protected by a barrier of weapons only visible when shot, and finally when he summons them to materialize. The trailer ends as the Prince presents a motor-bound sword in a slash, as his eyes gleam a deep red.

5 predictions for 2009

cnet said "Now that 2009 is only hours away, I thought it was time to unveil this year's 2009 predictions.
