Welcome back everyone, for this year’s edition of NBA Playoff Picks.  The first round was thrilling, but let’s get real.  It’s the second round when things really start to heat up (no pun intended).  Thankfully, there will be no more Lakers, Bucks, or other crapola teams to clutter up our basketball.  Anyways, on to my picks for this round.  You might be surprised by a few of these…here we go:

Golden State over San Antonio in 6.

Oklahoma City over Memphis in 7.

Miami over Chicago in 6. (It pains me to say it, but facts are facts and talent is talent)

Indiana over New York in 6

So there are your picks folks.  All series are tied 1-1 right now and it could be any team in the Finals (and by any team I mean any team could be losing to Miami in the Finals).  These aren’t meant as advice on gambling, but if you want lots of sports betting options, many people bet with Bovada.  Anyways, be safe, have fun, and go Bulls!

With the end of the regular season, the Atlanta Hawks have made it to the playoff round. To begin the first playoff round, the Atlanta Hawks will be playing against the Indiana Pacers. The playoffs could last as many as seven games depending upon the results of the previous games. In the first two games, the teams split the competition with the Pacers winning game 1 and the Hawks winning game two. For those who not only are fans of NBA basketball but also enjoy sports betting, these upcoming games for the Hawks are ideal games on which to place wagers.

In the next game of the Atlanta Hawks and Indiana Pacers playoff round, the Hawks are the favourite to win. The money line has Atlanta at -130 and Indiana at +110.  The underdog is always listed as a positive value while the favourite is given a negative number. These odds mean that if a better would place a $130 bet on the Atlanta Hawks, they would make a net profit of $100 off of their bet. On the other hand, if someone places at $100 bet on the Indiana Pacers, they would make a profit of $110. Money lines help even out the odds, so bettors see it favorable to also wager their money on the underdog.

After placing a sport bet on the Hawks, bettors can also enjoy various casino games that feature basketball. Found easily at online casinos, slot machines provide some excitement for the sport on which they are based. One popular slot machine is Slam Dunk. I don’t think anyone is expecting the Bulls to make a splash in the draft this year (although rumors of trading Deng for the No. 7 pick are ratcheting up as evidenced by the team’s denials).  Logically you would think that the 29th pick has not been a bastion of superstar NBA players, although it may be even worse than you think.  Over at Hardwood Paroxysm (an unbelievable read by the way, any true NBA fan has it in the regular rotation), they did a study of all draft picks in the last 20 years.  Here is their roundup of the 29th pick:

If a team is looking for flashy players that are going to put points on the board and dish out assists, the 29th spot is not the place to be. Ranking 30th in points per 36 minutes, 28th in assists and AST%, and 27th in TS%, offense is not the strong suit of 29th overall picks. However, a number of defensive contributors have been found here with the 29th pick producing top 10 averages in both STL% and BLK%. If the Bulls could get a P.J. Brown type player to come off the bench in spot roles, they should consider this draft a win.

Sweet.  PJ Brown.  I guess this makes sense and could be valuable if we end up missing out on Asik though.
